Exactly! The traditional muslim authority in the North is Sunni, and the only sect that's organised enough to challenge their authority is the Shia. Are you for real!? The area of the road the Shiites blocked was that around their headquarter/mosque, and they were there to mark what, to them, is an iconic occasion - the beginning of the month in which Prophet Mohammed was born. And they didn't block the road entirely on this occasion, according to available reports, they were only controlling the traffic. RCCG does same every now and then around their own headquarter. So enough of the hypocrisy!

In as much as the killings of the armless shiites is condemnable, I do not see any justifiable reason why a group of islamic organization should be carrying out protest and hindering other road users from a federal and public road in such a delicate time when the military is seriously combatting the Boko-haram insurgent.As a matter of fact,not many people especially the non-muslims knows whether there is any difference between the shites and the sunni muslims, the army may just mistake them to be the same set of terrorist considering the havoc the terrorist has caused this nation including the army themselves.

And you were there and witnessed the events you recited above? They were so daring that they specifically went to block the road in order to assassinate the COAS, ko? Use your head, arábìnrin! All of you keep claiming they were wielding dangerous weapons, yet I haven't seen any picture that depict such. The pictures of those that were murdered by the men of the Nigerian Army that we've seen doesn't reveal any dangerous weapons too. And when did it become legitimate for men-in-uniform to kill civilians, innocent or not, extra-judicially?

The other time they said they do wield dangerous weapons during their procession. I watched and waited and watched and waited during the procession, yet all I saw were simple human beings carrying out a religious duty. You don't crush those you disagree with or paint them bad. Diversity is good.

Did they cordon off an area of the road? Yes! What was their reason for doing that? They've given an answer. Now not only did the military lie about the assassination attempt, but they also explicitly stated that the excesses of the sect members in Zaria had to be curb. But is state-censored homicide (or is it genocide?) the way to go about it? Mbanu!

If the Nigerian Army can perpetrate this evil in public glare, now imagine what they do when we aren't looking. And to think some are here encouraging them... I give up on this country!

That those guys are there robbing the dead isn't new. Visit any ceremony on a weekend in Zaria and watch the Almajiri guys attack the leftovers. Many of us no longer respect the sanctity of life, public institutions inclusive.

Last year, soldiers killed three of his sons and some other members of the sect, this year, according to some reports, they've killed another of his son, one of his wives, some prominent members of the sect, and scores of his followers (many of them unarmed). These killings look fishy somehow.

Now this is what a peaceful protest looks like. The structural violence must stop!

I'm with you on this one. The only thing impunity and injustice breed is more violence. Imagine if the soldiers that murdered those worshipers last year had been subjected to the justice system, what's happening today won't be happening.
