A Federal Superior Court in Abuja has granted a bond to the former president of the missing Pension Reform Task Force (PRTM), Abdulrasheed Maina, for N1 billion.

Maina is standing lawsuit before the court for alleged deviation of public funds estimated at around N2 billion, among other crimes related to money laundering.

In a ruling yesterday, Judge Okon Abang also ordered Maina to present two guarantees that should be serving the senators.

The guarantees, said the judge, should not be in any criminal trial in any court of the country.

The judge added that the two guarantees, which must sign a bond of N500 million, must always accompany Maina to court.

He said the guarantees could be from anywhere in the country, but that they must have acquired fully developed properties in Asokoro or in the Maitama district of Abuja with legal certificates of occupancy (C of O) issued by the relevant departments of the Ministry of Territory of the Federal Capital (FCT))

"The Chief Secretary of this court must, in writing, determine the validity or not of the occupancy certificates," said Judge Abang.

The judge said that the guarantees must present each three years of tax settlement certificates.

He ordered the defendant to deposit his US passports (US) in the Chief Court Registry, pending the conclusion of the trial.

“The accused will also deposit in the Chief Registry of this court his Nigerian international passports, his official and diplomatic passports, if any, have expired or not.

"When the first defendant does not have official or diplomatic passports, a letter from the Immigration Service will be obtained in this regard," he said.

Judge Abang said that the guarantees will be committed to appear before the court with the first defendant on all deferred dates, until the conclusion of the trial.

"When at least one of the guarantees is not in court with the defendant, the court will be free to revoke the bail of the first defendant and, consequently, order that it be remitted," Judge Abang said.

He added that the guarantees must also submit an affidavit of media with two passport photographs attached and determine their ability to pay the amount of the bond to the Federal Government or the Federal Superior Court in case they are requested.

The judge ordered the prosecution, through the investigating police officer (IPO), to, in writing, determine the houses of the guarantors in FCT, Abuja.

The process was postponed until November 26.

Unlike the case in her last two court appearances, Maina walked to the courtroom, on the second floor of the courthouse, without help.

He held himself with a cane.

Before ruling on the bail request, Judge Abang noted that even when the indictment attorney, Mohammed Abubakar, filed an affidavit to oppose Maina's bail request, the defense lawyer did not file an additional affidavit to counteract the problems posed by the prosecution.

The Toyota Prius was the world's first mass-produced electric petrol hybrid vehicle in the world. The national launch at the end of 1997 marked the culmination of a concerted five-year effort by Toyota Motor Corporation to develop and bring to the market a practical and low-emission family car.

Contrary to popular belief, Toyota has not developed the concept of a hybrid vehicle. The combustion engine and
electric motor vehicles already existed in 1898. However, Toyota was the first manufacturer to overcome the many technical and engineering problems necessary to drive this power-train to mass production. The focus was on the need to adapt the life of the high voltage battery to that of the other components of the vehicle.

At the heart of the new Prius (XW10 chassis) was the revolutionary Toyota Hybrid System, an integrated package whose mechanical components could still fit into a full-size engine compartment. The system was powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder NZ-series engine that performed a simulated Atkinson combustion cycle to achieve optimal fuel efficiency. Building on this, the next-generation Prius (XW20 chassis) has been completely redesigned to capitalize on Toyota's continued efforts to develop hybrid technology. It looks like the next Prius (XW30 chassis) has taken the benefits of Toyota's world-leading hybrid technology to an even higher level. The new Prius, considered the most advanced production car on the market, promises better fuel economy and performance, as well as reduced life cycle emissions from manufacturing to final disposal.

It set new standards for hybrid vehicles with a system output of 134 hp (plus 22 percent), a combined fuel economy of 72.4 mpg (plus 10 percent) and a reduction in CO2 emissions to just 89 g / km (a decrease of 14 percent).

All of this was achieved by seemingly counterproductive methods - a larger 1.8-litre Atkinson gasoline engine and a hybrid synergy propulsion system that was significantly smaller and lighter than before. In fact, 90 percent of the hybrid power train components were new.

By installing a larger displacement ZR engine, the Prius could achieve better fuel economy at lower revolutions - 300 rpm less at a cruising speed of 120 km / h. Meanwhile, a new exhaust gas re-circulation function has kept the operating temperatures under control so that the engine is less likely to require wasteful fuel enrichment to keep the catalysts cool.

The 2020 Mazda3 pretty much carries over and remains the choice of connoisseur for a compact car. For starters, the elegant sedan and the unique styles of the tailgate body are much more stylish than expected in this segment. The same applies to the cabin, which is functional yet stylishly minimalist

Then there is the driving experience, which continues to inspire those who appreciate a sharp response and a driver-oriented character. Switching to a less sophisticated rear suspension for this latest generation has
reduced part of the cornering ability, but that's a low percentage complaint. The larger dynamic beef may be that Mazda offers no hotter version in the vein of the Civic Si or VW GTI. Maybe it's not for everyone in the small car market, but everyone should at least consider it.

WHAT'S RECENT FOR 2020?

After the complete redesign last year, the updates for 2020 are easy. The basic equipment is now fitted as standard with the Mazda i-Active sense suite of accident prevention technologies and driver aids, which are also standard in all other trim levels.

Mazda's design eliminates visual clutter by reducing switchgear and effectively hiding vents and door handles. It just looks special.
The steering wheel, which looks sensational, is an absolute treat. Central console space is considerable, and Mazda's technical user interface, which was lagging behind the competition due to important usability issues, has been cleaned up. The dash-top screen is large and easy to see. The knob that controls it, similar to the BMW iDrive, is large and ergonomically placed on the center console. However, it is not a touchscreen as the Mazda engineers have found that searching for touch-sensitive symbols can distract attention. They are not wrong and the higher-mounted screen is easier to read at a glance. The lack of a touch screen makes it difficult to select icons in Apple Car-play, but the slider control also makes scrolling through playlists or podcasts easier. So it's an acceptable give and take. And with the latest Android Auto designed for non-touch screens, the dial is not a big deal for those connected to the Google ecosystem.

POWER AND FUEL CONSUMPTION

Each 2020 Mazda3 comes with a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine for 186 horsepower and 186 pound-foot of torque. This makes it the strongest and most powerful engine in its class with the exception of the performance variants. You can feel that the Mazda3 provides a lively acceleration while driving and is sucked in naturally. The throttle response is excellent. It may feel a bit slow for people accustomed to more sporty vehicles like the VW GTI, but most customers will quickly find the Mazda3.

Most versions comes standard with a six-speed automatic that eliminates the annoying features of higher gear or continuously variable transmissions when it comes to gear selection. The front-wheel drive is standard in the automatic, but unusual for the segment, all-wheel drive is an option.

The premium hatchback of the top class can be equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox (only front-wheel drive), which is the choice of the enthusiast. You'll love the excellent pedal position for a downshift tuned for speed, and though the gearshift is smooth and the goals are easy to find, the throws are a bit long and not particularly crisp.

Fuel consumption is 30 mpg in most versions with automatic and front-wheel drive. The manual drops to 29 mpg while four-wheel drive further lowers it to 28 mpg (sedan) or 27 mpg (hatchback). The most efficient variant is the front-wheel drive saloon, which combines 27 MPG City, 36 MPG Highway and 30 MPG.

Ford announced the expedition for the first time in May 1996. The full size four-door SUV was designed to replace the compact two-door Ford Bronco, which has been in production since 1966.

First-generation expeditions based on the U-platform of the Ford F-150. Both models - Expedition and F-150 - had a consistent appearance and common mechanical components, including engines, transmissions and front suspensions.

Partly due to this platform, the expedition was larger than most sports utility vehicles of the time. The longer wheelbase of the expedition (119 inches compared to 112 inches of the 1997 Lexus LX) allowed three rows of seats - the third seat is optional - which provide space for the driver and eight adult passengers. Above, the expedition discovered the sunroof carrier.

When the expedition was launched in October 1996, it was available in two versions: the Base XLT and the Eddie Bauer version of the upper class. The standard equipment of Eddie Bauer equipment included leather seats, a two-zone climate control and an electric sunroof.

Under the bonnet of the expeditions were V8 engines, which gave them enough towing capacity. The standard 4.6-liter V8 engine produced 215 hp and made 290 foot-pounds of torque. The second generation Ford Expeditions has been redesigned inside and out. The edgy look of the first generation was still the same, but simpler lines, tighter panel spacing and other minor body modifications made for a cleaner look. The interior has been provided with soft carpets, aluminum panels and new door panels.

The performance of the 4.6-liter engine increased to 232 hp and 291 foot-pounds of torque. The new 5.4-liter engine made 260 hp and 350 foot-pounds of torque. Subsequent modifications to the 5.4-liter engine increased its output to 300 hp and 365 foot-pounds of torque. For the 2005 model year update, Ford dropped the 4.6-liter V8 engine and made the 5.4-liter engine standard on all expeditions.

All panels are equipped with a new variable-power steering system that improves low-speed maneuverability and stability at high speeds. Ford combined the previous generation four-speed automatic transmission with new control software that recognized and adapted changes in dead-weight and road condition.

This generation was also noteworthy because it was the first expedition to use an independent rear suspension, a feature that all subsequent generations used. These modifications, coupled with a stiffer chassis, increased the trailer load by 800 pounds. One of the new safety features of this generation was an optional four-airbag system that protects the occupants in six directions.

Ford switched to a new T1 platform that allowed it to develop longer versions of standard expeditions. The new Expedition EL was 14.8 inches longer than the standard expedition, had more cargo space and was easily distinguished by its elongated cargo hold window. Like its predecessor, this generation used an independent rear suspension, which allows more cargo space in the rear.

The regular panels - Expedition XL, XLT, XLT Premium, XLT Sport, Limited and King Ranch - were given new hollow bars and multi-faceted headlights, giving them a more elegant look, among other things. The redesigned interior contained a new dashboard and a more distinctive center stack.

A new intelligent six-speed automatic transmission was standard on all expeditions. Ford later dropped the XL and XLT sport fairings for the 2013 model year. In the following years, Ford dropped the XLT Premium version and added a Platinum trim.

The third generation expeditions were powered by the same previous generation 5.4-liter V8 engine. With an increased output of 300 hp and 365 foot-pounds of torque, the expeditions could pull up to 9,200 pounds.

For the 2015 model year, Ford unveiled an EcoBoost 3.5-liter V6 engine with two turbochargers, which was designed with 365 hp and 420 foot-pounds of torque. Direct-injection into the new engine made the expedition more economical (15 miles per gallon city and 21 miles per gallon highway), and Ford decided to discontinue the 5.4-liter V8 engine.

This generation drives on a new chassis - the same that the automaker uses for the Lincoln Navigator with a three-inch wider wheelbase and a four-inch longer overall length.

The expedition with seven or eight seats is also one centimeter larger than its predecessors and has a lighter body made of aluminum alloy. The expedition is more spacious, has more leg room and weighs 300 pounds less than the previous generation.

There is also the Expedition MAX, which contributes almost one foot to the overall length of the vehicle, resulting in a nearly identical passenger compartment, but offers considerably more cargo space in the rear. As of 2018, the expedition will be MAX Ford's largest SUV.

The fourth generation Expedition and Expedition MAX are available in three trim levels: the XLT Base, the Limited and the Platinum Deluxe.

The XLT fairing is available in rear and four-wheel drive configurations. It features fabric covers, a push-button start, a 4.3-inch LCD panel in the instrument panel, and 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels.

The platinum paneling features air-conditioned and massaging leather seats, a forward sensor system and polished alloy wheels. It also slightly increases the engine power and torque of the engine.

All models use the Eco-boost 3.5-liter V6 turbocharged engine of the previous generation. The engine was upgraded to 375 hp (400 hp for the Platinum) and 470 foot-lb (480 hp for the Platinum).

If your brake light comes on, there are several options. One is easy to fix, the other could be an indication that there is a serious problem and you need to get your brakes checked as soon as possible.

When you start your car, the lights go on the dashboard. This is normal - it's a lamp test to make sure all the lights are ok. If you start your car and do not turn on the lights, this is a sign that you should have the bulbs replaced. If everything is alright, they should start again after a few moments. If the brake light remains lit, the most likely cause is that your handbrake is applied and as soon as you release it the light should go out. Brake pads contains metallic indicators that tell you when your brake pads are nearing the end of their service life and need to be replaced.

Essentially, brakes should squeal to warn you in advance that you need to take action. If you wear the pads to this point, the gauge will push against the rotor, indicating that the pads are ready to be replaced.

If you take action in this case, you will later save much more expensive repairs, as with complete wear of the brake pads, the rotor itself can be damaged. If the noise is more like a crunching sound than a squeak, it can only be a piece of stone stuck in the caliper - which is easy to fix - or an indication of something more serious.

If it is not caused by a stone in the caliper, a grinding noise may be an indication that the brake pads are excessively worn. In both cases, it is wise to get a professional exam as soon as possible.

This is a common problem and can have several causes, all of which are due to minor defects or deformations of the rotors.

If the front rotors warp or have other irregularities, this can cause vibration when you apply the brakes. Another cause could be imprints of brake pads - here the car sits for a while and the rotors start to rust. The place where the brake pads are located is protected from rust, which makes the rotors uneven.

The rotor surfaces may be uneven for several other reasons, but whatever the root cause, the result is the same. Remember, these are tiny differences that are barely perceptible to the naked eye. However, as the wheels rotate at such high speeds, even this tiny difference causes this effect.

The simplest solution, if you see the problem early enough, is to let the rotors re-appear.
