It is very maddening that a group of people castigated and even 'cursed' the CAN president for parleying with the president of his country and standing up for the millions of Christians in this country. It would have been a wonderful development, but it looks like I am the only one that notice this was written waaayyyyy back in 2012. If such solar powered refrigerators were truly developed, why has it not flooded the market 3 years after? From the little I know of solar technology, it has not developed for any meaningful use for this types of application.

Spot On.! A classical example is the issue of the unaccounted billion of dollars between NNPC and the Ministry. Imagine what $10b can do let alone $20b. Corruption is the bane of development. Even though there is no country that is corruption free, I am yet to see a truly developed country that has not tamed corruption to the bearest minimum - a sharp contrast to the institutionalised corruption model in this country.

The fact remains that Jonathan established and is funding 9 new federal universities as with the already existing ones. Those universities have thousands schooling in them as well as thousands too employed to work there. Those universities too have created thousands of indirect jobs. I won't even be suprised some of you asking silly questions about them are either students, workers or have relatives associated with the schools. Those schools feed millions of Nigerians and that we give Jonathan credit for.

I will not debate whether gej built new universities or not. But we know the present ones are not even ranked among the middle class institutions in the world. Truth be told gej is not the one that ran them down. But he is contributing his own quarter to to running them down. What sense does it make when the existing ones are not adequately funded and were on strike for 5 months in a year. Yet you are building new ones. Its like someone that is not able to feed his children and yet he continues child bearing. I heard gej bragging in Lagos about how he sent some 1st class students abroad for their masters (as if this is the first gov. to do that) but is that not aconfirming the fact that the present schools we have are not up to standard? If they were up to standard, why send our graduates abroad for masters? The countries he sent those 1st class graduates to, are they building more schools or expanding the capacity and facilities in the existing ones? Can you beat your chest and say these new schools will not go on strike together with the existing ones over lack of funding in the next couple of months? Will they not turn to glorified secondary schools?

One final question I have before I leave this thread is what exactly was the cause why the trip took whooping 10hrs for a journey of less than 250km. Was there a major breakdown that took hers to repair or was it just the speed or was it just human factors at the various stop over stations?

Why will this crap not come from a typical TANoid? Well I am not surprised when the president can open his mouth and say the amount nwbodo embezzled is not even enough to buy peugeot, thus not deserving a jail term. Now, even if it is $5b, that is still more than the cost of modern train as someone had shared on nairaland before. If that money was not missing and used for this project, people won't be here asking how long it takes this locomotive to travel between phc and enugu - a distance of less than 250km. The OP left enugu at about 7am, 6 hours later (that is 1/4 of a day) he is still not in PHC. Even a molue would have made the journey long ago.

When that project is completed/functioning, we will assess/compare it with what is available in other countries and praise the administration accordingly. Until then, sorry. A person shall be qualified for election to the office of the President if -

(d) he has been educated up to at least School Certificate level or its equivalent.

I do not see the requirement that the candidates MUST PRESENT ANY certificate. What the law says is that he should have been educated up to at least School Certificate level or its equivalent. Of course, the lawyers in the house can throw more light on this. This is the time for lawyers to make lots of money

I am not a member of any political party, but to the best of my knowledge, the pdp umbrella signifies cover and protection (just like you use an umbrella in the rain and sun for protection.). The labour's wheel represents the wheel of progress - "keeping the country moving forward". The apc's broom as far as I can tell signifies cleansing the country of all the "dirts" and dusting all the "cobwebs" tarnishing the image of this country. I my be wrong on all of these because I am not a member of any party. I can see that the founding fathers/mothers of the parties mean well for the country.

But I just can't figure-out what the symbol of the apga party represents and I am sure there are members of apga on nairaland and more knowledgeable Nigerians are here to help us out.

In addition, most people forget the fact that the privatisation of NEPA was actually kick-started during obj administration. This is another fraud this TANist are playing on us. Obj started the privatisation process through the "unbundling" process of NEPA and got it incorporated Power Holding COMPANY of Nigeria - PHCN) which set the stage for the separation of generation, transmission and distribution aspects of the entire electricity chain into "18 business outfits". Though still owned by government but the final aim was to get them over to private companies (except transmission). it went further to produce the Electric Power Sector Reform (EPSR) which gave birth to Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) - the monitoring and regulating body for the electricity industry. ALL THESE WERE DONE 10 YEARS AGO in 2005.
Now TANists will give all the glory of unbundling and the incorporation NEPA to PCHN to all the different companies to gej.

But my concern with people especially from this part of the world is that we tend to look and judge things "myopically" from religious view point.
I said this on another thread and I'll repeat it here before I go to bed. There is freedom of speech everywhere in the world even in Saudi and other places where it appears there are gross violation of human rights. But what we fail to realise is that although every country guarantee everybody freedom of speech and expression, nobody can assure anybody of freedom after speech - not even in US (Edward Snowden comes to mind). People should realise that different cultures holds different issues sacred. People should be responsible enough to know the boundary and respect it no matter the topic - religious, politics, national security, economic etc.
