Footlocker: Nasarawa does seem dead to me! I went to a place MINKI SUITE! That's was only interesting place! And yeah MBA in NSUK people have different reasons for doing certain things! (part time course) Erm I no the guy your referring about the one everyone suddenly started beefing, I linked up with him after! shocked I didn't stay in camp long! But I was well known in IJ BAR grin
Wow! So good to have you here, man. That guy stayed in my room, Block A. So annoying how people started beefing the guy they should ideally appreciate for coming to serve the fatherland from UK. That is patriotism! I appreciate that a lot in you guys. If we have folks that are ready to pay such price despite the current woes of out nation, I believe Nigeria will be better for it.

Unfortunately, I was never at the bar. Being a Platoon Leader, the activities really took my time.

Footlocker: am sure we didn't come on nairaland to learn or improve our english! Are you paid for your polished english! Clown! Do something constructive with your time rather than commenting on what doesn't concern you!
Thanks be to Heavens, he replied in better English. I have made someone improve tonight. Yes, I get paid for my impeccable competence. Ki lomode mo? smiley

Really, bro, don't boast on stuffs like that again. It doesn't speak well of you. It makes it look as if that achievement is all you live for. That is the point and I don't want to believe that that is your greatest achievement in life.

***Sorry if you have been offended but know this: not everybody on NL is a loser.

Footlocker: You xxxx! Your clearly jobless! Try and read threads properly before making stupid comments! Clearly your frustrated ^^^ am I'am not the cause of your problem! Your life go betta no worry!
SMH cheesy You reacted like a kid. It amazes me why people like you who claim to be sane use vulgar words to drive home your point. You can do better than this.

If I were you (God forbid), I would focus more on polishing my English. It's high time you grew up and stop boasting on ephemeral things. Grow up, bro.

Mystiqme: Kudos. This is exactly the way to go about it. Browse, browse, browse. Mail, mail, mail. I don't want to count the number of profs I mailed, and I am not boasting, my grade and test scores were not average. So when people come here and ask for a list of schools, they don't strike me as serious.
Thanks. I actually opened your NL profile like 3 weeks ago and browsed through almost all your posts. In your steps... smiley Once again, thank you.

I have got one pending application with USAENig. The outcome go decide how e go be.

I no dey sleep, always researching. Although, I go still apply for MA too make I no come jonze. I emailed Imperiouxx alma mater and they said they can only admit me for Masters and not straight PhD. That I should go ahead and apply for MA.

Feexo: House, I am very sorry I am posting my transcript late. I know how important it is to some people, as I also benefitted immensely from reading people's transcript. I joined this thread about 3 years ago and I have learned so much. I was for 6:30 appointment. We were about getting filed in when I could not find my pictures again. I left the line and those photographers were demanding 2k from me sensing my desperation. I ended up paying 1k, but I tried not to be apprehensive I needed my composure for the interview.
Once inside, I started observing things; visa issuing rate and the composure of interviewees.

VO: (holding my i20) so you are going to WIU?
ME: Absolutely(with a smile)
VO: How did you know about the school?
ME: I came across the school in late 2012 after I subscribed to the e-journals on the website of American Political Science Review. Subsequently, I carried out more research using: gradschool.com, collegeboard.org and usnews.com.
VO: You discovered the school in 2012, why are you just applying in 2014?
ME: I have been very busy with work, and I also had to prepare for standardized exams
VO: Oh! What exams did you write?
ME: GRE and Toefl
VO: pass me your score cards
(He looked at them for like 45 seconds and returned them)
VO: when did you graduate?
ME: August 2008
VO: (Counted down from 2008 to 2014 audibly) that is 6 years. Why are you just going for your masters and what have you been doing…
VO: Ok. I noticed you were denied a UK visa in 2011, what happened?
ME: That is very true. I applied with my girlfriend and we were both denied(lamba... I applied alone). We were asked to appeal against the decision but we never did
VO: Why not?
ME: My girl lost her dad at the time, and I needed to be by her side(yet another lamba)
VO: Thats good (nodded his head). Are you single or married?
ME: (as a sharp Nairaland guy) No, but I got engaged on May 5th.
VO: good. What other school did you apply to?
ME: University of Oregon and University of Oklahoma.
VO: good. So, is this your coming with you on this trip?
ME: no, she's very busy with work
VO: So, who's sponsoring you?
ME: My uncle
VO: Has he ever done something like this for you before?
ME: Absolutely! He has been responsible for my education since my mom died, and he has been very supportive of my dreams and aspirations. In fact, I have been living with him since 1993( Final lamba)
VO: do you have his bank statement?
Me…
This is probably the smartest transcripts I have seen here... The words in bold got me laughing. You stayed in Awo Hall in Ife? smiley

Congrats to all the new grantees.
PoliticsRe: Breaking News: FG To Create 18 New States – National Conference by godG: 8:50am On Jul 04, 2014
Good! At least, I'm getting closer to my dream of governing my state. smiley

Indeed, those who know about the hegemonic effects of some towns or cities on others will never go against this idea. Marginalization is alien to democracy. Everybody should be respected and given equal avenue to operates.

I keep wondering when a non-indigene of Ibadan will have that privilege of becoming the governor of Oyo State again. Akala actually did but those people frustrated him. If no be say dude sef na thug.

Good intention. But then, will state creation really solve our problems as a nation? I doubt it.

NYSCRe: Benefits Of Being A Platoon Leader by godG: 6:54pm On Jul 02, 2014
I was a Platoon Leader in camp.

Demanding. Because:

You might not really enjoy your camping being a leader.

E dey pain me say I no get time for 'package' cheesy. I was always exhausted.

You have to attend to so MANY things. You coordinate your platoon activities.

Your phone rings at leat 15 times daily. You get to work with the Platoon Officer and/or Commander whenever s/he calls.

You are like the father of the platoon members. Then, you will know that Nigerian graduates are really unemployable. You take excuse for them.

You make announcements in OBS, etc.

Benefits:

You get posted to wherever you want if you did well. Without a dime. My officials actually asked me where I wanted because they loved the job I did.

Likewise, you get access to firsthand info.

Another is that you might be licensed to go to mammi anytime if you have a good relationship with your Commander. Going out from the boring SAED lectures too won't be an issue for you. Just tell anybody that asks you that you are Officer Lagbaja's Platoon Leader. For me, almost all those soldiers knew me. Whenever them see me, dem go say:"Platoon 4 leader, how you dey?" My reply: "I'm good, sir." I go just waka like a boss.

Also, you will never get punished with your colleagues by your Commander. You chose what you want to do and what you don't want, because nobody expects you to kill yourself with all the demands that come with being the leader.

But please, don't mess with your colleagues' money. Be faithful, dedicated, listening, etc. and you would love the experience, because many people will look up to you - even after camp.

Right now, they still call me Platoon Leader wherever they see me.

But I no get time for package. cheesy Any avenue wey I see, na soso sleep.

Are you ready for this?

****Pls. excuse typos.

Charles.nerd:
My brother intends to apply to seven (7) US universities for his postgraduate education.

The cost of each transcript from his school is about N40,000 which sums up to N280,000.

we thought of using WES but after reading numerous reviews of poor customer service, needless delays and poor document management,it looks like using the service might be counter-productive.

Is there any other acceptable means to send these transcripts without spending the above amount?
Which school is that? I doubt if I paid up to #2,500to collect mine in Ife around April. How I love O.A.U.!
