I usually try to avoid food from northern Nigeria or prepared by northerners for personal reasons. But it most noted that I enjoy Suya and kilishi.
The reason are avoid their food is largely as a result of hygiene. On two occasions I ate fried yam, I had severe runny stomach ( diarrhea).
Another time I saw a mallam washing fresh meat meant for Suya in a puddle of water that overflowed a gutter after a heavy downpour. I saw this with my eyes and was shocked.
