wat makes u tink buhari wud b beta?
Well, I will say I don't know but I want to find out.
But what I know is that gej has budgeted close to 100k per day to fuel his generator while telling us he is reforming the power sector.
How many Nigerians can afford 100k per month let alone fuelling generator alone with that amount on a daily basis.

I heard of a Ghanaian proverb that says if you refuse to sleep because of the fear of dying in the sleep, then you will die of sleeplessness.
In the same manner, if we refuse to vote for change because of the fear that the change may not be better than this useless self-centered and insensitive gov. then we are doomed.
I'd rather vote for a new candidate (who BTW has been tested and trusted in the past) than to continue with a known failure, self-centered and thieving of a government who claimed to have reformed the electricity industry but budgets 100k daily for generator. They claimed to have created many billionaires forgetting that even more people have not been paid salaries for the last three months and at a very high risk of losing their jobs.
If the new candidate also fails, then we vote him again come 2019 - simple.

PoliticsRe: Presidency, Others To Fuel Cars, Generators With N815.4m by gists: 11:09am On Jan 04, 2015
jnistrick:
President Goodluck Jonathan
The Federal Government has proposed the
sum of N815.4m in this year’s budget for the
purchase of fuel and lubricants for cars and
generators for the Presidency, Office of the
Secretary to the Government of the
Federation and their parastatals.
The amount was contained in the 2015 budget
breakdown which was obtained by our
correspondent on Friday, in Abuja.
The 2015 proposal of N815.4m, for fuel and
lubricants is seven per cent or N61,984,177
lower than the N877,472,369 approved in
2014.
Out of the N815.4m, the fiscal document
shows that a provision of N131, 911,315 was
made for fuel and lubricants for the State
House in 2015.
The breakdown of the figure for state house
shows that plant/generator fuel will consume
N35, 344,855
; motor vehicle fuel, N85,
843,802; and cooking gas/fuel, N10, 102,858;
this year.
The State House received lesser provision of
N122, 855,267 for fuel and lubricants in the
2014 fiscal year.

http://www.punchng.com/news/presidency-others-to-fuel-cars-generators-with-n815-4m/
The amount for generator consumption (N35, 344,855) breaks down to N96835.22 per day (i.e for 365 a year).
Does this not mean that our FG who claims to be working round the clock to improve electricity in the country does not have plan to take power from public utility? Is this not an indication that they know there won't be sufficient power for the public all year round?
If the state house plan to use N96,835.22 to fuel generator per day what does that say about availability of electricity in 2015?
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Army Dismisses 203 Soldiers After Secret Night Trial by gists: 5:36pm On Jan 03, 2015
For those blaming the soldiers, I guess it just shows we don't value Nigerian lives. The people that value their soldiers treat them with utmost respect for the enormous sacrifices they make and give them absolute support to get the much desired victory. This video clip show president obama's unscheduled visit to troops in afghanistan. The following is some extracts of the speech from the 8th minute to about 11th minute. Very inspiring and motivating:

.....I have made a promise to all of you who serve, I will never send you into harm's way unless its absolutely necessary. I anguish, in thinking about the sacrifices that so many of you make. That's why I will never send you out unless it is absolutely necessary, BUT THAT'S ONLY PART OF THE PROMISE BECAUSE THE OTHER PART OF THE PROMISE IS WHEN IT IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY THAT YOU WILL BE BACKED UP BY A CLEAR MISSION, AND THE RIGHT STRATEGY, AND YOU WILL HAVE THE SUPPORT TO FINISH THE JOB TO GET THE JOB DONE and I am confident that all of you are going to get the job done right here in Afghanistan. I am confident of that[...Applauds...]. That's why I ordered more troops and civilians here into afghanistan shortly after taking office. That's why we took a hard look and forged a new startegy AND COMMITTED MORE RESOURCES in December. That's why we pushed our friends and alies and partners to PONY UP MORE RESOURCES themselves of AIDS .......Many of the troops that I ordered to Afghanistan have already arrived and more are on the way. AND WE'LL CONTINUE TO WORK WITH CONGRESS TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU'VE GOT THE EQUIPMENT THAT YOU NEED particularly as we complete our draw down in Iraq. WE'RE PROVIDING MORE HELICOPTERS. wE'RE PROVIDING MORE INTELLIGENCE, MORE SPECIAL FORCES. MORE ARMOURED VEHICLES THAT CAN SAVE LIVES. HERE IN AFGHANISTAN YOU'VE GONE ON THE OFFENSIVE .......
www.youtube.com/watch?v=qR3ttb4hH0g

I have said this before but I will repeat it again. Contrast this to our CnC who refused to visit Chibok (which is part of Nigeria let alone visiting soldiers serving in foreign land) till date. His generals refused to give the soldiers the basics and when the soldiers asks for the basics, they get sacked without benefits (or sentenced to death). And some people are here calling the soldiers cowards. The real Coward-n-Chief leaves in Aso rock and still asking for another term
PoliticsRe: Ten Successful Reforms Carried out by GEJ's Government with Video Proof by gists:
seges:
Where is the reform for corruption? Why has'nt he got a single conviction in 6 years
Reforms for corruption? Ok let me give you some ideas of this man's definitaion of reform:

Alamieyeseigha impeached and jailed by obj administration for corruption has been granted pardon by gej. This means the man can contest for elections again.
Bode George convicted also during obj has the audacity to challenge his conviction and infact won the case. Today he is no longer an ex-convict and a pdp king-maker-wanna be in Lagos.
FFK had a case with EFCC, he was everywhere castigating pdp but when the nook tightened on his neck, he defected to pdp and somehow miraculously won the case. Today, he is the media director of gej campaign train.
Do I need to talk about correlation of oil-theft (or bunkering) that has risen to levels never seen before and our president giving the billion naira pipeline security contract to ex militants? http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/oil-theft-so-why-was-tompolo-paid-n15-billion-/151835/
BTW the oil theft has risen to such a high that it now affects the major oil companies (none of them made any major recruitment last year) to the extent that they are now selling their assets (to gov. cronies if you investigate) thus leading to sacking of a good number of oil workers.

So some of us are not even asking gej to solve all of nigeria's problems as that will be unfair. What we are saying is if you cannot make things better, stop undoing the very little gains we have had - i.e stop taking us back in time. It is bad enough gej cannot get more convictions, but for God's sake stop actively getting in the way of justice and aiding corruption.

The two life most threatening diseases afflicting this nation (corruption and insecurity) are the ones this government is either aiding or just plainly looking the other way. Absolutely nothing meaningful can be achieved when these two are thriving. I am yet to see a nation worthy of its name that does not have a bold fight against these two. To be conservative, at least $10b is missing, the people that couldn't account for the money are still in office. We have seen the type of train that was build with $3.4b in a sane country and the op wants us to be excited and grateful with decades-old locomotives.

Meanwhile, just in today on a lighter mode:

‘’Mr. President said he wants to put in place the institutions to tackle corruption before taking on the canker worm that has almost destroyed the fabric of our society. Pray, whatever happened to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC? Were they not institutions specifically created for the purpose of tackling corruption, but which the Jonathan administration chose to castrate?
‘’There is no better way to say this: President Jonathan lacks the political will to tackle corruption and he will not tackle it if he spends 60 years in office.’’
http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/01/apc-jabs-jonathan/

On security:
I have always believed this insurgency was treated with kids gloves by fg because of politics/elections.
Why on earth will it take the president weeks to admit girls were kidnapped in Chibok. To start with, why on earth will that number of people will be kidnapped in a state under emergency rule with military checkpoint everywhere? There are just too many questions begging for answers which never came until a few days ago. It somehow explains it and to some extents, puts the pieces together!

“We got permission to fly through Sudan and other countries but have been blocked by Saudi Arabia, which has impeded the urgency of the operation.”
He added that owing to Saudi Arabia’s refusal, the only alternative is for Nigeria to ship the armament by sea, but using this as an option would take much longer.

“If we resort to shipping the arms via the high seas, they would reach us well after the elections which may be too late for the desired impact, especially now that we have the insurgents on the run,” he explained.
http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/-s-arabia-refuses-to-grant-flight-permit-for-nigerian-arms-procured-from-pakistan/197883/

Meanwhile, at least $10b is still unaccounted for. The whistleblower was sacked not for embezzlement nor corruption but for ridiculous and shameless allegation of financial recklessness as a result of his donations to terror attack victims and donations to universities while the accused - i.e those that could account for such huge amount of money are still in office. To make matters worse, my president said if such money was missing "America will Know". Today the PWC report initiated by the minister of finance is still not released (was supposed have been released in Nov). Worse still, accroding to premiumtimes, the report may have somehow disappeared!

PREMIUM TIMES independently investigated the whereabouts of the report and its contents, several weeks before the statement released by the APC on Saturday.

At each turn, relevant government offices denied having the report despite confirmation by senior officials of the finance ministry to this newspaper that the report had since been submitted by PriceWaterHouseCoopers.

The sources said the document was submitted to the office of the Auditor-General of the Federation.

Our reporters contacted the offices of the Auditor-General and the Accountant- General repeatedly, pressing for the report, without success.

A spokesperson for the Auditor-General of the Federation, Florence Dibiase, said she was not aware of the report.

I remember sometime ago when president obama paid a surprise visit to american troops in iraq (or maybe afghanistan). One of the things he said to them is . . . . we will not send you in arms way except it is very necessary. And when we do, we will equip you will the best military equipment not only to protect your self but to get the job done.......

Contrast that with our CnC that refuse to visit Chibok and denied the military basic necessary hardwares to effectively combat the terrorist, expect soldiers to fight with 30 rounds or ammunitions and when they ask for the basics, they get sentenced to death or at least dismissed without benefit. Yet you want the rest of the soldiers to be motivated to effectively fight terrorists (whose sponsors by the ways have not only evaded arrests but also wine/dine with the president).

All before GEJ (and yes GMB contested the last two) yet there was no violent. The only presidential election supervised by gej is the one that claimed lives because of the ruling government failure to provide security since all they cared about was rigging.

Justcash:
In your attempt to rubbish the glaring milestones in the video, you have made very frivolous and ignorant statements. I don't mean to insult you o, but your response to this post revealed how much you don't know about transformation and development. Your "REAL-LIFE street facts", whatever it is, did not reveal any fact.

What does being the biggest economy have to do with withholding the salaries of workers? WHICH AGENCY RATED NIGERIA AS THE POOREST AFRICAN NATION? WHERE DID OIL WORKERS LOSE THEIR JOBS? You will do well to back up your frivolous statements with evidence. Moreover, if oil workers lost their jobs and the economy is not doing too well, do you have to blame the government for causing the economic crisis? Did the FG reduce the price of oil? You see? You know very little of what you are fast to respond to.

You have just announced to us that you are using an inverter. Good. How does that disprove or make FG's privatization useless? WHO ARE YOU TO SAY THAT THE STORY REMAINS THE SAME ALL OVER THE COUNTRY? DO YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT POWER GENERATION AND DISTRIBUTION IN THE PAST AND NOW? Here again, you showed that you know nothing about privatization, power generation and current dynamics in the Nigerian power sector.

About the roads, are you saying that what we are seeing in the video was distorted? Do you really think you can interpret everything the way you wish even in the face of glaring evidence? Did you even watch any of the videos?

Your statement about the Made in Nigeria cars is laughable. It shows that you underestimated how much reforms has happened in that sector. Just patiently watch the video before making any comment. You call the trains obsolete. Sigh, you are so ungrateful. Which advanced rail system were you riding in the past in Nigeria? Do you know that the same train is being used in more developed nations? How will you know when you have refused to do your research. Street facts indeed. SMH.

Your continuous use of the security situation to score points against the FG is becoming obsolete. ISN'T IT OBVIOUS THAT THE FG IS TACKLING THE SECURITY ISSUE HEADLONG? This is despite the fact that it is a war involving INTERNAL GUERRILLA WARFARE. Something that Nigeria is not used to. Gallant youths are in the forests dying for you, you are here mocking them. What a shame.

I'll leave you with some questions, "WHICH LEADERS FAILED TO UPDATE THE NIGERIAN MILITARY FOR MANY DECADES? IS THIS LACK OF UPDATE REFLECTING IN THE CURRENT FIGHT AGAINST INTERNAL AGGRESSION? IS THE FG STRIVING TO UPDATE THE MILITARY? If you can sincerely answer these questions, you'll be educated on the complexities involved in the current war.

If you must criticize, try to be objective or better still, present facts.
Its a new year. I intend to enjoy it with my family inspite of the many gov. failures. So I am not going to labour myself on countering all of your posts. But it appears you are either not in the country or just being mischivious.

You asked for proves, so I will just one ore two. You see, I am not an economist, but simple facts can't be ignored. No doubt Nigeria is a big market - the biggest in Africa because of our population. That is why the likes of MTN et al will not take the nigerian market forgranted. But you can't be the biggest economy and still can't afford to pay salary because the slide in oil price. Granted FG did not and could not have caused the slide. But the fact that our economy is hugely dependent on one comodity proves we are not even close to being a big economy let alone biggest. You can't be the biggest economy and your national currency keep losing value steadily - tell me one other "big economy nation" that suffers same fates. You can't be the biggest economy and one of your biggest industry (after agric) keep laying people off.

And to think you don't know all of this (or just pretending not to know) by asking for prove just shows that you are either not in the country or you are just being mischivious. I will not bother with links to the steady slide of the naira nor the inability of the fg and some state government (due to slash in their allocation by fg) to pay salaries. But here are some for you to ponder on (or to deny as is exected):

Nigeria Ranked Least Prosperous Nation In The World
In spite of the new found status of Nigeria as the largest economy in Africa, the country has been ranked not only as one of the world’s least prosperous countries in 2014, but also one of Africa’s poorest nation beaten by smaller countries like Niger, Benin, Mali and Cameroun, an annual global prosperity survey released this week has said.

PIB delay: No new jobs in petroleum industry....Nigeria loses $100bn investment .. As Agip, others sack secretly

Investigation by Nigerian NewsDirect revealed that all the International Oil Companies (IOCs) led by Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), Nigeria Agip Oil Company, Chevron Nigeria Limited and service providers led by Schlumberger Oil Field Services have put on hold recruitment of young graduates. It will be recalled that the industry workers unions under the aegis of Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Assocaition of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) and National Union of Petroleum and natural Gas (NUPENG) had protested over staff rationalisation by the IOCs in reaction to insecurity and rising cost of exploration and production (E&P) activities in the Niger Delta.

It is laughable to say you don't blame fg (who gave pipeline security to a known militant) for the loss of job in oil sector arising from oil theft. I guess you will blame the apc or northern elites - right?

PIPELINE VANDALISM: Shell Puts Oil Blocks On Sale, Moves To Exit Nigeria

http://www.ekekeee.com/pipeline-vandalism-shell-puts-oil-blocks-sale-moves-exit-nigeria/

On power sector: You don't know who I am, so you cannot say I do not know anything about power generation/distribution and dynamics. I am not the one saying the situation is the same all over the country. There have been several surveys here on nairaland to that effect. If you want to prove me wrong, be brave enough to start a fresh survey and find out. The question you should ask yourself is does Nigerians really care about privatisation of the power industry? For God's sake all we want is constant electricity - wether it is privatisation or "publitisation" doesn't really matter for now. People want to use electricity for there businesses and confort period!

For the roads, Unfortunately, I didn't go with my camera when I travelled through the Ore-Ijebu ode road and other segment of the East-West Road. But even if I did, I won't bother with pictures. There are more than enough examples of gov. failings on road even on Nairaland.

On security: Its going to six yrs since gej took over. And you still blame past administration for failing to equip the military. granted the past administration failed but what has gej done in the past 6yrs to make thing better for the military? I remember about 3 or 4 yrs ago when the defence budget was one-quarter of the national budget. Why was it not used to equip the army? And in what concrete way has this gov. made things better. For a start can you mention Which BH sponsor has been arrested? All we see/hear si FG take $9m dollars cash to another country and blame US, SA and now Saudi.

Again, its a new year. I intend to enjoy it with my family.

Here are some REAL-LIFE street facts for you to ponder on:

Biggest economy: Yet Thousands have not been paid for the last three months and there is no hope in sight. Thousand more have lost there jobs in oil sector. Any we have just been rated int'lly to be among the poorest in Africa! Naira is at an all time low - $5 is about N1000 .

Privatisation of Power sector: I type this using the power from my inverter which was charged with my generator. Story remains the same everywhere in the country.

Roads: I passed through the popular Benin road a few weeks ago hoping to experience smooth ride all through. While there are parts that have been resurfaced, the majority of the road (Ore to Ijebu Ode in particular) have no sign of being looked into. Nothing different from what other administation has done so far.

Auto Manufacturing Reforms: This make me laugh as we like to delibrately mock our intelligence. There is a whole world of difference between manufacturing and assembly. What we have is an auto assembly facility in absolutely no way different from the peought assembly plant in the north for many decades.

Oil Sector reform: I don't recollect any recruitment by any major oil company last year. Worst still they are down-sizing. No thanks the record breaking oil theft inspite of the fact that gej gave pipeline security to his kinsman who is a well-known militant.

Railway: Laughable locomotive in this age and time. I don't recollect where else these are still being used.

Agriculture: I can't speak on this but a lot of people seem to agree gej has done well here.

Airport reform: Just take a trip to any of the airpots that gulpped billions and check their state in less than 1 yr.

BTW of what good is all these (assuming they were all truly achieved) when the very basic responsibilty of goverment has suffered. Insecurity is at its peak. Infact, the total number of death (over 13,000 i.e thirteen thousand) in this administration is only second to that of the civil war!

My dear gists,
I must sincerely say that I am elated with some of your submissions. You seem to have a little bit more open mind than most folks I have interacted with on this forum who represent buhari.
Don't be excited. We are on different sides of a coin.

Whynotthetruth:
Did you see my issue with buhari candidacy as it relates to national assembly politicshuh?? For sure; those guys won't allow him get over once he's from opposition party(APC). And to lobby them is entrenching corruption morehuh?
No sorry to burst your bubble. I do not see it as an unsubmountable challenge. The will and the courage to do the right thing is not there in this administration. It may be though but certainly not a mission impossible. The alternative is to fold our arms, resign to fate and watch how they continue to rape the country. I heard of a Ghanian proverb that if you refuse to sleep because of the fear of dying in the sleep, then that person will die of sleeplessness. If we refuse to vote for change because of the fear that no one can tame corruption and the national assembly, then we are doomed. Can I ask how has gej handled the national assembly till date? Of all the ills bedeviling the assembly, the only thing that concerns the president is the removal of security from the speaker and an attempt to prevent him from presiding over the house. All simply because he dared to defect to opposition. Is this how we want it to continue? Definitely NOT!!

Whynotthetruth:
GEJ isn't corrupt to me but he may have corrupt individuals around him(which is not good). But the reality of the Nigerian state is that the good and responsible men, due to military recklessness abandoned politics(leadership) to crooks and rogues who destroyed Nigeria's value system. Now, the political, economic and every sphere is populated by these dare devils. You can't take a step without them rubbishing you and your government(read El-Rufai's accidental public servant). Most of those he painted as bad in that book; before he was witch hunted and forced out of PDP are in APC today answering progressives and saints with the same el-rufai. That's the irony of our political system.
Excuse me? Did you say gej is not corrupt? You have a president who actively get in the way of getting justice against corrupt individuals and you still say he is not corrupt. Even the speaker Tambuwal (when he was still in pdp) admitted it:

http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/tambuwal-jonathans-body-language-encourages-graft/166299/

Whynotthetruth:
See, where I gave example of what stakeholders in oil sector do. Even regulators(government agency) once you touch, they sabotage you with strike. And instead of Nigerians to condemn them, they turn against GEJ. Imagine subsidy, where the poor man now subsidizes oil for the rich today. But this would have been averted if subsidy was removed back in 2012.
You have no case here. Which administation did not face strike? There were strike during obj too. There are strive actions everywhere in the world. So to suggest strikes are to sabotage or fraustrate gej is just being mischievious. Now, since you mentioned subsidy, may I ask what has happened to the subsidy prob scam? How many of them have been sent to jail?

Whynotthetruth:
So in all, to me GEJ isn't corrupt and he is fighting corruption. He did it in agricultural sector. He is doing it in civil service(bedrock of corruption) today through introducing IPPIS and already over 65,000 ghost workers have been removed and still counting. If national assembly passes PIB which will open up oil sector to private sector participation with government as regulator. Corruption there will reduce. Power is coming back; hence corruption is going away there with prepaid meters. And others.
Don't even get me started on the above topics ;(

Whynotthetruth:
Why can't state governments complement these efforts by pruning their states toohuh?? Most governors especially opposition states shift their responsibilities to GEJ who takes all the heat alone. Why can't we hold our councillors, LGA chairmen, and governors to answer ushuh?? Eg today GEJ is intervening in both primary and secondary education which are constitutional responsibility of state governments including the almajiri something.
Which opposition state government is shifting responsibility to fg?
As for why not hold other tiers of gov responsible. Because he is the head and the accountability should start from him. Who will take you seriously when you refuse to lead by example - e.g blatantly refused to declare your asset or when you make careless statement that stealing is not corruption. Or when you award pipeline surveyllance contract to a well known militant.
Source: http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/oil-theft-so-why-was-tompolo-paid-n15-billion-/151835/

By the way, since then, oil theft has grown exponentially unchecked. Who will take you serious about accountability with all these attrocities and many more! How can you demand for accountability when the head is seen as actively promoting corruption.

"The issue of public asset declaration is a matter of personal principle. That is the way I see it, and I don’t give a damn about it, even if you criticise me from heaven. When I was the Vice President , that matter came up, and I told the former President (late Musa Yar’adua) let’s not start something that would make us play into the hands of people and create an anomalous situation in the country." . . . . GEJ
Source: http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/5741-i_wont_declare_my_assets.html
Whynotthetruth:
Government and development is a continuum. And with all that GEJ has done and achieved. It can only be good for him to continue and finish it up. New government with different team means starting again with errors which the previous team might have learnt from and overgrown.
gej has been in power for 6yrs. today Nigeria is worse of than when he came in 2009. and you still want him to continue. smh

Whynotthetruth:
Believe me; with private sector participation which GEJ is championing today. Corruption will drastically reduce. Howhuh No free lunch(money & allocations) from government agencies for civil servants and politicians to loot anymore.
at the bolded - pls tell me you are joking

Whynotthetruth:
Or do you think dangote or flour mills or innoson or bua group or any other private organization would allow looting of his investmenthuhhuh
That is the point! Go ask shell why they are drastically downsizing. With the rate at which most companies are losing revenue due to corruption (especially oil companies with the constant oil theft inspite of Tompolo being in charge of pipeline security - appointed by corruption lord GEJ) it is clear that Nigeria is on the brink of total collapse.

Seriously, he cannot even jettison jabagan interest for that of buhari...so in the end; jagaban hijacks the presidency of buhari and calls the shots from Lagos...will corruption gohuh??

How do he plan to control the most times quarrelsome national assembly or does APC believe too they will win majority therehuh? PDP will try frustrating him through the national assembly and in the end, it may boil down to bribing them again to cool down and play along. By so doing; is corruption not being entrenched further in the polityhuhhuh

Fighting corruption goes beyond word of mouth...Most states including APC States are ridden with corruption and corrupt officers; who is promoting themhuh? GEJ toohuh? A governor recently donated cars to all national executive of APC; is the money from state coffers or his personal fundhuh?? So how will they fight corruption which is in themhuhhuh?

The bitter truth is that the heart of man is desperately evil hence in all; Corruption can NEVER stop but may be minimized. America and Uk today have corrupt officers too. No nation is free. Corruption maybe minimized Not by these boys shouting "sai buhari" or by any agency but simply by providing opportunities and engaging in national reorientation crusade to respect values, integrity, hardwork, etc more than money.

Most of the young ones or these others shouting corruption are neck deep into the mess. They steal in their little association, clubs, manoeuvre in schools, bribe their ways, jump queues, seek out shortcut to wealth without labour, respect a yahoo guy with enough money to spare than their poor secondary school teacher in his school, etc Its not just about leadership deficit but a foundational problem.

God save us all...Amen.....thanks for your mail bro...I appreciate...
I have never said GMB will end corruption. What I have always said is we need GMB to eliminate insecurity and reduce/minimise corruption. With the abysmally low level of our value system, it is just self deceit to say one man or one administration can end corruption. Here are some of my quotes here on nairaland in the past.

gists:
I am yet to see a country that is corruption-free! I didn't say I voted GMB to end corruption, I voted him to end militancy and REDUCE corruption and not fuel it as we have today! You can read my post again to reconfirm. If anybody thinks there is an angel somewhere in this present day Nigeria that will end corruption in two terms is just fooling him/herself. GMB is certainly not a god. He has is short-comings many of which has already be correctly listed. But I hope you'll agree he will do a better job at managing corruption is this country of course this nonsense insurgents.
and another example of where I stand:

gists:
You still don't get my point. Are you concerned about getting rid of corrupt old cargos alone? What about the new age corrupt men and women? Let say for a minute we are able to get rid of Obj, aneneh, tukur, nwobodo et al. Who do you suggest we replace them with? Do we replace them with GEJ, Fayose, obanikoro, Amechi, Akpabi, kwankaso? Which of them is clean. Or is it the delegates that are now being induced financially?

My point is these so called corrupt old cargos and new age thieves are not our problems because ultimately, we put them there because of our extremely low values system.

For me our value system didn't erode over-night and we shouldn't expect a revolution to correct it (because we will be deceiving ourselves). We need a leader that can "knock" us back in-line for a start. But one administration cannot start and finish the "rehabilitation" so we need to sustain that by electing another good leader who will lead by example and less afraid of stepping on some big toes. That process can start today by rejecting atiku's money.
Having said this, I don't believe all hope is lost. And unlike you, I don't believe all we can do is fold our arms and re-elect gej just because we think no one can stop corruption. I still strongly believe gej is not the ans. infact he makes things worse. We need someone to kick-start the reversal of this corruption entrenched system of ours and that is where GMB comes in.

I have answered your question but you refused to accept it. I am not going to bother about your list because I am not ready for ready-made comment - "another epistle laden with irrelevant inaccuracies". Suffices to say that getting the judiciary back on its feet and not getting in the way of justice will go a long way in fighting corruption. BTW I am AMAZED that you think the judiciary (that aquitted Ibori) is clean in this country.
Bode George is now a clean man (I mean he is no longer an ex-convict, which means he can contest election and hold public office), Cecilia Ibru got 6 months. The george in charge of Erastus Akingbola's case we heard was suddenly promoted - too many to mention. EFCC is essentially dead. Let them even do "selective witch-hunting" like during obj's tenue as long as the accused is not innocent of the charge.

Why're you being selective even in the ones you quote. Why not answer all the questions therein.
Now I really have to focus my energy on things that are more productive as I said before.
But I will just like to add a final note. Why will my analogies not be empty to you? Why are you so averse to reading facts from recognized news outfits.
Your phobia to reading verifiable fact prevented you from reading my response otherwise you would have read where I answered your question and even gave you example of FFK. If it was Buhari, he won't get in the way of justice. There are many more examples but I will save my energy since you can't see the weighty implication of the president actively preventing justice. Letting the law take its course is more than 50% of fighting corruption. But of course this is another cork and bull story in your opinion.

The billions of naira that was donated at the gej campaign launch is about a quarter of most states budget - if not more for some states. I know this is another irrelevant analogy in your opinion, but did you ask how gej (the current president seeking a re-election) will prosecute those donors? Oh, Sorry for asking the wrong question, corrupt individuals have alway seek asylum under gej's pdp umbrella because gej have never been know to prosecute them.

Now, first, what I need is Buhari's manifesto not APC manifesto...What's his template?? what and what has he mapped out and how he intends to achieve them.huh
Believe me, any serious candidate would have drawn up a guide long time ago(remember, he's being in the race for long)....Where is that of buharihuh Where he did an analysis of our current status and how to take it forwardhuh??

Mind you my bro, I am no politician. I am just a concerned citizen who believes in honesty and hard work...thank God so far for his grace to me...

APC(ACN,CPC,ANPP)/PDP are all guilty of rigging and underage voting and registration...it simply boils down to a question of who outsmarts the other in any contest...

In the case of Sanusi, blowing whistle for me is childish...He was part of the government... what stops him from verifying his claims before going publichuh why would he discover some misgivings without giving his principal a benefit of doubt licked the letter to the presshuh? Imagine, your wife has a damaging information about you instead of first coming to discuss with you....she licks the information to outsiders thereby embarrassing you(husband) before now coming back to discuss with you....How would you feelhuh...sacking him to me was necessary... whyhuh If you have worked in any reputable organization... on assumption, you sign an oath of secrecy not to disclose official secret to outsiders and to follow official line of resolving conflicts....is sanusi suppose to embarrass his boss like that even when he wasn't sure of the actual figure....huh?

What do we Nigerians really wanthuh When security was provided in ekiti and osun, we screamed militarization... what do we wanthuh bro, atimes I pity these leaders seriously... The truth is that the post election violence was done by buhari fanatics....

I listened to that presidential media chat and also, heard his analogy and how he arrived at that "stealing is not corruption" dictum...which most of us today quote OUT OF CONTEST... Did you hear when auditor general said NNPC account is too complex(not normal day today cashbook and balance sheet account) for his staff to understand and analyse...huh Are you aware when they(FG & Senate) invited an international agency to undertake the audithuh
Are you aware when the minister said few weeks ago that the audit firm will be rounding off their assignment soonesthuh? So what again do you want GEJ to dohuh? To sack all NNPC staff when he is yet to even know exactly what is missing and how it is missinghuh? Even you wrote $20 & $10 billion hence acknowledging same confusionhuh??
I just want you to sincerely ask yourself - which sane country will leave a civil servant in office (or even in private sector) who has been indicted of corrupt practices of such magnitude? You leave him/her in office while investigation is on-going so he/she can tidy up the loose ends and clean the records abi? Very daft.

As for election security. It just shows your hypocrisy again. In how many states have election been held after 2011? Why was it that only elections in APC controlled state in SW militarized? Did election not hold in Anambra, Ondo (non apc controlled) and edo (non SW)? Were all those not considered free? So it is only elections conducted in APC states in SW (a region that had the most reasonable result in 2011 compared to 93%, 95% etc election results in SE) Ekiti and Osun that deserved to be militarized. Chief Oyegun said in the wake of the election in Osun that he (Oyegun) and only APC officials/agents were arrested. There is absolutely nothing wrong in arresting them as long as they are found guilty of anything that could have undermined the election. But till date, there has been nothing they were accused of. All pdp officials were saints on that day I guess. Just continue with your hypocrisy.

BTW mobilising military men during election is different from providing security after the results are out. There was no case of violent during election in 2011. I guess the main aim is to flood everywhere with military men during the election, but when you have achieved your aims, you recall the military guys and the people can do whatever they like to themselves - right?

I am pretty sure no one can convince you of the ineptitude and corruption and the impunity in this gov. So, I just save my energy and focus my efforts towards more productive ventures.

Whynotthetruth:
Anyway, this thread isn't about GEJ....so why not take me back to our topichuh? how will buhari fight the likes of jagaban, bukola saraki, amechi, et al who are neck deep into corruption....huh?? If he sincerely believes in anti-corruption crusade; why would he allow them to use state resources for his personal ambitionhuhhuh? remember, he said he has only one million naira....or will it be about selective justice, selective prosecution, selective victimization, selective witch huntinghuhhuh?? how will he do ithuh?? In this jet age...under democracy...with human rights law.....how will he do ithuh? not just shouting "I will stop corruption"...Howhuh?..... I will provide electricity.... howhuh?....present a working verifiable template; let's see....
As for the campaign manifesto of Buhari. I am not aware he has officially started campaigning. Why not wait for him to start his campaign then ask this question. For me I am not looking for much from buhari, just provide security (because we have been waiting for decades and we can continue to wait for good roads, electricity etc but we cannot afford another day of insecurity) and a sincere/brave reduction of corruption - Period. That will set the stage for real growth for the next administration to build on. There is no any nation can have any kind of meaningful growth when its plagued with these two tragedies.

BTW I don't recollect what gej's manifesto is other than to regurgitate the failed promises of 2011 - the 2nd niger bridge, the anambra port, electricity come to mind - failed to deliver all of this after 6yrs of blaming everything and everybody and even dragged us behind with religious divisional antics.

It was simply a section by section statement of myopic, sentimental, indiscreet and propaganda based words...So no need honouring such with my time and energy.
As a leader, to answer your question... you consider the bigger picture of security, economic and general implications of your decisions and actions.
Mind you; I choose my words. I don't like you base on sentiments hence I never said buhari sponsors boko haram because I have no evidence to substantiate that claim...but his numerous statements shows that he is 100% sympathetic to them and he believes Nigeria should be islamized...remember boko haram acknowledged this fact by appointing him as their mediator with FG...
In all, GEJ can't arrest him for simply showing sympathy to boko haram because its not a crime constitutionally.
More so, GEJ in his mien allows opposition to get away with some treasonable statements(remember, amechi's talk of parallel government)... Same is applicable in his allowing buhari get away with some irresponsible and parochial statements...
Anyway, I am still waiting for you based on the topic of this thread to tell me where buhari will derive the moral right to fight corruptionhuh?? since he is already soaked and surrounded by corruptionhuhhuh?
Where is his manifestohuh?? Or is his manifesto "insulting GEJ" without basis...huhhuh
For APC manifesto, do a simple google search on nairaland. Its been posted on a number of threads on NL. As to how Buhari will fight corruption, that is the simplest thing to do on this planet. First, he simply need to lead by example and not stand in the way of justice like gej was/is doing. FFK has some case with efcc. He know he will be off the hook if he joins the gej team and that is exactly what he did. Today ffk is off the hook and he is antagonising the opposition. Corruption cannot be stopped by one administration. I for one NEVER asked gej to stop corruption because like I said many times in the past, gej didn't start it. What I and many Nigerians accuse him of is his getting in the way of justice and shielding corrupt people from prosecution. Why on earth will a president call stealing "common". NNPC $20b is a classic example where the whistle blower got sacked and those that could not account for money are still in office. But to you I guess I am being myopic and sentimental.

Now on the issue of Bigger picture vis-a-vis GMB's arrest. Here you go again accuming me of being sentimental when I only presented the facts as-is. And please spare us the hypocracy of "you consider the bigger picture of security, economic and general implications of your decisions and actions."

why was the bigger picture foreign investment and economic implications not considered when he sacked SLS for blowing the whistle (even if he was wrong) over the unaccounted $20b. Instead he sacked the CBN governor sighting laughable accusation of financial recklessness (not corruption or embezellment) while those that cannot and have not accounted for the other $10b are still in office. Today price of crude oil have dropped substantially and within three months we are already feeling the heat.

Why was the bigger picture of security not considered when pdp used underaged voters in 2011 and failed to provide security? Don't tell me it CPC that was formed barely 4months to the election, without any state government backing that pulled that staunt off. BTW check the picture below before you accuse cpc of using under age voters.

In the end, innocent lives were lost because the government was not responsible enough to provide security for it people. YOu later turn arround and blame it on GMB.

BTW it looks like you have not been following that case that is why you still believe GMB was behind the loss of lifes after the election.

Abati that started this propaganda has been sued to court by Gen. Buhari in a N1b lawsuit. Luckily for him, GEJ came to his rescue with an apology to GMB and persuaded GMB to settled out of court. Abati not only retracted the publication but also published an apology stating this propaganda you are so busy spreading is completely false. Read and be informed - except of course you are just being mischievous as usual

Presidency begs Buhari to settle slander case out of court
http://dailypost.ng/2013/01/13/presidency-begs-buhari-to-settle-slander-case-out-of-court/

The presidency has begged former Head of States and national leader of Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) to settle out of court the libel suit he filed against the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr Reuben Abati.

It would be recalled that Abati had on page 51 of the April 22, 2011, edition of The Guardian newspaper, written an article entitled “For the attention of General Buhari,” where he claimed that Buhari made an unguarded statement which stirred the post-election violence that almost tore the nation apart.

The former Military General however, regarded the publication as libellous, aimed at denting his hard earned name and image.

Buhari consequently dragged Abati and The Guardian Newspapers to court via suit no. ID/837/2011, demanding N1billion damages from them.

However, in a copy of the Terms of Settlement filed before a Lagos High Court in Ikeja, the ‘warring’ parties have agreed to settle the matter out of court.

According to the terms of settlement, dated December 2012 and filed before the administrative judge of Lagos State, Justice Opeyemi Oke, the claimant (Buhari), Mr. Tope Adebayo ( lawyer to Buhari), Abati and Mr. Kunle Sanyaolu (lawyer to The Guardian) signed the terms of settlement. But the lawyer to the first defendant (Abati), Dame Carol Ajie, refused to sign the document. The refusal may not be unconnected to the conditions and terms of the agreement.

It was gathered that the parties further agreed that Abati and The Guardian should retract and apologise to Buhari in certain form and contents.

The terms of settlement reads in part: “The claimant (Buhari) and defendants (Abati and The Guardian) have agreed that the defendants should publish a retraction and an apology to the claimant on the Opinion Page of the newspaper, to be printed in reverse line black (RLB) within seven days of entering the Consent Terms as the judgment of the court in two editions of The Guardian.

“The claimant and defendants have agreed and resolved that the retraction and apology shall take the following form and contents: ‘Re: For the attention of General Buhari’- On April 22, 2011, The Guardian Newspaper published an article on Page 51 titled ‘For the attention of General Buhari’ where certain allegations were made against General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), GCFR, concerning the 2011 election and General Buhari’s alleged role in the violence emanating from the elections.

“The publication was based on information which we believed to be reliable at that time. Since the publication, however, we now have reason to believe that certain parts of the story were not verified to be correct before the publication.

“We assure General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), GCFR, of our highest esteem and regret any distress or embarrassment which the said publication may have caused him.

“The claimant and defendants agree that on the execution of these Terms of Settlement, the defendants are discharged from all or any liabilities or obligations arising from the said publication.”

What do you expect when people act before they think.

What do you expect when a president who is supposed to be a father to all open his mouth and say it is the vote of igbos that brought him to power. Forgetting that SE has the least number of states, the least number of senators and the least number of voters.

What do you expect when Clark - a supposed elder statesman - open his man and say opposition wants to kill the president forgetting that many northerners openly campaigned and rigged election for gej in 2011.

What do you expect when a president politicize the highly respected office of the CAN president in a foolish bid to rally christians behind him (forgetting that the country is split roughly evenly between christians and muslims)

What do you expect when the private jet of the CAN president was caught with over $9m trying to buy weapons from Israelis - (the southern christians would have shouted islamization of nigeria if the private jet of sultan of sokoto was caught trying to buy weapons from Iranians)

RELIGIOUS/TRIBAL POLITICS IS A DOUBLE-EDGE SWORD. IT WILL HURT THE OPPOSITION IN ONE DIRECTION AND HURT YOU EVEN MORE IN THE REVERSE DIRECTION.

I actually wanted to respond to your long epistle of inanities but on a second thought...is better I ignore you since you have chosen to ignore the truth and stand facts on its head...
It is actually disheartening when you see folks like you; who blinded by sentiments refuse to see reason and they keep grappling with straws...
Mind you; give me whatever name that pleases you and pour insults and invectives on me but it still doesn't change the fact that you are fighting a lost battle...
I will be proud to have him as a dad bro...he is a man of uncommon destiny...
Keep dreaming bro...GMB till you wake up!!!
hahaah A section-by-section response to your posts with facts suddenly become epistle.
And very typical of TANoids you ran away from the very same question none of your folks has ever been brave enough to answere. But just maybe you didn't go through the "epistle", I will repeat it again:

Scenario:
1) If you are the President, you command all the security and intelligent outfits of this country.
2) You are running for 2nd term but your biggest opposition is confirmed guilty of terrorist acts.
3) You have all the facts from all the security and intelligent outfits (which are all under your control).
4) You know that you will get maximum support from SW, SS and SE if you can arrest this guy and present bulletproofed evidence.
5) YOU WILL GET MAXIMUM SUPPORT FROM CHRISTIANS AND UNBIASED MUSLIMS, FROM ALL REGIONS ESPECIALLY IN SW, SS & SE AND YOUR 2ND TERM BID WILL BE A PIECE OF CAKE.

Now giving the above scenarios, if the bolded part of item two is really true as you are trying to make us believe, then here is the question:

WHY ON EARTH WILL YOU NOT GET HIM/THEM ARRESTED WITH ALL THE RESOURCES AND EVIDENCE AT YOUR DISPOSAL?

It just doesn't make sense that you are the president and your biggest opposition is guilty of terrorist acts and all you can say is "they will shout witch-hunting".
I repeat: IN A SANE WORLD IT IS CALLED THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF INCOMPETENCE - PERIOD!!

But then, I don't expect you to have a rational/sensible explanation because there is none! You people are just being sentimental because he put Azikwe in his name and he is christian from the south.

First you are even a far much bigger a$$hole for your insult on me. Did I attack you? I called gej your brainless father an a$$hole not you and you pounced on me. What for if I may ask? Bush, Obama, OBJ, Yar'Adua were all insulted you did not defend them, But you will rather sell your soul in defence of the inept mor0ns occupying aso rock who thinks common stealing is not corruption.

Now to your issues:

Whynotthetruth:
How did the religious card issue come on highhuh
Did GEJ advise christians to vote only christainshuh NO
Having broken a gentleman agreement he had with pdp, gej went further to start pushing for 7yr term right from the begining. Knowing he up against some major power brokers, he decided to go spiritual by giving it religious coloration. Making it look like the northern muslims hate him - a southern christian.

http://saharareporters.com/2010/12/19/jonathan-seeking-7-year-tenure-meets-tb-joshua-and-attends-redeemed-church-holy-ghost
They say action speaks louder than voice. With this gej tell nigerian christians to rally behind him. But before you say what is wrong in kneeling down at the holy ghost congress, ask yourself is gej the 1st and only christian president in nigeria? Is he more christlike than obj, gowon, ironsi? whether you accept it or not, this action galvanised a lot of christian sentiments against muslim north and the reslut was clear in 2011 election. DO I need to tell you about how the highly respected office of the CAN president has been politicized and brought to ridicle under this administration? What will you say if you were a muslim to find out the private jet of the CAN president is involved in the transfer of over $9m of cash to buy weapons from Israeli men! You may wish it away as non-relevant but to many muslims especially in the north the president is using the CAN office to wage war against them.

Whynotthetruth:
Did BUhari encourage murder of christianshuh YES!!! when he encouraged sharia system in Nigeria and threatened for make Nigeria ungovernable...
You said it yourself. Ignorance kills more than AIDS. Where in the world (not just Nigeria) is Sharia meant to kill christians. Not even in Saudi Arabia or any arab state. Where have you heard christians are being killed just because the country runs solely on sharia? I remember OBJ's response to Sharia when it started (yes it came to public knowledge during OBJ tenure). "Real Sharia will survive and political Sharia will die a natural death" That is how a real leader should behave. Was OBJ not a christian from the south? Did the political Sharia not die a natural death during obj's tenure? Having said this, I cannot even confirm if GMB actually encouraged sharia as there was no record he did this when he was the commander of the supreme military council. He had all the powers and his deputy and some members of the supreme council were also muslims. Nothing was in his way but the history book did not say he had any plan for sharia. Now even if GMB encouraged sharia, it is in no way suggestive of encouraging murder of any group or religion.

I see you are among those brainwashed that Buhari was the one that threatened to make nigeria ungovernable. The challenge has been thrown at you guys to PRODUCE ANY KIND OF EVIDENCE -BE IT NEWSPAPER, YOUTUBE VIDEO, RADIO RECORDING ETC where Buhari made that statement. The person that made that statement is one Lawan Kaita or whatever his name is. He was and he is still a PDP member probably still dining with gej.

Whynotthetruth:
(its an open secret that GEJ cannot directly move against GMB today no matter his crime...whyhuh the opposition will cry witch hunting and northerners will cry victimization)
This is why this country still remains like this. I have asked this question from your fellow gej TANoids. They usually keep quiet and run away. I hope you will sincerely answer this question:

If you are the President, you command all the security and intelligent outfits of this country. You are running for 2nd term but your biggest opposition is confirmed guilty of terrorist acts. You have all the facts from all the security and intelligent outfits (which are all under your control). You know that you will get maximum support from SW, SS and SE if you can arrest this guy and present bulletproofed evidence.
WHY ON EARTH WILL YOU NOT GET HIM/THEM ARRESTED WITH ALL THE RESOURCES AND EVIDENCE AT YOUR DISPOSAL?
YOU WILL GET MAXIMUM SUPPORT FROM CHRISTIANS AND UNBIASED MUSLIMS, FROM ALL REGIONS AND YOUR 2ND TERM BID WILL BE A PIECE OF CAKE. It just doesn't make sense that you are the president and your biggest opposition is guilty of terrorist acts and all you can say is "they will shout witch-hunting".

IN A SANE WORLD IT IS CALLED THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF INCOMPETENCE - PERIOD!!

Whynotthetruth:
why would a state governor not forge a common front with FG but for the sake of politics leave his state(he is chief security officer notwithstanding emergency rule.. all state fund go to him as well as day to day state activities) and rush to London to castigate FG and shift blames...It is this distrust that complicated the tragedy of chibok...
Seriously, at this point, I wanted to just stop responding as it is now obvious how ignorant you are. In a state of emergency the governor is powerless. By right the governor should have even been removed! But gej needed someone to keep blaming that is why he left the governor in the office. Was the army deployed by the governor? The army and all the country's security apparatus report altimately report to the the presidency not the state gov.

Again TANoid blaming everything and everybody and never admitting failure. So it is the uncooperative state governor whose authorty was undermined complicated the Chbok girls issue. I guess it was his lack of cooperation that made FG to refute the story for several weeks before they even admitted the girls were truly kidnapped. It is still his lack of cooperation that made their release (whether by negotiation or full military action) impossible for 8 months.

Whynotthetruth:
Quote me anywhere; boko haram no matter what the army & FG do today can NEVER end till the northerners say; "enough is enough". Boko haram is still standing and gaining strength today simply because of LOCAL SUPPORT, LOCAL SYMPATHY & LOCAL INTELLIGENCE...
Another blunder. I am sure you were proud of Israel when it launched attack on Palestine. Why did you not advocate Palestine should say enough is enough with Hamas? Responsible government world over will not wait for any group to protect the lives of its citizens. You are indirectly saying gej is incompetent to provide security and that its the northerners say no more fighting. As much as I disliked OBJ, you guys are making him look like a saint. How did OBJ handle insecurity?
BTW where are the locals that have sympathy for boko haram? The locals that BH kills at random indiscriminately. The locals that their emir had to run for his life and only returned a few days ago? GEJ is just incompetent PERIOD!

Whynotthetruth:
Buying security equipment isn't like buying cheese balls or buying fish at oyingbo market...lots of protocols and processes(not an excuse). But remember, which leader gradually depleted and disarmed our army and armoury. Our armoury is down to nothing for years running... Can you re-equip them overnight?? NO...Are their sabotagehuh Yes...so many players with so many hidden and ulterior motives on the international scene...
Maybe you have forgotten that gej has been in power for 6 years out of our 16yrs of democracy. The budget for security had always been huge (sometime as high as 25% of the entire county's budget) how come you are still saying our arsenal is still empty after 6yrs of gej rule. Yes we may not be able to tackle major powerhouse in Africa, but for BH to get nigerian army running after trillions of dollars on security year after year under gej speaks volume of how corrupt this administation is.

Whynotthetruth:
Are there room for improvementshuh Yes...
Are we on the right trackhuh Yes...
NO!! We are not on the right track. This is the delusion that you guys are giving gej and you are not helping him. How can we be on the right track when the sponsors are still on the loose? No major arrest after over 10000 lives lost and still counting. If you have a tap leaking in your house, will you not block the leak before you start mopping the floor? GEJ is mopping the floor when the sponsors are still bank-rolling terrorists. BTW I am just assuming (just to give gej the benefit of the doubt) that FG does not have a hand in sponsoring BH. How can he be contesting election and your enemies (be it in pdp or apc) are frustrating you. The least you can so is get them arrested and show the world the evidence that they are sponsoring BH.

Whynotthetruth:
Are their quick fixes to these challengeshuh NO...
If anyone or BUHARI says he can stop them overnight. There are two possibilities in that assertion.(1)It is either he is the problem hence he will change his ways or (2) He has, breeds and knows the problem, hence can always call them in at his own time...
Which one is Buhari if he can fix all these challenges overnighthuhhuh?
There are always short term solutions as well as long term goals. Get the sponsors arrested on the short term. My primary school boy knows you don't mop the floor when the leaking pipe has not been blocked. GBM knows this and it doesn't mean he is a sponsor.

Whynotthetruth:
Fine bro...don't grapple with straws joor...give 2k to the smaller family and 5k to bigger family...does it make sense to you nowhuh which family do you think will come out stronger in the long run....huh
Check world's index on poverty in India, China and Nigeria as against those with less population density and landmass...
I am not making an excuse for several years of decadence in our leadership... but under GEJ are we moving on or making head wayhuh? Of course yes.....
Is buhari having a magic wand for automatic reversal of all these years of decadence which he contributed to in the 80'shuh? Absolutely NOOOOOOOOO....
Buhari is no messiah to do quick fix to our challenge...
Note that Nigeria's challenge has no quick fix...it must involve a meticulous and consistent policy formulation and constructive action...
I am not sure I understand your logic here.

To start with I am tempted to say that if you combine the resources of many (if not all) of those small African countries (Mali et al), Nigeria still beats them hands down. So I still don't quite agree with 5k:2k. Nigeria is RICH my brother.

Also China, India as at the last time I checked are far better than us on most if not all indices. They are at least 7 and 8 times more than us in population and have far more land mass. So we can't argue we are not prosperous because of our population/land mass. Infact it is actually a blessing as it means there is market for commerce. Otherwise, how do you explain how US is richer than Nigeria even when US is at least 2 our population and have a landmass of about the size of west africa.

Surely, GMB cannot solve all our problems. Anybody saying that is just not serious. But the ones that are most serious without which there cannot be true growth he can fix or put us on a good stead to fixing i.e insecurity and corruption. These two nightmare are the fertilizer of gej administration. Who cares about being the biggest economy or auto revolution when farmers are killed on their way to the farm and the president is seen dining with accused sponsors of terrorist (no sponsor or any high profile arrest so far after 10000s of lives are lost). Who cares about the fraudulent electricity reforms (with no improvement if not even worse state) when billions grow wings and disappears only to resurface on donation for the presidential campaign.

We want a clamp down on insecurity and a brave/sincere fight against corruption. Without these two all our supposed agains will be on paper only just like we have woken up to the reality of how poor Nigerians are even though the country is the biggest economy in Africa.

I have said it before and I will repeat it again. Our problem is not gej. Our problem did not start with gej. He is just a crazy a$$hole compounding our problems.

gists:
Par your last sentence - You are right, and i have always said this myself. The pdp and gej did not start religious divide in Nigeria. So in fairness, let no body accuse gej of bringing religious divide to this country. But, what we accuse gej for is that under this administration, the religious polarity in Nigeria has been pronounced to a whole new level that it has never been before. Similarly, pdp/gej did not bring insurgents to Nigeria, but under the present a$$holes occuping aso rock, insurgents has planted a flag on our country. Nigerian Army has never been the strongest in the world, but under this useless government, we see Nigerian army running away from war front (for the 1st time in history) to Cameroon and shamefully surrender their arms to show they meant no harm simply because they have been delibrately under equipped and funded. The list goes on and on. I am sure many unbiased and enlightened people can add and explain more.
