Are you sure these ones actually fought in the (un)civil war, because they don't look that old to me. They may have witnessed the war as kids but I don't buy the story that they actually fought in it.
Anyway, the government should bury this thing once and for all by organising a referendum on the Biafra question. |

Because I haven't seen or heard any good news since the emergence of Mr. Fayose as the Governor
That man isn't suppose to be a Governor in the first place.
Mcheeeew Besides cutting ponmo and buying Tomato, I read that the state has also started demanding that the people pay taxes - about the major (if not only) positive development since Fayose got into power for the second time. The tax evaders are now being made to pay tax, and they are grumbling. If all goes well, and I hope it does, the state should be able to generate, at least, N1bn per month henceforth. |

Those with opposing views should provide evidence pointing to the contrary. Same here o. I've even had to argue with some that throughout the campaign period, I didn't hear anything concerning paying 5k to unemployed graduates monthly. The only 5k-promise they made was to poor people as part of their SWP - a leaf which they borrowed from the previous government in Ekiti State. |

The other day El-Rufai decided to put an end to street-begging, and they spoke out against it. Couldn't believe my ears when I heard Shehu Sani's take on the matter.
Everywhere on the streets is littered with Almajiri boys, singing "Allah ya kiare" in request for alms. Many of them cannot recite 1 to 10. In a country where you need to be educated in order to aspire to political positions, these kids are effectively (being) disenfranchised. And almost no one bats an eyelid. It's normal. Now when "normal" comes with an abnormal fury, everyone will resort to denial. Comedians everywhere! |

The truth is dat we all know Islam is the reason why the north remains under developed, a cancer that has continued to place Nigeria on some very undignified list (illiteracy index, cholera, poverty, vvf, etc).
until the Muslim elite folks at all levels show the same hatred for anti Islam to boko haram, they will continue with this bs. Thank you. And they'll be saying the underdevelopment in the region is a result of the governing principles of the colonial authorities, 55 years after the end of colonial rule o! Imagine someone preaching about women's rights, while his wife and daughter go about their daily businesses veiled up in burqa. The earlier they face the truth and tackle their demons, the better. Onegai: Please where exactly are you from that 17-25 is in the same age group? In my village, age group is 3+ years according to how my ancestors defined it. In the city I grew up in (Lagos), 17 and 25 is cause for alarm (one is about to enter uni, the other is about to get a job). So how are they mates? Or where you come from, 11 and 19 is a normal dating couple bah? Same number of years, so I guess that's also right.
chai... 17-25 still fall within the same age bracket. Relationships between people between that age bracket are VERY common in our society. So don't tell me your ancestor's story. Was it not in this same environment that a 16-year-old girl told me she was dating a 25-year-old guy and I was like, what the ****!!! But then one looks around and sees that it's not novel. An eleven year old kid is still in where, primary school or J1? While at 17, she should be an undergraduate. Did you even read what she said. At 17, she was old enough to work, old enough to be in a relationship, old enough to have sex in a car, in an hotel, old enough to do doggy, old enough to give BJ, old enough to stay out till 12am... But she wasn't old enough to know she was being raped? And over a year after the whole fiasco ended, she was still stalking her alleged rapist? Does that follow for your side? |

If the comments I've seen on NL on this Mustapha-Sugarbelly non-drama is anything to go by, as a people, we can hold our own!
You don't just sell bobo and expect everyone to buy. If we do, then we can't call the thing inside our respective skulls "brains".
And for the overnight, viju-milk women right's activitists, sannu! Same goes for those who'll support anything coming from a woman, just because she is a woman - the lightweight feminists fall in this category (Betty Friedan will be turning in her grave).
Madam Oby really fall my hand for this matter. Well, why am I surprised? Since Baba became president, all the BBOG struggles have been confined to 140 words on twitter.
This consensual sexual relationship was between two spoiled brats aged 17 and 25, and if the emails are anything to go by, it took place in the very year she turned 18. Unless we want to make hypocrites of ourselves, this kind of relationship is very common in our society. They belong to the same age bracket. This is different from, say, 17 to 45.
In fact, while I agree that the guy has his faults, he has my prayers now. All these overnight noisemakers will not turn this story to align with their position, we won't allow them. |

The stories have finally started adding up. She made it sound as if it was abuse from A to Z in her initial disjointed outbursts. She claimed it was rape and sexual assault and all that and that she contemplated changing her place of work but didn't want to spook her parents. Now we know the mom was aware, she kept on working where she worked and kept going out with him because the going was rosy, and that two years after the whole fiasco, she was still professing her love for him. Does that sound like something that happens between a rapist and the victim? Thanks for this scintillating piece, TonyeBarcanista. Hard to believe I'm eulogising you for a write-up. |

Aareonakakanfo: Ogun state gets new radio station
https://cdn.pmnewsnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Senator-Gbenga-Obadara-249x336.jpg
A non serving Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Gbenga Obadara, who represented Ogun Central Senatorial District under the platform of SDP during the 7th legislature has opened a new private radio station in the state.
All is now set for the on air commencement of the private radio station located within the heart of Abeokuta. The newly completed radio station has been undergoing test transmission since 20 November.
The new station named ‘Sweet FM’, will be transmitting on the frequency of 107.1FM band.
The station is situated within the popular Ibara Housing Estate, Abeokuta, the state capital.
Findings revealed that the station, which is the second private radio station in the state, will fully come on air by 1 December, 2015. Investigation revealed that a lot of programmes being aired on an existing radio station in the town have now been taken to the new radio station.
A member of the Freelance and Independent Broadcasters’ Association of Nigeria (FIBAN) in the state, who pleaded anonymity, disclosed that the new radio station arrived at a very good time when they were having some crisis with the management of the existing radio station.
There has been crisis between the management of the Radio Nigeria, Abeokuta (Paramount FM) and FIBAN in the state and the station is like home station for most of the presenters in the state.
The presenters stopped airing their programmes on the station in the last one month before the station itself went off air since about two weeks ago due to a faulty transmitter.
Our correspondent reliably gathered that the Odeda-born former federal lawmaker commenced work on the radio station as requested by the FIBAN members due to his close and cordial relationship with the association.
With the birth of the new radio station in few days to come, Ogun State is now having four radio stations. One is owned by the Federal Government, Paramount 94.5 FM; the second one is the state owned, OGBC 2 90.5FM and the third one, Rockcity 101.9FM owned by a veteran journalist and a former Commissioner for Information and Strategy in the state under Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Mr Niran Malaolu. The newest in town now is Sweet 107.1FM which will commence full transmission on Tuesday, 1 December, 2015.
http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2015/11/24/obadara-opens-new-radio-station/ Just 4? Akure alone has seven. |
