It does not matter how much she grieved or missed him. It takes a few days, months and years to set in. Even if the relationship was better than most, she can never replace the father of her baby. She will cry, eh! iukpe: Yes we don't know what she is telling the daughter. Yes she doesn't look grieved to me talk less of someone being there to take the photo for social media. But she is free to handle her self and her matters the best way she can. However, that is not an obituary picture nor is it on a laptop. But I wonder who quickly in just a few days of the crash created 'that' image with his last post. Again, just for social media at such a time. |

Feel sorry for Agbaje. Igbo support messed up his chances.
Someone said if you want to lose ask for Igbo support and if you want to win, pay Igbo to support your opponent in the North and West.
Very sad. Igbo were highly respected in the West. Time to rebuild. |

I have heard this comparison many times. Look, there is no country more tribalistic than USA. Jews, Irish, Italians, Polish etc, not to mention tribal politics live together in certain neighborhoods all over US. Note that when they talk about that freedom of movement or "only in the USA", it does not include you, African American, Native Indians and people of color many of those are disproportionately locked up in their correctional system, more so than any other country in the world. Stop it. Igbo are more accepted in Western Nigeria than anywhere in the world. Igbo mend your bridges and appeal to your hosts. Yes, I mean HOST. linkin8k: It breaks my heart the way politicians and certain individuals have turned this Lagos election into a thing of tribe.
Look at someone like Hillary Clinton. Born in Chicago, married to an Arkansas native and yet a won senate seat in New York.
A nation that can not overcome ethnic barriers will never develop. We are Nigerians , but those interested in getting into political office and/or helping their benefactors getting into said offices will stop at nothing to continue dividing us along ethnic lines. We are foolishly blinded to this and go on insulting each other.

As much as many decent Yoruba especially Lagosians cannot stand Tinubu as a leader they prefer him and his choice of governor to Igbo supported candidates. You are on point and so right because Igbo children have become toxic. Believe me, these are not the Igbo we grew up with. I felt sad when someone commented that be now understand why Igbo are treated badly in the North or South Africa. Remember that the barbaric killings of Igbo in the North affected all Southerners, even some from Northcentral. It affected all Nigerians in South Africa. Right now only palace coup can remove Tinubu in Lagos, the same way Tinubu betrayed Pa Dawudo. Those celebrating Tinubu should be careful. Rotimi47: If you want to trash your opponents in an election in the South West or the North, no need to campaign just pay those people to support your opponents and victory is surely yours. |
Politics › Re: So Embarrassing And Deluding, Every Yorubaman Claiming Lagos by googi: 2:24am On Mar 10, 2019 |
Just for clarification:
The lineage of Oba of Lagos came from a mixture of Yoruba and Bini woman that married Alagba, a man from Elesha. Actually those Bini claimed Yoruba lineage that conquered and overthrew the Ogiso in Igodomido or whatever before it was baptized as Bini. They and all Bini still bear their baptized Yoruba name till tomorrow.
Oba of Lagos was given a piece of land at Isaleko. When Kosoko and others went beyond their power and signed treaty with the British handing the land to them. Tijani Oluwa challenged their treaty to the highest Court in England and he won with his lawyer Herbert MaCauley, the same one that mentored Zik and made Zik leader of NCNC. The power of the land was returned to the rightful owners, the Idejo Chiefs.
Ikoyi, that was turned into GRA by Federal eminent domain law has finally been returned to Onikoyi, the land owners.
It is ironic that Igbo are fighting for Bini, Yoruba rebels as owners of Lagos when Bini Yoruba lay claim to Onitsha as verified by Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe. So either way Yoruba own Bini and Onitsha. Even Igbo call Onitsha people as Yoruba/Igbo. Go find out if you do not know. |

The only advantage Tinubu has right now is the support of Igbo for Agbaje.
Nobody should be proud of Tinubu as a leader, that is why other Yoruba states are rejecting him. The disrespect, fear and effrontery display by Igbo work very well into Tinubu hands.
Yoruba has never been short of capable leaders, Tinubu fear them. Take Fashola, Banire, late Funsho Williams, Finnih, Mamora and many others. Tinubu tried to kill their careers out of fear.
He even worked against the Yoruba Lady Speaker to be, with the cooperation of Igbo. So those who claim Tinubu has Yoruba at heart are fooling themselves. Tinubu would drive a hot shaft through his mother's ass to get his loot. |

The fact that they are so obsessed with Bini, Ile-Ibinu and Benin which they have no glue what it means until it was explained to them by the son on their conqueror, beats the joke out of any reasonable person. They cling to it like a curse or honor fervently. The same way African American cling to their English, French or Portuguese names. DonCandido: benin was the name called southern eastern western Nigeria then only north was different
THIS IS PATENT FALSEHOOD.
BENIN WAS NEVER AT ANY TIME THE CAPITAL OF ANY KNOWN CITY. THE NAME "BENIN" WAS THE CORRUPTION BY THE PORTUGUESE OF NAME OF A SUB ETHNIC GROUP WEST OF RIVER ETHIOPE. IT ALSO DOUBLES AS THE NAME THE TOWN -JUST LIKE THE SPARTANS (A SUB GREEK PEOPLE) WHO LIVE IN SPARTA. NO MORE, NO LESS.
THE ORIGINAL NAME OF THE TOWN WAS IGODOMIGODO WHEN IT WAS JUST A CHIEFDOM. IT BECAME "UBINI" OR "IBINU" WHEN IT ADOPTED AN URBAN STRUCTURE WITH THE IMPOSITION OF THE PREVALENT URBANIZED STYLE OF ADMINISTRATION IN CIRCA 13TH CENTURY MOST PROBABLY BY THE YORUBAS WITH WHOM THEY SHARE HISTORY AND CULTURE FROM CIRCA 13TH CENTURY.
THE NAME "EDO" WAS ADOPTED LATER TO INCORPORATE THE DIFFERENT PEOPLES OF OUTLYING DISTRICTS WHO ARE DISTINCT ETHNIC GROUPS ENTIRELY. BENIN WAS ABLE TO BRING THESE PEOPLE UNDER ITS SUZERAINTY BY FORCE OF ARMS OR ACCULTURATION OVER ALONG PERIOD.
the ocean that flows below Nigeria
THERE IS NO OCEAN FLOWING "BELOW" NIGERIA.
NIGERIA IS LOCATED WITHIN THE GULF OF GUINEA. THE GULF OF GUINEA ENCOMPASSES MOST OF WEST AFRICAN COUNTRIES. THE GULF WAS A NATURAL PHENOMENON FORMED BY THE ATLANTIC OCEAN. INSIDE A GULF YOU WILL FIND SEVERAL BIGHTS OR BAY.
then was called bight or bale of Benin meaning under Benin, the ocean was named to the country it lies on
THIS IS ALSO ARRANT NONSENSE, YOUR PROBLEM IS THAT YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT A "BIGHT" OR "BAY" REALLY IS.
IN YOUR BIGOTED MIND, YOU SEEM TO BELIEVE THAT THE NAME OF THE PLACE AFTER WHICH A BIGHT IS NAME MEANS THE NAME CONNOTES PRIMACY OR POLITICAL INFLUENCE OR HEGEMONY OR IN YOUR WORDS "AN EMPIRE" OVER THE AREA IN QUESTION. THIS IS LAUGHABLE. IT EXPOSES YOUR LEVEL OF IGNORANCE IF ANYTHING.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE BIGHT OF BENIN IS NOT CO-TERMINUS WITH BENIN KINGDOM OR EMPIRE.
A "BIGHT" OR "BAY" IS ACTUALLY A CURVE, ANGLE, CORNER OR BEND IN A SHALLOW COASTLINE FROM WHICH AN OCEAN GOING VESSEL COULD EASILY SAIL OUT ON A SINGLE TACK IN A SQUARE RIGGED VESSEL NOTWITHSTANDING THE DIRECTION OF THE WIND. SAILOR USUALLY IDENTIFY THESE GEOGRAPHICAL FEATURE BY GIVING A PLACE NAME CLOSEST TO IT IN THEIR NAVIGATIONAL CHARTS TO ENABLE THEM LOCATE THE PLACE EASILY WHEN THEY RETURN THERE AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, IT HELPS THEM TO AVOID SHIP WRECKS.
BECAUSE A BIGHT IS CORNER OR A BED, THE LAND-FORM OF A BIGHT ACTS AS A BULWARK AGAINST TRADE-WINDS WHICH MIGHT PREVENT A SHIP AT ANCHOR FROM WEIGHING ANCHOR.
YOU NEED TO KNOW THAT THERE ARE VARIOUS COASTLINES IN WEST AFRICA WITH THIS MARITIME FEATURE WHILE 2 (AT BENIN AND PRESENT DAY BONNY BUT WRONGLY NAMED BIAFRA AFTER A TRIBE IN PRESENT DAY CAMEROUN) ARE IN NIGERIA.
OF A FACT, BENIN TERRITORY DOES NOT ACTUALLY HAVE A COASTLINE, IT WAS LAND LOCKED WHEN THE EUROPEANS ARRIVED. THE BROUHAHA WAS THAT IT WAS THE FIRST RAIN FOREST KINGDOM TO BE DISCOVERED WHICH APPEARED URBANIZED AND HAS A STRUCTURED POLITICAL SYSTEM HEADED BY A SEMI-DIVINE KING.
HERE ARE OTHER BIGHTS WHICH HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH A KINGDOM OR EMPIRE BUT NAMED BY EXPLORERS 1. GREAT AUSTRALIAN BIGHT 2. NEW YORK BIGHT 3. ROBSON BIGHT 4.HELIGOLAND BIGHT 5. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA BIGHT 6. TRINITY BIGHT 7. SOUTH AND NORTH SARANAKI BIGHTS 8. MCKENZIE BIGHT ETC.
TO NAME THE POINT CLEARER, AS EXPLAINED ABOVE, A BIGHT IS SMALLER THAN A GULF. MANY BIGHTS CAN BE FOUND IN A GULF. THE BIGHT OF BENIN IS ONE OF THE BIGHTS WITHIN THE GULF OF GUINEA BUT THERE IS NO ANCIENT EMPIRE CALLED "GUINEA" |

As much as I enjoyed Igbo relationship in Lagos, no true son of Lagos with any sense of history will give you the opportunity Zik abused in Lagos and Ibadan. Even crying that Awolowo was a tribalist for seeing and predicting the opportunistic Igbo children today. The reference to Afonja accepting the help of Fulani to overthrow unpopular Oba is apt. Like Fulani, Igbo would demand Agbaje's head if he wins and tried to curb their excess demands. They would not tolerate their demands in their land. I cannot stand Tinubu but Igbo are so audacious, they are worse. Unfortunately, that is what a rogue like Tinubu has going for him. You have to pity Nigeria. No choice but between many evils. Amumaigwe: Who are the outsiders? Anybody living in Lagos and contributing to it's GDP is a Lagos insider. The fact that Yorubas still control the politics of Lagos is just because they are majority in the states adjoining Lagos and happened to go into politics earlier than other ethnic groups making up Lagos. But that is about to change for good.

But it is out of self interest. Until you make Igbo land attractive to others including Igbo and neighbors around you, your good points are self serving.

Chei! I just love my Igbo brothers and sisters Southeast Group Congratulates Buhari, Ask APC To Zone Senate Presidency to Igboland
written by Our Reporter February 28, 2019
A socio-political group known as South East Youths and Elders Forum has congratulated the President-elect, President Muhammadu Buhari on his victory at the polls last weekend.
In a statement released to newsmen by the group’s Director of Media and Publicity, Mazi Edwin Ikechukwu in Enugu, the group said President Muhammadu Buhari deserve the victory considering the massive infrastructural developments witnessed by the zone in the past three and half years of his presidency.
In similar vein, the group also congratulated the ruling All Progressives Congress for maintaining a clear lead among senators who will make up the 9th National Assembly.
However, the group urge the party to zone the post of the Senate President to Southeast geo-political zone since the President and his vice came from the north and south west regions.
The group also noted that since the party maintained it’s early zoning arrangements which zoned the presidency to the north, the vice presidency to the south west and senate presidency to the Southeast before the party could not produce any senator from the region in 2015 Presidential and National Assembly elections, the party should therefore make a categorical statement reaffirming it’s commitment to the zoning of the senate presidency to the Southeast region since the party now has two APC Senators from the zone.
The statement further condemned the harassment of Igbos living in Lagos State, saying political leaders from the state should come out openly to condemn the undemocratic acts of domestic terrorism against the Igbos.
