Engaging The Power of Thanksgiving

One of the fundamental purposes for man's creation is to give GOD praise and Thanks.

‭1 Peter 2:9 KJV‬
[9] But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Every child of GOD is ordained a vessel of praise. Gratitude, thanksgiving and praise is ordained to be the lifestyle of every child of GOD.
If it is not uttered, it is not offered.

‭Ephesians 5:4 KJV‬
[4] neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

‭1 Thessalonians 5:18 KJV‬
[18] In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

We are created by GOD as vessels of Thanksgiving.
It's important to know that, no matter where you are in life, your life is blessed.
There is always something in your life that is someone else's prayer point.

We acknowledge HIS blessings in Thanksgiving.

There are blessings you desire, but GOD wants you to recognize the blessings you already have.

What Thanksgiving Offers!

We serve a prayer answering GOD

[14] And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: [15] and if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

[7] Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: [8] for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

But it takes Thanksgiving to secure our answers.

3. Our prayer requests are 'responded' to with Thanksgiving

[36] For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

We go before GOD, with thanksgiving, enter our request with thanksgiving, our requests are attended with thanksgiving, and the outcome is collected with thanksgiving.

If you have an answer with GOD, then you collect your answer with thanksgiving.
A lifetime of answered prayers require a lifetime of offered thanksgiving.

LORD, I receive grace to live a live of continuous thanksgiving in Jesus name.

Engaging The Power of Thanksgiving

"There is enormous power in Thanksgiving", however, this power doesn't work on its own. It has to be engaged for it to produce in our lives.

What is Thanksgiving?

Thanksgiving is the acknowledging of GOD'S blessings in our lives, so that HE can preserve them.

[2] Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all his benefits: [3] Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; Who healeth all thy diseases;

‭Psalm 3:5 KJV‬
[5] I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.

Thanksgiving is celebrating the integrity of GOD'S Word, so that HE can perform them in our lives.

Thanksgiving is appreciation in anticipation; of that miracle job, new house, new vehicle, etc.
We don't have to wait till it happens, we can thank GOD in anticipation.

That's the secret we see Jesus put to work

GOD'S plans for HIS children are revealed through prophetic Scriptures and prophetic words through HIS prophets

GOD'S Word is the more sure word of prophecy.
So many things written about you and I, the major way to make these happen is through Thanksgiving.

In conclusion, it takes thanksgiving to secure fulfilment of prophecies.

GOD cannot help our lives beyond the prescription of HIS Word. Without Thanksgiving, you cannot move the Hand of GOD in your direction.

No anointing has capacity to break Scriptures.
Giving Thanks to GOD continually, is what the Bible describes as the sacrifice of our lips.

It doesn't matter what GOD does for us, there's always more.
Nothing triggers and sustains blessings like thanksgiving.
As we thank HIM, then we continue to access more of HIS agenda on our lives.

For every battle in the life of a child of GOD, is a victory in waiting.
Battles are common in life, but the thanksgiver is sure of victory. It doesn't matter what It is, the victory is secured.

Thanksgivers don't suffer defeat.
David the Psalmist was David the always victorious. He was a serial thanksgiver

1. We can't stop challenges but we can determine what comes of it.

2. We do not need physical strength to fight our battles, we need thanksgiving strength.

David Olaniyi Oyedepo was born in Osogbo, Nigeria, but a native of Omu-Aran, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

He was raised in a mixed religious family. His father, Ibrahim, was a Muslim healer while his mother, Dorcas, was a member of the Holy Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church (C&S), a branch of the Aladura movement in Nigeria.

He was raised by his grandmother in Osogbo, who introduced him to the virtues of Christian life via early morning prayers which she attended with him.

In the year 1969, (Bishop) David Oyedepo was led to Christ by a foreign missionary to Nigeria, Mrs Betty Lasher (of blessed memory)

David Oyedepo studied architecture at the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, and worked briefly with the Federal Ministry of Housing in Ilorin before resigning to concentrate on missionary work.

The young Oyedepo received a Ph.D. in Human Development from Honolulu University, Hawaii, US.

According to Bishop David Oyedepo, he received a mandate from GOD through an 18-hour vision in May 1981, to liberate the world from all oppressions of the devil through the preaching of the word of faith.

Bishop David O. Oyedepo received the call into the ministry through a heavenly vision, where he saw a lineup of battered, beaten, tattered, deformed, groaning for escape, he began sobbing with the. In response to his question, ‘but why Lord?’ GOD answered,
“But from the beginning it was not so, and now the hour has come to liberate the whole world from all oppression of the devil through the preaching of the world of faith and I AM sending you to undertake this task.” Today, he stands as an Apostle of Faith to the nations, the impact of whose ministry has continued to spread across many nations of the world.

September 17, 1983, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of GOD, ordained David and his wife, Florence Abiola Akano (known as Faith Abiola Oyedepo) to become pastors and officially commissioned the new church.

Five years later, David Oyedepo was ordained as Bishop.

He was first recognized in 2011 by Forbes magazine as being the richest pastor in Nigeria, later as the richest clergy in the world.

By divine leading, the Living Faith Church, under the Apostolic leadership of Bishop David Oyedepo, is presently constructing the "debt free" Ark Legacy Project, which is scheduled to be completed by November 2025, and will definitely send waves across the world upon completion. it is scheduled to be the biggest Christian worship auditorium in the world.

There is nothing magical or mystical about the supernatural. It is simply something naturally unexplainable.
It connotes signs and wonders.

From Scriptures, we understand that the supernatural follows those on the go for Christ.
The miraculous is an aftermath of being on the go for Christ.

GOD moves with movers. GOD goes with goers. GOD never sits with sitters.

We are on the go, either on the prayer altar, or in passionate pursuit of the lost.

Just like in the natural, when a family member is missing or kidnapped, there is no rest. There are all kinds of efforts to recover them. So is it with the Kingdom.

[3] Know ye that the LORD he is God: It is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

[4] Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

[16] And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

Salvation is bringing man into the fold of the redeemed. That is why Heaven is celebrating at the return of any lost soul, just like in the case of the prodigal son.

The Lagos Police Command has commenced investigation into circumstances leading to the altercation between a police officer and an elderly woman in Alagbado area of the state.
In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the Command's PPRO, SP Benjamin Hundeyin stated that, "The Lagos State Police Command has commenced investigation into circumstances leading to the altercation captured on video between a police officer and an elderly woman."

According to the statement, "Preliminary investigation reveals that the incident took place in Alagbado area of Lagos State in the first week of September, 2024."

"The Police Inspector and his supervising DSP have been brought in for questioning while the Complaint Response Unit has established contact with the woman in the video."

"The Lagos State Police Command totally condemns the unprofessional conduct of the Inspector as it does not represent the ethics and operational standards of the Nigeria Police Force."

"The Command equally assures Lagosians that the investigation will be swift, thorough and conclusive, while ensuring that the officers are disciplined as appropriate and members of the public are updated accordingly."

Everyone born of GOD is ordained to be a wonder to their world.

Ordained to be a commander of signs and wonders.

One vital condition is our commitment to the advancement of the Kingdom of GOD.

GOD does not empower us to sit, but to serve.

Stones refer to souls of men being established.
