Immediately I think of Tripoli Libya, Damascus, Lebanon, Bagdad and other cities in Afghanistan, I know this is rubbish.

They go to peaceful cities, destroy them, create chaos to drive the people into desert and sea, then call them unlivable.

Maybe if they stop their economic sabotage the world would be a better place.

Imagine imposing sanctions on African countries for banning their used clothes.

I have no doubt that Nigerians are killing one another in South Africa but please, please not most of the deaths.

Nigerians kill one another in various ways: by reporting one another to police, immigration, hire South Africans to do their dirty work to hide their devilish acts and of course drug gangs taking revenge or lack of loyalty.

This Ambassador must be smoking something.

Beauty in the eye of the beholder.

There are many ladies not half as beautiful as this lady and even ughly ones too, once heavily pancaked with make up or bleached skin, men would be running after them until their child turned out like the ugly mama and papa.

This lady has exotic beauty that men that rush foreign Susies would bring home.

Have you ever wonder what those chicks you bring home would look like in chocolate color?

This lady fine for. She just has exotic look.

This idea of Oduduwa's children going back to areas they were familiar with only brings into focus the different locations of Ife from the Northern area where they met, inter-married before moving further South for safety.

Hausa history claimed Yoruba was one of the children of their historical father. Even if that is false, it showed some familiarity or awareness of one another. Not to mention Tapa, Borgu and others.

Another point that must be taken into consideration is the role of River Niger and Benue that linked to the sea in Lagos. I remember reading about Aromire and Oloko families as great sailors that fared beyond Nigeria and Africa on the sea.

If you guys take the waterway into consideration instead of the land alone, it may shed light about Oduduwa knowledge of the sea, river and Olokun.

Olu317,

Whoever wants to discuss Yoruba issues with you must be prepared.

There are stories behind Ofa and Oje that uninitiated translated to six and seven. That is just for laugh. Until I read the full history.

I also thought the Yoruba saying a slave can become a king only happened in Ibadan. Can you think of other areas in Yoruba land.

Bi ase bi erun, beni ase bi omo.

It boils down to the egalitarian culture of Yoruba. Yet, they also have this class structure along ruling house and professions.

While at this, why is Oduduwa, Adimu or Adumu common among Ijaw, West Africans, Diaspora and Yoruba?

Politics › Saraki Buhari And Co. Do Not Call The Name Of Religion And Democracy In Vain by googi(op): 4:37pm On Aug 01, 2018
Democracy Rule Of Law & Religion In Trojan Horse

How many countries in the whole wide world do you know where democracy, the rule of law and religion have ever been used to liberate Africans, especially the poor masses in Africa? Yet, the poor masses will rise up and defend African oppressors and looters by democracy and rule of law that they have never enjoyed. No, they are not insane. They are depending on promises of politicians, pastors and imams that in the year 3000, they will be liberated in paradise.

This is similar to the pledges made to our fathers by the British, the French and the Portuguese. They were asked to join the Army in order to fight for freedom against Hitler in Europe when they were not free at home themselves. As good Christians and Muslims, Arabs and Europeans are still asking us to fight Jihad and Crusade in the name of God.

However, one of the virtue of true democracy is when you see the highly placed, the rich and the powerful fighting for the rule of law and the Right of the poor masses. In many African countries and Nigeria in particular, we are witnessing the opposite trend. We are being told that until our own looters and oppressors are accorded the rule of law, the poor masses that make up the majority of Africans are not going to be free. Yeah right, tell the Libyans that!

Supporters of Buhari and Jonathan have lost their sense of sanity. Whenever the Looters fight, it is the poor masses that cry the loudest for the rule of law and democracy they hardly know. We forget that Swahili proverb that when elephants fight, it is the grass that suffers. We see politicians divide income within themselves from our resources and celebrate together. But during the elections, they send us out for fight for them even at the cost of our lives.

What is the poor masses’ business or gain, you might ask. They believe in promises and aspire to replace the politicians one day and be in a position to scoop their own loot with the hope that, they too could be in the positions to bribe police and judges that would set them free.

However, whenever looters win, it is the country that loses; that is us, you and I. The more loses and defeats obtained in our courts, the better for individual looters’ notion of the rule of law and democracy that cheat us of our fair share. Stop blaming prosecutors for fixed cases. When oppressors, cheats and dishonest politicians and their cronies get the lion share, the majority of the masses get crumbs that cannot create infrastructure, feed them and their families.

Have you come to realize that those who preach democracy, the rule of law and religion conned us in Africa? Not only did they promise it would take Africa to paradise, they are the worst practitioner of their own teachings. Yet, they never fail to sanction or even wage war on those that deviate from what they preach to the rest of the world. Anytime anyone ever tell you about saner climes again, ask him where and for who?

While young Africans are beginning to understand the hypocrisy and fallacy of religions used to bind and bond our grandfathers, many in the older generation, those in hardship, need or neglect are still stuck in the belief that there is democracy from a distant land that can liberate them from their misery. Mind you, we are all vulnerable to other means, especially if we have done everything in our power to succeed and failed.

This is when we believe that the witches from the village have something to do with our misfortune. When we seek deliverance from local prophets and imams exploiting our weaknesses, we start looking for foreign doctrines and gods. Before then, ritualists and fake prophets must have done their numbers on us. There are highly educated folks, even specialist in different fields, when they encounter sickness, fall to the whims and caprices of miracle men.

When practitioners of these amorphous doctrines are in the majority anywhere, democracy is the standard as long as it works for them. Once they feel threatened by the numbers of others they do not consider to be their own, they exploit all kinds of ways to reduce their voting blocs by delineating areas they can still win. Call it gerrymandering, votes redistribution area or voters intimidation by putting up obstacles that make it difficult or inconvenient to vote. Others used Electoral College. Are these the people we copy?

African countries are not the only place the masses are manipulated but it is the only continent that has not produced a single successful black nation. Unfortunately, for no other reason than the domestication of the masses to the whims and caprices of their oppressors. Supporters of Buhari and Jonathan in Nigeria have lost sanity crying over what has never benefited them.

If Africans do not like the way they are treated outside because they are denied fair process, the rule of law and democracy enjoyed by others, they need to establish one from their culture where Igbo have no king or Oyo Cabinet system. Until we do, foreign countries would throw it in our faces that we cannot govern ourselves. If it is not true, we would not be running to their countries where we sell ourselves cheap, crossing desert and sea at the cost of our lives.

We have more Senators and politicians on mega salaries than United Sates. Africans, no matter where you are inside or outside Africa, must be careful when you espouse the same principle that they are going to use to crucify you. Never forget your own people that are less fortunate because of your temporary state of euphoria. It can disappear at the slightest miscalculation, change of fortune or opportunity they can seize on, to nail you onto the cross.

Moreover, this mumurism has gone on for so long that sane rational people that would want to help, fear the same poor masses turning on them. If Africans are not willing to help themselves, nobody would. There is no amount of riches we could steal from Africans that would buy us the respect and freedom we deserve, even after all our achievement and contributions abroad.

If you think this is solely about black and white, you are wrong. The people you consider your own have studied the best way to make you accept their oppression and read books that claim that the more deprived you are the more dependent and obedient you are to them. It is not by accident that those who oppressed the masses are loved if they ration needs like food, shelter and desire to them. They lounge for more from wherever each comes from.

Some hamburgers are so large, you cannot wrap your fingers around them. If you do, you will make a mess of your clothes.

In those cases, cut them with knife and fork into little pieces like wraps served as cocktail or snacks parties.

It may be difficult though to eat spare ribs with knife and fork, especially with bone in them. If it's all meat, you can still pick them up with fork.

I remember asking for a fork to eat rice at my friend's place. He got mad.

But is easier because you can pick up meat as well, instead of using spoon to pick up meat and vegetables.

It is free style these day. Whatever you feel comfortable with. Some people do not want to ask for water to wash their hands, so they use fork and knife for pounded yam.

Are Libyans better off today with your rule of law and democracy?

Tell us in which country where democracy and the rule of law guaranteed the the rights of people that look like you and I.

Democracy is a word used by capitalist and communist to justify their system. In one of them, minority won.

If you love the rule of law, start with the defenceless, the poor and the masses. Not with the privileged few that loot the daylight out of you.

If they fight stay out and let them knock one another.

May be God is finally coming down from heaven where revolution starts with the looters.

Devise your own system of government and stop copy-copy without any idea of what they mean .

Better still try Igbo-have-no-king or Oyo cabinet system. That is if you know what they mean as an expert on democracy.

Well well, some Nigerians do the same. But God bless Jakande for his free education that liberated many of them:

Trafficked, beaten and abused: The life of a Nigerian house girl

Handed over by her mother to an agent at the age of 10, Titi was crammed into a truck in the tiny West African nation of Benin and driven across the border into south west Nigeria.

Titi feared the worst. She recalled how a previous employer in Nigeria had welcomed her with a thin mat and a leather whip.

“Sometimes, she beat us,” said Titi, recounting the businesswoman who had flogged the girls for the smallest mishaps, such as breaking a plate.

Bed had been the floor.

“Sometimes, she didn't give us breakfast till after 1pm,” Titi, now 14, told the Thomson Reuters Foundation from Lagos, where she works for a “nicer” family – cleaning, cooking and caring for children for 18 hours a day.

Abused African Ladies Cry Out For Rescue In Saudi Arabia

News about domestic helps abuse in Saudi have been around for a while but they are mostly from Pilipino house helps. There was a report about abuse of Kenyan women as far back as 2015 that was reported locally and on BBC. The bad news we get from Saudi Arabia are from Africans on pilgrimage and some abusing their visa to commit deplorable crimes, especially Nigerians despite the severe punishment of beheading.

Nigerians young ladies and other Africans are crying out from Saudi Arabia! These are young women that neither had any desire to sell their bodies by taking oath nor did they swear at the shrine in order to become prostitutes. They paid agents good money with the hope of securing decent jobs in Saudi Arabia. Unfortunately, ladies include very young girls let go by unscrupulous parents. There are African agents in many cities including Abuja, Accra and Nairobi recruiting domestic helps into Saudi Arabia as slaves.

https://www.thenigerianvoice.com/news/268260/abused-african-ladies-cry-out-for-rescue-in-saudi-arabia.html#

These young ladies are sending chilling cries back home begging for their rescue. Most African countries used to send their youths to Nigeria as varieties of helps including light skin Arab beggars on our streets from North Africa in the eighties. There were so many in Lagos willing to do anything including young girls getting pregnant for touts and area boys, until Action Governor Lateef Jakande declared free primary school for everyone.

Yes, some of us may still remember that some parents were mad at Jakande because they could not find house helps. They preferred free education. This has now become ancient history. It was Libya that caught our attention during the civil war when Gadhafi and the rebels were using Africans as mercenaries. Not only did these Africans pay dearly when caught by both sides, so were Libyan blacks mistaken for African blacks.

Abuse of domestic helps in Saudi Arabia is not new. The Philippine Government had to step in to stop their women from sexual, physical and mental abuse prompting Saudi Government to punish only the most egregious offenders. Cries coming from Saudi Arabia are now those of African ladies used as slaves in many of their homes.

Saudi Arabia is not Libya. Many African Muslims see Mecca as a “Holy Land”. There were reports at one time of stranded African women during their pilgrimage to Mecca turning to prostitutes to fend for themselves. These young ladies are not part of them.

In the case of Libya, the attention and outrage over Africans’ plight shamed Nigeria, Ghana and other countries to send chartered planes to Libya to bring Africans home.

Saudi Arabia nko? Who is going to deliver domestic house slaves from Saudi Arabia? In the first place, unscrupulous recruiters or agents must be treated like recruiters of young girls for prostitution in Europe. A curse on them by traditional ruler is not enough. Agents demand heavy amount from these young ladies promising training, good jobs and benefits. Only to turn around and demand more from their Saudi employers or masters.

The ill-treatment and sexual slavery Saudi subjected African ladies to have a long history within the Arabian countries. These girls are now begging anyone that can rescue them to please come to their aid and pressure African countries to bring them home. There is certainly enough fault on their part for falling into these hopeless schemes in the first place; paying agents money that could have been used to start their businesses at home.

If it was only Africans young ladies that were testifying to rape, sleep deprivation and physical abuse in Saudi Arabia, we may want to doubt them because these Saudi Arabians are good Muslims. However, there are enough cries from others indicating the most inhuman treatment by these Saudi men, their sons and wives against domestic helps treated as slaves.

There was a woman from Kurigram in northern Bangladesh that went to Saudi Arabia hoping to make money as a housemaid. She became pregnant after she was raped by her employer. This particular lady had to take shelter at the Bangladesh embassy in Riyadh before she was sent back home, broken into pieces for life! They are usually blamed and punished for seducing their Saudi employers and their sons.

Even US-based Human Rights Watch (HRW) condemned a Saudi Arabian court decision to drop charges against an employer accused of abusing an Indonesian maid so severely that she lost her fingers and toes in 2009. They are the victims that come to the attention of others. Some lost their lives, buried shamelessly, without outside witness.

Whatever, Arabs are not very fair to Africans from time memorial. We do not have to go back to the history of Africans in Basra, Iraq. The fact is that Government of Philippine had to re-evaluate and discourage their women with visa from going to Arab countries as domestic helpers and actually brought others home. It speaks against the Arabs that spread religion and piety in Africa. This is the other side of devilish act .

Few African leaders care very little about their own citizens in Saudi Arabia as the Filipino President. If they do, these demeaning exodus from our countries would have been at a minimum. The rate some of our youths pay to get out taking their chances and knowing the odds against them is pitiful. It shows how far some of us are going to make money by selling our youths, anyway possible.

We think people can be wicked to one another but Saudi Arabia stories can be most shocking as in a case that came out in 2014 when a Sri Lankan maid returned from Saudi Arabia with 24 nails inside her body. The woman alleged that her Saudi employer had tortured her and drove nails into her body as punishment.

There are more, not only from Africans but in another incident, Indonesian housemaid Sumiati Binti Mustapa, 23, was severely beaten by her Saudi employer who put a hot iron to her head , mutilated her with scissors and left her with broken bones and internal bleeding in 2010. The offender was later sentenced to three years jail.

The Africans have certain infatuation with Arabs dating back to the times of Ghana, Songhai and Kanem Bornu Empires. While there were mutual trade and respect for one another, the leaders of these African Empires accepted the Muslim religion half-heartedly. It was not out of conviction but to protect their boundaries from wars and raiders that eventually brought down the last African Empire..
