The only one objection I have here is if the girl is under age.

Otherwise if the parents and the girl register no complain, why the uproar from those whose fathers had or have young and old wives as practiced in Africa and Asia or serial monogamy in the western world.

If the old man is rich, send her to school and make sure she has a secured future so that when the old man is gone, she can sleep with younger men.

Children of Alafin of Oyo, Mr. Fixer Anenih (I wonder what happened to that young girl after he passed) Ojukwu and Northern chiefs, stop your hypocrisy.

9 JANUARY 2003
This Day (Lagos)

Nigeria: The Buhari/Okadigbo Ticket

Lagos — The endorsement yesterday morning of former Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari as the presidential candidate of the All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP) and former Senate President, Dr. Chuba Okadigbo as his running mate will set the tone for a fierce battle for the control of the machinery of the Federal Government in the April 19, 2003 presidential elections in the country.

While President Olusegun Obasanjo may likely depend on the incumbency factor and the numerical strength of states controlled by his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which stands at 21, the Buhari/Okadigbo ticket equally has the potency to give the ruling party a hot chase for the control of the Aso Rock Villa.

This is pertinent to Nigeria

In china, the CJN would have been executed publicly..

In Japan the CJN would have committed suicide.

In Europe the CJN would have resigned.

In the US the CJN would be facing a congressional hearing, and be facing 20 years jail time.

In south Africa his houses would have been vandalized and set on fire and he would be in protective custody so he is not killed by protesters and rioters.

But in Nigeria, a corrupt man being the head of the judiciary is celebrated and SAN's rally round him to fight for him, while d common man comes on fb to support him, with over 40 houses and over N1billion in his account as a civil servant??

we truly belong to poverty as a nation, we really haven't suffered enough.

Hundreds of nonviolent immigration detainees sent to max-security jails as part of ‘abhorrent’ government program

By Brendan KennedyInvestigative Reporter

Thu., Jan. 24, 2019
Canada’s immigration authorities locked up nearly 1,500 nonviolent immigration detainees in maximum-security jails last year, the Star has found.

These detainees have been incarcerated in the most restrictive conditions possible alongside sentenced criminals and those awaiting trial on serious charges.

Ebrahim Toure, pictured here at the Central East Correctional Centre in February 2017, spent the first four-and-a-half of his five-and-a-half years in immigration detention in a maximum-security jail. A year before his eventual release a Superior Court judge ordered his tranfer to a less restrictive immigration holding centre, saying that holding Toure in a maximum-security jail was “grossly disproportionate” to the risk he posed and the reason he was being detained.

(Anne-Marie Jackson / Toronto Star file photo)

While they may have criminal records, the detainees were not considered dangerous by the Immigration and Refugee Board. Almost all were detained solely on the grounds that they were unlikely to appear for their immigration hearing.

A Star analysis of government statistics from April 1, 2017 to March 31, 2018, found that 80 per cent of immigration detainees held in provincial jails — rather than less restrictive immigration holding centres — were not detained on the grounds that they were dangers to the public. Data from the months since then shows the rate is unchanged. All provincial jails are maximum security.

“It’s abhorrent for the government to be placing people in maximum-security jails that it acknowledges are not a danger,” said Subodh Bharati, an immigration lawyer at the Community and Legal Aid Services Program at Osgoode Hall Law School. Bharati said that by the government’s own description, immigration detention is explicitly administrative and not punitive. “But incarceration in a maximum-security jail is punitive by its very nature.”

Two Superior Court judges have also criticized the practice.

Millions of people are denied their due process on a daily basis, we never seen indignation like this over one man who claimed he forgot to declare his loot. Small time, him go say na him business.

Poor people are waiting in jails because they cannot raise bail, looters have special hotels in jails, if they ever see jail, no protest.

People are homeless, looters have properties all over Nigeria that are vacant. They don't have to worry because the houses are mortgage free from looting.

Haba, Nigerians please fight for the poor nah.

What most Nigerians agree on is that Buhari is conscientiously against corruption. This may give him an edge but you do not take chances, make unforced errors or create self-inflicted wounds this close to an election that is so important to your interest. The fact that his political alternative is worse may not overcome the zealousness and penchant pursuit of opponents. Buhari may have mellowed, but the team around him are still dogmatic as ever.

Bottom line, if it takes a devil to clean up Nigeria, so be it. Nigeria would bleed to death if vagabonds are allowed to use due process to delay justice each time they are caught red-handed in the cookie jar. All the excuses that if you are corrupt, you can only seek equity with clean hands is in the land of angels. KAI not in Nigeria O!

Your problem as your name indicates is either you have Nigeria in your pocket or kill it. Dream on.

You expect an angel to come and clean up Nigeria like Jonathan?

Drake collaborated openly with I think Wiz Kid. I remember when another female artist pointed it out, the owner told her to shut up.

When children of Marvin Gay sued about their father's music being stolen, the musical instrument behind it is African.

Music patent is hard to prove. Even Afobeat, as you know is a mixture of Jazz and highlife. Orlando claimed he started it before Fela. He got to London after Fela, Bayo Martins, Wole Bucknor etc. They were all experimenting with it.

As someone pointed out, Nigeria has no strong patent law. The advantage of that should have propelled us into 21 century by copying European and American technology instead of importing everything we see.

One has to be careful with some of you guys, otherwise well meaning Igbo would get caught in this.

I don't think this self congratulation and love for Awo would work on those with any sense of history.

That you released Awo from Prison, not Gowon.

That you sent Awo to Calabar not Gowon.

That you wanted to make Awo the President.

Did any of you have any control on Federal Prison?

If you did, Awo wrote Ironsi when he had power to release him, he refused. Ojukwu was the Military Governor in the East for Ironsi declared Unitary State.

Go back home and find out, every Igbo man or woman that ever prospered in Nigeria made it from the West. Even those that started in the North made their way to the West.

You had the gut to ask what Yoruba has ever done for Igbo.

Politics › Sad But True: Igbo Would Support Yoruba by googi(op): 4:24pm On Jan 18, 2019
Igbo would only support any Yoruba working against Yoruba interest -

They supported Obasanjo when he could not win his own ward, state or region.

They supported Tinubu when he rallied them against Yoruba as Speaker.

They supported Tambuwal to hijack the Speaker position.

They supported Saraki for Senate President against Tinubu when Saraki made them Senate Vice President.

Igbo would support anyone against Yoruba interest -

They gave Executive Prime Minister to Tafawa Balewa and prefer ceremonial President to spite Yoruba son and interest, Awo.

They prefer Buhari when he made Okadigbo his Vice Presidential candidate.

They squandered Jonathan's good will in his first term acquiring the most powerful positions.

They prefer Atiku after losing to him for no other reason than to play their traditional role against Yoruba.

Yet, there is no place in the world where they have been accommodated than Yoruba land.

Igbo and Yoruba leaders need to think: RONU O!

You people nor dey taya?

Why are you trying to divide Yoruba that trace the same origin to Ife, including Bini, Itsekiri, Lakunmi in Igbo or Delta State, not to mention many in West Africa, Brazil, Cuba, Haiti, Trinidad, USA etc?

One of the major religion worldwide.

If the Irish, Welsh or Scott could not understand one another and the Americans from North to South could not understand one another' accents, why pick on Yoruba out of jealousy?

The Igbo in the West that lost their identity, did it for convenience and are still proud of it. If you don't believe it, go to any of the compounds and call one of them Igbo at your own risk or tell Obanikoro in Lagos that they are children of Ogiso.

At some point, destractors have to swallow their vomit.

Some are so naive with colo- mentality, you wonder if we will ever get out of it. It damages not only our economic well being but our social and cultural life

Polygamy is the choice and the most popular marriage worldwide with polyandry depending on the ratio of men to women.

Yet some Africans condemned the most successful relationship in the world and glorified serial monogamists. Check your brains.

So because a man or a woman is rich, he or she cannot enjoy the bossom of a willing younger partner?

But why a married woman? Is her husband getting a cut of leftovers from the affair?

Thank God, somebody still remembers. One would think Shagari was a saint the way he was described. Adults knew better.

When 1983 Election came. NPN rigged massively returning Shagari to power. People were dumbfounded and could not believe that their disapproval against corruption was taken for granted. More important, it had not registered in their votes. The same people praising Buhari after his death and blaming Buhari now, were celebrating when Buhari struck. Who else could have overthrown Hausa head of Government bloodlessly but Buhari?

There are many speculations why Buhari and Idiagbon struck but Nigerians were relieved! While it is true that Buhari was known as a religious fanatic, his abhorrence for corruption was not in doubt. Buhari and Idiagbon lived up to their reputation. They sanitized the polity and Government. Operation War Against Indiscipline, WAI was entrenched and discipline returned to the polity. Yes, we also paid a price of lack of civil liberty but had financial discipline.
