Chuwaa: Uber is only unprofitable in the US, where Lyft is giving them a run for their money. Their CEO is even using their profitability in other countries to source for funds.
This business is profitable for Uber and Taxify alone. Uber is only having losses because of the crazy salaries they pay their executives and their R & D into autonomous vehicles. Moreover they are over staffed. The main taxify company has only 50staff (maybe that's why their app is unstable). Uber has many site reliability engineers on their payroll)
This business profits only the riders, Uber and Bolt. The driver is not in the equation. Even in the US where they are making 'losses', they are just bidding their time before they kick out their drivers. Their autonomous vehicles are still being developed. African markets are making profits for them. Germany kicked them out, London revoked their license for a while. But since there's no serious advocacy for drivers in Nigeria and much of Africa, they will continue getting away. Moreover our 'wonderful' economy has contributed to the influx of drivers for the only two cities they operate in Nigeria. Head or tail, their fault or not. Drivers loose Very soon im sure they will close all their other offices abroad and concentrate on their Africa market space esp Nigeria..oversea market dey worry dem no be small ooo....they love this country ehhh..infact dey go dey thank God for Nigeria market..avenue to recoup all their losses.. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Are We Truly Not To Obey The Old Testament Laws Anymore? by gobuchinny: 10:01pm On Mar 17, 2019 |
alBHAGDADI: Some parts of the law are obeyed by the gentiles even before they received it e.g the case of not sleeping with one's closest kin. But not all gentiles over such and not all the laws did they obey.
Your attempt to rubbish the point that the law still stands in regards to sleeping with one's kin is so weak. What about the law against tattoos and cuts in the body for the dead? So we can now wear tattoos because Christ died?
Tithe wasn't solely for the Levites. It also served other purposes. But first and foremost, tithe belongs to God, not to the Levites.
Leviticus 27:30 And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD'S: it is holy unto the LORD.
God then gave it to the Levites because they had no inheritance. The priests included.
Numbers 18:21 And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.
It wasn't only for the Levites. God ordered tithes to be given to the strangers fatherless and widows.
Deutoronomy 26:12 When thou hast made an end of tithing all the tithes of thine increase the third year, which is the year of tithing, and hast given it unto the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat within thy gates, and be filled;
It also served the purpose of ensuring that there is food in God's house.
Malachai 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it .
Since Levites don't exist anymore, does that mean there shouldn't be food in God's house and that the fatherless widows and strangers shouldn't eat?
Yes, we are all priests, but how many of us are into full time ministry? We are all priests in that we can all preach the gospel to unbelievers. But not all of us are ordained to lead a congregation. God specifically gave that task to certain people when he spoke of pastors, evangelists, deacons, ministers. This are all full time priests. How do you expect them to eat when they work full time in the house of God? Is what they do not similar to what the Levites did?
1 Corinthians 9:13-14 13 Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar? 14 Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.
Those who have the authority to receive your tithe on behalf of God are those who work full time in God's house where the tithe is to be brought . The issue you guys are having is the same I stated above..a poor understanding of the NT.. Sir there is no Gods physical house made with brick and mortar in the NT..in the OT Moses built it according to the specification he had seen..the same pattern in heaven he replicated same on earth..the NT brought with it the abolishment of that wordly sanctuary because Jesus Christ has gone to the heavenly sanctuary with His blood so that structure in Jerusalem was done away with..in the OT God himself dwelt amongst the people in the ark of the convenant..the shikenah presence of God was presence hence Solomon had to build that temple to reflex the abode of the King of Kings..but now that Shikenah presence has left and the ark is no longer present so Gods presence is not physical as it was then but His Spirit is in christian now as in those days when it was in a select group, the priest, kings and prophets...thats y Jesus said that a time will come where neither in Jerusalem nor anywhere but the true worshippers will worship in truth and spirit...…all these structures and edifices are not the church ..in the early church the people met any where..anywhere 2 or 3 are gathered is church..in my car, bathroom, office is church...the people don't go to church..no the church goes to a building to worship. The question you asked has been answered in the NT...there was food for Gods people but it was in contributions and freewill givings not tithe...y didn't the apostles collect tithe to feed the people? it said the people sold their lands and possession not tithe and the giving was to cater for EVERY believer not some man to appropriate as he liked or use to buy a benz or private plane.. Sir please lets study the bible together ...the problem is we lack understanding..the offices of apostles, prophets etc is not for a select few but for everyone..read that scripture from the beginning sir..Eph 4 vs 7 Unto everyone of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ..to some, apostles, some prophets......1 cor 12 vs 7 " for the manifestation of the Spirit is given to EVERYMAN to profit withal...the only place of authority according to NT that is of selection is Elders/bishops and deacons..these offices you mentioned is given to ALL beleivers the only thing is that is given in different measures..iz like the parable of the talent..some have 10, 5 or 1 but each had something. If you think any believer is dormant in the body then you do not understand the doctrine...the problem is that believers have become lazy and allowed pastors to thrive and teach rubbish doctrine whereas we are to admonish ourselves not one man standing and speaking like he is the oracle of God..the people who had that privilege were the early apostles because the revelation came through them...every other person did not get that revelation hence even the foundations of heaven are built on the apostles not on a GO or Bishop of today..in 1 cor Paul was even telling to early church to maintain decorum that ALL should not be prophecying or teaching thats to tell you how it was then....we are to admonish ourselves..do you always go the the bathroom and wash only your hands? do you always wash only one part of your body? don't you pay attention to EVERY part of your body? Take your own body for an example..is the eye more important than the nose..is the hand more important than the leg? we all have the gifts and we all have an office..we all have to find out what we are in the body and to what measure..yes there will be full time ministers(having the gifts in a higher measure ) they should live off the contributions of the people or place them on a salary but not tithe sir..its not in the NT bible and anyother thing like you saying these preachers are the new levites is you playing God.. Yes the tithe is for God but remember that not all th people had the Spirit in the OT and could NOT approach God just like how Moses could appraoch the mountain but now the veil is gone and we ALL with bold faces beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord are changed into the same image from glory to glory..God is not a respecter of persons..we are ALL children of God and all brethren so how can my brethren collect my tithe Living off the alter does not signify living off tithe ..yes the people should minister to the preachers because if i give a preacher im not giving to God but to the preacher ...the preacher is my brethren so i dont need to give him a dime to give to God infact giving to the poor or widows is lending to God...if i give a preacher any money im giving the preacher like i would any other brethren..im not giving God |

alBHAGDADI: What a funny dude. It s clear you didn't even read the OP or whatever you have been blinded by didn't allow you to see properly.
Your post claims the law has been thrown into the garbage, which is a big lie. If the law has been thrown into the garbage, how come Paul and Peter were still ordering the people to stay away from idols, blood and other things, which are what the law also commands? How come the new law of Jesus Christ looks so much like his old law? That's because the laws only took some change, not thrown away and totally replaced.
Example of the changes is the issue of circumcision. The Apostles whom Jesus gave authority changed that law. They also changed the law on dress code, dietary, diverse washings etc because those laws are just things of the flesh.
Hebrews 9:10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.
That's why we don't have tassle on our clothing, do ablution before we pray or prevented from eating certain meat. All those laws are just carnal laws that don't profit the spirit, part of which is the law on circumcision which the apostles also changed.
But many of the old laws still stand. Examples are the law against homosexuality, incest, bestiality, coveteousness, not tithing, idol worshiping, eating blood, sorcery, murder etc.
If you say the old testament laws have been done away with, how come the few I mentioned above still found their way into the new testament? Or can you show me where they got kicked away in the new testament? You won't find such.
I mentioned in the OP that the old testament laws which God doesn't want us to follow anymore, he clearly mentions them in the new testament. Example is the law on circumcision, which according to the Bible passage above was changed by his apostles.
The laws which God didn't change in the new testament still stand and must never be changed. Since he hasn't said otherwise concerning what he said back in the old testament, then we are to continue with what he said back then. The reason why we do some of the things he prohibited on the old testament is because he changed them and gave us liberty over them in the new testament. Those he didn't change still stand.
If you believe the old testament e have been done away with, then make sure you have gay sex with your father, have sex with your mother and sister or daughter, and also bow down before an idol. Don't forget to post pictures of it all for me to see. Remember according to you, there is no more law against doing such because Jesus Christ has died for us. You guys are very ignorant of what the NT and OT stands for...im really amazed at the level of deceit in arm twisting scriptures to explain away your deceitful beleifs. This issue has been dealt with in the early church Acts 15 vs 1...Act 15 vs 5...But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharises which believed saying that it was needful to circumcise then and to command them to keep the law of Moses vs 10 "Now therefeore why tempt ye God to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples which neither our Fathers nor we were able to bear? vs 19 "wherefore my sentence is that we trouble not them, which from among the gentile are turned to God but that we write unto them that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication and from things strangled and from blood" You guys don't grasp that the OT which is the old law were done away with...all this y don't you go and sleep with you mother or perform gay sexual acts with your father are weak and laughable..even animals know not to sleep with their mothers talkless of umans..in the olden days, days of uncivilization where men lived like barbarian sef no one slept with their mother so what exactly is ur point? Roman 2 vs 14 "for when the gentiles which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these having not the law are a law unto themselves" besides if you read the NT, ALL the works of the flesh are clearly stated in Galatians and through out the NT esp the epistles..if you draw out this do nots it covers every aspect of sexual immorality and everything that God wants us to do and not to do is clearly stated...its the law of Christ which Paul spoke of in his epistles.. Now concerning tithe because i know alot you guys las las na tithe una dey aim so let talk about it..my question is this..in the OT the sons of Levi who received the office of the priesthood have a commandment to take tithes of the people? no other tribe had this privilege..even Kings or prophets could not collect tithes..who are the Levis now? who has that commandment to receive the tithe now? because the priesthood has been changed heb 7 vs 12..Acts 4 vs 36 and 37 even a levi who normally should be collecting tithe was selling his stuff to bring to the apostle feet for onward distribution to the saints and not for the apostle personal use....so who are the new levi? because the NT teaches that we are all preist and Kings and Jesus is our High priest..so who has that authority to receive my tithe on behalf of God? |

GidiWoodsMan: Lols loud it The money no go still pass 1,000 naira.
Taxify/uber encourage these hapless drivers to take incredible risks and demean themselves all for peanuts. If you talk, people will ask you that shebi them no force you to drive.
Poverty is a terrible thing. Bro you missing the point..this has nothing to do with poverty ..if you are a driver on the platform then you know that you aint a salary earner who get paid at the end of the month..this same 1k trip if replicated 7 times from 12am till 5am is 7k already..thats how you get paid and if you doing this every day that how you earn..so in essence you earn every trip not every month...you have to protect urself in every trip because if anything bad is to happen it will on a trip... Beside its a state of awareness that you should carry everywhere you go esp at night..you don't have to be an uber driver before you get jumped esp around that ojota axis at night..if u kno u kno..its a state of mind brother..people have been killed for not being aware of their environment... Some people that have entered one chance buses wont have if dere observed the occupants of the bus..sometimes you cant tell but honestly most times these thieves are to lazy to alternate their dynamics so its pretty much the same packaging that a well trained/observant individual will detect and avoid... Honestly I have this same state of mind even during the day sef talkless of night..its heighted when its gets dark because na den all this evil spirits like dey come out to play Its like crossing the road and not looking left and right or being engrossed with your fone while crossing..atleast pay attention and do your due diligence while crossing so if you get hit by a car everyone and even you sef will know you tried |

nitigriti: Positioning in places like shrine is good for finding trips, but risky. So here's how I go about it. I receive a trip, I call you. I ask where you are going to, how many riders, are we branching anywhere or going direct, are we picking other persons on the way or not, who is the person we are picking?
Then when the guys come, they will meet me standing by the car. I use eye gauge Dem as Dem dey come. If my spirit no gree, "Sorry guys, I can't go on this trip again. My fuel pump is acting up" ( then I try to start the car without success (security things)). I cancel, and if there is cancellation fee, I give you the #400 straight up. If there are more than 2 guys, I'm not going. If there is a guy and a lady, I will go, but the guy has to sit in front with me. And I tell them this very frankly, that it's for security sake. 2 guys and I will quickly evaluate and trust my instinct. Any number of ladies, I will go. In all cases, I don't stop along the road to poo, pee or buy anything. It's midnight, I won't stop.
Then I have a contingency plan. I'm at alert. There's this Parker pen I keep just beside the gear lever. If you think its a pen, you are on your own. There's also some twisted 20mm wire I keep on the dashboard. It's not koboko, and it's not on that dashboard for fun. It's for garrotting. I position my rear mirrors in such a way that I can see what's going on inside the car with my occupants. I keep the music very low. You need to be able to use your ears 100%. If you want me to blare music as we go, I'm not going.
Then your car is a defensive tool. If anyone in the car lunges at you, there's a way you can swerve that will get everyone in the car off balance; except you because na you dey make things happen. This will buy you time. My method will not work for everybody but I'm stubborn like that. If you will kill me, I will kukuma carry you go with me.
Toh, I don talk reach. You killed it bro..so on point..awareness buys you time and time gives you options..you cant be caught slacking esp for night trips.. |

franksam2009: nice write-ups But I'm not talking about the money or something, but being haraassed by some lowlife agbero all in d name of union,,. Lagos is filled with mad people who disrespect people however they pleases. Nw dey will be pleading for union but when u give Dem go-ahead dey will now form gangster untop d matter/union. Even local govt agberos LL now use the opportunity to start harassing and collecting tolls from drivers.. Just try imagine someone stops u wen u are on a trip seized your car keys maybe because u broke a rule or something. I doubt the bolded statement will suffice..the union cannot be on the road levying drivers or collecting tolls...no I guess they might require members to pay a token for registration and welfare packages but I doubt their job description will require them levying drivers on the road or collecting some form of toll...uber already does that.. Truth is there will be issues but I believe these issue can be resolved amicably as long as both parties have a common goal..which is driver welfare.. |
