Way to go Modified I am just wondering if it is possible for Joe Ajaero, who openly aligned with Peter Obi, to be politically neutral and act in the national interest. This protest and nationwide strike he has called for looks like a political stunt, especially considering that the current government has agreed to increase the minimum wage and that all major presidential candidates, except Kwankwaso, agreed that they would remove fuel subsidies. Including Peter Obi, who said they would go IMMEDIATELY. This strike is unnecessary and very ill-timed, more so when Nigeria is facing a crisis in Niger Republic that could spill over into Nigeria and destabilise our economy and political institutions. I may not support President Tinubu, but the palliatives and measures he announced two days ago were far-reaching and should have caused Labour and Ajaero to pause. But it didn't. What is their agenda? This is about Nigeria, and it is time for us to be patriotic and do what is in the country's best interest, no matter who is President. I am not sure that Ajaero would take this action if his friend, Peter Obi, were President. What exactly does Joe Ajaero want? Even his own home state of Imo has introduced palliatives. Should Nigeria continue to spend more on fuel subsidies than she spends on education, health, and housing? How is that economically viable? And can Mr Ajaero explain why the pump fuel price in neighbouring Benin Republic went up as soon as Nigeria ended fuel subsidies? Nobody should take us backwards to a Buhari era where we were borrowing to pay for fuel subsidies and tripled our foreign debt with nothing to show for it. Fuel subsidies must go, whether this present NLC likes it or not. |

The former Kaduna State Governor was one of the 28-man ministerial nominees of President Bola Tinubu Senate President Godswill Akpabio, on Tuesday, stopped former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, from addressing a “strong petition” cited against him on the floor of the Senate during his ministerial screening exercise.https://www.channelstv.com/2023/08/01/ministerial-screening-akpabio-stops-el-rufai-from-addressing-strong-petition-on-kaduna-insecurity/amp/

One thing OBJ did that benefits us today is splitting our military command structure so that it's almost impossible for a coup to be planned and executed in Nigeria without news of it spilling out before hand.. That said, the clamor by some political actors for military takeovers, is just another attempt to gain political power on the back of someone else's effort, instead of doing the work of politics themselves.. Buhari could've tried to lead the North out of Nigeria after losing 3 elections, the last one being so badly rigged that the winner, Umar Musa Yaradua, all but admitted it... Tinubu could've done the same with Lagos and most of the SW, instead of slug it out with PDP from a position of weakness.. Today we have riff-raff nonentities like Igboho and Ekpa trying to drive to power using the lives of young foolish people as fuel.. 90% of civil society actors operating in the political advocacy space seem to have no work besides stirring up internal destabilisation, especially in the states where we have a semblance of good governance.. They camp in Lagos and Kaduna, opposing everything the governors there do, but unlook Abia, Oyo, Rivers, Taraba, Benue and all the states that are either failed, failing or run like autocracies.. Useful idiots playing their part to scatter our nation, with the daft notion that the pieces will be rearranged in a way that favors them... They could look to Libya, or Yemen to realise that the pieces of scattered nations, never come backtogether.. ENDSARS people abandoned the hard work of building a political movement to take the momentum of their protests and channel it in the only legitimate direction of obtaining power... They instead chose the easy route of insurrection, thinking they could chase away over 1000 elected officials with hashtags and emojis. Once more relying on some outside savior like JackTwitter to 'help' them gain power.. The lack of responsibility and awareness will never cease to amaze. The latest savior is the military.. Grown men hoping that a few, misguided, corrupt soldiers will somehow lead Africa out of our shrunken, shrivelled state and into greatness.. It would be surprising if the same thing had not been attempted just a few months ago with Peetobi.. The truth is that good things take time and effort.. You cannot throw 10 blocks and 2 bags of cement into the air and hope they build themselves into a mansion as they fall down.. You need architects and builders for that, not soldiers or failed politicians promising you heaven when all they've ever built is hell. Life can be cruel sometimes... She will watch you grow old and die in frustration if you refuse to apply wisdom in your dealings with her.. If by some magic our democracy is toppled by soldiers, very few politcians operating today will lose their jobs, relevance or access... 3 or 4 big names will be dealt with ceremoniously to fool you, but Nigeria is too big for 40 soldiers to run without help.. Politicians will politick and you will be left in the cold, again, except this time the constitution will be suspended along with yourfundamental human rights... My advise... Go and register a company... Go in your hundreds of thousands if not millions. Apply for these loans.. Seek advice.. Set up businesses.. GROW.. Become financially independent individuals first, then pool your new power together to build political movements, either parties or pressure groups. Use your combined resources to sponsor candidates who you direct to build a sample of the Nigeria of your dreams, using an LGA or 2 as test cases.. Demonstrate this superior governance ability that you claim to possess.. If it works you will win over converts, and your new ideology will turn into a true political movement, based on productivity and a promise of a better life, not on anger, depression, negativity and threats of violence and death.. This is the only real way to gain lasting power... Anything else is a lie. |

Driggs:Obi supporters are notorious for jumping in every trend to wail, even those who are ignorant of the subject matter been discussed... check their comments above, they're accusing the tribunal judges already without even knowing what's going on. May God help them. |
Racoon:Try get a life outside wailing The states these people govern, share boarders with Benin Republic so it's necessary to maintain a healthy relationship. During the Nigerian presidential inauguration, many heads of government both within Africa and beyond we're in attendance, so why is it now a crime to celebrate with who celebrate with you. You guys should stop wailing and complaining about everything so that your complain go look genuine. Criticism is healthy, but becomes dangerous when abused. |
Tajbol4splend:We know... Just some few from a particular region that want to foist their leader on us, but it won't work. After their failure in the last general election, they resort to allow manners of propaganda, hate speech etc to cause confusion and make Nigeria ungovernable, their plan B is to do everything possible including inciting the judges of the tribunal so as to call for a rerun where they'll right their wrong ( ie forming alliance with the other party) but God pass them. No matter how they're trying to discredit Tinubu's government of just two months we no care, we sane Nigerians will only pass our judgement after four years; during the next election. |
sarkinbauchi:Be decieving yourself. Here's a my Tweeter screenshot as at today.
|
Lol Sit at home is really taking a toll on some...o Social media has really exposed some... |
worksmart:Una no go ever change We're talking of a million tech jobs for Nigerians and you think it's not worth the president's presence? You mustn't talk if you have nothing to talk. We should try stop the hate and embrace good tidings please. |
What has Islam got to do with Biafra? The last I checked, there are Christian Southerners in DSS and so many Igbo brothers and sisters are Muslims. This guy's agenda is beyond Beyond Biafra, Politics aside... Ndigbo, the ball is in your court o. Just concerned though. |
I keep telling my friends from the Obidient side of this game that politicians that are into the know-how of the game are either resigning or sacrifice their political positions for the Asiwaju project. Some examples are: 1. Like after studying the Nigerian political terrain, decided to risk it for PBAT. 2. Gbaja dumped his reps stuff, Ahmed Lawan is seriously fighting for a ministerial slot that'll be accrued to Gombe state, Umahi is following suit even the American Pate resigned too the list goes on. Now tell me, who would ever resign from his/her well paying job if there's no job security in their next assignment? Get it today, PBAT is here to stay at least for the next 8 years. Shalom. |
Op, the reasons are not far-fetched; an average Nigerian is gullible. You'll hear stuffs like; he's my brother, he's from my region and or religion. Some want the hardened crook to gain freedom so as to be able to buy the judiciary will his I'll gotten cash; e no go werk. Some are saying Buhari should be arrested instead of him but I have this question for these categories of persons, is Emefiele a toddler that he can't come out and implicate his boss, should DSS or the courts do that for him? We continue to blame every government of the day but refused to understand that we're the pillars behind their actions or inactions. |
