With all due respect, these are leaders that commands little followership if any at all. Acid test - let Gbenga Daniel, Fasheun and co go on the street and campaign for GEJ and see how much followership they have. Some people just want to remain relevant even when the have past their "prime"

That's impressive. You know, there is a time when one says "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. That is the stage our military is now. "the child wey talk am say im mama no go sleep, that pikin too wont sleep". We have a well trained Army. With the right training and armaments, Nigerian Military could take on/ confront any aggressor. Still the BEST, EDUCATED Army to me. As Ruthless as an Army.

Exactly my point all along. Those that believed Nigerian Army are not trained to handle a raghead minute group like boko haram were just ignoramuses or at least mischief makers. Now they should sincerely ask God for forgiveness for peddling silly/stup!d excuses why the Nigerian army was not able to handle boko haram. Their refusal to join in asking the government to do its primary responsibility has lead to the killing of 10000s of lives and millions displaced. This could have been avoided in less than 3hours.

I was just wondering if Abubakar Shekau is finally captured and makes confessional statements indicting some top opposition candidates and big witts...........could this be a game changer?

Share ur thoughts
What if Shekau's confessional statement implicates PDP? That will be a final nail on the coffin of the fisherman. If only our military can be non-partisan.
After 10000s of lives lost and millions displaced in time of peace, PDP/GEJ are now scheming to put the blame of their tool of terror on opposition. If the government is not complicit, and is serious about tackling boko haram, why on earth has no one been arrested for financing BH? What if Shekau is not captured? Does it mean no one will be punished for financing these guys? It was reported that soon after USA agreed with top Nigerian military/intelligence on the plan to use gas to make BH sleep off in order to rescue Chibok girls, BH started using gas masks. Over 200 girls were kidnapped in lorries in a state where should be checkpoint on the roads because of state of emergency. Was is also the opposition that instructed Nigerian army not to at least make an attempt to chase BH when the girls were kidnapped? Members of APC are the only group of people that can instruct the Nigerian Air Force not to give the army support from the sky.

There is no way GEJ/PDP can shift this blame on someone else. PDP is Boko Haram and Boko Haram is PDP.

Op, you simply mean that Nigerian law should be bent because of Buhari. Get this straight: Because Buhari does not have school certificate but can express himself in spoken and written English does not in any way take away the fact that we have Nigerians who have suffered to study to acquire certificates and can express themselves in written and spoken English better than Buhari.

I have met many people who don't have school certificates but are good writers and speakers of English language. You cannot justify Buhari's disrespect for Nigerian law with such baseless analogy. That's how Buhari refused to appear before Oputa panel. Are you saying those who sat down to outline (in the constitution) the presentation of school certificate to INEC were fools?
Which Nigerian law are you bending for Buhari? Produce that law or forever keep quiet.

skulboiy1990:
smileyNone of them has any credible agenda to deal
with, especially within the context of the
evolving global economy and Nigeria’s broken
public finance. In Nigeria’s history, the two presidents who
made the most fundamental transformation
of the economy, Babangida and Obasanjo,
were exceptional in the quality of the teams
they put together. I therefore pray that Buhari will be
magnanimous in victory – if the wins- to put
together a “team Nigeria” for the rescue
mission and I know if Buhari wins, he will ride
on the populist wind for “change”.
If Jonathan wins, then God must have been magnanimous to give him a second chance to
redeem himself. My advice to Gen. Buhari and his team is to
build a true political party with a soul from the
patchwork of political associations. It is
surely easier to oppose than to govern. Buhari
and his team must realize that they do not yet
have a coherent, credible agenda that is consistent with the fundamentals of the
economy currently. The APC manifesto
contains some good principles and wish-lists,
but as a blue print for Nigeria’s security and
prosperity, it is largely hollow. My advice to President Jonathan and his
handlers is to stop wasting their time trying
to campaign on his job record because his
record on the economy is a clear “F” grade. I
refer PDP as dining table politics, I am not
sure how many PDP members can tell you what their party stands for or its mission and
vision for Nigeria. I will like to draw the
President’s attention to two issues;
First, beside the coterie of clowns who
literally make a living with the sing-song of
transformation agenda, President Jonathan must know that it remains an empty slogan.
Second, Jonathan must claw back his powers
as President of Nigeria. He largely
outsourced them, and must now roll his
sleeves for a new beginning. I take liberty to
tell you this brutal trust: if you are not re- elected, there is little to remember your
regime after the next few years. Be assured that those of us who are prepared
to die for Nigeria will never spare you or
anyone else this bitter truth. Nigeria must survive and prosper beyond
Buhari or Jonathan!
this is ridiculously close to Prof. Soludo's first article comparing GEJ and GMB. As I read, I noticed exact same sentences in Soludo's article. Is this an adaptation of his article or what? I am asking because you are dangerously close to the definition of plagiarism.

Guys

The truth is raft we have some economic saboteurs here in Nigeria

Naira has stabilized at 198 at the interbank market but speculation and rent seeking at the parallel market is alarming

There is also the political aspect of it
The Northerners that controls about 90% of the BDC market are deliberately devaluing the Naira by creating artificial scarcity to give the Govt of GEJ a bad name - They buy from CBN weekly at 198 and refuse to sell to the public
This does not make sense even to a pry school student. Have you asked yourself who controls the CBN? Have you asked yourself why the CBN under FG (the same FG that is always ever so quick to blame north, opposition etc for all its failures) is still selling to the same people you accused of sabotaging the economy? The same CBN under FG is still empowering those that (according to you) want to give GEJ a bad name. The same CBN is effective in stopping the sale of dollars to ordinary citizens but will sell to those that will cause artificial scarcity (according to you) thereby sabotaging the economy.

Bros if you don't mind, please try another intelligent spin because this one cannot cover the obvious failure starring at all of us in the face.
PoliticsRe: 5 Hard Questions For Buhari's Supporters To Answer by gists: 3:07am On Feb 28, 2015
LagBlogger:
I want to understand a few things which I know will offend some Buhari supporters because they are quite embarrassing if you are sold out on the Buhari candidacy. By the way I won't be voting in this election so I'm not supporting Jonathan.

1) If Tinubu is Buhari's biggest Ally and Tinubu controls all the south west Governors except Fayose and Mimiko (if Fashola is in a government meeting and he receives a call from Tinubu to leave whatever he's doing and come to meet him at his house I'm quite sure Fashola would obey), that means Tinubu will play a key role in ministerial selection in Buhari's government if he wins. How will Buhari stop Tinubu from appointing his own stooges as ministers who will report directly to him or does he intend to betray Tinubu after being sworn in if he's serious about fighting corruption?
Very naive to say the least. So you seriously believe Fashola is such a dummy to leave the Federal Executive Council meeting because of a phone call from Tinubu. Fashola had in the past shown some element of independence when it was once rumoured there was a disagreement with Tinubu in Lagos. With Fashola at the federal level, he get a bit further away from Tinubu's reach (that is if the rumour is true to start with). Besides, does Tinubu also controls the senate and house? Even if Tinubu nominates all the ministerial candidates (which is not possible), will such candidates not be screened by the senate?

LagBlogger:
2) Does Tinubu love Nigeria more than he loves himself? If Buhari knows the real answer to this question, can he honestly say he'll be a serious anti-corruption crusader? Or is Tinubu also like Buhari, a man who hates corruption?
Buhari has said he will let the on-going cases proceed without federal interference and in other not to rock the both too much, he promise to only prosecute the new cases from May 2015. So, I don't see your point.

LagBlogger:
3) If APC represents change and change in this case means better governance, where will the patriotic Nigerians who will serve this country and produce this change we're talking about come from? a) Amaechi, Dino Melaye, Afikuyomi and co or is it b) Fresh incorruptible, competent Nigerians we've not heard of?
How is this an issue? The man will choose the best brain to work with (both from familiar names and newcomers) and they will naturally be screened by the senate.

LagBlogger:
4) In the event that APC loses this election and the come and chop battle begins are there any guarantees that present APC members won't decamp to PDP and chant different songs against Buhari in 2019 if he decides to contest again?
How many of the founding members of the APC have been known to be political prostitutes? Mind you, Atiku is not a founding member. These are men that have shown commitment to their course since 1999.

LagBlogger:
5) What makes APC the more reliable of the two front line parties in this election? a) Merely being an alternative to a bad government b) Being the real choice.

Waiting patiently!
I believe its a real change. But whatever anybody else chooses to believe, we have to know that it is important to prove to politicians that "sidon-tight" is not their birthright. The people reserves the right to vote out non-performing government with another one. And if the new government doesn't also perform we also reserve the right to vote it out too after 4 years.

It is not a crime for Buhari to travel abroad for medical treatment, what the PDP is asking to know is that the APC tell Nigerians whether or not Buhari is in the UK/US for meical treatment so that Nigerians can pray for him. Personally, I see nothing wrong with the PDP's position. On my own part, I will never play politics with the health of anyone, because it isn't worth it. But the APC should come clean... That is it!
How clean is clean enough? By admitting Tinubu is so sick and cannot recognise his family members? This was a silly propaganda that went viral some months ago courtesy of PDP. APC has said the General is not in any hospital. If anyone or group thinks/knows that is not true, the onus is on such group of people to provide evidence that GMB is on a sickbed - like some people will say video/picture or I don't believe it.
PoliticsGEJ In German Hospital!! by gists(op): 11:27pm On Feb 24, 2015
A few months ago, Nigerians woke up to the sudden disappearance of president Jonathan. The Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity) Reuben Abati tried to play down the president's visit to a German hospital by saying the president went on a "private visit".
Nigerians - both APC and PDP supporters wished the president well and prayed for him to get well soon. Nobody saw it as an "unpardonable crime against humanity" for the president to fall sick and to seek medical attention. After all he is just a human being. The only exception was that some of us questioned why our president (a serving one for that matter) like his predecessor, preferred to seek medicare abroad rather than equipping local hospitals and upgrading our health care system - subject of another debate.

See thread here: https://www.nairaland.com/1869783/president-jonathan-sick-flown-germany

Barely 6 months later, the hypocrites now cry to heaven because General Buhari is RUMOURED to be in a hospital in UK. I do not know and if I may borrow the president's words "I don't give a damn" whether or not General Buhari is in a hospital. When P-babe aka PEJ also seek medical attention abroad, nobody made it a show like this.

When senator david mark was flown to Israel for medical treatment, saTANist didn't see the heavens falling as a result of the ill-health of the country's 3rd citizen which sahara reporter termed as a mockery of our health care institution: http://saharareporters.com/2012/04/21/david-marks-israel-treatment-mockery-deplorable-health-system-nigeria

Similarly, Not much headline was made when Senator Magnus Abe of Rivers went to the UK to get treatment for a supposed gun-shot injury sustained when Mbu led Nigerian Police to disrupt APC rally in Port Harcourt.

The hypocrisy of these saTANist blinds them to the fact that as far back as 2012, Thisday carried a report that Nigerians generally spends about N80B on medical treatments abroad. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/okowa-nigerians-spend-n80bn-on-overseas-medical-treatment-annually/129897/

There are countless examples of Nigerians who have gone abroad to seek medical attention. Many of these cases did not raise this kind of dust. The genuine question that was asked is why should people like IBB (8yrs in Power); Yar' Adua/GEJ (both serving presidents) go abroad for medical treatment when they had/have the power, authority and resources to build and equip our health care infrastructures?

As far as I am concerned, there have been reports that the General is not in any hospital in the UK, but even if he is, "I don't give a damn"! The president, P-babe AKA mama-P, David Mark, Magnus Abe, Sullivan Chime and so many others living and dead have gone abroad for treatment at one time or the other without this crocodile tears (and I dare say even Ayo Fayose is not left out)

PoliticsRe: Why Should I Vote For APC In 2015? by gists:
Mynd44:
The APC which seems to be the main opposition to the PDP in Nigeria has for sometime now been vigorously pushing for the ousting of President Jonathan and his administration in the next general elections and they will need the votes of the general public. They’ve been doing some convincing to the people who are undecided, now regarded with the somewhat derogatory term of “fencist”. Right now, I find myself sitting down wondering about some important issues. My questions are based on these points.

Body Language: In the last Presidential elections, the APC (or if you like ACN) had a candidate to run against the president and just hours before the election, they allegedly dumped him for reasons best known to them. This singular act shows them as unserious and some might even say they are just in the race for running sake. In my opinion, the greatest damage done by that singular act was to their supporters and of course the candidate, AIG Nuhu Ribadu (rtd). After all the resources and funds put into a campaign you chicken out in the end and leave your people to dry? It speaks volume as they have set a precedence of them being unserious.

How is that your business? We that they left dry are not complaining. Stop taking panadol for someone else's headache.

Candidates: I am not comfortable with some presidential candidates the APC brought. Buhari, Atiku etc are not what I will call presidential materials either based on past mismanagement of funds or being a dictator to human right abuses. Why not others? How come more people are not opting to contest and seek office? Must we be saddled with the same old people? Yes we know people like Kwankwoso and Rochas contested in the primary but still it was evident from the start that it was a battle between Buhari and Atiku. Atiku was third (which remains a shocker)

When ACN chose Ribadu in 2011 as the consensus candidate, you people cried as if someone has collected your bread that the ACN did not have internal democracy. Now that PDP chose GEJ as its consensus candidate, that cry about lack of internal democracy suddenly disappeared. Now Buhari was elected in the most transparent primary with thousands of delegates nationwide and the primary was devoid of any sort of rancour and those that lost even congratulated him against the expectations of doomsayers like you. You guys now come out with bul! sh!ts asking for others. Didn't Kwankwoso and Rochas you mentioned not contest. I am sure you would have prefered the primary election to be rigged to favour your so called preferred candidates just like pdp rigged many if not all its primary elections. BTW if the APC primary was rigged to suite your preferred candidates, people like you would have still come out to castigate the APC for rigging. Just in case you have not noticed, APC leaders are not in politics to satisfy TANoids - sorry about that

Insecurity: This is another problem. We all admit that this is a problem for all Nigerians but has the APC done enough to fight it? Have they shown support towards fighting this scourge that has left thousands dead, about a million displaced and also fear in the heart of a lot of Nigerians? What has the APC done to support the fight apart from endless criticism? Have APC brought out or proffered solutions to fighting this? The killing of members of the NYSC in the North after the elections comes to mind. Some may say that most of the perpetrators were CPC supporters but they have joined the ACN to form APC, so APC should please answer. Statements: This is another point that has been scary (well to me). A lot of statements credited to top members of the APC has not been comfortable ones. I find it careless and annoying the statements I hear and sometimes, I fear they can cause war.

Notable amongst these statements is the threat by the Director-General of their Presidential campaign, Governor Rotimi Amaechi that a parallel government will be formed if they lose. Does anyone remember that this kind of action led to the arrest and detention of Chief MKO Abiola?

Now I have to say a BIG THANK YOU for admitting (even though indirectly because you may not realise what you are admitting) that this GEJ government is incompetent and cannot solve the problem of insecurity. Tell me which opposition candidate did OBJ or even Yar'Adua seek advice from before checkmating insecurity in their respective governments? Or are you so forgetful to remember that there were issues of insecurity that GEJ's predecessors faced? So it is now confirmed by a TANoid that GEJ is incompetent. Even at that, let it be on record that there were quite a number of suggestion given and I recall Tinubu's publication sometime last year where he gave his own little suggestion.

Political Prostitution: It is difficult seeing a candidate scream XYZ today and tomorrow screams ABC. Most of the members of the APC were once in the opposition which they labelled as thieves and corrupt. Look at the case of Ekiti where Segun Oni joined the APC. That is a move that shocked even me because everyone remember the propaganda war he had with Fayemi before the courts declared in Fayemi’s favor. Endless Criticisms: Okay so the APC plays the role of an opposition party well. Yes they know how to criticize everything this administration does when campaigning but is that what their campaigns are about? I am tired of hearing what the other guys are going, what do you have for us. When you criticize, you need to also give solutions so you don’t seem to be just doing it because you can or because you are against them. The APC and PDP are both agents of Nigeria’s development right but how about saying what the government is doing right and then when you say what they are doing wrong, tell them what they should have done.

please, I am trying not to use some not-so-good words on you. How on earth can someone say APC has not told Nigerians what it plans to do if elected. Of all the rallies around the country, you have not seen where they mentioned what they planned to do. OK let's assume you missed all the rallies, do you also miss their manifesto? I mean come on!

Future Plans: What does the APC have for us? What are their ideas, what will they do about security, poverty, electricity, mortality rate. Education etc. No one is talking about this or they are not talking about it enough. It seems to be a case of making a lot of noise but not really saying anything.

Ditto

Now after all these, please tell us why any sane Nigerian should vote for PDP - a party that presents a candidate who went dancing the next day innocent Nigerians were killed; a party that presents a candidate who doesn't think it is necessary to probe the NIS scam that lead to the death of young Nigerian searching for the opportunity to serve their fatherland.

GEJ is the worst thing to happen to this country. Thank God people are now aware of his evil nature and capacity. GEJ has less than 1 out of 6 chance to win on March 28 and he knows it. That is why he is running like a headless chicken visiting traditional rulers in SW and also trying to look like he is doing something in that last one week with several commissioning activities (which he didn't do in the last five years) just to deceive gullible Nigerians. His plans to postpone or install ING will never materialise by the grace of God.

If for no other reason, the mere fact that this devil incarnate brought politics of religion to SW is unpardonable. It is very rare (if ever recorded) that SW ask for the faith of a political candidate before deciding on who to vote for. Being corrupt and incompetent is bad enough but a government that tried to use religion to instigate people against one another is completely evil and this is more than enough to boot his as$ back to otueke come May 29.

They have not been able to produce any form of evidence crediting that statement to him. Yet they still shamelessly go about with this lie. I can't wait for march 28 to vote out a man who has commissioned so many projects in the last two weeks than he did in the last five years just for the sake of election.

OLADD:
Try to be objective in your reasoning. The success been recorded over Boko haram lately was partly due to the support of Chadian, Nigerien and Camerounian authorties who had hitherto been reluctant to key into Nigerian Army operations. Don't forget also that our attempts to acquire arms were frustrated by US and SA until we approached other more friendly nations.
gists:
GEJ is a gonner. He squandered his opportunity and the enormous goodwill he enjoyed in 2011 - especially in south west which happens to be the 2nd largest voting block in the country. Whatever the outcome of the military onslaught against boko haram, it will surely count against GEJ. The way I see it, there are only two possible outcome:

1: The military fail to effectively defuse boko haram. This will confirm the skepticism of Nigerians wondering how the military can tame boko haram in six weeks what they have not been able to do in six years. This will finally confirm that the GEJ administration is either not competent or at least not sincere about ending boko haram and in fact may be complicit -especially giving the fact that no high profile arrest of sponsors have been made after 5 years. War is an expensive venture and BH definitely has some big money bags as financiers. The DSS and other intelligence operatives in the country (all under the presidency) have not been able to pin any of the sponsors, but the DSS was super quick to detect the Hacking video tutorials which the APC was allegedly planning to use to hack into INEC database.

2: The military succeeds in checkmating boko haram. If this happen, it then mean that this administration deliberately left boko haram to kill tens of thousands of Nigerians for the past 5 years! It means the Nigerian army has the capacity and resources (both human and material) to eliminate boko haram in six weeks yet the terrorists were left to go on killing spree for 5 years unchecked -deliberately!
All the excuses put forward will amount to mere smokescreen deliberately put forward to justify the lack of decisive action against the terrorist group. Excuses like "the Nigerian Army is not trained to tackle insurgency", "the army is not well equipped compared to boko haram sophisticated hardwares" will all fall flat because the same Nigerian army that couldn't defeat BH for the past 5 years as a result of all these silly excuses are now able to perform the "miracle" in 6 weeks.

Now I know some people will say the NA is able to do it in 6 weeks because of the support from other countries. But our neighbours have been involved for a while and there are records that the Cameroonian Army had on a number of occasions recorded victory over boko haram. Even our own civilian JTF fighting alongside with the Nigerian Army had some measure of success against boko haram. So to say Nigerian Army has been in a solo fight against boko haram and that is why it was unable to defeat BH is not entirely correct. So it will be obvious that the Nigerian Army deliberately allowed (or made incapacitated by "orders from above" ) boko haram to kill 10000s of people even though as we can now see, it has all the resources to have easily eliminated BH.

The way I see it is that its a lose-lose situation for GEJ. I am sure APC is just using this "cool-off" time to put some facts together to pounce on the opportunity presented by whatever the outcome is.

I thought the entire PHCN was sold and handed over to private owners (except transmission). How come GEJ is commissioning a facility owned by private company? In that case, he might as well commission the new transformers installed by the new DISCOs.
