Donlittle: maybe, but not really. i am yoruba, and lets forget about tribe for a minute and analyze this thing, olamide messed up. you do not have to mention someones name to have a go at them, which was what olamide did.
don jazzy had every right to reply the way he did, people are saying olamide get mouth or whatever, like yea, don jazzy will come to mainland and will get beat up lol. You're getting it all wrong. Don Jazzy was the first to mention Olamide's name. And the next-rated award shouldn't have gone to Reekado Banks, not when you have Lil Kesh and Kiss Daniel on the nominations list. The ensuing (or is ongoing) drama is part of the entertainment sha. |

PastorAIO: Orisha Oke is Orisa of mountains and Highlands.
Orisa Oke is worshipped in Ibadan, for example, which is surrounded by hills. And the orisa oke other people also appeal too every now and then is the orisa of mountains? To my knowledge, every mountain or hill that has any significance in a people's history in Yorubaland has its own specific deity with a specific name, e.g. Olosunta and Orole for the hills that bear the two names in Ikere-Ekiti. Orisa oke is often used interchangeably with olu orun to refer to the lord/deity/god in charge of oke (sky) - olodumare. |

Egungun can never be supreme to Ori, neither can Orisha. You should check out Eji Ogbe. Ori da mi re. Ori puts every thing and every orisha in it's place. They all challenged Ori and Ori threw them down. If Olodumare is not an orisa, who/what then is orisa oke? |

I've read nos. 1, 2 and 5.
I think The Jero Plays, The Boy Slave, An African Night Entertainment, Arrow Of God, The Joys Of Motherhood, Our Husband Has Gone Mad Again, The Drummer Boy, The Virtuous Woman, and one novel like that about Akpan's travails with smugglers which features a one-eyed Sunday should also make the list. 1 Like |

meforyou1: promises upon promises. All unrealistic. N5K for unemployed youths. No way. Free meal for school children. No way. And now promise of free education? All buhari advisers will rot in jail. It actually is possible. The 5k is for some unemployed persons who the govt consider vulnerable. Free lunch for school children is also possible -- some states have such programmes in their public schools already. As for free education, all they need do to tick that box is to eliminate tuition fees for students in the sciences, technology and education in federal universities. Shikena! |

Kk4: * M.D.A surplus in Nigeria? Oya cone and take
* Projected Deficit is scary Gaskiya
* Some unscrupulous persons are trying to get back money spent during the election season. There is God o
* It was not clearly stated how the FG intended to bring down fiscal deficit to 1.3% from 14%
* These oil marketers don't have CHANGE in their dictionary
* Capital expenditure is looking interesting. Nice one FG.
* Fall in Recurrent expenditure is not much but it is acceptable..
* Hope the special intervention program include unemployed graduates. Despite say I don't support free handouts, our yungins need that 5k. JESU
* Shout out education sector. Hope say Una go pay una workers their arrears.
CONCLUSION
* NIGERIA WAS NEVER GREAT. MY OPINION The talk is about bringing down the fiscal deficit from the 2.16% in the proposed 2016 budget to 1.3% in 2018, which shouldn't be hard for a serious government. The 14% is debt-to-gdp ratio. |

janellemonae: ...
So it was okay for ironsi to federalize d country and d economy, so dt every regions revenue is used by everyone, but since we are now dependent on oil, federalism is now wrong. Hope u know d north and d west never wanted federalism. It was Azikiwes' NCNC dt wanted it, and they did a coup to get it. You better stop complaining. Why art thou lie, Janellemonae? Ironsi turned the country into a unitary state, and not federal. And in the run up to independence, the East wanted the country to be a unitary state, the North preferred a confederation, while the West canvassed for federalism. Anyone who has read Awo's memoirs will tell you he became a federalism convert and advocate in 1948. Besides, any right-thinking political scientist will tell you federalism is a better system for an entity with a character such as Nigeria's. |

Heads must roll for that carnage. Starting with Buratai. I'm with the writer on this. The Major-General who calls himself the GOC of the area must also pay with his job. All those sheepish and devilish soldiers who took part in the massacre must also pay for their crimes. And after they've all been relieved of their jobs, they must dance to the music of their atrocities in court.
This is a democracy, not a khakistocracy! |
