Though na so e dey be on week days but Monday's own dey get muscle, cos na full force people dey take come out on Monday's because na the beginning of the week and it is believed that Mondays na money day/hustle day, so people come out with full rush from the weekend spent.
This is why I don't hustle on Monday (and I'm sure I'm not the only one).
And this is where bolt app comes to play.
Before I drive out, or park somewhere after a trip, I would check bolt app to see all the angles that have traffic, na that one I dey take judge the kind of orders I pick on indrive.
Once I see where traffic plenty on bolt app, I already know my movements and destinations.

No doubt, fares on indrive have truly been annoying lately.
Na so so 1k/1.2k./1.5k/2k fares person dey see up and down. And me that hate all those low fare trips before, I stay out later than I used to to hit my target.
Some passengers self still dey reduce the fare prices that even the original amount dey vex person.
I go just sit down dey watch their nonsense.
Some of them go use their hands increase the fare price when they see that nobody is picking. Very wicked set of people.
I no blame them sha, things have not been the same ever since the naira redesigning stuff all the way up till after election wey come worse pass.
Shey na the post-election effects we go call am abi wetin?
It has really been annoying on indrive.
It only extends the time I spend outside. Cos I don't like going home if I no hit my target.
But we still move sha.

Indrive doesn't require all those stuff, I don't know about other e-hailing app.

1) you can skip incoming orders on bolt but your acceptance rates + driver's score will suffer it and you would have to do extra job to regain those two back. You can't ignore on bolt as much as you do on indrive.

2) when you register as a new driver on bolt, you have a free trial period which is what you're enjoying now, you still need to go do physical inspection to become a verified driver. I don't know for how long the free trial lasts though

3) Mobile filling station @Obanikoro, they have inspection center there.

4) yes, you go need LASDRI and LASRRA.
For LASDRI, go to road safety office at oshodi. Take a bus going to oshodi and tell the conductor you're dropping at road safety, it's very close to that oshodi bus terminal.
For LASRRA, go to any local government office around you. I did mine at ogudu, across from Area H police station - very popular.

5) concerning asking passengers for direction to island, just follow your map, bro.
Map would take you to anywhere on the island, plus island has a very good and straight road directions that you would not even have to sweat following your map. Na mainland fit dey somehow, not island.
You won't get lost using map on the island. The more you frequent island, the more you get familiar with it.
All you need on the island is getting familiar with the area. That's all. Just avoid anything one-way and do not move around without using your map until you have gathered experience and know all the areas.

I didn't even know many places in Lagos back then but today, I can proudly say google map is in my head, I only make use of the map to check traffic routes, sometimes, my rider will ask me do I know where they are going cuz I don't check map, I just glance through it and see where to avoid and where to take...

All I know is, within your 1st 2 months, your mind should tell you whether you can cope with the hustle or not, and if your mind tell you, you can't cope, pls kindly exit the hustle...

We learn differently.
And yeah, the hustle isn't for everybody.

How do you check traffic on bolt?

Scrutinize the screenshot attached, the red lines on the roads show where there's traffic.
You see that Oworonshoki part, look closely, you will see that beside the long red line is another green line on the left close to it: the green line means free road while any line that you see a paint of red is traffic, the red one that intersects it from the left line shows people coming from Gbagada express way going to merger onto the same way as people coming from 3rd mainland bridge going to iyana ifako-iyana ogudu-alapere-tollgate-berger directions. When you see a situation like that, my brother, just find another way or give up if you're using indrive, cos na bolt go increase your money inside such mad lock-head traffic.
On that 3rd mainland bridge (Oworonshoki), red line on the right means there's huge traffic coming from island to mainland, while the green line beside it means free road for people climbing 3rd mainland going to island.
You see that ojodu Berger side, na no go area. You go regret going there. Both sides of the road are red lines, means going and coming na war.
Bolt app is perfect in that aspect, cos even if you navigate your screen to Ibadan, Ogun state or anywhere in the country, you would see free roads (green lines) and traffic (red lines).
Anywhere you see thick red, it's traffic.
There's some orange color that indicates bad roads and not traffic, mostly inside streets, not major roads.
Those red dey always dey thicker sometimes, anywhere you see am, just know say na mad traffic on a wide road.
If you see red lines beside each other, it means there's traffic on both sides of the road (going and coming).
Na the bolt app I dey take see all areas where there's traffic.

Hello guys. I own a Corrola and decided to give e hailing a trial base on current situations as money is needed. My first trip was 1,700 naira but it looks like a loss to me as before I picked passenger I was in traffic for about 30mins. She had to use bike to meet me to start trip. I was paid via transfer. And I am only registered on Indrive. My questions are below.

1. How much is indrive Commision and how do they get it? Because I was paid via transfer off the app.

2. I found it easier to register on indrive. I want to register for bolt. Do you think it’s worth it? Because I realize majority of drivers here talk down on bolt and also which other e hailing app should I register on?

3. Please very important, which routes should I avoid In Lagos state? I’m only familiar with ojodu and ogba area of Lagos state. In fact I don’t know my way to the island. Please I need advice on google map and areas to avoid.

4. I noticed riders don’t accept my ride if I click on the highest amount. Is it that all drivers go with the riders amount request or there’s a way around it?

I await your replies and if there’s a WhatsApp group please I will like to be added.

1) Indrive commission is 9.99% (just say 10%).

2) As a new person in the hustle, I go advise you register on bolt and make bolt your main cruise for probably a month. Though, bolt is not worth it as per say their commission is 25% of your earning. But bolt will take you to where you no know and that's where you will gather experience on your number (3) question.
In this hustle, lecturing won't teach you all you should know, experience is the best teacher.

4) don't click on a different price other than what the passenger proposes. If you see a ride with 2k, accept the 2k like that and don't negotiate. With that, you will get rides.
If you feel the amount is not reasonable considering the destination of the passenger, just ignore it and wait for more rides you can go with.

Additionally:
Yeah, there are routes you should avoid, but I know that it will depend on your judgement as later on.
When I started new, there's no where bolt didn't take me to.
E remain small dem for take me to sambisa forest. Ah! Bolt showed me shege and me being a newbie, na every ride I dey accept until I start to dey gather experience and picking from the experiences of the bosses on this platform.
So, you might need to register on bolt and use it for a while, so that you go know road well well and the places you should avoid.
Na the experience you gather on bolt is what will be your handpack to run indrive.
What you should be very concerned about is avoiding anything that will get you in the hands of LASTMA and those area boys.
Avoid anything one-way and illegal parking.
Well, with time, you will be able to identify the avoidable.
As someone said, avoid Ikorodu, Festac/Okota/Ago Palace environs.
You can only find me in those areas on Sundays (only) and the amount must worth it, and na once in a blue moon self. Sunday is always free of congestion and people move around for church fellowship - that's the reason.
You Wey never know your way to island heheheheeee, abeg avoid those areas.
The major armor of an experienced driver in this hustle is knowing all roads and locations, then other things follow.
The more you hustle, the more you know.
Please avoid driving at night till you gather enough experience that gives you confidence.

@ Glithronix.. it was just a matter of time. One thing I can deduce is Bolt revenues nosedived seriously, that's why they cut staff.You can't make more and still cut staff,
Entrance of new players- Lagride, indrive, Rida,Anayer,Roosca etc.
Previously, at least 60% of all the riders and drivers on these new apps would have been remitting steadily to Bolt. But that's not possible again.

Shebi dem dey carry shoulder up before ni.
And pride won't let dem amend their ways so as not to appear that they bow to pressure.

E haling cpys are not left out in this downsizing of a thing. Bolt just laid off 17 of its staff in Nigeria. That's like 24% work force reduction. That's huge o. and getting 1 or 2 months as severance pay...
It means their revenues did not really appreciate especially 2022..

Bolt is dead and na dem used their own hands to kill themselves.
E sure for me say almost every bolt drivers on this platform Don dey use indrive on a coded level and they can see the difference.

Go download Opay/Palmpay and have peace of mind.
I've been using these 2 apps since last month and they never disappoint.
Receiving money is within 5 secs (almost instantly).
After closing at night, I move all the money into my main bank account.
That's how I do it everyday.
Bank apps will frustrate you.
All drivers should go and be using either of the 2 apps.

The modification is good. @ Glithronix.. 12 mins .means the rider chose you.. I don't have to click twice to bid. Pick price and that's it.

Based on the 12 minutes pick up, the rider didn't pick me. Indrive automatically approved me as I clicked on 'accept'.
If it was as it used to be, many drivers would bid for such ride and the passenger would likely pick the driver closer to her.
He/she can't leave a driver who's 5 mins away and go and pick a driver who's 12 minutes away.
If to say na some crazy rider, as indrive automatically approved me, the rider would cancel cos I was 12 mins away which she wouldn't have picked in the first place. So, what happened once she cancelled? my money goes straight into refund purse and that's not pleasant to me in anyway.
Na this kind stuff dey make riders cancel rides anyhow on bolt once they see you're too far and na drivers dey suffer am with their DS till bolt block dem.
This, I'm speaking from the angle of the passenger.
As a driver, me I don't mind oh, but make passenger dey choose who dem want to ride with ALWAYS.

Right now, no more bidding for the fun of it, once a driver bids, he should be prepared to go.

As long as you are willing to go for the trip, even if you are 2- 3srconds to the timer, click arrive and proceed to the pick up point., some riders will still delay you even after this.

Riders still have liberty to choose their drivers..

It ain't good, boss.
My timing circle is from 1 - 10 mins. I don't pick anything above 10mins.
The chosing of time is needed for drivers.
If I see an order that the pick up is 3 mins, I always pick 5 mins of the time options available to me as a driver. That will give me more time to spare.
The order that I just completed now, pick up time was 3 mins and I was late to pick the passenger cos the road no good. If the time options were available, I woul have clicked on 5 mins to arrive pick up and I would meet up.
If a ride request shows 8 mins to pick up, it's not all the time you would meet up without getting late to pick the passenger.
Hope you know say lateness to pick up point affects your rating as a driver.
If lateness to pick up point won't affect driver's rating, it would be fine.
That aside,
What about the one that it will automatically approve an order you just clicked on?
Speaking on the passenger's angle, e no too make sense, cos riders used to have to total liberty to choose the driver that they wanted.

Been crediting my account without issue of any sort.

Indrive really needs to review their latest modifications.
They need to bring back the timing options for drivers to choose + the complete freedom for passengers to choose their choice of drivers to take them.
Imagine I made a mistake clicking on one of the orders on my screen and fiam, it was automatically accepted, imagine order wey dey show 12 mins to pick up.
Had no choice than to move, cos I no want cancel. The rider was patient enough to wait for me, despite spending more than that 12 mins.
Another one is that, when I see nearby orders of let's say 2 mins to pick up, I usually made increase my time to pick up to 5mins, this will give me more spare time to arrive in time and wow the passenger that I arrive early. Sometimes, order that shows 5mins to pick up, you can spend 10mins due to traffic or some amateur drivers wey go dey block your way or bad roads.
Now, I can't modify time. 4 mins means 4 mins and you sometimes will arrive late and I no dey like late stuff.
Make dem bring back the time options for drivers.
