OjaP: Thank you Sir godG. I am doing great and trying everyday to be kinder than necessary, because I understand that every man is fighting one kindda battle or the other.! |
OjaP: Teddy and IdawbawzYou have spoken well, Prof. This is a message from the gods. How are you, sir? |
Amerinancy: LOL no one hacked my account. I guess they thought I was a toothless dog, that's why they decided to unleash their uncivilization on me. Common kpomo men. I'm still polite, but not when anyone jokes with my teddy.Bolded: In English, please. You are still using derogatory words, dear. Okay, let it go. Remember, this: "Follow peace with all men." |
Who hacked Amerinancy's account? She isn't the one posting these. I have always known you to be polite and I'm sure many people regard you as a polite girl on this thread too. I think there should be a rule on this thread that forbids guys replying ladies harshly knowing how emotional the latter are. |
If the child has an annoying history of being destructive, s/he go hear am! However, if s/he is just trying to be creative for the first time, I would spare the rod that day hoping such wouldn't happen again. The day he tries that again, ... |

Behold insanity everywhere! A Play of Giants! Why na? I don't like people having issues on trivial issues of life.In as much as I would love it if we all could learn to be tolerant, we should be mindful of how we address people her because we are sons and daughters of different world and we consequently take and see things differently. Amerinancy dear, Where was the calmness that is typical of you? Come on, that reply was harsh. I'm not judging you, dear. Calmness is power and self-control is mastery.Let's us all remember that we can't be happy by bringing misery to the lives of others. O ya, aboki, pass me my suya. ![]() |

yokiti: slightly? my sister, as long as its not a full length trouser or 3/4; you are good to go. You will be suprised when you get to camp to see that the do's and dont rules are not water-tight.Hissexcellencie, there are no rules to how u are selected. Just have a likeable character and a willingness to serve. What actually worked for me was that I have always been a calm guy. When we got to camp, other people made it so obvious that they wanted that position. Some of them, in the course of selling themselves, were seen as lousy and rude. This really worked against them. On my own part, I never really had the intention of being a leader before I left home but you see, when you see some people volunteering to be leaders where you are, you tend to join the race for them not to have a way. In my platoon, those that came out were quite older than I am. When I stood up that day, it was massive. Like 90% of the members queued behind me. The three other guys shared the other 10%. Surprisingly, I was probably one of the youngest in my platoon. I know these because as a platoon leader, you tend to have access to the files and info of your members. In sum, no rule. Just show the willingness to serve and following your instincts. Best wishes. |
My first A was sweet. It happened to be my first result in the university and I was like, "so what is difficult in the tertiary education they are shouting about?" Alas, I got carried away and soon, it became an harvest of Cs. I got back to my senses when the realities dawned on me and it was fun all the way. I have never had an F in my life. #O.A.U.Ife |

The Eggons are really rooted for his impeachment. It is strange that the largest ethnic group in the state is alien to the seat. Dude is an ex-governor already. |

temi4fash: thanks... Pls wuld I b able to redeploy if I want to...Sure. If you have a good reason (marital or health) to redeploy, you will. Please note, redeployment is best done in camp; although, I read in the paper that NYSC will be strict with it now kind of. |
DrPhilABd: Thanks MA. Plz wat state are u serving or did u serve? & if I may ask, wt kinda jobs are u referring to dt ll keep u so busy? Many things can make a platoon leader work his/her ass out. Many things. I can't start listing all. I listed some already. ![]() |
temi4fash: Many many thanks bro.... But wat are the benefits of been an OBS member...Benefit of being a member of OBS? 1. You won't be posted to rural areas because most members of OBS end up in the Editorial/Publicity CDS and you can't do that in any place. 2. Depending on camp, you have license to run from parade by just staying in the studio. 3. With your tag, you walk in and out of lectures with ease. They will think you are on duty. 4. You learn some basic things about broadcasting. These are all I can remember for now. I was in OBS too but my platoon activities couldn't let me function very well. |
Samguine: Lols...I stayed in room 171 in my part 2. I think you said sometimes ago that I was the one that bounced you from your bunk. I still can't remember your face though. You remember Pharmacist Olu and his pastor bro in Agric that stays on the upper bunkSure, I remember them na. We stayed together for a year. |
DrPhilABd: Abeg repost the benefits of been the platoon leader again jhur... Plz quote me dis tym wit it.Here we go, sir: I was a Platoon Leader in camp. Demanding. Because: You might not really enjoy your camping being a leader. E dey pain me say I no get time for 'package'. I was always exhausted. You have to attend to so MANY things. You coordinate your platoon activities. Your phone rings at leat 15 times daily. You get to work with the Platoon Officer and/or Commander whenever s/he calls. You are like the father of the platoon members. Then, you will know that Nigerian graduates are really unemployable. You take excuse for them. You make announcements in OBS, etc. Benefits: You get posted to wherever you want if you did well. Without a dime. My officials actually asked me where I wanted because they loved the job I did. Likewise, you get access to firsthand info. Another is that you might be licensed to go to mammi anytime if you have a good relationship with your Commander. Going out from the boring SAED lectures too won't be an issue for you. Just tell anybody that asks you that you are Officer Lagbaja's Platoon Leader. For me, almost all those soldiers knew me. Whenever them see me, dem go say:"Platoon 4 leader, how you dey?" My reply: "I'm good, sir." I go just waka like a boss. Also, you will never get punished with your colleagues by your Commander. You choose what you want to do and what you don't want, because nobody expects you to kill yourself with all the demands that come with being the leader. But please, don't mess with your colleagues' money. Be faithful, dedicated, listening, etc. and you would love the experience, because many people will look up to you - even after camp. Right now, they still call me Platoon Leader wherever they see me. But I no get time for package. Any avenue wey I see, na soso sleep. Are you ready for this?****Pls. excuse typos. |
Samguine: And OAU is Awo....Part 1 & 2: Block 6 Rm.171 and 179 respectively. You moved in when I was moving out of 171. ![]() Part 3 & 4: Annex H 353 and G 248. |
DrPhilABd: What is the prerequisite to becoming a platoon leader & what are the benefits?Prerequisites: Having a likeable character and showing readiness to serve. I was actually the youngest of all the platoon leaders in camp. **"covers face. Benefits: I posted something on the benefits few days ago on a different thread. Try check my posts, sir. |
Darkchocolate: . Oyo dear. In Maami, guys spend that in a night to shayo. So, 6k ain't bad na. |
yokiti: Good move! Brother mi, how the home of solid minerals treating you. Yaya komi dai komi? Football CDS naa nko? Happy resumption if am not mistaken.Mungode, ba komi. Thanks. The state is fine. Getting interesting with all these politics of impeachment. CDS is fine o, I don give myself break today. I no go. Thanks. I believe you are faring well. May God enlarge your coast. |
Hello would-be corps members. To those of you who might not want to eat the food prepared in the kitchen, consider this: When I got to camp, I knew I wouldn't want to be queuing for food so, one of the first thing I did was to sort out the issue of food. I had a deal with someone that sells food in camp. I asked her if she could be feeding twice daily at a subsidized price. A plate where I camped was #250, I think and I bargained it to #150 without any drop in quality and quantity. So, let's do some Maths: #150 * 2=#300 #300*20= #6000. Alas, I fed fine in camp with just 6k for 3 weeks. I loved it. I just walked in whenever I like and demand for anything: fried rice, jollof rice, boiled rice, Eba, poundy, etc. It was a smart move, I guess. Most people that don't eat in the kitchen actually spend more than that. My meal ticket was actually given to ***winks**. But being the platoon leader, whenever it was the turn of my platoon to enter the kitchen, I eat whatever we cook. You might throw up if you eat some made-in-the-kitchen food sha. |
yokiti: Other categories are those that will end up using their certificates as a collateral at the beer joint ( dont let this suprise you ) till they pay the 19800 allawee because they are heavy drinkers and not stingy when it comes to impressing their new catches.I can't quantify what I learnt in Awo! Over and over again, Awo over any Hall. Awo is OAU! |
