Change of Story In The Kingdom is not a product of chance, but a product of choice.
A choice of the covenant; to stand, live and operate by the covenant.

It puts every believer on an equal playing field

Serving GOD and the interests of HIS Kingdom is a vital requirement for accessing the Blessings. No substitute.

There's always what man must do to make GOD to move.

1. We do not beg to be free from generational curses; we simply serve our way into freedom
The simplest way to escape generational captivity

[25] And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee. [26] There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil.

Working and earning doesn't equal fulfilment.
The core essence of man's creation is service to the creator, and therein lies man's fulfilment

We are fulfilled in our service to GOD.

GOD is not looking for who to abase, but who to elevate. Service to GOD is the cheapest way to man's elevation.

Every provision is available to whosoever aligns with the conditions attached. Those who meet the condition never miss the provision.
We do not beg, rather we serve our way.
Never forget that GOD is a responsible FATHER, who never needs reminder about HIS responsibilities.

We do not beg to be fruitful, we simply serve our way into fruitfulness. It is the heritage of GOD for all HIS children.

We are not in a begging kingdom, but we are in a 'doers' kingdom

GOD blesses as we do. The character of GOD is the character of covenant. HE is a covenant keeping GOD, not a Father Christmas GOD. For every provision, there is a condition. We obey our way through.

Obedience is the trademark of service

Serving GOD is simply trademarked by our obedience to GOD. Our service to GOD is what procures blessings from GOD.

1. We don't beg to walk in health, we serve to live a healthy life. Our health and vitality is in our stewardship.

Sickness can hinder the productivity of a believer, but GOD removes whatever it is that seeks to hinder our productivity

Every opportunity to serve GOD is an opportunity for GOD to service us. When GOD is managing your health, there's security against sickness and diseases.

The prices of perishable items have recorded a fall in some major towns in Yobe, Borno and Adamawa states, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

NAN check at Perishable Items Market, Damaturu in Yobe, revealed that the prices have dropped by about 50 per cent.

A big basket of tomatoes sold at N120,000 between April and May now cost N40,000, while a small basket previously sold at N75,000 is now going for N18,000.

A bag of pepper sold at N170,000 same period now cost N82,000, while a bag of pepper goes for N70,000 as against N75,000 sold in July.

Similarly, a bag of Okro which was sold at N50,000 within the period under review, now goes for N25,000.

However, prices of onions have increased as a bag of the item which cost between N28,000 and N30,000 three to four months ago, now rose to N50,000.

The market’s Chairman, Alhaji Muazu Abbas, attributed the drop to arrival of new items in the market.

“Prices of perishable items usually drop whenever harvests are made and new goods arrive in the market, but the prices rise when there is shortage of goods,” he said.

However, the price of yam has skyrocketed at Bayan Tasha Market in the metropolis.

NAN check revealed that two small tubers of yam sold at N1,500 in 2023, now cost N4,000, while three big tubers that went for N3,500 within the period, now go for N15,000.

When contacted, the Yam Sellers Leader in the market, Alhaji Habibu Mohammed, blamed the sharp rise on shortage of supply of the items to the market.

He also blamed the hike on an increase in the cost of transporting the items to the market from Taraba, Benue, Nasarawa and Plateau states

On his part, Alhaji Usman Ngari, Chairman, All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Yobe Chapter, expressed concern over the high cost of establishing food crop storage facilities.

“Storage facilities preserve crops and increase profit, especially in cultivation of perishable items.

“Unfortunately, establishing such factories is capital intensive and most of us do not have that kind of money,” he said.

Ngari called on the government at all levels to support farmers with capital to acquire storage facilities to boost their productivity and income levels.

In Borno, the prices of perishable goods are the same as Yobe, but the traders said they are still looking forward to more fall in prices in a few months when farmers will start harvesting tomatoes and other perishables in the state.

“The supplies we are getting now are from Kaduna and Kano,” Isa Mohammed, a dealer in Maiduguri vegetable market said.

Mustapha Usman, a grain dealer said the prices of grains produced in Borno like local rice, beans, maize, and millet have continued to remain high and could only come down when harvest commenced in October.

Also in Adamawa, while there was a fall in prices of perishables due to harvest, that of grains have continued to remain high.

Alhaji Aliyu Mohammed, the Chairman of Adamawa Chapter of the Nigeria Small Scale Industrialists, noted that a bag of 100kg of maize that used to sell for N60,000 last year by this time is now N90,000.

“That of white bean that sold for N75,000 is now N160,000.”

“We just have to wait and what will happen when the harvest commences in a few weeks.” (NAN)

The Pacific Ocean is the largest and deepest of the five main oceans. We know that it covers about 32% of the earth’s surface. There are about 25,000 islands located inside of it, and it has the largest array of plants and animals than any other ocean in the world. There are thousands of things we do know about the Pacific, but there are still numerous mysteries that haunt the massive area of water, from unknown animals and sounds to strange disappearances. Here are ten unsolved mysteries of the Pacific Ocean.

10. Underwater Volcanoes
One of the world’s largest volcanoes lies deep in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The Havre volcano lies 3,000 feet (914 meters) below the sea’s surface, producing the largest deep-water eruption ever recorded. In 2012, lava rose from 14 separate vents and poured out for about 90 days. Even though the size of the eruption was massive, it almost went unnoticed. As a commercial airplane traveled over the ocean, a passenger spotted something odd in the water. The passenger contacted a geologist about what she saw, and it prompted a huge search in the ocean that led to the discovery of the volcanic eruption.
Surprisingly, about 70% of volcanic eruptions occur beneath the water, but scientists still have difficulty understanding these phenomena. These volcanic eruptions create different types of lava because pressure and the interaction between water and cooling magma aren’t the same as when a volcano erupts on the land. Scientists are still working to determine how these interactions form the different types of lava of an underwater eruption. The underwater eruptions tend to go unnoticed and can be very deep in the ocean, making it challenging for scientists to study them.[1]


9. Mariana Trench
The deepest oceanic trench on Earth is located in the western Pacific Ocean. The Mariana Trench is about 1,580 miles )2,542 kilometers) in length and is crescent-shaped. The deepest point of the trench is known as the Challenger Deep and sits at the southern end of the trench, about 36,089 feet (11,000 meters) deep. Just to show the magnitude of its depth, the Mariana Trench is also deeper than Mount Everest is tall.
The Mariana Trench is still very much a mystery because of the difficulty of reaching such depths. This is one of the most remote and unreachable places on Earth, with only a handful of attempts to reach the bottom to study the maritime environment. Most recently, the submersible Deepsea Challenger was piloted by filmmaker James Cameron and reached a record depth of 35,754 feet (10,898 meters). Even with these challenges, scientists continue to explore the mysteries hiding in the depths of the Mariana Trench.[2]


8. Deep-Sea Monsters
Several deep-sea giants have been discovered in the ocean, but scientists believe there are still many deep-sea monsters lurking in the depths of the Pacific Ocean. As you dive deeper into the ocean, the pressure rises immensely, lowering the temperature to near freezing. This creates a hostile environment that houses animals we can only imagine. There are several rumors of giant squids, monster whales, and other unknown large sea animals lurking beneath the surface of the Pacific Ocean.
In January and February of 2024, a Pacific Ocean expedition off the coast of Chile uncovered more than 100 unknown marine species. The new species discovered included sea urchins, mollusks, and lobsters. Scientists say that fully identifying the species found could take several years. Still, these expeditions are important to help advance the knowledge of life that is on Earth. Even though this expedition didn’t reveal any new giant monsters, it doesn’t mean the next one won’t.[3]


7. Ghost Ships
A ghost ship is a vessel with no crew aboard found drifting in the ocean. Some stories of ghost ships are just eerie tales with no supporting facts, but real ghost ships have been discovered in the Pacific Ocean. In 1955, all 25 passengers aboard the American merchant ship MV Joyita mysteriously vanished. The ship was later found adrift in poor condition with no one aboard. Several theories for the passenger’s disappearances have been talked about, including insurance fraud, a Japanese attack, and even a mutiny, but their disappearance is still a mystery.
In 2021, an underwater volcano raised two dozen ghost ships from the Pacific Ocean near Tokyo. The 24 ships were sunk by U.S. forces in the Battle of Iwo Jima during World War II. The ships were captured by the U.S. Navy and purposefully sunk parallel to the shoreline to form a breakwater for protection. There are likely more ghost ships waiting to find their way to the top of the ocean, which will create more mysteries that need to be solved.[4]


6. Yonaguni Monument
The Yonaguni Monument is a fascinating underwater structure located off the coast of Yonaguni Island, Japan, that has captured the attention of researchers and adventurers alike. Discovered in 1986 by a diver, this submerged formation consists of massive flat terraces, sharp right angles, and pillars, resembling a man-made structure. However, its origins remain a mystery.
Some geologists argue that the monument is a natural formation resulting from tectonic activity and erosion over thousands of years. Others believe it could be the remains of an ancient civilization, possibly submerged due to rising sea levels around the last Ice Age, over 10,000 years ago. Supporters of the artificial theory point to the structure’s straight edges and apparent carvings as evidence of human craftsmanship.
Regardless of its origin, the Yonaguni Monument continues to intrigue explorers and researchers. It has inspired numerous theories and debates about whether it represents a lost chapter of human history, perhaps even an ancient Pacific civilization similar to Atlantis. The monument’s enigma, submerged beneath the ocean, remains one of the greatest unsolved mysteries of the Pacific Ocean.[5]


5. Mysterious Sounds
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, also known as NOAA, has been investigating mysterious sounds from the Pacific Ocean for years. The Bloop, the Upsweep, and the Slow Down are a few of these puzzling sounds that have been recorded. The NOAA uses hydrophones positioned in various places of the ocean to collect digital records of sounds in the ocean.
The Bloop was an ultra-low frequency detected by the NOAA in 1997. The mysterious underwater sound was thought to either be from an ice quake or an unknown living creature. The Upsweep was discovered in 1991 by NOAA after detecting a train of narrowband upsweeping sounds. It can still be heard during the spring and fall, but the origin is still a mystery. These are just a few of the spooky sounds from underwater that are unknown to scientists.[6]


4. Vanished Islands
We’ve all heard of the tale of Atlantis, but there are other islands that have mysteriously vanished in the Pacific Ocean. The island of Teonimanu, part of the Solomon Islands, disappeared hundreds of years ago after rapidly sinking. Most likely, the island was destroyed after being affected by a large underwater volcano. It triggered a massive landslide, causing part of the island to shift underwater. Then, large tsunami waves trampled the sinking island.
In 1774, Captain James Cook charted the island of Sandy, and it was recorded in Cook’s Chart of Discoveries Made in the South Pacific Ocean. The island was mentioned again in 1876 after the ship Velocity reported Sandy Island as well, and it was then reported on several maps. The island was even spotted on Google Maps until just recently.
In 2012, Australian scientists failed to locate Sandy Island and recorded ocean depths of no less than 4,300 feet (1,310 meters), where it should have been. Was the island ever there? Did it mysteriously vanish? No one actually knows the truth about Sandy Island, making it one of the biggest mysteries of the Pacific Ocean.[7]


3. Great Pacific Garbage Patch
The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is a large patch of marine debris floating in the Pacific Ocean. Its name would lead you to think that it was a large island full of Coke bottles, burger wrappers, and other garbage floating together, but it is actually mostly made up of tiny bits of plastic called microplastics. These microplastics aren’t always visible to the naked eye, and they tend to make the water look soupy. They are formed from plastic bottles and other plastics that start breaking down but never actually dissolve. About 70% of the garbage ends up underwater at the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.
Scientists don’t know how much debris makes up the area because it is too large to net and work around. Since the area of marine debris is far from all nations, nobody wants to spend money to help clean it up. The biggest mystery dealing with the garbage patch is how it will affect the ocean and marine life. We know the floating island of garbage isn’t good for the ocean, but scientists are still determining just how bad the environmental implications could be in the future.[8]


2. Disappearances
The Pacific Ocean is home to several mysterious disappearances, but the most well-known is Amelia Earhart’s plane crash. The plane wreckage was never located, but it is believed that she crashed over the Pacific after running out of fuel. Carlo Giuseppe Bertero, an Italian physicist, mysteriously disappeared on a voyage from Tahiti to Chile. Mildred Doran and William Portwood Erwin were pilots who disappeared two days apart during the famous Dole Air Race. Other notable people who mysteriously vanished in the Pacific include Charles Ulm, Richard Halliburton, Paul Mooney, Theodore Kara, and Gerry Roufs.
The Pacific Ocean is also home to the Devil’s Sea, where many planes and ships have mysteriously vanished. The location of the Devil’s Sea is off the coast of Japan. Some explanations from scientists for the strange disappearances in the area include underwater volcanoes, methane hydrates, hot and cold currents causing turbulence, and seismic activity. Still, many of the incidents in the area remain a mystery.[9]


1. Lost Continent of Mu
Some people believe the long-lost continent of Mu, also known as Lemuria, once existed in the Pacific Ocean between 10,000 and 50,000 years ago. They think that more than 60 million people called Mu home, and those people belonged to a civilization known as Naacal. Mu was first mentioned in the works of British-American writer Augustus Le Plongeon. He believed that Egypt and Mesoamerica were created by refugees from Mu.
The lost island of Mu was then later mentioned by James Churchward in many of his writings. He believed the continent was positioned somewhere between Easter Island and Marianas from east to west, and it was somewhere between Hawaii and Mangaia from north to south. He claimed that a series of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions caused the continent to be destroyed. Geologists do not believe in the myth of Mu because they think it is impossible for a continent to be destroyed in that short period.[10]

Even though serving GOD has several benefits, but don't serve GOD mainly for the rewards. The benefits should not be the main reason we are serving HIM.

Why should we?

We should serve GOD because of who HE is, and because HE deserves it.

I'm serving GOD, not just because of benefits, but because of who HE is, and because HE deserves it.

Serving GOD goes beyond mere actions, but actually a heart attitude and way of life.
No one ever serves GOD in vain.

Benefits of Serving GOD

1. Express answers to prayers

[16] Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

The trademark of a servant/service is obedience, but the response to service is blessing.

The hope of man is very crucial to the experience of man. What you look forward to is what GOD makes happen in your life.
Just like, until the gear in a car is engaged, the car can't move, same thing until hope is engaged, expectations will not come to pass.

How to Engage Our Faith
1. Be fully persuaded on what is written
‭Romans 4:21 KJV‬
[21] and being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
Be persuaded on HIM (GOD) and HIS promise; men of faith are usually men of persuasion. Don't bother about what is happening, what GOD has said will surely come to pass.

2. Never give room to depression
It is a robber of rewards. Absence of joy is absence of hope. Faith is the heart, hope is expressed. Hopeful people are joyful people

[11] Be ye ashamed, O ye husbandmen; howl, O ye vinedressers, for the wheat and for the barley; because the harvest of the field is perished. Refuse to be cast down. When hope goes down, faith automatically goes down

[1] Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
In other words, faith and hope work interchangeably. The question is
What do you as a person expect?
The topic says 'rewards' (plural not singular), many more waiting for us. Let us not allow past rewards rob us of what is waiting for us.

What you don't hope for, you can never partake of.

Stagger means doubt, hesitate, unbelief, waver-Abraham staggered not.

Every spirit of discouragement is cursed in Jesus name. You too shall recover all. I shall recover all in Jesus name.

Hope is the anchor to see the delivery of GOD'S agenda
When hope is down, faith is automatically down. Absence of hope is absence of faith

Abraham drew his expectation from what GOD has said- your situation should not determine your expectation but your expectation should determine your situation.

Adaora Umeoji Highlights Zenith Bank’s Robust Financial Metrics: Says Bank Is Poised To Cross The N1 Trillion Mark In Profit In 2024

Zenith Bank Plc, Nigeria’s leading financial institution, held its Capital Markets Day last week to showcase the bank’s inherent values as it embarks on its recapitalisation journey.

The event, which brought together key market players, focused on the bank’s growth trajectory, strategic objectives, market performance, and consistent, robust dividend payout over the years. It also provided an opportunity for the bank to inform capital market stakeholders about its robust risk management culture, adherence to regulations, capital adequacy, and maintenance of low non-performing loan levels.

Addressing capital market stakeholders, investors, and analysts at the event in Lagos, the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Dame Dr Adaora Umeoji, highlighted the financial institution’s tier-1 capital of N1.8 trillion, shareholders’ funds of N2.3 trillion, market capitalisation of N1.3 trillion, a profit before tax of N796 billion, and a dividend of N4 per share for the year ended December 2023. Providing guidance for 2024, she noted that, given the trend of the bank’s performance and having achieved a profit before tax of N796 billion in 2023 and N320 billion in the first quarter of 2024, the bank is on track to deliver over N1 trillion in profit before tax in 2024. She expressed confidence that, with the quality of the board and management and a strong corporate culture, the bank is well-positioned to deliver superior value to investors and other stakeholders and to navigate the recapitalisation process successfully. She also disclosed some of the bank’s future plans, which include driving financial inclusion, expanding corporate and retail banking through technology and other state-of-the-art digital platforms, and establishing a fintech subsidiary, ZenPay, to drive profitability. Additionally, the bank intends to expand to France and other Francophone African countries.

Dr Umeoji explained, “For us at Zenith, we won’t be left out. We are planning to go to the market to raise capital, and as it stands, Zenith Bank has the least amount of capital to raise. We are looking to raise N230 billion because we are already at N270.7 billion. That is the least capital to raise among our peers. We believe that Zenith Bank has what it takes. We have the capacity, the network, the balance sheet, the human capital, and the track record to achieve that. We are planning for the future, and the technology we have now is the best in the entire industry. It will help us to have a seamless process and integrate.”

Also speaking, the Chief Financial Officer/General Manager, Dr Mukhtar Adam, pointed out that in the last five years, the bank’s Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) in revenue has grown by over 27 per cent. “This continues to grow year-on-year. Within this period, at some point, Nigeria went into recession, but we forged ahead, worked very hard, and continued to deliver growth. Within the last five years, our profit before tax has also grown cumulatively by about 28 per cent. This is a market where, at some point, government instruments – treasury bills – were paying one per cent, two per cent, three per cent. But we forged ahead to grow the numbers and provide stable returns of at least 28 per cent.”

Zenith Bank recently emerged as the Best Commercial Bank, Nigeria, in the World Finance Banking Awards 2024, retaining the award for the fourth consecutive year. The bank was also named Best Corporate Governance, Nigeria, for the third year running in the World Finance Corporate Governance Awards 2024. The awards, published in the Summer 2024 issue of World Finance Magazine, recognise the bank’s robust financial performance, superior customer service, sustainability initiatives, and corporate governance practices.

In its audited results for the year ended December 31, 2023, Zenith Bank achieved a remarkable triple-digit growth of 125 per cent in gross earnings, from N945.6 billion reported in 2022 to N2.132 trillion in 2023. The impressive growth in gross earnings resulted in a year-on-year increase of 180 per cent in profit before tax (PBT), from N284.7 billion in 2022 to N796 billion in 2023, while profit after tax (PAT) also recorded triple-digit growth of 202 per cent, from N223.9 billion to N676.9 billion for the period ended December 31, 2023.

The increase in gross earnings was primarily due to growth in interest and non-interest income. Specifically, its interest income increased by 112 per cent, from N540 billion in 2022 to N1.1 trillion in 2023, while non-interest income grew by 141 per cent, from N381 billion to N918.9 billion in the same period. The rise in interest income was attributed to the growth in the size of risk assets and their effective repricing, alongside the increase in yield of other interest-bearing instruments over the year. Growth in non-interest income was driven by significant trading gains and an increase in gains from the revaluation of foreign currencies.

Zenith Bank’s cost of funds also grew from 1.9 per cent in 2022 to three per cent in 2023 due to the high interest rate environment, while interest expense increased by 135 per cent, from N173.5 billion in 2022 to N408.5 billion in 2023. Notwithstanding the 32 per cent growth in operating expenses in 2023, the Group’s cost-to-income ratio improved significantly from 54.4 per cent in 2022 to 36.1 per cent in 2023 due to improved top-line performance. Return on Average Equity (ROAE) increased by 118 per cent, from 16.8 per cent in 2022 to 36.6 per cent in 2023, underpinned by improved gross earnings, as the Group sought to deliver better shareholder returns. Return on Average Assets (ROAA) also grew by 95 per cent, from 2.1 per cent to 4.1 per cent in the same period.
