Moneywomen17: they are already claiming Ogun states and saying they own 40% of the industry’s I think this dude is a little behind. He is still in the first step denial. Igbo will first deny the industry and when the truth is too much the switch and say they own 10% percent of it then 20% till 40 or 45% that’s the magic number. Then they will ask u apart from Lagos and Ogun which we ignore own 45% of which other western states is develop. Then we say oyo and then we rinse and repeat. Shameless folks. you don't mean it |

candidtalk: This is because an Igbo man is fundamentally different to a Yoruba man. Igbos are brash, loud, showy and garish while the Yorubas are modest, understated and self-deprecating.
An Igbo will be the most colorfully and garishly dressed man in any room and we all know this. He will be loudest in the room as well, talking immodestly over others, with a huge brick-size bling bling key ring as if he alone owns a nice car. If an Igbo cannot see, feel or hear it then it is not an achievement.
Wear a plain back shirt and plain trousers then you are certainly not rich to the Igbo man never mind that you are wearing understated but very elegant and finely made clothing that cost a fortune. If it does not have Gucci or Dior emblem print all over it, with a healthy splash of gold bling, then it must be cheap clothing according to Igbos.
How then can the Igbo see let alone defer to the achievements of the Yorubas who tend to go about doing great and exemplary things in silence? The Igbos man's thinking, since he is a braggart, is that the Yorubas cannot match them as we are not up and down bragging about this and that as they do. That is why the silly Tobrasky made that empty and ignorant dare to LegendHero and got 'owned'.
The Igbos feel they have nothing to learn from others and this is why they are being educated and taken to school here by the usually gracious Yorubas who have now been pushed to the wall.
One day, when I have time, I will show Igbos here the huge ownership and control Yorubas have, especially in Lagos, over the most valuable land and real estate interests across the SW while Igbos delude themselves they are in charge because some Yorubas sell to them. That too will be a huge shock to SE empty barrel 'developers'. we all know Lagos narratives are all lies, you have said it all, when they have stuff they make so noise about it as if others have none |

Tobrasky: You've just succinctly detailed what I've been trying to say along, the fundamental thing is besides the sample size theory (which is understandable from a prism of simple statistics), especially in the context of how broad the information is to arrive at any conclusion, considering how many US colleges exist alone...we should look to open a separate thread for this debate and end it there once and for all! If you even have any friend from your college or any school based in the USA, ask him/her to join the discussion as well (I'll do the same). If we get the opinions from other US BASED Nigerians/Africans etc who can also join the conversation, then it's fair to say on the basis on popular opinions, facts culled from all the top schools domiciled in various regions of the US...then we will know who is hyping his own version of facts or not.
And I already stated that I'll post the websites for California, Texas, and Michigan when I done with my chores, I have the whole day dedicated just for this already. guy since yesterday you have been saying you have the whole day, post the thing nah? secondly, no matter the opinions you want to get from us based africans, hope you know there are still sites and links to verify or has word of mouth become another tool for nominal stats? you are not midst of the usual yourba folks that you can manipulate, we go find you out bro |

LegendHero: The reason for all this misinformation in the first place is that the Yorubas don’t operate within the same tempo as them. For example if there is a Yoruba that made a name in a certain sector, we don’t tend to bother much because it’s an everyday thing. So I should start celebrating someone for making a GP of 4.0 and rush on Nairaland when I’ve seen countless Yorubas here making that same GP in best schools across here personally.
So by not having the attitude of blowing the trumpet every time, the people that can blow the trumpet more will start thinking they dominate. It’s just a natural law. If you can say the same thing a thousand time, sooner of later it will become the truth. you are very right on this. the igbos celebrate anytime one of their own achieves a feat which is not bad in any way but to think only them blazes the trail is where they always make errors, until recently i never knew a yoruba man is the head of ICAO, international council on aviation, if nah igbo man, we no go hear word for nairaland o. |

LegendHero: Now it’s now a statement of Georgia?
C’mon I’ve done three states already. Georgia, North Carolina, and Maryland. (Yoruba tops everything here. I used 7 different convocation lists for different years in all these university)
I will check the list of schools you named up here and try to compile all the list by tonight to end the argument once and for all.
Question to you: If we can check all these schools (Those with grad list record online) and the Yorubas dominate them, will you accept the argument that Yorubas top the number of Nigeria ethnicities in USA universities?
Yes or No? No matter the stats you bring, they will never accept. If not that these universities have sites and links that can be verified, they would have manufactured a lot of nominal stats for us by now but alas, they can easily be busted. It's a know fact that the Yorubas still drive education for Nigeria both home and abroad. The igbos were just being deceived few years back that they were catching up and had overtaken us but they continued to be dazed and amazed that the yorubas still leads in education and will remain so for a longer time |

I was just watching the thread like agbado inu igo to ti dawomoju fa diye (Corn inside bottle that a hen can’t touch) and I wasn’t able to comment. Totit got it when he spoke about that.
Now I think there is an issue with anti-bot too, meaning I’m being dealed with in two different ways.
So far I’ve done the following convocation list: 1. Georgia State University ( Spring 2018, Fall 2018, Spring 2019, Fall 2019)
2. Georgia Institute of Technology ( Spring 2019)
3. University of Maryland (Spring 2018)
4. University of North Carolina at Greensboro ( Summer 2018)
That’s 7 different sources of data (More will come in the future if I have time or maybe another person can help and we will keep updating the post to reflect the changes. Tired for now)
The Yorubas beat the Igbos blue and black in all these aforementioned institutions. I will upload the stats as soon as I find a way to evade this anti-bot. Igbo should be contesting with Benin/SS rather and not Yorubas.
If we research the whole universities in USA, the trend will still be the same coz that’s the self-evident truth.
I am surprised someone here can say the Igbos are much in Universities in USA. Not only are Yoruba much in the universities, we (Yorubas) constitute the highest number of Nigerians working in corporate America and I also challenge any Igbo on here to dispute that fact.
NB: We have again busted the statement that Igbos are more in USA universities. This is a false statement and henceforth should not be uttered by anybody!!!
@Tobrasky, I know you would have been convinced that your initial statement is false based on the universities you’ve reviewed. Isn’t it time to let go?
Cc: candidtalk covidodo forgiveness cosbyrich obamofusa totit Anambralstson nowenuse Before the whole exercise began, some of us already knew where it was headed and even Tobrasky who brought the challenge initially conceeded when himself started seeing the data trend but in their usual manner they will never succumb totally and its understandable given their nature. Nowenuse: You have failed the question and left the basis of comparison.
We are not comparing Oyo state & Jos! We are comparing Ibadan & Jos (cities). Did u see me list Plateau state varsity Bokkos as one of the institutions in Jos? Hell no, cos Bokkos town is not Jos. So, give me only those in Ibadan or Sshhh!
Jos has an amusement park, Zoo & Museum, but I did not list them, cos those things are found everywhere else in Nigeria. I emphasized on exclusivity. What does Ibadan have that is not found elsewhere in Nigeria or West Africa?
Jos has the biggest indoor market in West Africa. Jos has the only Intra-city wildlife park in West Africa.
I striked out all these research institutions in Ibadan because they are not ACADEMIC DEGREE AWARDING INSTITUTIONS!
I went through their websites and they do not offer admissions. They are purely research oriented!
I only included National Vertinary Institute Vom to my list simply because it has the FEDERAL COLLEGE OF VERTINARY AND MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY inside it and they are an academic degree awarding institution
https://fcvmlt.edu.ng/
So, Ibadan has 10 Tertiary academic degree awarding institutions, while Jos has 11
I am also yet to see the exclusive entities Ibadan has on Nigeria/West Africa.
@Iamgrey5, abeg I have already listed many production & mining companies in Jos and I am tired to do that again.
Besides, I am only interested in Yale-Sumal foods & Sweetco foods cos these are the only Indigenous Ibadan production companies, since they have their headquarters in Ibadan. All those 1 plant-1 warehouse branch companies u are listing for Ibadan are just not it.
Cc Covidodo, Ayekotoo, Legendhero You are so mischievous, did you not see the other post where there are close to 20 academic institutions alone in Ibadan. I'm on Summer of 2019, too much databases guy for me there is no winner here, what do we even achieve in all this in the first place, we all pushed ourselves this far all because we refuse to acknowledge our strengths and weaknesses here and there which is all part of who we are irrespective of wherever we came from, the indians that you mentioned earlier that are in very good numbers there, do you how how many ethnic groups are in India? over 600 so if they want to be dissecting them one after the other, does it worth it and really matter, see if igbos top the list, I defer and if yourbas top, others should defer too. At the end of the day what we all want is mutual respect for one another. This idea of calling others cowards, dummies and all unprintable names to score points is not just worth it. Tobrasky: You can never beat the East when it comes to commerce, property ownerships, civil service, education in any part of the South South and North
Even in the diaspora it's the same story
Other Nigerians especially Northerners are heavily present in the East, they buy lands here and develop them into small communities... Enugu is fast becoming a cosmopolitan state as a result of influxes of many foreign and local investors.
Your people are the myopic and starkly ignorant ones who NEVER travel out to see and explore the other sides of reality besides the nonsense they read online about the East, na only UK una dey run go. There's no point arguing with a man who's mind and perceptions are precluded on ignorance and lack of exposure, that's why the Igbos will always top you in all indices all over Nigeria except in your region. the problem with you guys is that you never agree that anyone is before you. Someone here has put it rightly about you guys nature which is 'I Go First'. learn to let go and give credit to where its due, it does not reduce you but confirms your true identity. Igbos number one problem is Identity-wanting to be what they are not. Even if we come up with evidence to show that northerners do more trade in lagos than you guys [which is true], you will still not agree. wowcatty: The Op is using threads like this to console himself because he knows his region has no wealth and at the mercy of two regions and will never be great like Yorubaland. It must be really hard on him to know that Yorubaland makes and breaks him and all his aspirations and the day Yoruba say enough is the day he dies!
Finally, the only reason we will continue to see this type of topics is that Yoruba are not protecting their land as it should.
Yorubaland built all the regions of Nigeria except the SS which is also a viable region, the remaining 4 regions are a drag always in need of assistance from the Yorubaland and the Niger delta. These 4 region would have been like states in Somalia if we still have regional govts where they have no access to all the money in Yorubaland.
Keep saying what you want right now, when Yoruba get it right, you will be the first to know! our too liberal politicians and elites are the problem, am sorry to say this perhaps allowing dangote to build his refinery in Lagos may even hurt us more in future, even though some of our yoruba elites have strong stakes in it. We need to redefine our agenda as a yoruba nation, igbos hardly give their lands to strangers reason you cannot find so many huge investments from outsiders there. As we keep on attracting these investments, we need to on the other hand redefine the rules of engagement. Yes we are doing a lot for ourselves but this too much liberality is making them think we are fools and exposing us to unnecessary threats from enemies within. The multinational and foreign investments makes more sense than all these land grabbers who call themselves investors and still want to rule over us. We need to rethink. |

Nowenuse: Ibadan more cosmopolitan than Jos/Kaduna is a lie from the pit of hell. Even during the regional govt days, Ibadan would not beat Jos/Kaduna in terms of cosmopolitanism.
In Jos & Kaduna, before crisis divided the cities along religious lines you have Igbo dominated areas, Hausa dominated areas, Indigenous dominated areas even Igala/Idomas areas & Urhobo areas and everyone lived in peace.
The Northern region was more cosmopolitan than the Western region and Kaduna was the capital of the old Northern region, so tell me how Ibadan could beat that?
Jos started attracting settlers from all over Nigeria from 1900 when the British needed more and more Tin mining workers. Yorubas came, Igbos came, Hausa fulanis came and Bendelites came. Read this link about the Ogbomosho people in Jos by a Yoruba man and see that they arrived in Jos more than 100 years ago.
https://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2012/11/19/the-ogbomoso-people-in-jos/amp/
Urhobo community in Jos is so powerful that u can imagine that the only 2 Urhobo people and Nigerdeltan minorities who have won the Big brother Africa challenge were both born & bred in Jos! Karen Igho's dowry was even paid in Jos. I wonder if that woman and her family even know the road to their village in Delta state
Do u know how many Lebanese, Ethiopians, Indians & Whites call Jos their homecity?
D'banj's pretty wife is of SouthAfrican/American heritage but the only city she has ever known or call her hometown is Jos and she is a cousin to this MTVbase co-host below Samantha Walsh. Their entire extended family claim Jos as their hometown.
https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn%3AANd9GcSS9Ff38BLAqccVowB-66lKsEqcG4912jVDu_jC9BGRko-1wJXw&usqp=CAU
Ibadan will never beat Jos in cosmopolitanism in this life nor in the life to come. The weather and exotic fruits & vegetables in Jos alone is enough to make Jos 50% foreigners by population (all we need to do is promote it).
And 2ndly, what do you mean some part of SW formed Abuja? . Are you talking about Abaji LGA that was part of old West-Central (Kwara state)?
You see, due to the COWARDICE of you Yorubas, you have never gotten the balls to claim Kwara state and only God knows if u will ever get them.
Neither Kwara or old West-Central state was ever part of the SW.
Infact, West central state at the time of creation was not even dominantly Yoruba, and I have had this debate here with a Yoruba guy and thrashed him till he ran away. West central state was middlebelt dominated and Yorubas were a minority in that state. That state was made up of the whole Kwara & Kogi combined + Abaji (FCT) and Borgu (Niger state) combined.
Even when Igalas, Borgus & Abajis left the state and it became Kwara and Yoruba dominated, minorities were still dominating the Yorubas there! E.g the Ebiras who produced the first elected governor of the new state.
Kwara/Kogi Yorubas have always been bitches to the Caliphate & Kwararafan descendants and only God knows when that will end
Cc Covidodo, Legendhero, Iamgrey5 you still dey this matter? a city with the first university, first university teaching hospital, first tv station and so many other firsts. A city with the highest number of research institutes, Honestly history that was removed from our curriculum has done so much damage. brown roof pictures on nairaland has done great damage. Jos is a microcosm of Ibadan, so many non yoruba elites settled there and even died there. In the hey days of UCH, people traveled all over the word to visit the hospital for treatment and a popular american artiste i cannot remember was born in uch. if na number of whites be your problem, there are lots of lebanese, indians, dutch and many other foreigners living in Ibadan because of the huge agriculture investments in Oyo state from where a lot of raw materials are gotten for industries in Lagos and other places. The great University of Ibadan is another major factor for the cosmopolitan nature over the years. Ibadan is underrated because states govts like Oyo are too laid back in projecting the state. ajimobi tried but Oyo state has not been too lucky like Lagos and Ogun in having very dynamic leaders. The last they had was Bola Ige. argue with your keyboard but after Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan and ph should be dragging third in terms of being cosmopolitan just that the yorubas in Ibadan are just a different breed from the ones in Lagos who can use their mouth to abuse any body father cos they no get respect for crazy dudes and won't take rubbish like the Lagos people take from settlers |
