It's painful watching Chelsea play these days. |
The trio of Fayemi, Fashola & Adeosun represented the SW very well at the sceening. Kachikwu too was flawless; Ogbeh was beautiful; and Ms Mohammed was pure class. I do hope the era when it is the worst that represent a state at the FEC is over (or going, at least). |
Mohammed would still have passed. Besides, there was no objections later after Saraki had confirmed his nomination. And I believe many of those who said "nay" said so in a cheerful manner. |
A classic case of a clash of cultures. Why would an Eze Ndigbo wear a beaded crown to the palace of a prominent Yoruba Oba? It's never done! I'm sure the Eze Ndigbo in question would have spent over ten years in Akure. It's not just about the money, he should also have taken time to learn about the culture of his hosts. He goofed on this one. |

maupe:16% is not half. |
Only 6 of the 37 nominees are women, equating to a measly 16%. Doesn't send the right kind of message! |
I've been seeing some silly comments made by some doofus asking what Fayemi achieved as Ekiti state governor. Some people can be pathetic! From increasing the state's IGR from N109m monthly to N600m to issuing solar-powered laptop computers to students of SS1 & SS2 in all the secondary schools in the state to construction ten classroom blocks in all the secondary schools in the state to paying N5000 naira monthly stipends to some 25000 elderly men and women (65+ years of age) in the state who lack tangible financial support of any kind to dualising some roads in the state capital and the near completion of the Ado-Iworoko-Ifaki dual-carriage way to the systematic construction of 5km of road in the sixteen LGAs within a time-frame to the near-revolution of agriculture in the state (as evidenced by the YCAD programme and others), etc etc. If you don't know what to say, biko, seal it! |
LordMecuzy:You need to get an MPhil first. Otherwise, they'll keep rejecting your PhD application. |
Lere, Fayose's SA on New Media, is an unstable fellow. To him and his boss, the fact that DSP had a case to answer in Britain doesn't matter. That DSP is "celebrated" by a people is a case for sociologists and psychiatrists to explore. Their case is not yet in court and they've started dropping dead and developing cancer. If their matter come reach court nko? |
Chanji! Chanji!! Chanji!!! ![]() |
Bad belle people everywhere. I don't see the sense in the article. I bet the writer is one of those pained wailers. Long may he wail! |
In the name of equality, when are we going to get the International Day of the Boy? |
sorepco:The state government in Nigeria has its own sphere of jurisdiction: it is empowered to make laws like this one. Besides, the function of the State House of Assembly is to make laws for the state, in line with the dictates of the constitution, and not to interpret it. And the Nigerian constitution also guarantees (at least in theory) the sustenance of the cultures and traditions of the various ethnic nations in the country, as long as they don't contradict the laws of the land. Or why do you think the traditional rulers (and institutions), customary courts, etc were recognised in the constitution? Moves are today being made by the government of the various states to keep the language(s) spoken by the people of the respective states alive. The right step in the right direction, if you ask me. |
See me see something. So because he was stripped of the captain band, we all should hold our breath for him? What nonsense! Silva was replaced with Neymar as the captain of the Brazilian team and he didn't raise hell fire. Enyeama should go and sleep joor. Nigerians too like title. |
IYANGBALI:Lolz |
IYANGBALI:There's nothing wrong with being a house-husband. Both the husband and the wife have equal stakes in a marriage. If the situation is the other way around, we won't even be having this discussion. There is nothing wrong with the man manning the kitchen. And which one is wash pant for his wife? She isn't disabled now, is she? |
This shouldn't even be an issue. The husband should resign and take care of the home, at least for now. |
sorepco:So with all your education, the most suitable example that you think to compare this with is the Super Eagles? The Assembly in question is the Lagos State assembly; the football team you're referring to is the Super Eagles of Nigeria. You cannot say that because foreigners are more than indigenes in Qatar, the state should drop Arabic in favour of another language. It wouldn't make sense. Salaam! |
She has an intimidating CV. Let's wait and see the senator that'll come out and say she's not worthy of a ministerial position. We'll ask him/her to go and bring his/her CV. ![]() |
Nice. But he has to learn to communicate effectively in Yoruba sha, instead of clamouring for the Assembly to revert back to using the English language during Thursday plenary sessions. |
macof:Referring to your fellow human beings as "murderous tsetse flies" is not only violent but beneath you, Mr Macof. |
Who are the prominent leaders? It's not enough to call for (or threaten) secession, it has to be for the right reasons. And these so-called "prominent leaders" represent the wrong reasons... Still... Ile Ominira Oodua (Republic of Oodua), please! #ADreamIsBorn |
From Blatter to Hayatou. The problem wey dey FIFA no be here. |
Is it a must to be the team's captain?! Anyway, good luck, Vincent, and thanks for the memories! |
Impressive, coming from Fayose. But then, it's not like anything was going to stop Fayemi before. |
Where are those die-hard Jonathanians? Even the recognised Jonathanians-in-chief have started confessing. Even GEJ should see now that those criticising him then were actually his well-wishers. A lesson here for today's men. |

OP, PG studies at ABU are neither as fast-paced nor cheap as you paint them. And to say the professorial strength is six per department, on the average, is a fat lie. The duration of the programmes are sometimes 2x years (the minimum being two years), and you have to pay extra full school fees for that/those "x" year(s). |
