No, diddy; I am not jobless. As you may have noticed, I log on to nairaland mostly at night, except on weekends like this.

Due to the fact that you are a very frequent poster on NL, it isn't difficult at all noticing most of your posts on the forum.

ones a thread is created in the offtopic posting, you can deviate and say whatever you wann@ say cuzz seun aint interested in offtopic postings
Even on some serious threads, you, diddy, still deviate [usually by sending unnecessary greetings to your 'wives' in the middle of serious discussions]. It may interest you to know that this board was originally named chatterbox, but was only renamed as 'offtopic', probably when Seun saw that even the chatterbox topics were completely being deviated from - thanks to people like you.

diddy4:
@goodguy
you know i like it when people hate on me right? good. keep it up hater.
When one has got nothing to say in defence of himself, this is the type of statement that usually comes from that person in situations like this.

No, I am not hating on you (why should I?).  I have only said it as it is (as you have proven and even confirmed again yourself, by almost turning this thread into something else with nilla) - THE TRUTH!

nilla:
Is nairaland complaining about space yet huh
Not at all.

nilla:
On this I take a middle ground, because while I agree that there are some threads that are not necessary, at the same time if people are happy with it, i don't think it should really matter to others.
Madam, are you sure you're following this thread at all?  To be precise, are you sure you read my post? huh  No one is talking or complaining about unnecessary threads (there are thousands of them already).  Rather, my main concern is the way serious threads are usually turned into chatrooms, as has been exhibited by you and diddy in the last few posts.  If at all the thread is not a serious one, does that still give room for deviating away from the topic?

You guys are very lucky that Seun is now kind of lenient.  In the past, he would ban you straight away as soon as you even attempt to deviate from the topic, and susbsequently, your post gets deleted.

@Christino & Retro:  At least, you guys now get to see for yourselves that I wasn't particularly picking on diddy for no reason.  He just confirmed my previous post by himself. wink
Nairaland GeneralRe: Get More Posts Or Die Trying? by goodguy(m): 10:47pm On Jul 27, 2006
Christino, you're so right.

You know, it's usually annoying, when, during an ongoing serious discourse, you begin to see posts like, "hey, long time. whats up witchu?", "hey where hv u been, i missed ya kiss", "hey girl, sup?" (very typical of diddy & wives), and so on; till the thread eventually turns into yet another chatroom.

For God's sake!! People, this is a forum, not a chatroom!!! If you all want to chat, why don't you fix a date and time, and pick a yahoo chat room where you can all meet?

I atimes wonder if some people are really the age they claim. tongue
Nairaland GeneralRe: Why Ban Badman? by goodguy(m): 10:26pm On Jul 27, 2006
I wonder how many times threads like this will be created. Why create a thread because your friend was banned? Is banning a new thing on NL? You ought to know Seun by now.
RomanceRe: [poll] Would You Prefer to Marry a Virgin? by goodguy(m): 3:44pm On Jul 25, 2006
I honestly feel like shooting all the females here saying they don't want a virgin guy! (As if virgin guys are sh*t) angry

What makes you think a virgin guy cannot give you the same satisfaction that an 'experienced' guy can?  Afterall, the experienced one too was once a virgin.  Or who says once you get married to a virgin guy, he will forever be a virgin?  He could even surprise you on your first night together!  Or are you ladies considering your "first time" together, rather than "the rest of your lives" together?  Do not forget we're talking about marriage here! angry

Who says there's no cure for malaria?

grafikdon, you're so so right.  I had malaria last week and I'm perfectly okay now, so what are these guys talking about?

@gigette, thanks for the thorough explanation jare.
LiteratureRe: Cindy Rella: A Story by goodguy(m): 8:46pm On Jul 23, 2006
The Intro is professionally presented.

It's an explicit narrative story!

Even though it seems easy to predict what will eventually happen later on in the story, it's still suspensive enough to keep and hold one in a nail-biting session; while anxiously awaiting the concluding part of the story.

I say, Good Job, Seun!
ProgrammingRe: Java Programming For Dummies by goodguy(m): 7:54pm On Jul 23, 2006
I know I'm very late in this and I'm sorry for drawing you guys back.

I am also interested in the Java programming stuff and I've been following this thread since yesterday. (I actually don't know jack about programming or java or anything related to them).

I have downloaded textpad (I got the licensed version wink) but anytime I try compiling, it says, "The system cannot find the file specified". When I try running C:\> javac helloworld.java on Command prompt, it says "'javac' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file error". The thing is, javac.exe is no where to be found on my system so what should I do? huh

Note: I already did all the necessary configuration in the Environment variables.

P.S. I just found out that I have JRE 1.5.0_07. What should I do? huh
Christianity EtcRe: Celestial Church of Christ: Your Experience And Opinion by goodguy(m): 11:50pm On Jul 21, 2006
It's really funny how these pentecostal churches are so quick to condemn some of our practises, when in reality, they have actually started gradually adopting some of them.  So many people who said negative things about Cele are today, regretting ever uttering such words.  I read a magazine where all those who testified (all non-cele; some, even pastors of other churches) asked God to forgive them for saying negative things about Cele, and also gave their warnings to potential readers.

Even Obadare once warned his members never to say anything negative about Cele if they didn't want to experience the wrath of God.

I heard Pastor E. A. Adeboye and another pastor of RCCG even saw similar visions about the Celestial church (the other pastor is already a member of the Celestial church - so I heard).

@realcele, You're indeed a real Cele.  I hail you.

I never bragged about it. I never brag. I wouldn't even have talked about it, if you didn't mention that it was due to your headache that you couldn't defend a statement that you made.

I also do not have time for this. Thanks by the way.

@wesly
he was saying he cud take a test with a headache so i gave him one to take. people sometimes open there mouth without proper reasoning.  cool
And what makes you think I (goodguy) can not take a Calculus test, even with a very terrible headache?   You don't know me, therefore, you shouldn't imply such definitive statements.

I guess your last statement actually applies to you.

IAH:
Happy Belated Birthday!!! cool You didn't tell us on Nairaland.
Thanks jare.

i had a very bad headach today and i still have the thing. i just cudnt explain it as u did.
After initially admitting that you misunderstood the concept? grin

Ohh. . I didn't know headache affects thinking.  I once had a very terrible headache while in school and we were given a test.  I actually had the highest score in my class when our scripts were marked (straight up 100%!) wink

Also, even as I type now, I am ill but I don't think my illness has reflected in any of my posts. (I've been ill since monday embarassed)

Abeg, don't take this seriously o!  Even though I am serious. grin
FamilyRe: Men And Women Are Equal! by goodguy(m): 11:25pm On Jul 19, 2006
IAH:
Actually I would say my posts are more than yours in those so-called serious threads e.g. Technology, Business.
I guess you checked my profile statistics.  I tell you, it's misleading, really.  I'll explain.

Most of my posts (about 90%, out of the over 5000 posts) were made last year.  I usually feel embarrassed most times, whenever I remember those days when I spent most of my time in the Forum games and chatterbox (now offtopic) section of Nairaland.  However, these days, I hardly make any posts at all (as in, contribute actively) under any of these sections, except when it's unusually necessary.

Nonetheless, I do not dispute that fact that you are one of the very few Nairaland females whose posts are never found wanting in the serious-minded boards of the forum and I totally respect (and love like grin) you for that. wink

To round off my talk, in defence of my past 'unseriousness', I will like you to know that I was a year older just 9 days ago.  Therefore, as Paul said, ". . . I put away childish things." (1 Cor 13:11) grin

so maybe you should visit a western forum and you might see an increasing female contribution to "serious" threads.
According to Seun, 60% of Nairaland members are based abroad. So what's your point?

FamilyRe: Men And Women Are Equal! by goodguy(m): 11:22pm On Jul 18, 2006
@IAH, please note that I am generalising here so I expect you to understand me better.

So generally speaking, men are naturally stronger than women in all the categories of strength you listed up there. wink

@Wesley, I understand where you're coming from.  However, the technology around us alone shows what men are more capable of doing.  Nonetheless, this is not to say the women are not capable of doing the same, or even better; but the fact remains that they are fewer.  Afterall, it's not like they're not being given the chance.  Take Nairaland for example; no particular gender is restricted to any board at all.  But then, all serious-minded boards are usually occupied by the males more.
FamilyRe: Men And Women Are Equal! by goodguy(m): 10:24pm On Jul 18, 2006
WesleyanA:
and whoever said men are supposed to be in charge is wrong. women can be in charge too.
It's because of these kind of view that there are few female leaders in the world.
I think the issue of 'someone being in charge' should be properly explained here.  Should a man always be in charge simply because he's a man?  Shouldn't his ability to be in charge, also count?  Same applies to a woman too.

However, since strength (in all ramifications) is usually possessed more by a man, it is usually sensible for a man to be in charge; which of course has been the norm for ages now.  But note that I do not object to women being in charge, provided she's capable of actually being in charge.
Christianity EtcRe: Who Created Evil? God? So He's To Blame? by goodguy(m): 8:55pm On Jul 18, 2006
Brilliant (of course, logical) analysis there, nferyn!  But I'm sure there are answers to these probing thoughts.  I do not have them though. cheesy

@retro: are you sure you're not a Christian? You explain things even better than some of we Christians here. cheesy
FamilyRe: Men And Women Are Equal! by goodguy(m): 8:21pm On Jul 18, 2006
Seun, your post (attack) against retro was totally uncalled for.  The fact that she doesn't share the same views with you, gives you no right, whatsoever, to make such a statement concerning her.

Also, I find it somewhat difficult to comprehend the statement, "You have been brainwashed".  Brainwashed by what? Lest we forget, she's agnostic and does not read the Bible, else, it would have been understandable if you had said she has been brainwashed by the Bible (or Christianity), looking at it from your own atheistic point of view.

Moreso, she does not live in Nigeria, or anywhere in Africa, else, it would have been thought sensible if you had said she has been brainwashed by the African (Nigerian) mentality.

However, whatever you think of her (whether disgusting or unattractive) does not change the fact that she said the blatant truth in her post; no matter how you see it.

Peace. . . cool

EducationRe: Post-UME Exam Discussion by goodguy(m): 9:35pm On Jul 16, 2006
I just had a chat with a student of U.I a couple of minutes ago. He said, in U.I, they do not really consider your UME scores. Your O' level also matters!

For instance, if a student who scored 300 in JAMB, had just C parallel in his O' levels, he may not be shortlisted for the interview (They actually conducted interviews for them last year, which will most likely be the same to happen this year too).

Therefore, scoring high in the UME is not enough to qualify one for a post UME exam in the University of Ibadan, you must also have a good O' level result.

They married for a reason other than love? And what are those reasons? 'Respect', 'Understanding', etc? And those are part of what? Hatred? They are obviously attributes of love! Or what is love if there's no respect, understanding, etc? BTW, do you know what 'love' means at all?

But in susbsequent re-formattings, I just installed SP2 straight on, but all yielded the same result.
And then u said u installed more memory, u should have added another 256 MB and not the one u said u added cus then the system would not be able 2 run on dual channel mode, i hope u get what i am saying but if u don't its all good, get a new system
Well, since i added the 128MB RAM, it's been okay so far. The PC even boots faster than before now, and I haven't had any freezing problems with it.

I should reformat the system soon. I am still waiting for some things to be in order first of all. BTW, I am also considering installing Windows Vista this time around. Any suggestions/comments concerning that?
