Ebeneze Obey sang about people like you. No matter what anyone does, you likes are never satisfied. Tufia. You don't change the narrative this way, this is not different from what the bandits or terrorists are doing, next they will start beating up people who don't have PVC, is that how you change the narrative? |

AdaojoTheUrchin: Crying more than the bereaved, go and get your PVC or gettat.
We can't keep shouting 'oh our leaders are bad' when buffoons like you sit down and do not nothing, while the worst of them manipulate the system to perpetuate themselves in power, leaving the common Nigerian hapless and vulnerable to poverty and terroristic economic policies. Drastic situations need drastic measures. And this is the time for all evil rulers choking this country to death to come out and dance surugede, while we watch their waists break.
Your PVC or you are a waste of useful space. Period that is how ipob, bandits, bokoharam etc started. They all said they were fighting for the common Nigerian |

plaindealer: This is lawless, it's unconstitutional, it's crude and crass. You can not take away people's rights to freedom of movement because of election, not even for any reason.
This is how Igbo people allowed and supported barbaric and anti social rubbish that turned into deadly sit at home in the SE. They allowed their constitutional rights to freedom of movement to be taken away with sit at home, now they cannot go to the market because of some lawless thugs.
What they must stop and condemn is always what they love and support until they get consumed by it, then they'll start blaming other people.
This is why they say the people in that region are not socially and culturally developed enough to be members of any sane and lawful society, they are just too barbaric and backward. I hope the Lagos State Government after the elections will sort out all this nonsense all in the name of civic rights, The average Nigerian is an oppressor, endsars all in the name of protests disrupt people from going about their lawful daily business, If the Yoruba Nation has not be curbed to a large extent, the entire SW would have been under siege now all in the name of freedom. You cannot be abusing politicians for the pains they give you and you give the same pain to your fellow country men. Nigerians are just hypocrites, our politicians are just a reflection of who we really are |

Raheeqilmaktoom: Omo, is this woman on NL? Everything she said here I said it about a month or 2 ago.
Buhari wanted Osinbajo, it was very obvious , but Tinubu's tenacity and strongman attitude made Buhari to hold his hands (as against what some people were made to believe that Buhari wanted Lawan and that he and Lawan with the party Chairman were outsmarted, if Buhari chose to have his way, a 1000 Tinubu can't do nada, but as a gentleman, he withdrew to let peace reign).
After Tinubu got the ticket, he realized he just won the battle but will probably lose the war, hence, all the shenegians tying to woo Buhari and flatter his ego. It's obvious Buhari has given up on the APC, his body is there but his soul has left a long time ago.
People call Buhari many names, but docile, ignorant and stupid isn't one of em, either you don't follow the man or you let emotions overtake your reasoning.
Besides, who's noticed Gbajabiamila's strongman behavior behind Tinubu? The start of a cabal?
Anyways, it's going down soon. May God direct the affairs of this country.
ItsTutsi, I would ring your mentions like kilode. The same buhari that could not allow Osinbajo to be acting president anytime he travels out of Nigeria, you guys are not serious |

Ovamboland: This seaport was facilitated by Tinubu when he was lagos state governor, and now it's getting completed. Too bad you have mostly useless state governors in all those states you listed, they were in PDP as ruling party for 16 years and had no idea what to do with that access. See what Lagos is doing after aligning with the center in just 8 years . In 2015, people called Tinubu all sorts for aligning with the centre, in 8 years, we have the Lagos-Ibadan rail and this port of which the other regions lampooning Tinubu are now crying for in their own regions. Politics is interest-based and not emotions. Am even pained that infrastructures like the National Stadium, National Theatre, and the former Ikoyi Fed secretariat have not been handed over to Lagos. Bad belle folks from other regions have been blocking this from happening. Most Nigerians don't understand development, na to abuse online dem sabi, shior. |

JOemmy: Ports operations should be decentralized I don't understands why other ports in SS and SE are not operating optimally as it should be everything should not be concentrated in lagos alone that city is just too congested see how trucks with containers keep falling on vehicles daily and killing innocent lagosians. The Lagos state govt facilitated this and not the FG, if the SS and SE are waiting for the FG to decentralize port operations, they will wait forever, or do you expect the Lagos state govt to be funding port operations in the SS? |
Politics › Re: Ownership Structure Of The Lekki Deep Sea Port by Goke7: 3:57pm On Jan 23, 2023 |
I cringed at the comments I saw here, especially those complaining that the Federal Govt is only getting 5%. I thought we said we want the country to be restructured.
Lagos has finally delivered the blueprint of what restructuring will look like with the FG getting 5% and Lagos 20%, it only shows how other states especially the niger delta states should be thinking. Instead of the entire money going to the Federal, let more money remain in the state where it is being generated.
To my brothers in the SE, if you really desire restructuring (which I doubt with the kind of comments I see here), you should be applauding Lagos and urging your states to come up with similar kinds of projects that will raise more IGR and create more jobs where the money is being generated. It's that simple |

businessnow: Dear House Bosses and Elders:
Please give me your thoughts and suggestions on this.
In Nigeria, I own an ICT company that has been in operation for 15 years.
In 2010, my company formed a partnership with a UK-based ICT firm, and we served as their Nigerian representative until early 2022, when the contract was terminated (the UK company moved into oil and gas).
We completed transactions totaling more than 600,000 GBP over the course of our 12-year partnership; all transactions, including international bank transfers, are documented.
This UK company arranged my first UK trip in 2013 for business meetings and training, and I have visited the UK more than 12 times since then for business meetings, training, and vacations.
Prior to moving to the UK with my family last year on a Tier 4 student visa, my wife the ( student), I was on my second two-year visit visa.
My company formed a new partnership with another UK-based ICT firm late last year.
Here's my question: is there any other type of visa I can or am qualified for besides the PSW (through wife Tier 4) and Tier 2 visas?
Please amiable senior nairalander, I need your input on this.

Please share some insight. Thanks so that's the issue with the UK job market, It's always about experience and what you can do or have done. So try and search for learning platforms that can give you hands-on experience, though some may charge you. That's how you can navigate the experience ish and those platforms also can provide you with work references. |

Looking forward in terms of future career opportunities, Cardiff-Bristol corridor is awashed with opportunities |

And I'm not igbo. I hold same view as many Yoruba nationalist. There's absolutley nothing wrong if an Igbo man becomes president. Ayowolebami: Yea I wasn't going to start applying until I'm about to round up my dissertation make "Unfortunately" emails no come demoralize me but I just wanted to find out more about the contract way with daily rates. Would prefer that over full time roles for now but I'd like to hear from people who have done both before I make I decision. Thanks so much. when you're ready just get your CV ready with all the credentials you have and start applying, na recruiters go dey rush you. But I always advise people to start with full-time and perm roles as they will train you on the job to boost your confidence which will help you a lot when you start contract jobs. The expectations of those contract jobs are way higher but for perm roles, employers are patient enough for some months for you to get settled in. That's how my friend started with a perm role and just even after two months, he started contracting. Like I said earlier, calm down. But I can get some more info and share it later. |

Ayowolebami: Please can I be too forward and shoot you a mail? I also have experience from naija and have CAMS certification. I don't know if you can help me speak to your friend. I just need guidance from someone who's been on that contract journey.
I am looking at going the contract way rather than full time and would appreciate pointers from someone who's been there and done it. I'm still studying though but I wanna start planning for the reality of life after studies and I sincerely don't wanna shortchange myself if I can explore and get something better.
Please epp my life biko, I promise I am not troublesome Calm down, you're already good to go. Finish your studies well but if it's just a few months you have left you can start applying for jobs right away. Look at jobs description carefully and make sure your CV covers the basic requirements and experience for the jobs. Since you're still studying you are still limited by the 20hrs per week rule so getting a full-time role whether contract or perm may be tricky but you can try as there are contract roles that may allow you to work part-time which will be great for your experience going forward. |

Thanks Nice one, you can dovetail with a Business Analysis certification BCS BA Foundations and start building a career in Business Analysis or a data analysis course to deepen your knowledge as a Data Analyst which is always a winner in the job market. Develop skills and master Data analytics softwares like Power BI, Tableau or Alteryx. Salesforce CRM is another option. If you can master Data analysis or salesforce CRM, you are good to go. |

If Africa development was in sync with the west, they would all be dashing to Africa...... But corruption no gree, bad leadership, racism, tribal sentiments, bigotry, nepotism, favouritism...... The fact that some of us come with even our so called yeye degrees from Africa and they equate it to theirs means we've got some stuff too. kwakudtraveller: Chairman, based on your experience, what finance roles make the most money here in the UK? It's not really about the money which In my opinion should not be first consideration as a new immigrant. You need to have the required skills, experience and credentials especially UK recognised qualifications to stand out. I know in recent times, KYC and AML (anti money laundering) related roles are becoming more in demand. Audit especially Technical Audit (a combo of audit and analytics) is becoming more popular. In all, the issues of climate change which is now known as ESG reporting which is a requirement by govt for most companies now has heightened the need for financial reporting with ESG ( Environmental and social governance) expertise. I think with these, one will have an advantage in getting high end roles or jobs. The question however is if one meets the requirements. I don't work in any of these areas so my knowledge may be limited. Am a Business Analyst within program and change management. I only have some knowledge of ESG as I have taken some courses in it. |
