Ashiwaju:Even if Okocha is from Pakistan, I will still choose him over Ronaldinho in terms of skills. |
ikamefa:Very typical of women! ![]() Nice posts by mlks_baby, kimba and davidylan. @Reverend: You should book for an appointment with Ben Carson! |
Tobacco company - Killing millions to make millions. Me, I wouldn't want to live a life of worries when she eventually has cancer of the lungs. And I wouldn't want to be a widower at an early age either. Therefore, I will NEVER marry a smoker! P.S. Smokers are liable to die young. Be wise. |
hucarson: @ goodguy,Well, I created this topic and I made it clear earlier what I mean by skills. No one is talking of dictionary meaning here. This is about manipulating the ball to make people shake their heads in total awe! Only Okocha does that everytime! He's a wonderful entertainer on the football field, if not the best soccer entertainer in the world! Besides, I guess you should also have a review on your understanding of the use of English. When I say he's better in all things except skills, I don't expect anyone to question my use of English there. It's clear enough to be understood. babwilms: 1) Okocha is more creative, as in he can do the unexpectedAbeg tell them jare! This is what I'm talking about (especially the part in bold) ![]() |
hucarson:Who's talking of TV commercial here? Damn! Duhhh!! It was a commercial and everything would have been done to make the commercial look presentable. The defender would have been told which moves to make to make Ronaldinho's dribbling look so superb! Let him try that on the field of play and tell me if he will go past the defender. hucarson:I already explained what I mean by skills here. You don't have to add your own 'jara' to suit your argument. I even admitted earlier that Ronaldinho is better than Okocha in all areas except skills. Get that into your skull! ![]() |
lordimpaq:Bros, which planet are u from? Do you watch football at all? Ronaldinho looses ball more than anyone else on the field of play. Why do you think he always wins freekicks? He's always being disposessed and fallen down, unlike Okocha who hardly falls down when tackled. So what are you telling me? @Babwilms, I dey gbadun you jare. Ride on! ![]() @All I was watching the video clip of one makossa song on TV two days ago and they were showing players performing fantastic skills in various matches while the song was still on. Of all players shown, only Okocha was shown about four (4) different times, in different matches, performing different wonderful skills. Ronaldinho was only shown once and he couldn't even dribble past the the opponent. They both just stood there looking at each other until Ronaldinho decided to do a 'leg over' which didn't even work as expected. One of the most outstanding skills of Okocha done was where there were 3 opponents attacking him and he stylishly escaped from them by passing the ball with his other leg to his own team mate. I really can't explain how he did it, 'cos there's no way one could have thought he would still have maintained the ball possession at that moment, with three people attacking him! That guy is ten much!! ![]() Also, note that we're comparing the Okocha in his twenties and very early thirties, with the Ronaldinho who's only in his mid-twenties. |
@Aunty Mary, Why do we have to drop the 'african man' mentality? We're africans afterall. You really don't expect us to adopt the 'white man' mentality now simply because you smoke; hence we should see things their way. Isn't it funny how you women expect us (men) to reason like 'other people' when it comes to issues that will only favour you; but when it comes to money spending, you then remember we're Africans who shouldn't forget our 'responsiblities'. Nonsense!!! |
I love those countries who's ages of consent are "Must be married". 16 in Nigeria? Wow! ![]() |
I will. . . NEVER . . .marry a girl that smokes. For drinking, I could cope; provided her drinking is moderately moderate. |
kimba:You're so right. Immediately I posted that stuff, they performed their usual miracle - they turned light to darkness! If anyone noticed, I signed out immediately I made that post. Thanks to NEPA/PHCN. ![]() |
For the first time in this year, PHCN/NEPA has decided to give us light for close to 12 hours today (on aggregate). Happy Democrazy Day!!! ![]() |
Rottweiler:On the contrary, you, as a believer, should have the upper hand in a situation like this. This is the more reason why I wouldn't mind getting married to an atheist, because I know eventually, she wouldn't need anyone to tell her God exists. She'll proclaim it herself! |
ono:They brought her into the world. Seun:So you're saying the parents have the upperhand in taking care of the woman's responsibilities? |
Seun: Suppose you meet someone who is so sweet, so loving, so gentle, so understanding, so caring, so attractive, so charming, etc. Someone who is everything you have ever wanted in a husband or wife. But that person just doesn't believe in God and despite all your efforts cannot believe (or refuses to believe). Why not? As far as she's so understanding, so loving, so gentle, so caring, so attractive, we love each other, and She's EVERYTHING I want in a wife, nothing stops me from getting married to her. |
people create the idea of a Godless world because they are unable to understand a world with God. The truth lies in what we do not understand
This actually makes a lot of sense. Atheists, look into this! However, the sad truth is that these atheists have forced themselves not to believe in God, even when they're so close to knowing the truth. |
Wow, I can see my post is now on the home page. I wonder what he's up to. ![]() exu:I didn't bother to go through your post. Only this line caught my attention while scrolling down. Call it pointless, call it whatever you like. Your belief or disbelief does not affect or change the veracity of MY story in any way. BTW, while I narrated what happened to me, you narrated a story about a young man. As you admitted, yours is really pointless. I don't even understand what you typed up there. You really don't have to make a fool of yourself because you want to discredit my story. |
I was seriously ill about 2 - 3 months ago. I was taken to the hospital and given some drugs, hoping that would do. Eventually, my condition grew worse. I was then taken to the hospital some days later (that same week) when my folks saw that my temperature was abnormally high, and I was unusally weak also. I underwent intensive care and treatment while at the hospital, with drips being passed into my veins for 8 solid hours. I was discharged and given some drugs again, but all proved abortive. There were still no improvements. The only option left was to be taken to church, and to my greatest surprise and expectation, immediately I was prayed for and took my bath with a specially (spiritually) prepared water at the church bathroom, every forms of weaknesses, headaches, high temperature just left immediately. (It was not that I hadn't been taking my bath before. As a matter of fact, I took my bath and slept for about an hour or two before I was taken to church that day; because when I even woke up, I was still so weak and my temperature was so high). I couldnt talk to anyone before, but I started smiling and even chatted with a few friends before I left church that afternoon. Looking at the state I was in when I was brought to the church, one would think I was going to collapse. The whole thing was like magic to me, but God did it. It is only me who knows how I felt within me that day, so no matter what anyone here says to discredit my post, that's his/her problem. Now, who will convince me that God doesn't exist? |
It is very proper for them to get married. They are humans afterall and they deserve that eternal companionship with a partner that most normal people desire. However, it will only be improper when they decide to bear children. This will not only have an adverse effect on the children alone, who, in the future, may regret ever been born into this world at all, but on the welfare of the nation as a whole [Imagine a country where every HIV positive persons produce children with the same virus. . that will only make things more complicated for such nation, especially an underdeveloped or a developing one like Nigeria for that matter]. Therefore, I will suggest that, in as much as these HIV victims have every right to get married, they should be totally discouraged from producing offpsrings; by encouraging them to always use contraceptives or any other pregnancy-prevention materials/medications during their intercourse sessions. Betterstill, they should both be made sterile to prevent any kind of excusable 'accidental discharge'. And if they want children, they should adopt! ![]() I therefore conclude by saying: While it is more than proper for HIV positive persons to get married, it is totally improper for them to bear children of their own. |
Typewriter:Actually, I use DAP. ![]() For those who need photoshop, check this link: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-14002.0.html |
nferyn:No, not at all. What I mean is this: You wouldn't need the prophet to confirm to you that his prophesy has come to pass. You'll figure it out yourself because it will be so obvious by then. KAG:For the fact that I'm just hearing of the man for the first time, I don't regard him as 'notable'. Bola Ige was a man whose name wasn't strange at all to anyone in Nigeria - that is the type of 'notable' I mean. KAG:That depends on who declares the prohesy. A true prophet wouldn't beat about the bush. So. . NO, he wouldn't put anything vaguely. As a matter of fact, prophecies are often declared clearly, but certain facts are often withheld as at the time it is being delivered, for reasons best known to God. ![]() Example: A man was warned not to travel within a specified period of time. He didn't hearken and did otherwise. On his journey back home, he got involved in a ghastly motor accident and died instantly; and found in his pocket was the sheet of paper where the message/warning was written for him. [This is a True life story. The accident occured in December 25, 1998, My dad and sister were involved, and they were the only survivors too ].Now, note that he was only told not to travel. He wasn't told he was going to have an accident. THAT. . is exactly what I mean. KAG:It depends on what was going on when I saw it. The condition of things at that moment also count. Therefore, you can't just conclude that I was hallicinating. |
@goodguy The answer to my question was NO, and I explained on explain that
Your explanation has got nothing to do with godliness/ungodliness. It's rather based on your personal opinions/feelings. I guess you should have asked: "Is it proper for two HIV positive persons to get married?" The "godly" part you included is really getting you confused. |
If you don't like him, don't like his gift [for the fact that it is coming from him, no matter what the gift is]! |
@atitebi So you also play Baba Ijebu (by the Lagos lotto authority). I've played a couple of times but I've never won. I almost won today. I chose numbers 62 and 56, but 63 and 56 came out. I was just so so mad! And the more annoying part is that I wanted to play 63 but I was convinced otherwise. Arrrgghhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, the game is just pure luck. You choose numbers randomly and play. Sometimes, if I see a car's plate number, I use the numbers to play, other times, I see numbers on signboards or just anything and I play, and at other times, I just think of numbers (maybe the year something memorable happened) and I play them. So I'd say there's no number anyone can give you that'll make you win, though some forecast (it works sometimes, not everytime). I wish you the best of lucks! ![]() |
@Ope, you still have in no way explained to us the godliness/ungodliness about this issue. All you have stated here is what you think, not whether it is godly or not OR what makes it godly/ungodly
I didn't say its UnGodly from my question, did I? I am only asking for your answers and reason to them.
But your posts have clearly shown that you think it is ungodly. Or how else do you expect us to interprete your reponse to this question: If you were the minister-in-charge to wed anyone and this couple stood before you in your full knowledge of their case, would you wed them or not? ![]() |
When a woman eventually gets married, does she still belong to her parents - the ones who brought her into this world; or her husband - the one who paid the price to possess her? PS. Pls forgive my use of English there. 'OWN' there is just to show who really can still say "She belongs to me". |
KAG:Maybe from agnostics as well. But Christians, deists (never even met one) ?? Naah. KAG:Some people you mean? KAG:Well then. You're entitled to it. ![]() KAG:I said a notable person. I've never even heard of that guy you made reference to up there. ![]() KAG:I've never heard of prophecies that come this way. Prophecies are often delivered in a way that will make you figure it out yourself by the time it comes to pass. It'll then be like: "Ohh. . so this is what that man was talking about!". Geddit?? KAG:I saw it at the back of an event program. There were many prophecies written there, some of which *I think* have come to pass. But I cant find the book anymore (since 2001). Another one I faintly remember is the prophecy about the wife of either a governor or president (can't really recall) that will die in the yr 2005. Remember OBJ lost his darling wife last year. The prophecies were many (over 50). . . even prophecies till 2008. I really wish I could still find that book! KAG:If I tell you I saw something, and I am very sure I saw that thing, (maybe I was the only one who saw it) and I know I wasn't hallucinating; it will so so impossible to convince me otherwise, no matter how hard you try to scientifically prove anything to me. THAT. . is the case with some people with supernatural beliefs. |
@Ope: Why don't you first of all tell us why you think it is ungodly, then we can take up this discussion/debate from there. |
Again, why did McCauley Culkin get married? Probably he wanted to stop being a problem child. ![]() |
KAG:I was expecting you to say that. I've heard that countless times from your fellow atheists. This however, does not deny the fact that the supernatural does exist indeed. If you're Nigerian, ask yourself why cases of kidnappings become rampant when a higher denomination of the naira is introduced. KAG:I'm talking of dreams like: You saw someone in your dream. He gave u certain warnings, and the consequences of not following the warnings thereof. Eventually, you wake up, you ignore the warnings thinking "it was a mere dream" and Alas!, you begin to face the consequences. (It may not be a dream like this exactly, but something similar). KAG:That you haven't experienced such should not be an avenue for you to deny it's existence. These things happen for real. KAG:Yes, something close to the latter. KAG:Bola Ige was a Senior Advocate of Nigeria. The prophecy went this way: "In December 2001, a very notable person in Nigeria will be killed by asassins". How clearer could this be? KAG:And while we're waiting for that time to come (if at all it will), shouldn't there be at least, a simple explanation? |
KAG:And even those who openly confess that they were once engaged in such stuffs? KAG:This is just an assertion. I need a very rational explanation. I'm old and wise enough to differentiate between what I have experienced in reality and what I've seen in my dreams. Nothing adds up as nothing. I guess it's even Science itself that conflicts with human intelligence sometimes. :rolls eyes: KAG:It's a good thing you've admitted to not been sure. Well, I have witnessed and personally experienced fulfilled prophecies. Do you know the death of Bola Ige was prophesied by a prophet just some weeks before his death? Well, it wasn't publicised so I don't expect you to know. KAG:I once got this sent to me: If God answers your prayers, he simply tested your faith. If God does not answer on time, he's testing your patience. If God does not answer at all, he has better plans for you. ![]() KAG:Good thing it's your opinion. KAG:And my own point is: For those things that do not have rational explanations, how do we explain their occurences? |
In support of your notion about not submitting yourself to any man, your posts implied that you started taking things personal, especially when you seemed not to agree with any lady who would submit to her husband. Therefore, I wouldn't blame her for playing along also. In any way, I'll leave you two to sort out your differences. Shalom! |
Very very educative! |
