Nothing beats this wickedness, that's why i will not join this discussion . I have no patience with ANYONE who peddles the GOSPEL for MONEY.

DrummaBoy: Welcome to the world of tithe discuss. This is the reason for opening the thread, to be able to discuss tithing without reaching for each other jugular. That is why the rules are there.

Bidam: Can we also assume, it is your ministry. Most of your post and threads are mainly accusations.

OLAADEGBU: Thanks for bringing up the accurate report. Those depending on the reports of the 10 spies are doing so at their own peril. I will believe the report of the Lord.

OLAADEGBU: Do not be mendacious. It is on record on this forum that you have been scurrilous whenever his name or church is being mentioned. Even your sarcastic and deliberate misspelling of his name is an example. It clearly shows how you show your respect to your father at home.

This thread was opened for a theological discussion between Candour and myself against two other oppontents.

Unlike other posters here on NL, I have to listen to posts, and to have others debating while I am planning my presentation is distracting.

I hear some deception in posts that trouble me. Question from a tither asking for answers to questions, saying "no insults", then asking, "Can one be a Christian and not tithe." To me, that is calling into question one's Salvation.

Salvation is not hinged upon whether one obeys his pastors [size=16pt] demands [/size] to tithe or not. It is hinged solely on faith in Christ and His finished work on the Cross at Calvary.

The tither does not want insults from the non tither, yet has no problem hurling insults himself? What's wrong with that picture?

Again, I ask respectfully that those who want to debate, please, please open a thread for that purpose so as not to distract me. I do not believe that is asking too much.

I stand on the new testament teachings to the church and from that truth, tithe was never mentioned nor taught to the church.

On the contrary, tithe was abolished in Hebrews 7.

However, this discussion is gonna be lengthy, so we can look into all angles of tithe. I understand you people claim tithe was before the law but you still run to Malachi to curse me and other Christians if we don't tithe according to the law.

So, I take it that your claim that tithe was before the law is just deception if you will have to resort to tithe of the law to issue threat and curse.

Why do you teach or think Christians should 'pay' or 'give' mandatory monetary 10% of their monthly or weekly income to religious organization today while the Apostles never taught it to the Church?

Zikkyy: Nobody mentioned God here. I was responding to the idea of joagbaje calling people sharing their views/opinions here agents of satan. maybe he is telling us that the hundreds of millions (or even billion +) christians not tithing (because they don't believe in it) are all agents of satan.

It is a thing of the heart. That is why they fight tooth and nail at tithes forgetting the scripture talks about both tithes and offerings. They are only trying to find excuses not to give tithes but God has said it: Tithes AND Offerings. It is hypocrisy that makes them chose one over the other.

What did Jesus say about giving tithe, He said there are weighthier matters of the law which are love of God, justice, faithfulness, mercy (per different translation) which if you look at well are more of the Spirit of the Law but still not to neglect tithing.

The whole law is hinged on and fulfilled in love, anyone who does not have love will not even understand the law.

All they see is letters which killeth but the Spirit gives life.

Jesus knew that to give tithe right is to have the right heart and Spirit of giving. Paul confirmed it as well by trying to explain why they that sow spiritual seeds should reap material harvest referencing OT in I Cor 9:13-14.

So it is not strange that many stopped tithing as soon as they could for they never really had the right heart in the first place.

They felt forced, coerced, angry, bitter and envious...that is well displayed here.

They never believed they were giving to God so you wonder how they are able to even give offering since its still church that accepts it.

I think one even admitted once that he doesn't give as much.

How many of this poor have they really helped ever since? God is not mocked!

All giving alms, tithe, offering, donations are to be given with the right heart and Spirit else it profits nothing as I Cor. 13 says.

Giving from the heart of love is key. Let's remain cheerful givers, tithing never stopped me from alms giving, helping needy, and so many other givings, on the contrary it is increasing. Thank you Lord for supply.
