Suigeneris93:And the heavens help you if the interviewer (or one of those sitting on the interviewing panel) is a Nairalander whom you recently bashed. |
richardoz:The Ooni is an orisa, and not an "alase ikeji orisa". Hence, oonirisa! There are 401 chief gods in Yorubaland, according to the mythology, and the only living one among them is the "ooni". Sé ó yé? Kneeling before a preacher, for an Ooni, is a sacrilege. These guys are hypocrites sef, they go through all those traditional rituals and still come out to do "sàgbè lójú yòyò" to you people and you gulp everything line, hook and sinker. Anyway, tis the crazy century! |
gidjah:What was he doing in the midst of violence? I guess you didn't get the full gist. Your so-called military invaded a residential area (Gyellesu) at 10pm in the night and, in a bid to arrest the Shiite leader and demolish his residence, started shooting. Are the victims seers who could see the future to the extent of knowing what was to come after they would've retired to their respective rooms that night? |
The perpetrators of this injustice shall know no peace! |
Nigeria's men-in-uniform and extra-judicial killings. If we are to truthfully calculate the number of people killed extra-judicially by our men-in-uniform nationwide since 2009 -- the year Boko Haram began their terror campaign, it would be close to the total number of Boko Haram vicitims, put currently at 17000. |
So you are scared of marrying your age mate? What's wrong with you people? There are men out there who are happily married to women who are older than they are. Chisos! Who do you now want to marry, someone you're older than by 10 years, in the name of fresh blood or whatever?! |
The culprits -- Nigerian Army -- will not get away with it this time, not without some backlash. And they've succeeded in giving Zakzaky and his group exactly what they want - international publicity. |
Don't mind dem joor, OP. Dey enjoy dey go. BTW, when are you two tying the knot? |
That'd be something! But seriously, it'd reflect more of who an individual is than most other social networks. |
You no longer belong to a political party, but you to 'dash' something to one of your political supporters... ![]() You politicians ehn... |
Small time now they'll be complaining that they don't have the arms and ammunitions to prosecute the war against Boko Haram, yet they have the weapons to shoot indiscriminately at defenseless citizens. BTW, what are they doing in Zaria when a war is going on in Sambisa forest? For more than five years, they've taken more than 20% of our national budget with little or nothing to show for it. |
This coming from an academic!? Little wonder the country is in deep sh!t. |
PDPmamapiss:The area is a residential area, and the military launched their attack after 10 in the night. |
olarhtunji:The type that isn't as dead as the one in your skull. |
joshk:He is greater than your God, yes! If he isn't aware of the history and responsibilities that comes with the seat he now occupy, he'd do better to ask for help. The Ooni is a LIVING GOD, and shouldn't bow to anybody or fluke-God. |
Is this one the one that'll now construct a magnificent temple for the gods at Ife? Ooni Ogunwusi, why art thou fall my hand, why? |
At 34 in 9ja, he'd likely be a Personal Assistant to one of the yam-eaters in the National Assembly. The youths will never be tomorrow's leaders if they are denied of leadership positions today! |
nobilie:Linked to Boko Haram? The same Boko Haram that killed 21 shiites two weeks ago? |
leke12:Exactly! The traditional muslim authority in the North is Sunni, and the only sect that's organised enough to challenge their authority is the Shia. This may explain why the NA has been trying to cut the head and the neck of the sect off, while not minding the number of civilians that perish in the process. |
Kachisbarbie:Oh-oh! The same excuse applies to Messrs AIT and ThisDay too. Afterall they are businessmen. Abi? |
Minimum force? And you've been shooting at them for three days in a roll now? So one of them had a machine gun and we haven't seen pictures or videos of the machine gun or of the car that was allegedly shot at? The bullets may not penetrate but the dents will be visible. Knowing the Nigerian Army, if they have anything concrete to back up their claims, it will be the first thing they'll reveal to the world. And where for fvck sake is our Commander-in-Chief? On another journey to Santiago or receiving another honorary doctorate from Timbuktu University? |
irunooboo:Congratulations! |
carinmom:Your nightmare, it appears. ![]() |
DEDON8181:Are you for real!? The area of the road the Shiites blocked was that around their headquarter/mosque, and they were there to mark what, to them, is an iconic occasion - the beginning of the month in which Prophet Mohammed was born. And they didn't block the road entirely on this occasion, according to available reports, they were only controlling the traffic. RCCG does same every now and then around their own headquarter. So enough of the hypocrisy! |
carinmom:Swerve one side, and stop peddling hate! |
meshack15:I also hope you don't see any reason why RCCG should block or obstruct the flow of traffic on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway? I hope you don't see a reason why muslims should disturb the rest of us with their five-times-daily call for prayer? I hope you don't see a reason why church-goers should, with their wailing-praying-singing sounds and drum beats, disturb the rest of us? I hope you don't agree with traditionalists disturbing the rest of us with their masquerades and festivals? ... |
carinmom:And you were there and witnessed the events you recited above? They were so daring that they specifically went to block the road in order to assassinate the COAS, ko? Use your head, arábìnrin! All of you keep claiming they were wielding dangerous weapons, yet I haven't seen any picture that depict such. The pictures of those that were murdered by the men of the Nigerian Army that we've seen doesn't reveal any dangerous weapons too. And when did it become legitimate for men-in-uniform to kill civilians, innocent or not, extra-judicially? The other time they said they do wield dangerous weapons during their procession. I watched and waited and watched and waited during the procession, yet all I saw were simple human beings carrying out a religious duty. You don't crush those you disagree with or paint them bad. Diversity is good. Did they cordon off an area of the road? Yes! What was their reason for doing that? They've given an answer. Now not only did the military lie about the assassination attempt, but they also explicitly stated that the excesses of the sect members in Zaria had to be curb. But is state-censored homicide (or is it genocide?) the way to go about it? Mbanu! |
If the Nigerian Army can perpetrate this evil in public glare, now imagine what they do when we aren't looking. And to think some are here encouraging them... I give up on this country! That those guys are there robbing the dead isn't new. Visit any ceremony on a weekend in Zaria and watch the Almajiri guys attack the leftovers. Many of us no longer respect the sanctity of life, public institutions inclusive. |
Not only do they want to steal us blind, with our explicit consent, but they also intend to buy cars that are not made in Nigeria. If you must cheat us to buy cars, then endeavour to patronise Innoson. |
GspotAngela:Last year, soldiers killed three of his sons and some other members of the sect, this year, according to some reports, they've killed another of his son, one of his wives, some prominent members of the sect, and scores of his followers (many of them unarmed). These killings look fishy somehow. |
Now this is what a peaceful protest looks like. The structural violence must stop! |
Frankiss44:I'm with you on this one. The only thing impunity and injustice breed is more violence. Imagine if the soldiers that murdered those worshipers last year had been subjected to the justice system, what's happening today won't be happening. |
