Politics › Re: 2019: PDP Zones President To North, VP Goes To South East by Goke7: 12:01pm On Apr 15, 2016 |
omenka: Jonathan's insistence on contesting in 2011 rubbished the power rotation arrangement between the North and South.
Had Jo stepped aside and allowed a Northerner the position (just to complete Yar-Adua's second term) with an inviolable agreement power would return to the South in 2015, he would have emerged a national icon respected across board, and had he indicated an interest to contest in 2015 afterwards, I doubt there would have been a more popular candidate from the South than himself. He would have been literally "appointed" the president.
Now, the arrangement is messed up. Buhari might likely run for a second term after which I know the North would throw their weight behind a South West candidate. But, should Baba decide to step aside, Osinbajo would likely be thrown up and with Baba's support, the North would likely still gravitate towards him.
On the other side, if the later scenario is thrown up in APC and PDP, as they are planning to, puts up a Northern candidate, odds are that PDP would lose woefully, not for reason of the candidate himself but because of the choice of his vice -Karma. BUT, if PDP beats the odds and emerges victorious, we'll have a situation where power would stay in the North for 12 long years, bringing me back to my opening statement about the wrong choice Jo made in 2011. there was nothing wrong in Jonathan contesting in 2011, 2015 was where the problem was, Jonathan would have allowed a northerner to contest and insist on nominating a candidate from the south just like tinubu did in APC. Jona would have easily replaced obj as the soul of pdp but mhen the guy was too greedy and wanted it all, now with obj gone, pdp does not have a leader to navigate things for them any longer |

orlaryemy: Decision makers in PDP are surely not smart, similar strategy was employed in 2015 and failed. Ignore south west at your own peril, it will will fail again and at the last minute pdp would start sharing money to Yoruba Obas just like last election.
Exactly the sw is going to come with lots of propaganda which other regions and pdp will find difficult to counter |
Politics › Re: 2019: PDP Zones President To North, VP Goes To South East by Goke7: 11:12am On Apr 15, 2016 |
pdp is getting too desperate when its still 3 years away, thereby showing their strategy too early, APC on the other hand now have enough time to counter this strategy, those who think the APC will implode are just kidding. The APC will do all it takes to retain power in 2019 except the PDP can be smart enough in the NASS to ensure the card reader is enshrined in the constitution before the 2019 elections as the supreme court has invalidated the card readers and PVCs, only these electronic devices can make an opposition party win aso rock which favoured the APC in 2015.
The best chance PDP have to win aso rock is in 2023 when the south west will insist its their turn to be President in APC, PDP can then offer their ticket to any northerner to be President and if they still have the ss and se in their kitty, they will easily have the presidency back but for 2019, PDP should concentrate on winning more states in preparation for 2023 when their chances are brighter. |

I really hope things work out in this country, be it APC or PDP, I just wonder why people love to throw insults at one another when anything appears in the news. If Buhari achieves, it's for everyone's benefits, If PDP does, it's still for our good, directly or indirectly we get affected if they do negative things. Exactly, National development must come first |

xharder: I just called an uncle who works with peace air, he told me the process has been on for over 2 year now and was approved just last week. the approval took buhari unaware because he would have cancelled it. it was the government of enugu state and some stake holders and investors that fought for the approval and with the help of DSP ekweremmadu, peace mass transit, etc. the people of enugu should be thanking Jonathan and his aviation minister for making enugu airport an international one in the first place. Buhari and his cohort has noting to do with this. the next is to give us all the embassies of the approved route most especially US embassy. You are not making sense pls, is it ekweremadu or the enugu governor that approved it, what if it was not approved, pls let's leave all this talk and focus more on how to bring more development. There is a bad trend we are gradually developing, where the present FG is moving things, we keep saying its the handiwork of the previous govt, we are creating a needless battle that will boomerang if care is not taken, for e.g. the mambilla power plant was renegotiated late last year for a project that was already cancelled and folks came up to say it was the work of the previous govt. Let's stop all this and be more Nationalistic, once again its great seeing international flights from Enugu, this will reduce the needles vehicular traffic around the Lagos airports, now that's progress and am happy |
Politics › Re: QUESTIONS For Ex President Ebele Jonathan by Goke7: 9:13am On Apr 15, 2016 |
The reason is simple, fellows in the Niger delta prefer individual money settlement than critical infrastructure that drives development, hence the so called success of the amnesty program. When last did we hear the likes of asari dokubo and others fighting for the development of their region.
They have been settled individually which is what they prefer. Its also evident in the way the calabar rail project is being refused by the region |

Let's always be positive with any good development, pulling ourselves down because of our differences will never bring development and the western world will continue to take advantage of our differences.
Again its positive seeing another Nigerian airline airlifting passengers directly to specific destinations out of Nigeria. |

The people shouting true federalism these days were the ones who destroyed it in the 1960s when it was working wonders, they never knew the value then until now, getting it back I doubt but it is a welcome idea but one issue we keep silent about is the actual function of states governors, they play a critical role in development you know |

ilawanson44: You are more than right! The despot was busy running Nigeria like it's his personal property not knowing that the turn out of events which is linked to his tyrannical tendencies was being watched by the International Community! I have a friend who stays in the Netherlands and he intended coming home (Nnewi) to invest before the outcome of the elections which was rigged by Jega in buhari's favor.
The guy decided to chill to see how the political and economical atmosphere under the gworo-chewing mallam would look like and as if he knew, the economy started crashing! Then came the event of the massacre of Shiites and the IPOB protesters. The latter angered my guy and he gathered enough footage of the events both on paper and electronic media then proceeded to the Hague with some other IPOB agitators living in Holland and nearby EU Countries.
The money which he wanted to come home to invest was what he used in covertly reaching out to lawyers there. I tried to dissuade him from "wasting his money" but he waved it off and said it was better to make an attempt to do something than remain silent! This news shows that his efforts and that of some other individuals have finally paid off!
The incarceration buhari put Nnamdi Kanu i will definitely knock on his door soon! The best he will get is a life-long asylum in Yemen! TYRANT! Interesting!!! |
