asorocker: If ben ayade is building a deep sea port then what is the federal government doing. The loan should be taken to upgrade other Niger delta ports to sea port as this will encourage export of goods from the hinter land to overseas via the Niger delta sea ports.
What is the economic advantage of linking Lagos with Calabar via rail that supersedes building deep sea ports and dock yards that would encourage evacuation of produce and products for export. you guys keep using the excuse of sea port just to jettison the rail project, the issue of sea port is a different thing altogether, why not demand for rail and sea port together, does it make sense to refuse a house in Ikeja for a house in lekki when you can have both of them? |

kenny987: Understand my point and stop being rude. Why is it just two towns in the entire SE? Meanwhile in other regions you have one or more routes through each state? Is Aba in Abia the only area or city in the whole SE? so it must pass through 10 towns in the SE before we can believe there is no marginalization, like I said earlier in one of my posts, if am PMB, I won't bother any longer cos nothing seem to please you guys after all even your lawmakers don't care either. |

kenny987: I was wondering why the proposed routes touch at least one town or more in the entire SS but only two places Aba n Onitsha in the SE. The SW has this rail line running through both from the Kano route and the proposed Lagos-Calabar route. Why is that? Do other SE states not qualify for rail services?
See how one has to squint to see its infinitesimal passage through Aba but you can see it meandering through Yenagoa-Otuoke-Yenagoa again before it continues. So it must pass through all the houses in aba for you to believe, na wa for una o |

CyerSeries: If the government really want to include the project, they should come with a supplementary budget that will capture the project, it's not rocket science.
The game the government is playing here is to make Nigeria think the NASS is sabotaging them because of Saraki's trial.. I don't give a fvck about Saraki anyway. Another thing they wanna do is to create impression that SE/SS representatives at the NASS are blocking FG's project in the region brought by Amechi.. If they succumb to FG's antics, it will make SE/SS representatives (PDP) less popular in the region, and make Amechi/PMB(APC) more popular in the region.
But PDP NASS members from the two region saw their antics and played a fast one on them by telling them to come up with a supplementary budget that will capture the project. Supplementary budget is not possible due to our debt profile. The money has been provided for the rail project already, it was deliberately diverted by the lawmakers to others. Let's stop allowing the elites to mid inform us in this country, even the lawmakers know this |

Sorry we need a dictator before our lawmakers allocate all our money to grinding machines and bore holes when there are more serious national assets to be maintained and secured. maupe: Just to play the devil's advocate, the HOR have extended a hand of friendship and peace to the Executive. I expect the Executive to return the favour, by admitting their errors and ineptitude ( No one is perfect). The President, should now accept this token of friendship and input the new additions into a supplementary budget, and thus pass the 2016 budget into effect, while the NASS reviews and peruses through the remaining errors in the budget Supplementary budget? Excuse me are you aware that the present budget isca deficit one, so you want the debt profile to go up, no need of supplementary nonsense, the lawmakers should reallocate the money they have allocated to town halls and keks marwa to the needed infrastructure of relevance. Thanks |

Does it mean that NDDC is illegal since it was totally opposed by the Executive and made to exist by the courageous NASS that overturned Obasanjo's veto?
Democracy is a representative government and moreover, Buhari wasn't an independent candidate. am not sure you ready the professor's submissions, he said the NASS cannot impose expenditure on the executive for projects that have been conceptualized in terms of selection of contractors and technical layouts or drwaings e.t.c. kenny987: I don't see where the SS/SE senators have blocked this project. They have said the Executive should bring forward a supplementary bill. The Senate Chairman ruled in favour of this because it was a more popular stand. PDP alone cannot have a more popular stand with overwhelming support when they are in the minority so what is the op going on about? A supplementary is not possible with the current deficit in the present budget, these fellows are simply looking for more money to steal, can't you see? the senate president panders towards the pdp, have you not noticed this all the while, they placed him there |

olutunde12: Well, me for one, I dont see any substance in this news. The ifirst important question is " Was the project included in the budget the president presented to the senate?" If it wasnt as we were told, does the minister have any right to present an approriation to the senate without the knowledge of the president? Again, was their any other minister that did same and it was passed? These and many more are the questions vanguard should answer instead of this rubbish. Are you aware that the lawmakers have included things that were not also in the original budget e.g. converting agricultural pejects to their constituency projects so what stop them from including the calabar rail project? Did they need to beg PMB to include their own personal project? |
