Why People Are Sleeping With Their Two Eyes Closed In Ondo State - Ondo Amotekun Corps Commander, Adetunji Adeleye

The Ondo State Security Network (codenamed AMOTEKUN) has proven to be a force for good in the state under the leadership of the Corps Commander, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye since its establishment four (4) years ago by the late former Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu. This was in the face of heightened economic and political tension that was about to tear down the state. It would be recalled that the state had degraded into such a bad shape with a terrorist attack on a church in Owo, incessant farmer-herder crisis, numerous kidnapping, daylight bank robberies and highway robberies, among other security challenges.
 
It was at this point that Akogun Adetunji Adeleye was saddled with the responsibility of leading the AMOTEKUN Corps in order to restore sanity into the state. Since then, the Corps Commander Adetunji Adeleye who doubles as the Chairman of Council of AMOTEKUN Corps Commanders in the Southwest (comprising Ekiti, Osun, Oyo, Ogun, and Ondo states) has done incredibly well in restoring confidence of the citizenry and peace and stability in the state.
 
This intervention has been hailed widely across the country as a testament to the fact that the community approach is the best way out of the many security issues around the country.
 
The hardworking Corps Commander of the Ondo State AMOTEKUN Corps, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye had an exclusive interview with the security beats association, National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) led by the National President, Oki O. Samson during the association’s visit to the state-of-the-art Corporate Headquarters of the Ondo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun) in Akure, Ondo state for a firsthand assessment tour of the security situation in the state ahead of the 16th November governorship election.
 
During the interview, he disclosed how he has been able to manage the situation so much that no bank robbery was recorded in the past two (2) years, herders and farmers are living in tolerance, among other successes. On what he personally does as the Head of the very effective and highly praised AMOTEKUN Corps in Ondo State, Adetunji Adeleye said: 'It is 24 hours, physically I’m in the office for 18 hours everyday. I pick a senatorial district to go round the metropolis. If I’m going to the North today, I go from here to Oka, Isua and come back by 5 am. Tomorrow it could be South, third day it could be Central. That’s what I do, so there's no way you will get to the AMOTEKUN post that you will not meet them there because they will not know when I’ll come, and they know the implications. If I meet you sleeping you go to jail, that's why people are sleeping with their two eyes closed in Ondo state.'

NAOSNP: It takes a man with a lion heart to achieve this much, seeing the things that AMOTEKUN Corps has done, it shows the stuff you are made of. Paint for us how bad the problem was when you stepped in?
Akogun Adetunji Adeleye: I want to let you know that it has not been a tea party. When we started in 2020 the security situation of Ondo State was so terrible that for those who are familiar with the terrain, an average person cannot go to the bank and get home safely. If the money is not collected on the road, they will come to your house and collect it. You can not transact business by 7pm. People will come and harass you in the shop and collect your money. Kidnapping was already happening inside taxi, inside town, and no farmer was going to the farm again by early 2020 for fear of being robbed and kidnapped. Our highways had become home for armed robbers. When we came on board we saw ahead of the issue of food insecurity if the farmers and herders clashes were not addressed.
 
NAOSNP: What strategies did you deploy to avert the dangers and challenges that you just described?
Akogun Adetunji Adeleye: We commenced mass literacy to make farmers know their limitations as well as the herders to know their limitations. We reminded them that before an average Yoruba man will go to any Sabo to buy wara and leave freely but suddenly we started having issues of bandits, kidnappers and robbers. We met with the leadership of the herders and the farmers and told them an end had come. We did it consecutively for about 5 years. Farmers go to farms, herders rear your cattle don’t destroy farms.
When we commenced enforcement, it was a terrible battle but we had to make a statement. I remember my first operation, physically, we recovered and arrested about 350 cows and you know what it takes to take only one cow from an average Fulani, he will prefer to lose is child than to release a cow, so you can imagine what we’ve gone through. We subsequently arrested their cows in thousands, we made them to pay restitution for the farms damaged and we tell the farmers don’t take law into your hands, don’t fight them, just report, so we go there and meet them, fight it out with them, arrested them and bring them to book. When the crisis was getting too much, we approached the government and a law was put in place proclaimed anti open-grazing law, we are operating it and enforcing it.
Also, every December there must be bank robberies, so we came in to make a statement “end to bank robberies”. Within the first 2 years, we were able to bring it down, bank robbery was attempted once. I was there to lead the team, we confronted them and that was the last till date.
Also during festive periods, we were able to rescue hundreds of commuters that were either kidnapped or robbed between Osun and Ondo. We tagged it “Osun, Ondo border patrols for Ember”. We did the same for Ondo and Ore, but we recorded much more success between Ife and Akure. We rescued well over 500 people, recovered well over 200 cars, rescued goods, rescued kidnapped victims in their hundreds in 2022 and 2023 and today the story is better. We give it to the government for creating an enabling environment for us to work.
 
NAOSNP: What other challenges did you encounter on the job?
Akogun Adetunji Adeleye: At a point, with the turnout of suspected criminals that we arrested, the state judiciary could not cope, so we had to create a court named AMOTEKUN court, and the judiciary graciously gave us judges and magistrates such that you can have quick dispensation of justice. As we talk now we have secured hundreds of convictions and we have inmates in all the correctional centers in the state from Amotekun.
 
NAOSNP: Some say that the head of security agencies should come from their locality, majority of your officers are resident and citizen of Ondo state, what's your take on this?
Akogun Adetunji Adeleye: It is not only in Ondo state, what we try to do is localize it. Criminal activities are localized so it's best to design a homegrown solution to the problem. The problem in Okitipupa in ondo state is different from the problem in Owo and different from the problem in Akoko. For instance, today, the problem we have in Akoko is that if there is going to be any kidnapping they already know the way we operate, so they will not operate beyond 2-3 kilometers of the boundary so that they can quickly run out of Ondo State within minutes of kidnapping they are out and they know that Amotekun can not operate in Kogi, Amotekun can not operate in Kwara. The same thing happens in Ose local government, they go to the edge 2 minutes after they strike they are in Edo state and Amotekun cannot operate there, so they have that latitude.
That is why we now designed what we call Amotekun rangers. Amotekun rangers stays entirely in the forest, and since we did that imoruijagba area, this is an area where on daily basis for more than 2 years there are kidnapping, that was the end of it. They attempted once, 7 of them were arrested and they are in the correctional center.
 
NAOSNP: How has AMOTEKUN Corps been able to use technology in their success story?
Akogun Adetunji Adeleye: There is no way we could have done it without technology. We are talking about human beings with blood in their veins and you gave me stick to go into the forest and go and fight somebody with Ak 47 and I successfully arrested the person with Ak 47. So what do you think happen there, so AMOTEKUN is both conventional and unconventional security and it is devoid of bureaucracy.
Like we have a distress call line. This distress call line operates in the 18 local government areas of the state and we had been able to compress our response time from about 1 hour before to less than 5 minutes.
We have a rehabilitation center here, especially ladies that are raped, we bring them to our clinic we treat them we make them comfortable.
 
NAOSNP: When people see AMOTEKUN and their uniform, they say they can disappear, is that true? How have you managed excesses of officers?
Akogun Adetunji Adeleye: Let me emphasize that we are strategically placed in all the 18 local government areas, there is no place that you will tell us that there is crisis that AMOTEKUN will not be there. I have exposed my men to all sorts of operation in the last four years, nobody has been able to say they pay 1 kobo, nobody has been able to say AMOTEKUN takes 1 kobo from them. The consequences are grave, my operatives know it, so these are the things that make us have confidence in the people.
Our success story would not have been complete without the support of the people, they give us actionable information and this are the things that makes it easier for us, and I talk to you about localizing solutions, Amotekun recruit Owo local government, Owo local government indigene, Okiti pupa local government indigene, Akure local government, Akure local government indigene, at least 80% of them most come from that local government. We started with less than 200 and we shook the entire state. Now that we are in thousands, what do you expect but it is still not enough. You know security architecture is different from a normal public service job. While we are not complaining, we want more.
 
NAOSNP: What is your assessment of the successes of AMOTEKUN Corps in the Southwest?
Akogun Adetunji Adeleye: I think by and large, Amotekun in Ondo State has been able to justify the primary reason in the wisdom of the former governors who came together that they don’t want the Southwest to turn out to be what is happening in Sambisa. That was the reason why Amotekun came to be. And because there was no template I decided and formulated a working paper for Amotekun in the Southwest.
AMOTEKUN has been able to justify the reason for its establishment which is complementing the effort of all security agencies and doting the I’s and crossing the T’s where bureaucracy do not allow them to work. You see most of these agencies, it is not as if they also do not want to succeed but there are lot of bureaucracies in place that hinder them from doing those things, but because in Amotekun the hierarchy ends with the Governor of the state and that’s it and the law is in place to back it up, especially the present Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has given us enough room, latitude to work.
I am telling you from practical experience that until we go local we cannot solve the security problems in Nigeria. That is why I totally support the state policing idea. Look at the way it is working in Ondo State with AMOTEKUN.

To the glory of GOD, The Owase Community Professionals’ Forum (OCPF), a non-governmental organization, continues to be a beacon of hope and empowerment for the Owase community and environs of Oka Akoko in Ondo State. 

Founded on the belief that professionals within the community can contribute significantly to its socio-economic development, OCPF has been at the forefront of community-driven initiatives since inception in 2019.

With a strong focus on youth empowerment, infrastructure development, education, and health, OCPF remains committed to improving the quality of life of its community at Owase, in Oka Akoko, Ondo State. 

From inception, OCPF has successfully implemented numerous projects including the renovation of community Town Hall, infrastructure, provision of clean water, support for farmers, and scholarships for students. The forum’s long-standing objective is to create an enabling environment for the community to thrive, while fostering a spirit of collaboration and sustainable growth.

In 2024, the Forum took another giant step towards fulfilling its vision during its annual event which was held from August 2 to August 4, themed Light Up Owase. This year’s event was a blend of spiritual revival, infrastructure improvement, medical outreach and youth empowerment initiatives. 

The event began on Friday, August 2, 2024 with an evening crusade titled Light Up Owase at the community square. The crusade was a powerful gathering led by esteemed ministers of faith, including Pastor Adebayo, founder of Orioke Eri CAC; Pastor Osim Stephen of Living Faith Church, Oka-Akoko; Pastor Shola Ologun of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Lagos; Prophet Sunday Ajakaiye, founder of Back to Sender Ministry; and Pastor (Dr.) Bernard Omoyeni of the Living Faith Church, Lagos, also the National Coordinator of OCPF. Prayers were offered for Spiritual awakening of the community, prosperity of community and youth emancipation. This spiritual awakening underscored the importance of faith in the community’s development journey. 

Day 2 event was heralded by commissioning Solar Lights project executed by the OCPF to Illuminate the Community Solar powered lights were installed at key locations across the community. According to Prof. Francis 'Deji Gbore, Vice-Chancellor of Sam Maris University, Supare-Akoko, also the OCPF Home Front Coordinator, the initiative to install the solar power lights, was in continuation of OCPF’s long-term infrastructure development plan, aimed at improving security and nocturnal socio -economic activities of the community. The solar lights symbolize a brighter future, both literally and figuratively, as OCPF continues to provide lasting solutions to the community’s challenges. 

OCPF’s commitment to the community extends beyond physical infrastructure. During the 2024 event, a free medical outreach was organized for residents, providing free consultations and medication for members of the community. This initiative reflects OCPF’s dedication to addressing both the social and health-related needs of the people.

The programme was concluded on Sunday, August 4, at the Owase Community Town Hall with a seminar on youth empowerment and social orientation. 

Pastor Shola Ologun, Chairman of the OCPF Planning Committee, gave the opening address, reiterating the forum’s objectives and the importance of youth empowerment. He highlighted OCPF’s vision as established to uplift the community by equipping its youths with the skills and opportunities necessary for meaningful contributions to both the community and the nation. 

The National Coordinator, Pastor (Dr.) Bernard Omoyeni,in his opening remark expressed great joy at the opportunity created by the Forum for socio -economic development of the community and its people, more so that the vision of OCPF is being realized as evidenced in the landmark projects that have been executed by the NGO within its internally generated resources. He noted the key OCPF milestone achievements, including: Repair of community boreholes, providing access to clean water, Renovation of the community Town Hall, Distribution of agricultural inputs to local farmers, such as herbicides

Organizing seminars and training sessions to enhance youth employability and farmer productivity, Continued scholarship support to deserving secondary school students, Career guidance programs for youths, helping them identify opportunities for success, Solar powered street lights 

In his leadership welcome remark, the OCPF Board of Trustee Chairman, Mr Dare Owolabi, MD/CEO Jomabot Hotel expressed delight concerning the impact of OCPF on the community within its short period of operation. He praised the commitment of the OCPF members to the vision of the NGO, demonstrated through the sacrifice of finances and time invested. He, therefore, urged members of the community particularly the youths to maximize the opportunity provided by the Forum.

High Chief W. A. Ajakaiye, the Olowase of Owase, praised OCPF’s commitment in his goodwill message. He acknowledged the forum's contributions in addressing the needs of the community, from infrastructure to youth education, and expressed his gratitude for OCPF’s efforts in fostering progress in Owase. 

Sir Sunday Ajobiewe who delivered the lecture on the Influence of Social Media Utilization on Academic Performance of Students, discussed the dual impact of social media on education, emphasizing its potential as a learning tool while cautioning against distractions that could harm academic success. His message encouraged students to harness the power of social media for personal growth and educational advancement. 

As part of OCPF’s education-focused initiatives, the forum awarded scholarships to ten outstanding secondary school students for the 2024/2025 academic year. The selected students, recognized for their academic achievements and determination, include: Ogedengbe Mary, Oki Eniola, Asooto Adewale, Akerele Busayo, Adeleye Funmilayo, Alu Ruth, Awoyemi Bright, Arewa Sayo, Opale Opeyemi, and Olaitan Olamide, who have joined the outstanding list of OCPF's scholarship recipients 

The scholarship is a testament to the OCPF’s belief in the power of education to transform lives. By alleviating financial burdens and motivating academic excellence, OCPF is helping to secure a brighter future for Owase’s youth. 

Since establishment, OCPF has grown into a respected institution within Owase, driven by its mission to serve the community through strategic, well-targeted initiatives. Over the years, the Forum has played an instrumental role in the development of the community by leveraging the expertise, networks, and resources of its members. 

From restoring essential infrastructure to fostering a culture of self-reliance and continuous learning among the youth, OCPF is building a legacy of service. The forum’s impact on Owase’s socio-economic landscape is evident in the lives touched and the projects completed.

Each one must acquire revelational knowledge on why we praise, how to praise and what to expect when we praise.

1. Praise turns situations from 'nothing working' to 'everything working'.
Praise has capacity to reclassify man's experience.

With the key of Praise, one can alter situations and circumstances.

2. Praise suspends the laws of nature to deliver GOD'S plans and purpose for man.
Human protocols and principles are broken and altered.
It can be a law by nature, but it can be altered by the key of Praise.

[19] And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb: [20] he staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; [21] and being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

3. Praise our way out of every siege of barreness and unfruitfulness.

Identifying The Turnaround Power Available In Praise.

1. When our praise goes up, prison doors give way

Praise your way out of your prison.
Praise is the key to escaping the captivity of life.

2. When praise goes up, GOD takes over our battle, and victory becomes automatic

[3] When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at thy presence.

Mountains dissolve as GOD comes down

[7] And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. [8] And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.
[10] When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.

Sing GOD into your situation. Praise is the way to invoke GOD'S presence.

When praise goes up, the glory of GOD comes down to terminate all issues of shame and reproach around us.

Praise is our way out of every captivity of the wicked into liberty.

The Honourable Minister of State for Police Affairs, Hajia Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim has received accolades from security agencies across board as well as stakeholders in the Nigerian security business, acknowledging her undisputed legacy of thorough policing, initiatives and landmark achievements in the little over one year as an appointee of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
 


The Stakeholders unanimously agreed that Hajia Sulaiman-Ibrahim, in the discharge of her constitutional duties, has exceeded expectations of the observers, analysts, employees and employers as she continually dishes out one great innovation after another.

In his speech as of special guest speaker at the Conference, with the theme, CONNECTING THE DOT BETWEEN IDENTITY TRACKING AND NATIONAL SECURITY, AIG Adegoke Fayoade lauded the Minister as one deserving of accolades, having steadfastly adjusted the Nigerian Police in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, ensuring that the Police receive the right equipment, training and remote as well as immediate paraphernalia to execute the job of policing. He noted that the Nigerian Police of today has implemented several identity tracking systems to enhance national security.
 

“Nigeria has implemented several identity tracking systems to enhance national security, improve governance, and reduce fraud over the years. These initiatives focus on creating a robust identity management framework that integrates multiple sectors, ranging from finance to telecommunications, immigration, and law enforcement,” the AIG noted.

 
Also speaking, Chief Dele Momodu appreciated the fact that a woman of Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim’s capacity was on hand to present his award to him, stressing that he couldn’t have asked for a greater honour.
 

In the same vein, other speakers and respondents, including a former Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area, Comrade Ayodele Adewale, found spaces in their lines, to laud the intelligence of the Honourable Minister, citing that President Tinubu needs her likes to bring to fruition the promised Eldorado to Nigerians.


 
Speaking earlier as the Distinguished Guest Speaker, Hajia Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, had highlighted the grace she brought to Police Affairs Ministry, which has seen to both the initiation and execution manifold projects, and their attendant testimonies, including identity tracking for national security.

 
“As someone deeply invested in the safety and security of our nation, I have spent considerable time reflecting on how best to address Nigeria’s complex security challenges. The more I engage with experts, our police force, and other stakeholders, the clearer it becomes that identity tracking is one of the most powerful tools at our disposal. It is not just about knowing who is in our country; it is about building a system where every identity is securely accounted for, and reducing opportunities for crime,” she said.


 
Appointed in August 2023 as the Minister of State for Police Affairs, Hajia Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, a distinguished international professional with over two decades of expertise spanning the public, private, and development sectors, has a wealth of experience in conflict management, human capital development, peace building, and national security. She has no doubt established herself as an administrator par excellence.

 
Well read and well learned, Sulaiman-Ibrahim obtained is a B.Sc in Sociology holder from the University of Abuja. She is reputed have earned two Master’s degrees; an MBA and an MA in Management – both from Webster University, St. Louis (London Campus) at the yiung age of 21.



Reflecting her dedication to continuous professional growth and barefaced love for education, the honorable minister is currently pursuing a Doctorate degree in Security and Strategic Studies at the Nigeria Defence Academy.
 

In addition to her academic achievements, she co-founded and serves as the President of the BumbleeBee Civic Initiative (formerly The Beehive Initiative), a platform dedicated to mentoring politically inclined women and promoting grassroots civic awareness.
 
 
Her public service record is equally impressive and worthy of emulation. As Special Assistant on Strategic Communication and Partnerships to the Minister of State for Education (August 2019 to December 2020), she led the development of the innovative Alternate School Programme, securing Federal Executive Council (FEC) approval for its implementation. She later served as Director-General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), where she significantly improved national efforts to combat human trafficking and address irregular migration.
 

She has also served as Federal Commissioner and CEO of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI). In this role, she launched the “Project 5s” initiative, a comprehensive program aimed at addressing the pressing challenges faced by vulnerable populations in Nigeria.
 

As a politician, strategist, and award-winning leader, Imaan has garnered recognition for her work in national security, conflict resolution, and human capital development. On July 27, 2023, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed her as the Minister of State for Police Affairs, making her the first female to hold this position.
 

Her glorious stewardship so far is summed in the below lines, which she self-delivered;
“Over the past year, we have made strategic investments in surveillance technologies, drones, and communication systems to boost real-time information gathering and response capabilities. We have also introduced ICT applications such as the RescueMe App and e-CMR (electronic Central Motor Registry) to enhance our epolicing strategy. These platforms have improved efficiency and productivity across our operations.
“Our efforts extend beyond technology; we are committed to community engagement as a fundamental aspect of our security strategy. We have held numerous townhall meetings nationwide to foster grassroots understanding of security dynamics and develop community-specific solutions. We have also strengthened our partnership with the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), resulting in better intelligence sharing and collaboration.
“In addition, we are developing a National Policing Policy to enhance the operational capabilities of the NPF and ensure more responsive and responsible policing. We have also launched the NPF Gender Policy to improve the gender balance within the force, and I am proud to announce that our advocacy has led to the inclusion of a female officer in the force’s leadership team.”

Knowing and not doing it is classified as foolishness.

But the power in each Kingdom weapon can only be actualized by understanding.

Our understanding determines the degree of HIS power we are able to manifest.
The weapons you don't use, its power you will not see.

[25] But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

It is in doing that you will start seeing.
There is a demand for us to put the weapon of praise and thanksgiving to work.
Understanding is not enough, start practicing.

One of the most potent Kingdom weapon is Thanksgiving and praise.

Thanksgiving and praise is not just for celebratory purposes, but a weapon to actualize victory over the battles of life.

Thanksgiving is acknowledging GOD'S Blessings in our lives to preserve them

Thanksgiving is celebrating the integrity of GOD'S Word so HE can perform them in our lives.

Thanksgiving is the trigger for perfection

Thankful for what seemed like an imperfect blessing, and GOD gave him a perfect blessing.

GOD never gives HIS best first.

Thanksgiving is one of the most simple, yet potent spiritual virtues in this Kingdom.
As simple as it is, it has the capacity to deliver every victory that GOD can deliver.

[3] But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

The devil attempts to downplay the simplicity of scriptural commands so as to keep believers grounded.

[14] But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

In the foolishness of scriptural instructions manifests the strength of our GOD.

[11] (The LORD God of your fathers make you a thousand times so many more as ye are, and bless you, as he hath promised you!)

‭Hebrews 6:13-14 KJV‬
[13] For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, [14] saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

We serve a multiplier GOD.

‭Genesis 22:17 KJV‬
[17] that in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;

GOD is the multiplier of blessings, thanksgiving is a covenant trigger for supernatural multiplication.

[19] And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.

Everytime thanksgiving proceeds from man, multiplication is released from GOD.

Every time man is faced with insufficiency, and introduces thanksgiving, it becomes more than enough.

Genuine thanksgiving positions man for more than enough.
Ungrateful people deny themselves of GOD'S Blessings.

Every time appreciation goes from man to GOD, multiplication comes from GOD to man.

Thank GOD for that blessing that seems to be not enough.

There is enormous power in thanksgiving. This power can turn any situation around, can raise the dead, silence any opposition.

[20] And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. [21] And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever. [22] And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten. [23] For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another. But until it is engaged, the power embedded in it cannot be manifested.
We must give it (thanks-giving) to engage the power in it.
To render it is to give it consciously.
Thanksgiving is the acknowledging of GOD'S blessings in our lives.

Engaging The Power of Thanksgiving For Preservation of Blessings

Whatever GOD does is ordained to be forever

‭Ecclesiastes 3:14 KJV‬
[14] I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.

‭Numbers 23:20 KJV‬
[20] Behold, I have received commandment to bless: And he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it.

‭Romans 11:29 KJV‬
[29] For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

But Thanksgiving is required for preservation of our blessings.

The only thing that can stop or reverse any blessing in any man's life is the man and ingratitude.

Why are some blessings being reversed?

Malachi 2:1-3 KJV‬
[1] And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you. [2] If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart. [3] Behold, I will corrupt your seed, and spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your solemn feasts; and one shall take you away with it.

To preserve means to prevent from corruption.
Lack of gratitude reverses blessings.

Continue to give thanks to retain your blessings

‭Psalm 28:5 KJV‬
[5] Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, He shall destroy them, and not build them up.

If your blessings are preserved, you are responsible. If your blessings are reversed, you are equally responsible.

Those who are grateful, GOD sees reasons to keep them alive, and fulfil HIS purpose in their lives.

Complaining complicates matter. Anything we thank HIM for, we are set to keep it.
