davidylan: and your own explanation is? Or are you also going to repeat the same "go and read" canard?
Yes I have to ask you to go read, dig and research these things out on your own rather than deriving cyber pleasures out of the redemanding of already given answers you seem bent on combing for loop holes. If you find any flaws or errors in any of the academic books treating these opics about BigBang theory and evolution, you point it out to them authors and you'll probably get known. That's the beauty of science, it's not rigid. It's changes in light of new or more satisfactory evidence.
TV/MoviesRe: Why Are Ladies Addicted To Home Movies? by ghostofsparta(m):
nchewi: Is there something in the genetic make-up of females that collectively makes them huge fans of Home movies? Save for a few, this is an undisputed fact!
Why are ladies addicted to Home movies? *Beats me!!*

#the sound alone is enough to drive me nuts!!
NairaLanders please cultivate the habit of putting your English properly, the question should be why are ladies Nigerian ladies addicted to home movies Nigerian home movies.

Answer:

1. Because it is the only medium of entertainment that continually provides them - the simulation of an appealing alternate reality where everyone including village hags speaks phonetic English, where NEPA/PHCN never interrupt the electric lights. The law enforcers are always reliable and result oriented, the evil-doers always lose and the glory always be to God of the African semitic race.

2. It is the only source that continuously feeds the average Nigerian babe the mentality of measuring any prince charming by his wealth and material possessions by reinforcing the possibility of actualising such fantasies in an anomic society

8. Collision In May 2007, leading atheist Christopher Hitchens and Christian apologist Douglas Wilson began to argue the topic “Is Christianity Good for the World?” in a series of written exchanges published in Christianity Today. The rowdy literary bout piqued the interest of film-maker Darren Doane, who sought out Hitchens and Wilson to pitch the idea of making a film around the debate.

davidylan: Again waah waah... predictable. Rather than provide the "carefully and well-explained scientific process" he told us existed, he just pivots back to the tired genesis bashing. What caused the big b.ang or is it your belief that it just happened by magic out of nothing?
If you can't understand the BigBang eventuality, please, go and read 'Something From Nothing' a 2012 book by Laurence Krause. Not only did he simplified the whole BigB4ng complexity for the likes of you, he went further to expatiate how something can come from nothing.
TravelRe: How Painful US Visa Denial Could Be.... by ghostofsparta(m): 5:08pm On Mar 02, 2013
CyberG: BEST COMMENTER so far! Look, if someone like you applied for any visa you will most probably get it because this is the correct attitude. I add to your brilliant comments: Why will Nigerians vote the dumbest / clueless leaders, who ruin every chance to greatly advance our country and then want to run to the US, Canada, etc? It makes no sense and all this VO know exactly the leaders and countries that are shaite! As I write, their is 24 hours surveillance of Nigeria and almost all other countries both by agents in the country and military forces who live just off the Atlantic coast and every information about Nigeria is sent back almost as soon as it happens including the desperation of a lot of Nigerians to travel to the US by all means after voting useless people who will never make Nigeria a better country everyone in the world would queue up to get the visa! Shame on you all and the useless leaders you always elect and turn around to run to the US, UK.
Visa ko, Mastercard ni.

I don't think our problem stems from the lumpuproletariat's inability to discern and vote for the right leaders. The truth is- there's no way a british experiment-gone-wrong can produce genuine leaders. No matter how many seemingly convincing, sweet talking and all promising political contenders are presented to us, the over-religious, mentally colonised majorities are still left with voting for one out of many Defools. It's elevating to equate our so called leaders with the imaginary Devil hence Defools because the Devil and his legions at least work tirelessly to keep inferno illuminated with fiery flames, unlike Nigeria in this 2013 where I among millions still can't sleep smoothly without uninterrupted electricity light, singing mosquitoes and a heat so sweat inducing it once made me dreamt my idle standing fan is working only to wake up from the sweat-drenched bed to see darkness. The Nigeria structure is such that it bends a virtuous ruler to compromise, it's inherently self-corrupting. It's needs a total overhaul. Full Reboot. Reformatted and install a new Operating System. One were foreign concept of governing is applied no more. Where any would be leaders, governor, senator, legislator, minister, etc should venture into government under an agreement where he/she will be made to swear oath on whatever their expected duties, promises and manifestos over the activated energies of Osisikankwu, Ayilala, Amadioha, Ogun, Shango etc on national TV with a provisio that any attempt to reverse it be met with so, so, and so dire consequences of their offspriings and generation. Then let's see who would dare to embezzle the public funds, who would think of misappropriation or corruption. Nigeria would be transformed in less than 3years. White people don't believe in all these 'woo-woo' but their borrowed system of government sure isn't working here because it's was their conception and an system that suits there. Why should our tested ancient form of check-and-balance system of government? Because it doesn't favour ill deeds.
TravelRe: How Painful US Visa Denial Could Be.... by ghostofsparta(m):
To hell with USA and UK, their shakara 3 much sef, wetin dey there gaaaan? If Odudualand is at least 50% OKAY, why would I think of flying. out. I have never seen the sense in touring, why do I need to go sight see Niagra falls or Statue of Libert when there are thousands of fascinating supernatural phenomenon I'm longing to unravel here. If there was steady electricity supply, good roads, security, job opportunities, stable economy etc in this amalgamation called Nigeria, the propensity of most Nigerians to always want to fly out would minimal. Why don't we st@ inculcating a sense of trio-contending nationalism? The yorubas can make Odudua Nation a place far more better than the US and Canada combined given their intellectual and technological prowess. The Igbos can make Igbokwenu Nation a country far better and advanced than China and Korea combined in terms of their fierce industrialism and innovations. Those of the north can turn their place to a nation more craved than Saudi. Or Dubai. When do we blax Afrikans start thinking of turning our lands to beautiful lands were outsiders would have reasons to queue for our visas. I'm surprised with the way those granted visas commented on how glad there were as if travelling abroad is the ultimate achievement in the existence of a black man's living in a third world country. All my friends are always shocked when I reply that I wouldn't budge if there's a vessel the size of Titanic waiting at wharf for any to freely hop in to America, 89•9% of the Nigerian, especially the youths (15-30) wants to go to Amereeka, when I ask what if we all go, who will remain to fix this place? They'll reply - shey na your problem? They attack me for not being patriotic when I have long being denouncing being a Nigerian but an Oduduan given various reasons but confused at their propensity to travel out at the slightest opportunity or Visa Lottery. Hypocritical thing is they proclaim '9ja Till I Die' here claiming another nationality when asked by strangers abroad. We just consume, we produce nothing to the world. Regardless of my love and hate for America. Let them keep denying us, even let them deny everyone so we can stay put and tackle the mess. Most of those flying out to US and the rest of the world are escapists who don't want to engage the situation here. Nigeria to me is a war-zone, war of attrition, graver than Iraq or Somalia, anyone USA stamps their visa to go out is a dissenter. The cogent question I asked friends whenever the 'travelling out' subject is roused is - let's imagine many of you my friends and other millions of youths have ja commot finish (scattered around the world without reason to come back). for a very loooooooooooong time......do they think whatever system whose currency eventually became 5times stronger than that of the British pounds would urge them with warmly welcome to return back home and enjoy the same basic amenities and social infrastructures that enticed them to USA and UK for which those who were left behind yeeeaaaarrrrsss ago strived and died to attain ? They always either say "I don't know jor" or "I'll always be welcomed in my father's land". Can you Imagine.

ofeseluayakata: What has God got to do with getting visa?
Let him be, don't you know everything in a heavily Colonised artificial country like Nigeria is measured by, and reflected on God will or Satan influence by those who can't reason past their story books.

@those commenters associating their visa approval to the favour of God, please kindly answer the question below:

Who should successful drug traffickers, prostitutes, scammers, economy looters, bomb strappers whose visas were unknowingly granted be thankful and praisful to? Satan? Shango? Babasuwe?

If none of you can't answer, then you are one of the 'yeye' religionists that makes this place undwellable.

Mmmn in a lilliputian way, however employing a different approach beyond the techniques presently known and applied. It needs research on my part which is ongoing (not easy), that is why I saw the need to understand how OS are made, why I asked for the prerequisites of OS programming which WhiZTim has provided us below:
WhiZTiM: Writing MBRs
Bootstrapping and Boot loaders...
Processor instruction sets..
Processor' supervisor modes and interrupts (depending on what type of kernel you want to make)...
File system structures...
Hardware Abstraction Layers (HAL)...
Handling and decoding Hardware interrupts...e.g from input devices...
Display and Output devices...
Synchronization...
Virtual Address mapping.
Assembly language may be required at some point.
Providing services and API to run processes on user space mode.
Context switching etc...
The list goes on and on and on...
Javanian: Even if you are building an OS for a wrist watch you still have a loong way to go.

. .
WhiZTiM, I will like to have you on my team, you are smart for figuring it out a little. They all assume I was talking about a PC based OS.

1953 season 2 of the preceding Winner: Israel
1967 blockburster season 3: 6 Day War Winner: Israel
1973 Yom Kippur War Winner: Israel
1982 Lebanese Civil War Winner: Israel And Allies.
1987-89 Iran(persians) vs Iraq (Arabs) Winner: Iran
1990 Gulf War I: Allied Forces(mostly european and american) Vs Iraq Winner: Allied forces
2001/2: Gulf War II: (drumroll) US.

Thats an awful number of wars lost.

They are more suited hit and run, pin prick cowardly raids.
Guy cool down, the "winning" pot of soup is referring to is in Africa. They've been winning over the suppressed black African nations. In our schools we were all thought to believe those responsible for the enslavement of black Africans were the whites, big fart LIES, it was the Arabs. They've been perpetrating heinous black enslavement before the southern Europeans knew the routes to Africa. The Arabs wiped hundreds of thousands of villages and towns, sacked various African empires and cities. Raided thousands of settlements from North Africa to West Africa all these were done for thousands of years, in the guise of a religiously motivated mission against the Kaffirs(Infidels/pagans) while they were looting away resources and black slaves who marched across the Sahara. Haven't you wondered why and how is it that north African countries today whose supposed inhabitant ought to black skinned instead are Arabs. Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia, etc. They have been winning even till today in Nigeria and I admire them and the Jews who were the main sponsors of certain aspect of African slavery. Fvck all negroid for being suckers to these otherwise inferior semites who must truly be Yahweh&Allah chosen. If the Nigerian police were not patrolling your neighbourhood and risking their lives to protect an idioot like you, you would not be able to live for more than 24 hours wherever you are right now, so count your blessings. Go and read how many officers of the Nigerian police have lost their lives protecting your dumb asss from robbers in the last year.

Like so many other MOANERS, you obviously think YOU are perfect.

You are wrong.

Instead of complaining and blaming OTHERS for the problems you see around you, YOU take responsibility for doing YOUR bit, and leave the rest to others and God. If you did this, you would have far less time to come online to moan.

I used the think the Nigerian was very resilient  but i realized that the nIgerian is the like the frog in boiling water who adapt to every situation till it burst.
Total breakdown of law and order, go to jos and borno,i have relatives in both states every day i wake up in panic attacks afraid that it might be the last.
Have u ever been to a police station, guilty until proven guilty, the last time i was there whiuch was last week,so guys "arrested" some one for stealing their battery, there was no proof, there battery was missing, they saw the guy with a battery and said it was theirs, took him to the police statiomn, police started slapping the guy.
the guy is one of  those guys that sell batteries for a living,i just had to leave the place because i got physically ill.the guy is in the cell now, becuase he has no one to bail him and the police took the money he had on him.

This all happened in my presence. Is this the kind of police force that should be protecting the citizenry, without adequate education, a crude and sadistic lot?I hope u are rich enough never to be complained against, then u will know there is no justice.
It doenst matter if u are right or wrong to them u are just a customer.
it just kills me .I might be moaning on nairaland because i am actually mouring about the jungle the country has become.
Look around you, stories upon stories.Like i said i dont have your stenght today.
Years ago, I took a taxi with my stuffs including the now ancient Pentium III pc, stopped us at checkpoint, after the usual thing they're known for, (silly questionsand all that)They just had to pin something on me, since I couldn't provide a receipt for my own Pentium 3, I was hauled to their station to write statement that I stole the PC which I refused and I was slammed with the threat of visiting the gaol unless I settle. Omo guys I I tire straight. These and several experiences including those of others are the reason I have long stopped regarding myself a Nigerian. Giant of Africa or not, football cup winner or not. I don't blame the Nigerian police, there are instruments to the evil puppeteers in power else they would have been effectively reformed decades ago.

I first knew Omotola through her debut "Thorns of Rose" when I used to be crazily in love with anything Jalade but have unsubscribed off her 10yrs ago when she began succumbing to the awkward Nigeria movie standard dictating the market pressure, I didn't blame, she has to do her job.

Talking about fake, it's all Nigerian actors and actresses, and to some extent Yoruba movies. Apart from the likes of Liz Benson and some few ones, they are all professional fakestars most especially all those eastern dominated/ghanian based actressess, they are fVcking fakes pretending on movies to simulate what isn't realistically Nigeria. I still don't blame them, they gast obey yeye scripts in order to feed.

As for the show, I saw the ad one time, can never be interested in something like that as I have never being for the likes of the kadashians or that snoop reality show or that predetermined guiness fake search or that crib shows.

I know Nigerians than they know themselves, Nigerians swallows any Shit thrown at them on TV so for them to reject this omotola reality stunt, it must truly mean that she didn't go about it right.

And you pretty_boi, you're so, so wrong. Reality shows aren't investment to promote or sell the anchors Not my opinion. Its a fact. Check out this genuine reality show about couples/lovers who signup for a challenge pledges to never leave eachother after being subjected to an island or so, separated from each other only to be attached to another partner of other couples/lovers. Someone should please remind me of it name, pretty_boi you should ask around for the show I'm talking of and if you do, please tell me who or what is the said show investing on or promoting? The show is a genuine reality TV show. Thats what I call unique concept and original and not the follow follow reality shows 9ja producers love to cheaply imitate.

Sentiment have infected you all, I can't imagine most commenters summing this incident up as a white on black violence! What about the uncountable black on black violences that permeates our own society here in the amalgamation called Nigeria. Was it not two weeks ago one psycho shot his ex, her sisters, their neighbours and phoned the ex's man asking for his whereabout to be gun down. Daily Sun reported it happened at Igando, same tabloid reported another man who drugged club ladies with lethal dosage of valium-5, sleeps with them and rob them off their belongings. When he was caught, he claimed a LovePeddler he picked up at a club robbed him off his $30,000 he brought with him from South Africa and turned him to CDsellers. I used to think psychos only exists in abroad, but there are lots of them here in Nigeria. We just don't keep statistics of them like the west do. Ritualists here are meaner than serial-killers over there, armed robbers here are psychotic than the ones in USA who haven't being reported to order a son to fVck her mum or sister for their viewing pleasures as a punishment for not having money at home. You all know what I'm talking about and stop pretending, condemning, analysing Yankee crimes with such piety as if far worst doesn't occur here on daily basis. People getting missing every minutes here. Nairaland front page is gradually becoming where missing people are posted due to the numbers of daily viewers, Won't any of you hypocrites prefer missing in Yankee than here because of the prospects of getting found, either dead or alive, with forensic or thorough investigation as the cause and condition of death, regardless the number of years it may take. There are documentaries on what I'm talking about on C&I and youtube. I'm beginning to dislike Nairaland these days because it seems to be full of non-reasoning people, most likely youths who just love trivialising any serious topic. Visit any US or Uk based forum and read how folks debate argument with various opinions and reasons.

1. Kingdom of Heaven:In this movie starring Orlando Bloom @ his best, it had the defenders of Christs pitted against the islamic forces under the Kurdish warfighter-Saladin the Saracen over the ownership of the land of God in the infamous battle of Haitin

2. Constantine:A fictional movie based on the then popular Hell Blazer comics about a guy rejected in heaven, sought after in Hell

3. Season of The Witches: Christians crusaders killing in the name of God of the Jews(Yahweh) until, two certain dissenters faced an ancient demons.

4. The Devil's Advocate:One of the best, though not critical

5. Crossing Over: This movie had a guy among its various character who had wouldn't proclaim being an atheist in order to get a job as an Hebrew teacher

6. Devil: An psychological horror film where Satan the Devil was re-invented in as punisher of evil.

These are the ones I can remember for now, add your to list starting with no. 7 and remember to summarize.

They don't go for only money, they take all sorts of things that is of valuable. Phones, wrist watches, laptops, snickers etc. You don't resist them. Statistics based on verbal reports states that those who have tried to show resistance have either being met with rib-crushing blows and thrown out of the bus at fast speed or ditched out with utmost aggression. My advise: if you find yourself in a One Chance situation, surrender when they demand and remember to look down because they hate the risk of being recognised. The fear of One Chancers is the beginning of "Eko Ti Baje Kin Shey Eni'. Fashola and The Police are not Batman & Robins, they can only try their best. You've been warned.

kokoye: So..why is robbing called "one chance"?
The origin of the term One Chance is unknown but I think it was dubbed One Chance because it is another mode of robbery simply define as- The luring of any unsuspecting commuter into a supposedly registered/licensed buses passed off as the usual, normal ones. They are mostly danfos which is why it is difficult for the police to eradicate the criminality. The origin of the term One Chance is unknown but I think it was dubbed One Chance because according to urban legend, it takes a victim one chance to decide entering a bus or having a rethink given the alarming rate of criminality back then in Lagos roads. It's origin can also be rooted in the fact that bus conductors are known to shouts their destination e.g. ”Oshodi one more chance" when marketing the available vacant seat before take off. From my little research regarding the One Chance phenomenon, I realised that it crept into Lagos from Warri and the likes since it was endemic there, speculatively stating.
