Many a time, we tend to bring our earthly intelligence into spiritual and sensitive matters such as this tithe issue.
@poster, your tithe belongs to the man of God, not the orphanage, i pity some of you here who talk anyhow against God's anointed(pastors and othe clergy men)
in the days of moses, you dare not open your buccal cavity and say rubbish against God's servant.
Fine, you may receive the blessings if you pay your tithe to the orphanage, but not as bountiful as you will receive if You obey God's command and pay it to your pastor.
The store house is the house of God and your pastor is who God has planted in the store house.

Anyway, the greatest man of God that would have received tithe is JESUS but he never did. Another man of God like him would be the Apostles, even Paul, but they never did. I don't know where you get your statement from? There is a place for supporting the man of God and work of God in the bible, it is called FREE WILL GIVING as every man proposed in his heart, let him give. And where did you get your interpretation that house of God is store house? You must really be a good bible student. If u ar not comfortable payin tithe in one Church, look for another Church and pay your tithe. Then, if you really have a heart of giving, you can give out the remaining 90% to the poor, needy and destitute. And I hope you would be consistent with it!

Sammy79: In the Old Testament, God 'owns' 10% but in the New Testament, He 'owns' 100%. What therefore matters most is that you give as He directs you. In the NT, we are stewards of God's 'entire' blessings and resources and they are to be used as He bids/leads you cheerfully. So whether you give to orphanages or widows or church or a needy friend, do so as you feel God leading you and do not 'cap' or limit your giving to 10%.

May your generations prosper beyond limit for the above statement. People just need to come out of religious spirit and come to be led by the spirit of God. Thank you once again.

I am a living testimony a (Tither) for that matter and I am reaping it bountifully, God has really blessed me in so many ways. I got many contracts in an office I did not know anybody, I send my tithes an errand whenever its due for payment, and its pay off, let other know this and be a partaker of God blessing. Indeed God had freely given us ALL things. You are still standing while God had moved.

How do we receive what had already being GIVEN to us?

Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. Luke 6:38 KJV

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: Matt 7:7 KJV

The blessing of good measure, pressed down and shaking together is no more in tithing, it is in GIVING. Remember, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John is not the begining of new testament. Jesus was instituting orders that will take effect after he died and become a new testament practice, so he instituted GIVING. Where is this new testament of giving after Matthew to John?

But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. 2 Cor 9:6-7

Our Reward for giving

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: 2 Cor 9:8 KJV

Tithing doesn't work BUT GIVING DOES:

The bible does not anywhere equate giving tithe with giving to the poor or giving offerings. That is one major lesson anyone who is well versed in scripture would know. God addresses Israel in the book of Malachi:

And then the priests:

Mal 2:1 And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you.


Who is addressed here? Israel or the priests?

Mal 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

It's obviously the priests who should bring ALL the tithes into the storehouse. But if you have doubts:

Neh 10:38 And the priest the son of Aaron shall be with the Levites, when the Levites take tithes: and the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes unto the house of our God, to the chambers, into the treasure house.

The thieves who were robbing God were the priests who were not bringing all the tithes into the storehouse so that they may be meat for whom?

Mal 3:5 And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.

You seem not to even understand where 'pay' tithe was used and where 'give' and there uses in context. Bible tithes as spitulated by God is not money but money exist in those days. Biblical tithes are from agricultural product and must be given to levites. levites no longer exist since only that tribe was ordained by God to receive tithe. Jesus cannot receive tithes because he was from the tribe of Judah. None of the apostles preached or received tithes. Apostle Paul wrote 2-3rd of d New testament, he didnt talk abt tithes. The only time he talked abt tithe was refering to how Abraham gave tithes to Melchizedek in heb 7, and he talked to abolish it since there is a change in the other of priesthood.

Many so called Christians do even know what they talk about. Bible says 'storehouse', you say house of God. They r not the same. We only have one instruction in the new testament, GIVING. Tithes had been abolished.

Who was God talking to in this verse? Who was the man God who refering to? Go study the whole of Malachi from chapter one n come back to answer the question. Malachi had being taken out of context to FRAUD GOD'S ON TITHE.

Some men of God don't stop to bit my understanding of the word of God. Where in the bible can we find "Leap" Seed sowing or "Leap" anointing? Oh, this year, February ends 29 and we have this year as leap year right? But the date of the service says March 6, '12 (3-6-12).

This is what happens in the body of Christ when people don't know the word of God. "Leap" seed, "Leap" Anointing = Another Gospel. They catch people's emotion, the people get carried away and then comes the "Leap" seed for "Leap" Anointing. Shm.

Characteristics of personal and religious hypocrisy

It corrupts our conscience, substitutes the ceremonial/formal for the personal/practical experience with God and His word. Matt 15:6.

It uses ecclesiastical rule as a substitute for judgment and the love of God. Luke 11:42

It cannot receive the truth because its eye is on man and not on God. John 5:44

It makes inquiries not in order to hear the truth but in order to refute the truth. John 9:27-28

It is chained to its error by a confident assurance that it alone is right. John 9:41

It is a foe of all truth, a special sense of the child of fathers of all lies. John 8:44.

It is the pharisaical nature that neither entered the kingdom nor allowed others to enter. Matt 16:3, Luke 11:52

It is the opposite of that singleness of the eye which fills the whole body with light; it turns the light in a man to darkness.

It is attempting to serve two masters, really serves none

It sees the splinters in its brother’s eye while ignoring beams in its own eyes.

Cure for Hypocrisy

Hypocrisy can only be cure through a direct denunciation in the presence of God, in the light of the word of God and through prayers.

Let me help you a little more. Flesh is a symbol of carnality and fish is a symbol of fruitfulness and multiplication. You will recall that Jesus fed five thousand with five loaves of bread and two fishes. You will also recall that the works of the flesh are manifest in Gal 5:19 KJV. Outside of the cross, our only symbol of Christianity is the fish (fruitfulness and multiplication) while our flesh/self is to be crucified with Christ. When this is not done, the only thing we portray to the world is “Dagon” nature. How? Am glad you asked.

Since Dagon is one thing, an idol but having two contradictory nature. The nature of human and the nature of animal. Dagon was carrying the nature of flesh and also the nature of fish. A carnal nature and a fruitful nature. Same Dagon, acting as flesh and acting as fish. Today, many of us Christians are like Dagon.

One day we act like a believer, another day we act like unbelievers/idolatrous generation.
One day we are seen in church, another day we are seen in shrines with herbalists.
One day we talk like we are children of God, another day we talk like the children of the world.
One day we walk by faith, another day we walk by flesh.
One day we are in the word, another day we are in the world.
One day people see us in our churches as saints, another day people see in the world as sinners and in most cases, people can’t even differentiate us from worldly people.
On Sundays we act godly but on facebook we demonstrate ungodliness, people only know we are Christians when we are in the church.

We have Dagon in our lives, churches, on our pulpits and everywhere.

The closest resemblance of Dagon by revelation is the word, HYPOCRISY/HYPOCRITES. God is not pleased with Dagon, in the presence of the Ark of covenant. Hence, God knocked down the hypocritical nature of Dagon. Christianity today is in a state where 50% or more are hypocrites. God is calling us to order.

It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter. Pro. 25:2 KJV

What is Dagon? What does Dagon symbolize in our lives and in the entire body of Christ? The Bible says, God conceal a thing but it is the honour of kings to search out a matter. A thing is conceal but a matter is searched out of a thing that is concealed. It’s a matter of revelation. The bible says, “He had made us (the church) kings and priest unto our God. Rev 1:6 KJV. Hence part of our functions as the church is to search out a matter (revelation) out of the thing which God had concealed.

God wasn’t the one that created Dagon but the Philistines and we have established who the Philistines are. The only thing God did in the above scripture in 1 Samuel 5 was to knock down Dagon. As I began to search out the deep matter of this thing called Dagon, the Lord showed me this revelation. To the Philistines, Dagon was an idol but to the church, it is a concealed thing.

Dagon is an idol having from the waist part to the upper part as flesh and the from the waist part to the lower part as fish. Dagon was constantly knocked down by God in the presence of the Ark of covenant. This is more than the fact that Dagon was just an idol. This is based on the revelation that Dagon was half flesh and half fish.

When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon. And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the LORD. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again. And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him. Therefore neither the priests of Dagon, nor any that come into Dagon's house, tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod unto this day. 1 Samuel 5:1-5 KJV

The Ark of covenant (symbolic of our presence of/with God) was captured by the Philistines (our self wallowing) and was brought into the house of Dagon, the chief god of the Philistines. God is showing us another revelation and prophetic message here. Dagon is the “chief god” of the philistines who are also the greatest enemies of Israel and we have seen from above that we (the church, Christians, believers and the body of Christ) are the Israel of God today. I submit to you, people of God that when our relationship with the presence of God is captured by our Philistines (Self wallowing), the only thing that surface to the entire world is “Dagon”.
