Tinax: HIM WHO HAVE EAR LET HIM HEAR.
So many have been bondaged with the spirit of paying tithe. If you see what these so calld pastors do behind curtain, you'll weep.
THE TRUTH IS, IT'S NOT TODAY OR NOW THAT PEOPLE'S MIND HAD BEEN WORKED ON AND SECRETLY/SYSTEMATICALLY MANIPULATED. IT'S BEING DONE LONG TIME AGO.

emmanuelhart55: Pls u guys shuld live my pastor alone, the bible says we are the head and not the tale, we will lend to many nations and not to borrow. Is dat not obvious that the words of God is coming to fulfilment glory.
How many nations have your lent to? You seems not to understand the fulfilment of that bible verse you just quoted. Just quote scriptures but don't understand it all. The bible explains itself not our private or personal interpretation. If you don't mind, let's interpret that bible verse using another bible verse to get the meaning of the one you quoted.

Gaskia: Wealth is neutral. It could be turned by man to evil or good. There is nothing wrong with acquiring waelth. Depending on how it's acquired, the motive , how it s used and it controls the owner or how the owner controls it.
On the university, we need more ppl yo invest in education but should be made affordable to many... the missionaries schools were affordable to many.
A situation where a peolple who contribute the tithes and special offering that gave rise to the university are systematically denied access to same school throgh high fees is unacceptable.
The Dominion Air if not registered as an asset of the Church and if the ownership structure of the church is still tied strongly to oyedepo and his family, then this is evil.
If the ownership of the church has been depersonalized and the Airline made to provide fund for the church and assist her members financially, provide money to subsidize the school fees and allow the poor to attend, then it's godly.
Anything short is cunning and evil.
YOUR CHILDREN TO THE TENTH GENERATION SHALL BE BLESSED FOR YOUR COMMENTS. THIS IS WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT. NOBODY ENVY HIS WEALTH.

Stay on board n argue your course. Nobody says him wealthy is not biblical. What we r saying is secretly using church people to acquire wealth n stylishly converting it into family establishments. Using church people to acquire wealth, converted to family establishments. That is the point. Wake up.

beylinko: can u substantiate that. Who told u that was d reason d pastor resigned?
The truth is, he said so that when he dies, his son will be the G.O. Does that make it a church or family business/establishments? We do not have such practices in the bible where church is patterned after family establishments, using people to make family investments. This is what all this show is all about, nothing more.

pd piper pippen: That fact of ur perpetual poverty is no reason to wish another who is prospering ill, oyedepo has a new airline good, why not celeberate with those who celeberate tmro it might be u we will celeberate.
Is this kind part of Jesus' commission to the world? Or does owning university part of Jesus' commission? Not to talk of members not being able to afford tuition? Does patterning the church after the order of the world or after the order of family business part of Jesus' commission? Doesn't it matter how we make wealth even though we gather wealth from church members and secretly turn it into family establishments?

God had moved, stop standing still.

The greatest disease of mankind is being veiled in the spiritual and inability to SEE CLEARLY WHEN AND WHERE GOD HAD MOVED. GOD HAD MOVED AND IS MOVING BUT MANY CHRISTIANS VEILED IN THE SPIRIT REALM ARE STANDING STILL INSTEAD OF MOVING WITH GOD, THROUGH GOD, FOR GOD AND IN GOD.

Decode my words.
Christianity EtcRe: God's Moral Law by Goshen360(m): 2:55pm On Mar 24, 2012
Lol, I like the way you always ensnare yourself with your own words. Now if these laws were for a school master that brings us to Christ, what happens now that we hv come to Christ? Or after we have come to Christ? You don't seems to understand that God had changed dispensations. Do you?

OLAADEGBU: The Moral law (Decalogue) is;

#1. A schoolmaster pointing us to Christ.

#2. Not a means of salvation but rules for guidance to measure our conformity to God's holiness.

#3. Unalterable and remain in force today. Matt.5:17. (Remember God wrote it with His own finger) wink

#4. A hedge to keep us within the bounds of sobriety and piety.

I had to lol first. I was supposed to reply Ola last night immediately after his thread but was going to bed. Thank God you did a good job replying him first. He didn't give us the total counsel regarding those moral laws but at least you added many for him. Let's wait for him to explain if he didn't know about these ones you added or he intentionally ignored them, lol.
Christianity EtcRe: Bible Study On Nairaland - The New Testament by Goshen360(op): 1:54pm On Mar 22, 2012
@ Everyone,

This is what we are going to do. Please everybody to permit me for this decision please. We will start with topical studies first and see how it goes. If we always end up fighting or can't agree the word of God, then we can always switch back to book/chapter/verse studies. I agree with Zikkyy that I might end up doing book/chapter/verse alone though it's the best way to study but I want to carry everyone, i mean everyone along. So Let's start with topical study for now and let's see how it goes.

Knight1 had also suggested I take this first honour to suggest the first topic. I guess we might end up rotating the topic weekly. One topic per week from each person. Our weekly topic will always start every Monday with a new topic and end on Sundays.

Does this sound good to all of us? If this is okay. I will suggest the first topic soon so it can start by Monday for discussion.

Thank you all for your eagerness for the word of truth. God bless you all.

Christianity EtcRe: Examples Of Apostle Paul conviniently ignored By preachers/pastors today. by Goshen360(m): 3:44am On Mar 22, 2012
OLAADEGBU: How did you know that God did not command him to tithe? Afterall the Bible said that Abraham obeyed the commandments and laws of God. And he was not forced to obey the voice of God, he did it voluntarily.
Oga sir, why are you contradicting yourself? Hmnn, WHY? I mean seriously WHY? Read what you typed over again. Abraham obeyed the commandments and laws of God, he was not forced, HE DID IT VOLUNTARILY. SERIOUSLY? You need to go back to the basic sir, am so sorry.

It's either he did it voluntarily and God didn't speak to him or God spoke to him and he obey. You cannot voluntarily do what God commands. Voluntarily is my personal decision. Okay, If you say God told him to Abraham to pay tithe as even suppose the voluntary you said, THEN DO US A HONOUR AND SHOW US WHERE IT WAS TOLD OR COMMANDED TO ABRAHAM WHERE GOD TOLD HIM TO PAY TITHE. REMEMBER ABRAHAM WAS ALREADY RICH BEFORE HE GAVE TITHE TO MELCHIZEDEK AND NO WHERE ARE WE TOLD IT WAS BY PAYING TITHE THAT HE BECAME RICH.

AGAIN, YOU ARE CAUGHT UP IN YOUR OWN WORDS OR WEB. PLEASE SHOW US WHERE ABRAHAM WAS COMMANDED TO TITHE SIR OR FOREVER REMAIN A CERTIFIED SCRIPTURE TWISTING TEACHER.

WE ARE WAITING FOR YOUR EXPLANATION.
Christianity EtcRe: Jesus Is The Fulfillment Of The Law (tithing), Do I Still Need To Tithe? by Goshen360(m):
OLAADEGBU: You missed the point. The Scripture you have up their interpretes itself. You see Paul there quoting the Mosaic Law and using it in the NT. When he said the labourer is worthy of his reward that was our Lord Jesus Christ that he quoted, and who did Jesus say those words to?
Oga sir, The above bolded in red, you just made my point and caught up in your own web, lol.

"For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood". Heb 9:16-18 KJV

Verily Verily I say unto you, the above verse by same Apostle Paul also explain ITSELF EVEN VERY CLEARLY. CAN YOU DO US A HONOUR BY INTERPRETING HEB 9:16-18 ELSE YOU WILL BE GUILTY OF HYPOCRISY.
Christianity EtcRe: Bible Study On Nairaland - The New Testament by Goshen360(op):
@ Seyibrown,

Exactly my thought. Honestly, for me, the best way to do good bible study without rushing anything is chapter by chapter of a book and explaining verse by verse. This will be done daily not weekly meaning,we are learning daily, not weekly and we will have in-depth understanding of each verse. But still, I have to carry everyone along. I can't do it alone by myself and I honestly know we will be slowed down deciding which topic to teach weekly. We need to move on pls. Let's look into this matter critically please. More advice please. Thanks
Christianity EtcRe: Bible Study On Nairaland - The New Testament by Goshen360(op):
@ Zikky,

Thanks for your input. I really appreciate it. God bless you. One thing I want us to decide is who do we select or agree on a topic to teach on? Everyone is going to come up with a topic bothering him or her, how do we treat everyone fairly is my concern about the topical teaching. I don't have problem doing topical at all. Am in for anything we decide. Already the poll supports topical but like you said,we might not be treating anything new but it doesn't matter, the word of God is never old,we can learn more. So how do you think we go about this issue of picking what topic to discuss? Do we make it alphabetically or we rotate the selection? If we can decide this issue, we are good to go my brother. Am not discouraged,I really want us as children of God not just to come online and do unfruitful things but to use it as opportunity to grow in God's word.

Let me hear your feedback please. Thanks

This is one problem we are going to be facing with topical studies, the ability to determine which topic to teach. I hope we re-visit out thought and simple consider chapter by chapter as it collaborates with verses. Guys, let's do this together and let's put our resources and knowledge together to teach God's word. It will go a long way correcting false teachings. Thank you all.

Christianity EtcRe: Examples Of Apostle Paul conviniently ignored By preachers/pastors today. by Goshen360(m): 2:33pm On Mar 21, 2012
OLAADEGBU: To get it right you have to start from the Melchizedek who received tithes of Abraham. Levi was said to have paid tithes in Abraham who obeyed the commandments and laws of God.
When false teachers of tithe does such teachings, there will always be holes in such false tithe teachings. You teachers of tithes say we should tithe from our personal income but Abraham tithe to Melchizedek is from war spoil. Abraham gave all and not tithe. If we must tithe today using Abraham as example, then it must be from war spoil not out personal income and besides, he gave all. The bible says in Hebrews that Levi gave tithe while still in Abraham body and also same Chapter of Hebrew say, because there is change in the priesthood, THERE MUST ALSO BE A CHANGE OF LAW. The priesthood of Jesus after the order of Melchizedek is not scripture that supports tithing but rather showing a better high priest. Paul was only referring to the account in Genesis to explain the better Priesthood of Jesus, not to support tithing. We all know that Jesus came from the tribe of Judah not Levi. So if we have Jesus as high priest to support tithe and it is only Levi that are commanded to take tithe, then the scripture breaks itself as Jesus comes from Judah.
Christianity EtcRe: Jesus Is The Fulfillment Of The Law (tithing), Do I Still Need To Tithe? by Goshen360(m): 2:11pm On Mar 21, 2012
OLAADEGBU: I will rather you go to the Author and Finisher of our faith to see how He properly interpreted His Word.
lol. But you can perfectly interpret, "Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine. For the scripture saith, thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward" (1 Timothy 5:17-18 ) without going to the Author and Finisher of our faith? lol. This is strange and serious. Maybe I can interpret the verse for you if you care. If you dont care, let's look at the tithing issue from Abraham as you said. Waiting for you to start it up bro.
