Guys, pls any info on the DSS recruitment status?

I'm interested in knowing if they have done BSc recruitment for this year? (Although, previous comments don't show assent to this).

Are they currently accepting applications or have closed for the year or haven't started yet?

Answers please!!

It's been 5 days now with no response about the DSS recruitment status for the year 2024. Well, I was able to speak with someone who works there who said that there is nothing like recruitment for now and that once they start, will inform me.

When I was applying I couldn't find my local government! Did anyone encounter same problem and are the local government now complete.

It will be uploaded. The site is continuously being updated with absent LGAs.

If you're using a phone and you're having issues proceeding with the application like in uploading your files, change the site view from mobile to "desktop" and try again.
It doesn't really matter your file size as long as it's not up to a megabyte from my observation.

Although, the site loading rate is slow, you will scale some avoidable glitches like the one I just mentioned.

One challenge with all these speculations of "no death" is that if it were possible for people to get shot at and wounded, then how come is it possible to only get wounded and not death.....

So, the military men shot at protesters, got them wounded and then one makeup artist started making constumed shots of "dead persons" after the incident and the dead persons are happy to feign death? It beats my reasoning that some people will deny death incidents related this protest.
We know that rumours and exaggerations are bound to things like this but we cannot deny that there are streaks of fact before the exaggerations and there are death incidents associated to this incident. The picture and video evidences abound online.

Their target was Tinubu, Buhari and APC. Nothing like endsars.
Even when the president agree to scrap the SARS and accepted their demands, they still blocked the roads.
When federal government called them for dialogue, they refused to dialogue.
Dino melaye who is known to be one of the most useless politician in Nigeria, he showcase his wealth to intimidate Nigerians youths but unfortunately they gave him mic to speak in one of the protest ground.
Tinubu is seeing as a stumbling block for their quest for power come 2023 that is the reason they want to cripple him financially and politically.

So, since this is all against Tinubu, why was it not so against Buhari of whom there was outright reservations against when he came out at first?

When was the last time you heard or read about a massive move like this in Nigeria? Don't make your presumptions absolute. Even the results of calculated, coordinated scientific research process don't come out this absolute.

They have been scrapping SARS since 2017 on Press media, consecutively every year till date, what has that done but to instigate another no retreat protest. Our leaders play on our innocence and openheartedness and call it governance.

The masses do not need another dialogue. There should be some other excellent way. We have had dialogues all our lives and we have remained like this. We are no longer at the dialogue stand, Let our leader(s) upgrade in approach, and in sincerity come out to us and do positively to win back our trust again. We need absolute reformation. #Endsars #Endbadgovernance #Restructurenigeria

I don't have to be there to know what happened there. How come since last night no one has mention any name of their pictures? FYI, I have 2 friends at Lekki and both said they don't know anyone that die. If you get anyone who know anyone let me know.

It's not possible for only your two friends to absolutely conclude whether anyone died or not from a gathering of thousands, even they have friends too. How far they can affirm anything is how far they know. It is not possible for them to be everywhere in that helter-skelter to tell who died and who didn't: they are not surveillance cameras? Even surveillance cameras were turned off during the incident.
We are not talking about whether the death was immediate on being shot or later after being shot but people really lost their lives. This one we are even putting up arguments of death or not, we have not come to the end of this thing yet and If we agree that people got injured, then the probability of death abounds with our kind of Medicare. People die from bullet injuries too. It just takes a longer while than people who were shot at close range.

If no one was to die, why were the lights and CCTV cameras out? Why should anyone even be wounded in the first place if the intention was not to kill? I'm sure part of the aim of the lights and cameras being out were to incite arguments like this because of the outage.
We saw testimonies of people testifying to being shot at directly at many times and only narrowly escaping. No Deaths is not a justification for the left leg pulled up at the expense of the people's safety whom you are supposed to protect on such occasion neither does it reduce the sadness and pain of such inhumane, senile system floating above us. But the deaths even escalate the pain and sadness.

We have seen leaked inside messages confirming the whole incident from unnamed Staffs at the toll gate authority. I am not trying to affirm that someone must die to justify or complete our pain and mourning, I'm saying there were clear enough evidences of people who didn't make it and steps to such outcome should not come from people who represent you. An aspect of Democratic governance is tolerance and forbearance. Military rule would have justified this but a democrat would never do this, no founding fathers of democracy will identify with this as Democratic. The whole process is wrong and juvenile in sense.

So, go to instagram and twitter and search #endsars, #lekkimassacre or #lekkigenocide...also search for tags to Djswitch and find out well.. then you can get information to confirm your assertion as to whether anyone died or not.

I personally followed the trends for the past two days and I know of two persons whose names were mentioned and captured – One Lucy and Samson lost their lives there that night. Save yourself from saving wrong situations like this. There is no logical basis for this whatsoever, there are lots of innovative ways to attend to the people if you actually had attention in mind. The best you could do is pray for our leaders not to come out argue whether anyone died or not. Is gun shots a cane that you should raise it at people and wait to argue whether anybody died or not or ease up that only many got wounded, just for only crying out their grievances?
Please drop arguments and focus! Pray for Nigeria and our leaders. While we Demand for reform, let's become the reform too.

Family / Re: Why Are We In This World? What Do We Live For In Life? by GideonOmach(m): 3:09pm On Aug 24, 2020
DBestDoc:
Honestly, i've been asking myself this same question. I have read a couple of books on the subject matter (The purpose driven life inclusive) but none was able to give me the precise answer i seek.

The meaninglessness and senselessness of life has led me to the startling realization that those who didn't have the chance to be born are the luckiest of all. I mean, i've thought deeply about everything and it's nothing but full blown madness.

I chose to respond to you because I follow you ma.

Earthly Life is madness and vain when there is no clear definition of what it is driving at. It's so true. But when you begin to take feel in the light of it, you will not know how to compare "never existing" and being alive because you will become occupied with the Joy of living. The scriptures speak of the "Light of Life" (that defines, reveals life, unravels its secrecy and darkness, bringing meaning).

My little cent is that thinking or reading is never designed to tell you why you are alive, Doc. They may suggest things to you. You may be tempted to adopt or presume or relegate why to yourself but you are not exactly sure until you hear your name being called and the lines of your eternal life statement is declared to you.. Until an encounter with the Lord God unravels the mystery of your own life to you, it will be to you anything you think it is but never what it Truly is.

For It is not in man to direct his path.
No man will ever come about the truth behind why he himself lives by thinking or reading books in which he may find shared testimonies or principles. Why we live is something beyond our thought range. It is beyond us because we are designed to live in a range that is beyond our now natural selves and abilities.
But the particular details of our personal existence must only be revealed and discovered to us because that information is hidden with God beyond the boundaries of natural consciousness or anything presently known to man or knowable by man's strength alone – For our existence is tied to God (meanwhile, God dwells in the secret. You cannot chance upon Him primarily by the spectrum of thought. He must be sought after and reveal himself to man).
Every man is new and sealed, a divine, supernatural product, addressed by God, to God and for God. Only God can break the seal and release the man to function according to design (or purpose) in His presence, under His direction and Light, wherein is the Light of Life.

John Wesley, the renowned revivalist and preacher of the 18th century, in the midday of his earthly pilgrimage with God proclaimed:

I am the creature of a day, passing through life as an arrow through the air. I am a spirit come from God and returning to God; just hovering over the great gulf; till a few moments hence I am no more seen; I drop into an unchangeable eternity! I want to know one thing, the way to heaven; how to land safe on that happy shore. God Himself has condescended to teach the way; for this end He came from heaven. He hath written it down in a book. give me that book! At any price give me the Book of God! Lord, is it not Thy word If any man lack wisdom, let him ask of God? Thou givest liberally, and upbraidest not. Thou hast said, if any be willing to do Thy will he shall know. I am willing to do; let me know Thy will. John Wesley

All earthly human life is veiled until a secret High Light casts upon it to discover its ordained path and cause it to move in that direction.

Encounter, Intimacy with God is where there is a declaration of details of personality to personality. This is the only way to in-depth true knowledge of oneself as well as if any man must brace himself against all the insanities, unknowingness and meaninglessness of life presented to man from his only possible seeing of it, an outward beholding of it.
Education / Re: UNIZIK Isn't Admitting Students Into Medicine? by GideonOmach(m): 3:19pm On Jul 01, 2020
mannyiyke:
Yes. EBSU even needs the transcript before the admission, while UNN will ask you to pay N10,000 for the transcript, after admission. They'll then go to your Alma mater and get the transcript.

NYSC certificate is not compulsory, but I was asked to present it at EBSU.

You can choose federal and state universities as first and second choices. However, no second choice university offers the candidate admission into medicine. Candidates who may choose them as first choice are usually numerous. So, making a university a second choice cannot guarantee you admission in that school.

I can't really tell the procedure EBSU uses to arrive at who will be offered a direct entry admission into medicine, other than second class upper requirement. Apart from the 2.1 criterion, I don't really know how they choose the ones they want. I was just lucky. It was God's grace.

Great! You also must be in your clinicals now before the pandemic, sir?

True. It was God with you, considering you're non-indigenous. With God, nothing shall be impossible.
Thanks so much for the hand. I'm grateful Sir.
Education / Re: UNIZIK Isn't Admitting Students Into Medicine? by GideonOmach(m): 4:46pm On Jun 30, 2020
mannyiyke:
That's why it's hard to gain a direct entry admission at EBSU, although I was lucky when I did a direct entry application into medicine there. The first criterion is that the candidates must graduate with second class upper. So, EBSU doesn't offer DE admission into medicine, to second class lower degree holders.

With respect to UNN, its post-DE is the same as JAMB questions. If you can score high in JAMB, you can also score high in it.

Wonderful! EBSU does her admission by not-so-known criteria except the CGPA criterion. wow!
Meanwhile, you are not allowed to make more than one university a choice in D.E right?

Also, do you know if any of both schools demand for NYSC discharge certificate and transcript for D.E applicants after admission?
Education / Re: UNIZIK Isn't Admitting Students Into Medicine? by GideonOmach(m): 4:23pm On Jun 30, 2020
mannyiyke:
For EBSU, you must graduate with second class upper, and it doesn't conduct a physical post-DE screening. You only buy the form and fill it online. For UNN, it takes second class lower, but you must score up to 320 to 350 in its post-DE, to stand a chance. The people I know there are in their clinical training. So, they don't live at UNEC again. They're clinical students of medicine and dentistry at UNTH. So, they won't be of any help. Just read very well, purchase a JAMB DE form, and when UNN advertises its post-DE screening form, you go and purchase it. EBSU doesn't take enough. UNN has a problem in over-admission only to weed some of them out in the 2nd mbbs.

Thanks so much for the info.

But If EBSU doesn't have a post-D.E. screening procedure, how do they vet the admission process?

Also, do you have an idea what the UNN post application exam looks like (its scope, nature, number of questions etc) at least, as at when you were there sir?
Education / Re: UNIZIK Isn't Admitting Students Into Medicine? by GideonOmach(m): 9:08pm On Jun 29, 2020
mannyiyke:
No, I'm no longer there. I left UNN a long time ago.

Alright sir. sorry for disturbing but, I don't know if you could link me up with anyone currently there. I'm a medical aspirant (who is considering UNN/EBSU for D.E) and I need a few information to acquaint me with the system around the school.

Thanks

Laughs. It has the fish type. There's no much difference between its flesh and that of a fish. What you probably are disgusted with is its subtle slimy nature and movement.

If you do eat at restaurants, it is possible that you may have eaten before without knowing because you are likely to think that you are eating a fish.

I am 26, a Microbiology graduate, presently undergoing my
NYSC. I have been planning to put in for medicine immediately
after my service easy (Direct entry). Pls what advice do u have
to render your Boy. Should I continue or i should go in search
of job after the service, as age is no longer by my side and I
am from a poor family that virtually most are expecting from
me. Pls push this to front page for reasonable opinions.

My counsel will not be absolute because this is a basically two way something as there is for everything.

if you say age, it is relative. I have seen many who were over 30 years go back to medical school; scores of them who got married, were engineers, already working, had undergone higher studies went back to medical school.

On the other hand, many, like you have complained, did likewise and there they found themselves not meant for medicine. Life goes on and they are doing fine, no regrets. They must have had their eyes on many things. perhaps they were more concerned about the pay, then, it became true that Time had gone truly, hence they had no trouble doing any other thing to generate money since it was about the pay.

if you have God and passion, you will be justified in the end, even though it may take long before you arrive; but if you don't, you'll look at going back as either a long way that may not be profitable when you could be doing something else and have profits.
Your best bet of Foresight now is your Fire and passion for the practice... not just the pay (there are far better paying careers than medicine like IT) but that joy in the end that you made it afterall.. it's worth it.

Studying medicine doesn't just earn you the license to practice, trust of your patients and respect from the public but those toils and the demands it places on you also gives you an opportunity as an advantage of process to see into and utilize the deeper part of you in order to build you into a better individual (i.e. if you your access to medical school is dual - you went through the school and the school went through you)!

if you are so impassioned but fear the bills, your passion can influence Faith in you and your Faith can make or connect ways for you. I've seen people who paid their way through medical school without a dime of their own pocket. it was scholarships and other digital services like essay competition. Money wasn't the problem for them.

if you feel you are so ambitious or doubtful, (either ways) but you also feel time is running out on you because of circumstances, go get something to do, work, settle down but if you really would have medicine, you cannot hold back but get back to medical school.

mbbs isn't a calling. It's just like any other course. I don't see any diff.

of course. we all see based on the way we are.
it is not a formal statement that it is a calling, it is a reckoning made to it because of the selflessness and commitment it demands which is also according to the positioning of the study/practice. do you understand?. That position and the level and quality of demand associated with it is not found with any other course of study, although they all be courses of study that opens up into their various practices, thus it is reckoned as a calling. you don't deal with it anyhow because it doesn't require anyhow inputs. it is deliberate about its demands.
you know that its breeds are different from other breeds of students and professionals. when you go about it like every other course, you will be receive recompense of it like every other course and you are sure to not ride along with it. I have said too much. I hope you now understand why it is held so as a calling.
