To understand the new, better covenant or testament, you need to read the old. Please study the word is deeper than just reading. I hv shown you from the word of God that old testament ordinances and practices are no longer needed in the new, tithe is one of them. Please study God word by yourself, it is obvious you are only feeding from your pastor if you can say Jesus taught tithe. We are only teaching ourselves, it's no beef at all. God bless you sir |

When "Aaron and Joshua" labour together with these church founders and all next we see is, the son or wife comes to take over. Can this be God telling them to hand over to their son or wife? leki2: how can you quote bible and still be in denial. Na you sabi. That people who don't tithe are financially well doing does that mean that you shouldn't tithe? The bible says that the wealth of a sinner is laid up for the just. I'd believe that you just have the logos but you lack the rhema word. These things can not be explained to you because you are trying to decode this message by flesh. So I'd rather save my time because you have seared your heart to sound teaching. There is enough bible quotes above in sound posts to testify but you have chosen to be ignorant. It is like a fool who says there is no God. It's your choice, it's your life. I'm blessed and i'm being a blessing. My obedience to God's word works for me. The focus is not the money but my faith in God.First of all, Le'me tell you I am a Born Again christian. I desire to be a teacher of God's truthful word and also be in ministry at the time of life. What you understand shouldn't be too hard or difficult to explain. It's not about wasting your time, you can teach me if you are sure of what you know and let's look at it together explaining to ourselves. I have only told you what works and not your tithe by simply telling you how other unbelievers are rich without paying tithe because you said it was your tithe that brought blessings to you. And the wealth of the sinners laid for the just? As in seriously? You are taking that verse out of context ma and it obvious. Well, if you care that I take you out of religious spirit, feel free to talk to me but if not, God bless you. ^^^ Thanks. I will soon start a 2 months or more teachings on tithe, as God willing and permit me. It's all about explaining bible verse using bible verses and not using my own words and also we explain bible in context. Preachers had taken God's word out of context and distorted the truth. God took away tithing and established giving principles. Infact, if 10% is the only thing you give to God, then your salvation is questionable. Many people when Jesus will appear in front of their house in the form of an homeless, hungry and poor man, many of these religious folks will never recognise him because they will say, I have given my tithe to the church. We need to worship God in spirit and in truth (not lies, ignorance and falsehood). Doing this is to amount to religious ceremony. God bless you. |

leki2: I normally don't comment in forums but i just want to say this to folks who say tithing was given in law. No! You are wrong. Tithe started before the law by Abraham. I wouldn't want to start preaching, but don't flatter to deceive yourselves that tithing is not in the new testament. The word of God is the word of God. Don't compromise when it's difficult. How can you pay your tithe to your brother? Tithe is 10%. Give it to God then give your brother your 90% remaining income if you really want to help him. Gosh! Which church do you attend at all. What are you been taught there? Trust God in obedience. He can do much more than you can imagine for your brother. At times as this, i'd hav to tel you it is a test of your committment. Pass this test and see what God will do. Don't pay your tithe religiously. But do it with a surety He said in His word that you should prove him this day. I trust you know the right thing to do.Am very sure you too are quoting what your pastor said, you are not a bible student yourself. When tithe started from Abraham, it was carried into the time of the Levites as pointed to in the book of Hebrews 7. Go read it and come back to teach us. It has being abolished. Read Hebrews chapter 7 and 8. It explains itself. Should you need more explanations, please come back and we will look at it together. God took away tithing and demanded us free will giving. |

Recently, I began to observe this moves of Pentecostal and Word of Faith Preachers in the body of Christ, as founders of a particular local church installs their relative (spouse or son) in anticipation of their death. I began to search the scriptural basis for such replacement after them but I found none in the word of God. To add to my quest, I recently watched a well respected WoF teacher here in the United States stylishly and officially installing his son to take after him as he is currently old. This left me in a questioning state of mind so i decided to bring it on board for discussion. This practices has become the common practices of modern day Pentecostal and WoF preachers and it's spreading like a virus within the body of Christ. I have always believed the church belongs to Jesus who is the head of the church and He (Jesus) had appointed men for positions of authority and ruler-ship in the church. Also, I believe the NT gave us a pattern of appointing leaders for succession in the church and this pattern must be followed. Let's share our views on this crucial matter in the body of Christ. |

Now that we have come to Christ, consider all the verses below and what it means: Matthew 5:17-18 and John 17:4 Fulfilled Romans 7:4 Dead to the Law Romans 7:6 Delivered from the Law Romans 10:4 and 2 Cor 3:13 Ended 2 cor 3:7,11,14 Done away with the Law Galatians 3:13, 23-24 Redeemed from the law, No longer under the law Gal 4:30; John 8:35 It is cast out Ephesians 2:15, 2 cor 3:13 Abolished Colossians 2:14 Blotted out Heb 7:12, 18 Changed, Disannulled Heb 8:7, 13 Replaced and Vanished away Heb 10:9; Col 2:14 Taken away. @ Emylexray, I guess you are preaching or saying what you are told in your church. If you are bible student, you will know for yourself that tithing is not part of the NT Christianity and if you have to tithe under the OT, it's not monetary. Prove me wrong sir. |

You probably still don't get what am saying. Le'me break it down. Supernaturals are given to affirm a messages of God by God's messenger. When God send a messenger, in order for the people to believe the messenger, God proves it by the supernatural. So, had God given you a message? If we define the supernatural, it means anything that breaks the natural laws such as, walking on water, human being flying by his/herself, planting a seed now and it grows now etc. The bible had completed the message(s) of God to mankind and I submit to you that we/you don't need the supernatural anymore and you can't have it. lol.[/size] |

Let me show you a revelation here by the enabling Spirit of the Living God, You remember the mount of transfiguration where Moses and Elijah appear to Jesus. Jesus was transfigured in the presence of His disciples. What is the revelation behind this account? Moses represent the LAW. Elijah represent the Prophet, not just anyhow Prophet but prophet of fire. Jesus represent Grace. When God spoke from heaven, God didn't say listen to Moses neither did He say listen to Elijah but He said, listen to Jesus, His beloved son. Folks that prays for their enemies to die don't have understanding. Enemies are part of God plan for our lives and ask them, since they have being calling down, fire to come on their enemies, how many fire had come down and how many of their enemies had died? We have ONLY one enemy, SATAN the devil and he only manifest secondarily using human beings. I hope this is okay for you. I learnt God made everything in "twos". [size=13pt]@ OP, You will notice it's only when it comes to tithe that all these verses from OLD TESTAMENT are pull up. I am doing a comprehensive teachings on tithe and will take up to 2 months or more to finish it here on NL considering questions and answers. It's all about using the bible to explain the bible and interpreting the bible in CONTEXT. Stone your rebellious sons to death, they will tell you we are under the grace and not under the Law so we cannot do that anymore. Why is it ONLY tithe they STILL STICK to in the Old Testament? Why? But the tithe teachers will never let you see or want you to see this verse in Deuteronomy 14:21-29 nkjv but am not quoting all here, you can read for yourself: v22: "You shall truly tithe all the increase of your grain that the field produces year by year. v23: "And you shall eat before the LORD your God, in the place where He chooses to make His name abide, the tithe of your grain and your new wine and your oil, of the firstborn of your herds and your flocks, that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always. The biblical tithe as you can see IF TRULY NEEDS TO BE PRACTICED SHOULD BE FROM FARM PRODUCE NOT MONEY TITHE. MONEY EXISTED IN THOSE DAYS BUT GOD NEVER ASKED HIS PEOPLE TO TITHE MONEY. GOD IS SPECIFIC WHEN IT COMES TO INSTRUCTIONS. If you read the whole of that verse, God also told them to use the tithe when converted to MONEY, it should be used for WHATEVER YOUR HEART DESIRES. v25-26. Above all, Jesus said: If you can "do it" to any of these ones, you have done it to me. My dear sister, GO YOUR WAY WITHOUT THINKING ABOUT IT TWICE AND GIVE YOU BROTHER IN NEED. THIS IS TRUE RELIGION IN THE NEW TESTAMENT. Read the book of James chapter 1:27 - 2:end. In the real depth, just that I cannot mention all of them, The synoptic gospel started with John, not even Matthew and I see the revelation the more. Not the whole of John though but John Chapter as John revealed the Son in/from the beginning before he became flesh, and born of a woman. And I think this gives/makes more revelation better than reading from Matthew.[/size] |

[size=13pt]Well, I think the uniform is for proper identification in the service but in my own view, I think a simple TAG or BADGE will still do the job. This often happen in bigger or so called mega churches. Going as far as picking uniform and clothes and the rest, to me from the light of the scriptures is pure TRADITIONS OF MEN. It makes the word of God of no effect and brings competition as you have rightly pointed out. I hope all these worldliness in churches just stop but unfortunately, I don't see it stop because every man is building his/her own empire, no more building the kingdom of God.
