FutureDon: Sir, the fact that it is a the trend (as you've claimed) does not mean 'submitting an application before writing the GRE' is unacceptable. You were so assertive in your response which failed to profer a direct answer to Mr UNIKLover's question.

In an attempt to answer other people's question, I think it's imperative that we give direct response to their questions instead of trying to express our opinion (except an opinion is sought). I have also noticed your forceful responses to people's questions, I don't think that's usually the best approach. Apologies if you comprehend this post as a rude one.

I was once a Novice in the US system before, and with the help of this thread, I now have my F-1 Visa.. I processed everything myself from day One till the End., All thanks to the support from useful help and informations I got from kind peeps here who are just like my brothers and Sisters..

So if I can do it Myself, Then why the Hell someone else like me can't do it on his own..

I have been following the forums for months.Thanks to all the guys helping us out here with Key Information.I also learnt how to register for GRE/Toeful here and I successfully registered by calling the number someone dropped here.

Getting Overwhelmed with the enormous tasks involve with GRE preparation especially those of Us working...I struggle to balance the time .
GRE is registered for Oct 24th. I have been reading all the materials recommended here for the last few months.

But this forum has been a form of encouragement to me.

It just only happen that 3rd of October was not the auspicious moment. Hope your account statement does not contain any mendacious details though? Check that and go back to the embassy and you will be granted your visa with immediate alacrity! Congrats in advance

obotubong: yea actually i am going for an associate degree in a community college, i may be the 1st you see granted visa for a community college if GOD permits. so my fingers are crossed.

winbyforce: I'm a bit worried about the 2.8 CGPA. U need to convert it to its US equivalent and know what it will be before u apply. Some schools will not accept a GPA below 2.5. I believe u have been advised on this matter before. You can write the TOEFL, it's not the crux of the matter. Na dat CGPA.

1.wen dey ask u a question nd u goof(like i goofed) don't shake, dnt blink, still look them straight in d eye nd either agree wit them or jst give ds oh! am sorry look
2. Pray, pray nd pray again. Pray for favour, dats all u need cos favor is unmerited grace even wen u goof favor wil wipe it clean, favor wil mak ur number apear in d window of d right VO
3. There is no such thg as over preparation keep reading researching nd research some more, though dey didn't ask me for anythg i don't regret d sleepless nights, d surfing my school website 1mill tymes nd d sleeping on ds nairaland page, beta 2carry a hammer 2kill a mosquito dan 2get der nd discover u took a toothpick 2kill a tiger
4. For the ladies don't carry makup, powder perfumes, combs, hair pins, hand wash, lotion, creame, biro in ur bag 2d embassy des items r not allowed a lotta ladies had 2dump dier expensive mary kay kits in d trash can, one lady emptied her whole bag inside dustbin, i had 2bribe d mopol guys 1k 2help me custody my comb,powder,perfume nd slippers(i took slipperrs o! femoric9: Now I've gotten two university that i want to apply to, university of Toledo and mid tennessy state university. My fear remains my B.Eng degree grade which is a 2.80 ( a.2/2) and my not too gud GRE score,149verbal and 155quantitative.I wish to apply for MS in Computer Science Engineering
I'm also seriously in need of graduate assistantship to support my tuition, but my low CGPA and not too gud GRE score is giving me serious concern. Pls,advice me on wat to do

femoric9: Pls house i'm a graduate of Electrical/Electronics from a nigerian university with a CGPA of 2.8 (a 2/2). I just finished the cumpulsory national youth service program in my country congrats on that. and i took my GRE on 25th September 2013, with a verbal score of 149 and a quantitative score of 155. 304 is still o great oga. I plan to apply for MS in computer science in a US university. Though,i have not gotten the percentile and essay score from ETS, but, please, with my weak first degree grade You might need to have your transcript evaluated by WES to get what ur cgpa will be on a scale of 4 which is what is being used in the US and my low GRE score to me, you GRE is not low. Saying that u have a low or high GRE depends so much on your choice of school. do i stand any chance of getting admitted in any accreditted USA university sure, with thorough research and a well tidied application package. I'm planning to apply to university of Toledo, Ohio state university, mid Tennessy university, east Tennessy university or any university near the state of kentucky. wait till you have ur transcript evaluated before you select schools. doing that will enable you know if your cgpa/4 meets what those schools want. My blood sister is my sponsor, she is a pharmist in kentucky and a US citizen. Though,i fear using her name as my sponsor may affect my chance of getting visa,since the VO may think that is an opurtunity for me not to come back to my country after my graduate program nice thought. Hence,i'm looking at using my elder brother who is an engineer in one of the telecommunication company here in Nigeria as my sponsor the brother in Nigeria seems better; it's a pointer to home-ties.  Also,i'm planning to go for some professional training in Software Programming,Computer Networking,Ethical Hacking and web security in india immediately after my program in US,do i need to tell the VO if i'm asked my plan after my MS.
