Sorry about that. However, u weren't convincing based on what u provide here. Next time, show d Vo that u are a willing student. Instead of telling hi/her that u got to knw about d school through a friend, why not say that u did extensive Internet research and that u read thorough reviews about the school. The implication of what u said was that if u hv got no friend, u won't go to school. That shouldn't be!

And the issue of one school, no! U no try. I assume u took some tests, why not tell d VO about the schools on ur test application? Don't tell me u didn't write any.
U should re-apply! This too shall pass.

But really, for me, missing out on Batch A, B and C of 2013 was painful but who are we to question fate. I still can't believe it. Imagine! Oga, google it. Let 'Schools that accept 2.5 undergraduate CGPA for MSC admission' be your search query. You should have more than u need.

Sir do u mean spring 2014 or 2015? If the former, I'm afraid it might be too late. By now, most schools are done with admission decisions. Besides, having the time to register, prepare and sit for tests (SAT and/or TOEFL) might not be feasible now. Most schools will require either or both of those tests for Undergrad admission. This is October. If you are thorough with ur search, u could get 1 or 2 schools sha but I doubt it. All the best.

I have a friend who wants to go for m.sc in agric economics or related agricultural course. His cgpa isn't good 2.6/5.0 but he is preparing to smash GRE. I want to kw some cheap and averagely ranked schs he can apply to. can he get GA/TA considering his cgpa.

I will appreciate ur kind assistance as I kw little or nothing abt m.sc

Ermm...sir, tell that 'ur friend' to chk this out:
Bold 1: really, d cgpa is low, but u never can tell. After WES conversion, pray it falls between 2.5/4. The implication of this is that he might need to look for schools that accept a cgpa of 2.5 for admission.

Bold 2: I think that would be better. He's got no choice. +Ur friend should just forget about top notch schools o.

Bold 3: no one will do that for u sir, tell him to embrace google. www.usnews.com can help u on that. Afterwards, he should get a good SOP, brilliant LOR, then shoot! GA/TA depends on those most times.

On the whole, since he is 'ur friend', tell him to join this thread himself. Don't give him fish, teach him how to fish sir. Possibilities lie in being active. Let him put patience and vigour in his quest. He will be fine.

I drove a Permanent Secretary
To an important urgent function
In fact to a lunch at the Vic.

The menu reflected its importance
Cold bell beer with small talk,
Then fried chicken with niceties
Wine to fill the hollowness of the laughs
Ice-cream to cover the stereotype jokes
Coffee to keep the PS awake on return journey.

I drove the Permanent Secretary back.
He yawned many times in back of the car
Then to keep awake, he suddenly asked,
Did you have any lunch friend?
I replied looking straight ahead
And secretly smiling at his belated concern
That I had not, but was slimming!

Upon which he said with seriousness
That amused more than annoyed me,
Mwanainchi, I too had none!
I attended to matters of state.
Highly delicate diplomatic duties you know,
And friend, it goes against my grain,
Causes me stomach ulcers and wind.
Ah, he continued, yawning again,
The pains we suffer in building the nation!

So the PS had ulcers too!
My ulcers I think are equally painful
Only they are caused by hunger,
Not sumptuous lunches!

So two nation builders
Arrived home this evening
With terrible stomach pains
