WHEN WILL YOU PEOPLE REALIZE THAT YOU CAN BE TRACKED AND TRACED EASILY BY THE AUTHORITIES FOR SPEWING GIBBERISH ON NATIONAL SECURITY ISSUEShuh YOU HIDE IN THE DISCOMFORT OF YOUR CAVES AND TYPE JARGONS WITH FREE MEGABYTES. Smh
Whatever you chose to believe is your choice. That is what I believe. On proof, I may not have any, just a logical deduction based on past political happenings in the country.

And what makes you think I stay in a cave and not on a tree like your forefathers? What else do I need for me to know that you are uncomfortable where you are than the fact that you seem disturbingly 'worried' this early?

If you want to correct a wrong notion, do it politely. Not everyone on NL is foolish, unrespectable, clueless, immature and vulgar as what most of you believe.

Young lady, the best way to prove your sanity is by being polite. Grow!

Graviton, here is an answer to your signature:

Man-mark him and dude is gonna get frustrated till he bites the marker.

Your signature brought back the memories of my undergraduate days when we tarried in school for days after exams all because we had scores to settle on PES. However, before NYSC call-up, I discovered one inexplicable fun and joy in #FIFA. Realer than PES. Now it is safe to say I'm a FIFA addict.

I have so missed gaming.

I won't blame anyone who is scared of going to Abuja, I was scared too, but my dad insisted. He was like "Young man, you are going to Abuja and that is final".

Zenzen, once again, God is able!
But truly, fear is now a reality of our existence in Nigeria. Individual vigilance should be evangelized and God's protection should be all we seek.

Graviton and juntod: You guys are both right, to certain extent.

In almost all the schools in America, PhD is a guaranteed funding (of any kind). On this thread, Graviton, have you ever seen someone admitted into a PhD program without funding? smiley

In some rare cases, yes, we may have people like that. But, it is very rare.

EducationRe: should i study agric? by godG: 3:33pm On Jan 04, 2014
Dear OP,

What is all this nonsense about choice of course? See, wait till you become a graduate and see that getting educated is just a formality. What you can make out of your life, irrespective of your course, is the koko. Dele Muhamodu (pardon d spelling) studied Yoruba in Ife. Hafiz Oyetoro (Saka) studied Dramatic Arts, etc. and I'm sure I don't need to tell you what they make of it.

Oga, forget Medicine. From your post, even you financial strength will fail you in the course of running a degree in Medicine. Answer these yourself: How old are you? How rich are you? Medicine na long thing.

Also, let me tell you this: those UME scores are damn too low to secure admission into Medicine. None of my friends that studied Medicine had less than 275 in UME/Post-UME. If you really want to study Medicine as you have claimed, you have to ace JAMB. And please note, for the smart students, JAMB is(was) never a gamble.

I understand that devoting time to read could be hard considering the fact that you said you are on your own. But what is worth doing should be done brilliantly.

If I don't know of any school, I'm sure of the admission procedures of OAU: once you meet the cut-off marks, even if devil dey do you, without talking to a soul, you will be admitted. I know what I'm saying. So, if you really want medicine, step up your JAMB scores.

If you know you can ace both Post/UME, consider Ife. Need I tell you that OAU is the cheapest school in Nigeria? I paid #6900 all through.

But come to think of it, as a smart graduate of Agric, you automatically have what it takes to employ men on your 'field'. If I were you, I will go with Agric. It could be hard to let go of your society-motivated dream but I'm sure you won't regret letting-go.

This is almost a normal dilemma for almost all science students. Only the smart are smiling. Plus if you are a Christian, tell it to Jesus for leading. The choice is yours. It is well.

Imperiouxx! What a feat! You shall always move from strength to strength. Ricky, enjoy America, live responsibly, reach for your dreams.

This is for your reading and reflecting pleasures:

Invictus

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

William Ernest Henley

These distorted WS' words are for you:

"Not all the water in the rough rude sea
Can wash the balm off from an anointed king;
The breath of worldly men cannot depose
The deputy elected by the Lord:
For every man that Bolingbroke (The Devil) hath
press'd
To lift shrewd steel against our golden crown(Graviton)
God for his Richard(Graviton) hath in heavenly pay
A glorious angel: then, if angels fight,
Weak men must fall, for heaven still guards the
right."

Judging by the strength of character, MsNas should be placed on the pedestal of goddesses. In a perverted generation, getting a lady with brain, beauty and will is like seeking a virgin in the city. But here is MsNas: epitome of a guided and beautiful personality.

As you begin gliding through the year, may God grant you peace. When you need the help of man, nations will rise to you aid. Never let go of the noble intentions that guide your perception of life, never let go of your fellowship with God and never let go of love. Have my best wishes for the years ahead. God bless you and yours. HBD!

blackbee: Ricky Rozay and others in the house..
My interview is like in 3 weeks and I have not written any standardized test because of this latest ETS ban on Nigeria.. But my school waived all these test for me. Does anyone think its a good idea to go without any of those tests? Besides, I have already told my school to send me a letter that stands for the waiver.. You guys have really helped me especially Ricky Rozay... No one wants to go to the Yankee Embassy twice, I'm really going for it with one shot. I need your advises like water...
Been a while here.

Sorry about your predicament. We now live in an age where everything, instead of going to the ideals, is going awry. Now the realities of being Nigerian are dawning on us. sad

Before RR answers your questions with his typical epistles, let me do. smiley

To your questions, I'm afraid you might have to go for your interview without any test. Time is no more on your side. Having the luxury of time to go through the stress of registering for those tests now is not something you can afford. The GRE, for instance, shouldn't be written for the sake of writing - sit for it to be aced. Sadly, time flies.

You might want to consider TOEFL, but you still have to plan ahead. See, if you are hellbent on sitting for a test, consider IELTS or better still, change the date of your interview to a convenient date. Taking a test score to the embassy now will prove to the VO that you are a daring student who, against all odds, reaches for his/her dreams.

On the contrary, having a test isn't really a sure-bet for your visa approval, it rather gives you an edge. Traditionally, the odds are not in favour of a non-test-taker at the embassy, but we have seen people with no test granted visa. One of our Ogas here is a living example.

These are what you could do:
1. If you are not the confident type, and your school's resumptions is still far ahead, postpone your interview to a better date.

2. Go with an undebased confidence to the embassy and pray for favor and that the universe should command the gratification of your desire (mind you, with this second alternative, you are banking on luck and the Divine.) smiley

3. Pray, hope and don't worry. **my $100 I could be wrong. smiley

May the Good Lord, grant you the wisdom and strength to make the right choice(s).
