wrongchoice: COURTSHIP DAYS AND MY HATRED FOR WOMEN BEATERS During our courtship days I have always reiterated my stand on men that do beat their wife. I was of the opinion that they are not lesser than a beast. She is very quiet, she hardly finishes her words, and she was full of smile that my grandma named her “smiling smiling girl”. My family members were thanking God for me because of her gentle nature. She doesn’t have friends, she goes to church regularly. I went for her because I have seen a lot of unhappy homes and by all means I wanted to avoid such situation. Before her, I had seen many girls that I love and they equally love me too. I leave them immediately I see a sign of anger in them. So, I told her that all I wanted in my life was happiness and I will make sure I keep the home together and going smoothly in as much that happens. She has her trust issues which I thought they were necessary and not out of control (that was my greatest mistake), but aggressiveness and hatred ,I never had that thought a bit. She didn’t even look it.
MY FIRST SHOCKER After the introduction, she was eager for the wedding despite the fact that I hardly got employed in a small firm barely a year. We fixed the date and arrangements were going. 3 days before the wedding , I told my wife to-be that one of my friends promised to bring event ;ushers for our wedding just to add glamour to the day, she didn’t allow me to finish when she started shouting on top of her voice and with this kind of never seen before aggressiveness. I never saw such red eyes before in 2 years of our courtship and over 6 years as friends. She said my friends and I were bringing oloshos to sleep with for bash eve which I never even plan to have. Her argument wasn’t a concern but I never see her reacted that way. I cried and I knew I was in for a big trouble. THE REAL SHOW
Fast forward to after wedding. To my surprise, before any argument she would hit me, sometimes slap just less than 2 months in the marriage. I discovered she has the strength of 3 men. We are talking about a lady that never misses any church program as a youth and when we moved to our new area , she became more popular than myself in the church. This went on for a while coupled with terrible issues that I would be taken one after the other.
THE DAY OF LESSON There was this afternoon that an argument ensue base on (what I will share latter) , she took out knife, I collected it from her, she brought out fork I collected it from her, she resulted to my belt and she started beating me with it ,I didn’t even struggle with her just like before. She took her shoe hitting it on my head ,I didn’t even move, I wasn’t even angry self. She bite me on my shoulder and thumb which nearly had that finger off if not for quick medical attention. At this point a question flashed through my mind, “would this be how my live would be going?”. This woman may even ask me to lay flat to receive some lashes if I didn’t make attempt to stop her. I concluded that I have to do something. Then without any iota of anger in me. I raised my hand up and gave her 2 thunderous slaps across her face. She opened her mouth for complete 5 minutes she couldn’t close it. I knew she would be thinking she has over stepped her boundary. She started shouting that I have killed her and all sorts. People that never had me speak in that street for good one year I stayed their plus close to a year she has spent with me were aghast. Since that day many things changed for the worse. Though she stopped hitting me after that, except sometimes when she would push me against the wall and i get some bruises. I later travelled home and my siblings were asking me if my hands were tied to my back while a woman was inflicting all these injuries on my body. They saw both the fresh ones and the old bruises. It was a very big issue that families, church members had to intervene. I can tell you since that day things had never remain the same again. It was the beginning of trouble and unhappy home.
My question is this? If you were in my position what would you have done differently?

Nollyzonenews: The younger brother of late Tagbo Umeike has confirmed that singer Davido was indeed absent at his brother’s funeral in Anambra state yesterday.
The young man identified as Chigbo Umeike told Punch NG that his brother was buried yesterday in the absence of Davido and his representatives.
He also used the opportunity to debunk the notion that their mother had stroke due to Tagbo’s demise.
His words:
“My brother was buried on Friday and it is so sad that we have lost someone with a big heart. However, Davido was not present at the burial neither did he send a representative but at this point, we have no comment on that.”
“I would also like to use this medium to correct the notion that my mother has stroke because she doesn’t. We saw the report online but it is not true. The burial ceremony went well. I would miss my brother a lot because he had a big heart. He was not only my brother but a lot of people’s brother as well. Through my late brother, I have made a lot of friends turned brother and despite his death, I hope to still keep these wonderful people as my brothers. My sister in the UK came down for the burial. For now, we just finished burying my brother and we would want the dust to settle”.

Some people just aren't cut out for the realities of a high-pressure work environment - and it would seem the same goes for dogs.
Lulu the labrador's handler had high hopes of her becoming the CIA's latest bomb-sniffing talent, but it was not meant to be.
It started out well, according to a "pupdate" on the CIA's website, but soon started to go downhill. A few weeks into training, Lulu began to show signs that she simply "wasn't interested in detecting explosive odours", the blog post said.
"Lulu was no longer interested in searching for explosives," the post said. "Even when they could motivate her with food and play to search, she was clearly not enjoying herself any longer."
The post went on to say that the mental and physical wellbeing of the sniffer dogs is the CIA's priority, so they "made the extremely difficult decision to do what's best for Lulu and drop her from the programme".
But it is not all bad news, as handlers have the option to adopt dogs who are dropped. Lulu now has a new home, and spends her days chasing rabbits and squirrels in the garden - much less stressful.
It is not clear whether Lulu simply wasn't up to the challenge of sniffing out bombs, or whether it was all part of a cunning plan to never have to go to work.
Either way, she's happy, and so is her handler - and the CIA can now focus on its top dogs.

Explorers: The Nigerian Air Force has deployed some of its air assets to Plateau state in a bid to maintain peace in the state following reports of attacks.
In a statement by NAF on Thursday, October 19, it explained that the deployment was ordered by Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, the chief of air staff.
"The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has deployed some of its air assets and personnel to Jos, the Plateau State capital, to support Operation SAFE HAVEN to maintain peace and curtail senseless killings as well as possible spread of violence in some parts of the State.
The deployment was ordered by the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, in compliance with the directive of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammadu Buhari, to ensure that an end is put to the current spate of violence and killings in the state.

GT07115: I am a serving Corps members in Ondo state, and my girlfriend is a fashion designer and a student. In terms of financial needs, she is self sufficient.
But i don't really understand her. I love her that is the fact, i intend settling down with her very soon.
Most of the issues I have with her is that ; she wants me to call her at least three times a day , and most of the time we do chat on whatsapp, and I feel there is nothing really to say that will warrant me calling her, mind you I call her at least four times in a week, I am not a good caller anyway, but that doesn't reduce my love for her, I don't really know what she wants. contactmorak: A 15-year-old Junior Secondary School 2 pupil of Agbara Commuinty Junior Secondary School, Ogun State who was declared missing by the police in the state left many people in shock after she was found having fun in the boyfriend's house. The girl identified as Asmau Ajibade, went missing for seven days after she left home for school.
According to Punch Metro, the girl lived with the guardians, Alhaji Rauf Adetona and Alhaja Ajarat Adetona, in OPIC Estate, Agbara, off Lagos-Badagry Expressway, Ogun State before she reportedly disappeared.
Ajibade it was learnt had left the house at about 7.30am last Monday in her school uniform. The belief in the house was that she had gone to school. The guardians became apprehensive when it was 4pm and she had not returned home. Record of the school reportedly revealed that she was absent that day.
Ajarat said the girl had been living with them since she was four years old, adding that she was surprised by her disappearance. She said it was the first time she would leave home without returning.
''But a cobbler around here told us that he fixed her torn sandal that morning. The cobbler said she seemed to be in a hurry as she told him that somebody was waiting for her''.
The girl was rescued last Saturday while living with a guard identified as John who is her lover in the Agbara area of Ogun State. John was apprehended along with a cobbler, Moses who hooked the girl up with John.
One of the guardians, Alhaji Rauf Adetona, said Ajibade confessed that it was the cobbler who hooked her up with John, adding that she spent four days with the lover.
The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed John and Moses’ arrest.
The girl has been reunited with her guardians and the suspects arrested and they will be arraigned for abduction.
***The questions many have been asking now is,"where did she spend the remaining three days if she only spent four days with them but was missing for 7 days?. Just recently, another young girl was declared missing, only for her to be found having a blast with some men.Not to talk of another underage Nigerian girl found with a boyfriend inside a hotel room sometimes back.
