Even though we know that chief of staff is not the president, we have the belief that the occupant of the office is very important and influential to policy making.

Christianity EtcRe: Bishop Oyedepo: It's Wrong To Allow People In Market And Not In Church by gotnel: 12:26pm On May 07, 2020
Ejima1:
Prayer is also essential
Prayers are essential to life as food is, you can pray to God almighty anywhere you find yourself.
You don't necessarily need to be in the church before you can fellowship with God.
Church of nowadays are not really a home of prayer, rather they look closely like a social gathering where people comes together for show off and serve as a business centre for the gods of men who calls themselves men of God.
Prayers are good everytime anytime anywhere.

Food is very important and essential to the survival of the people.
No pastor will come and feed your family in your house. You have to go and work to make ends meet.
You and your family can always raise an altar of prayer in your house.
God is everywhere. God will always answer the prayers of his people who are calling on him all the time and all the places.

Yes, people die every day. But the case of death day by day of comon and prominent people is becoming increasingly worrisome.

Christianity EtcRe: TB Joshua Praying On The Mountain For Coronavirus To End (Video) by gotnel: 12:45pm On Apr 28, 2020
Gforce2015:
If we don't read the Bible, someone like TB Joshua could have confused us.
Can you imagine carrying a video camera to a praying mountain to intercede for Nigeria?
Where was this nonsense done in the Bible?
Muslim people will be making jest of us because some acclaimed pastor among us have decided to play the fool.
Show me where Peter or Paul's prayers were for show off.

Ish 5:13 my people went into captivity because they have no knowledge.
The world as of now is totally different from what was obtainable in the time of Peter and Paul.
The problem here is that people tend to compare now and two thousand years ago.
You can not even compare today to fifteen years ago when phone cameras were not yet available as it is today.

Definitely, some people are there with prophet Joshua on the mountain as he is busy praying to almighty God..
This people are with phones. All phones have video recorders.
Without asking for permission from the man of God, these people will records all activities going on, including recording the prophet as he is in his prayers mood.

So, I don't see why we should have any issue with how the whole prayers on the mountain by Prophet Joshua became public show.

Take note, anything that happens now , be it accident, fire, or two fighting, instead of people to render help, they will all bring out their phones and start recording and making postings straight to social networks

It's due to the type of life we live today.
Everyone is now a reporter

Spiritual and scientific intervention is what we need in the whole world presently.
Let the scientists continue to find the vaccine.
Let the prophets continue to find the favour of almighty God.
Everything works for the goods of all.

Chinese were the first to suffered the pandemic. They have been able to control it and make a system to curtail the spread.
Infection rates is nearly zero now. I also believe the Chinese government must have be able to study and understand the virus characteristically to the extent of their not necessarily being afraid of Corona virus anymore.

Another possible design is for each sit to have curtains on both sides. Transparent material should be used to create curtains to make each passenger feel comfortable in their own sit without being afraid of any contamination from their neighbours.
PoliticsRe: The Lists Of Pastors You Must Avoid Their Churches After This Lockdown And Why by gotnel: 5:48pm On Apr 24, 2020
Kobojunkie:
Poverty aside, there is no rational reason for why anyone should seriously not change one's approach to his/her belief system after this pandemic and this applies to all religions really. For thousands of years, so-called 'men of god'/ 'prophets of god' have told us of how the house of their god is some sort of sanctuary away from the evils and chaos in the world we live in. Millions have bought this and basically made millionaires of these same, why? Because of the messages they have preached of how powerful and in control their deity of choice is over the world's situation. People have regularly flocked to these 'houses of god' in attempts to escape the problems in their every day lives and have done so religiously. But not anymore.

COVID-19 has forced us all to confront the lies that have ever been before us as regards religion. if you ignore it, it might be at the cost of your own soul if you truly believe there to be a God. What it is has shown is that these 'houses of god' are merely structures built by the hands of ordinary men, no different from an outhouse in terms of sanctuary. It has shown us how inconsistent the god worshipped in many of these religious minds really is....many of your 'men of god' told you stuff like 'do not forsake the gathering of believers' meant you should be in church building or the mosque building every so often, right? Why has god suddenly moved to the internet almost overnight because of COVID-19? Why are 'men of god' around the world suddenly willing to change the script as far as their god is concerned?
The world will definitely change after the end of Corona virus.
I just hope that people are taking notice of this season of lockdown very well.

Don't be too greedy in life
Don't worry about wealth too much.
Sometimes we go too far about what we want to acquire in life forgetting that we are just passing through.
One thing that we should be mindful of is how well did you live with your family, neighbours, friends and everyone whom you have something that brings you together in life.
We will definitely go the same way these men have gone through.
Be careful, be prepared.

The consequence of the Canadians people actions is what they are actually reaping.
The problem with us here in Nigeria is that both the government and the people are problematic.
No miracle is happening in Canada.
People pay taxes as an when due. Government officials carried out their responsibility accordingly.
There are many reasons why their success stories is palatable.

Here in Nigeria, we are all cutting corners in every way.
Government officials are rogues.
The man on the street is a major rogues than the man in government.
Everything about us here is for cheating.
We are all to blame in this country.

PoliticsRe: Boko Haram: Shekau Ready To Surrender - Military Says by gotnel: 11:54am On Apr 21, 2020
EmekaMD:
Brutai and his men have been fighting Bokoharam for many years without any traceable improvements.

Chad soldiers pushed one major offensive and Bokoharam got dismantled.
Then Brutai immediately relocated to NE.
And today Shekarau wants to surrender, something that wasn't foreseeable until now.

My verdict is..

1. Chadian army has disbanded and weakened Bokoharam, and so Shekarau is at the verge of being captured. And his capture would exposed many grey areas including the sponsors to Bokoharam. So Brutai quickly goes in to do the capturing himself and make sure all that needed to be concealed are not exposed .

2. Another option is they'd have Shekarau turn himself in and be given first class treatment and eventually released as a repentant. We've seen lots of these already.

3. Worst case scenario he'd pretend Shekarau wants to surrender, and orders his soldiers to cease fire for negotiations. This would offer Shekarau more breathing space to recuperate and reorganize again. After all Bokoharam is a business venture Brutai and the elite north would never want to lose.

If you think I'm being pessimistic wait till time proves me wrong
All these options as you line them here are possible.

I am thinking that something is missing in the boko haram support base.

A very powerful link between boko haram fighters , their financial and logistics support system is missing.
This is the reason why Chadian troops was able to decapitated them .
And Nigerian armed forces are behaving bolder than necessary.
TravelRe: COVID-19: Onyeama Says Evacuation Of Nigerians Abroad Starts Next Week by gotnel: 7:56am On Apr 21, 2020
makewetalk2:
They will eventually run away from Nigeria after the coronavirus storm calms. The way they say these things as if things are better in Nigeria. What the government should be doing is stamping her foot on the ground against the indiscriminate treatment of Nigerians abroad. Not all about repatriation but building a face for Nigerians. The US consulate has issued a warning to all African-Americans not to go to China and cited the discrimination against blacks in China. The Nigerian consulate is docile and disposable. Anything Nigerian abroad is a magnet of cancer.

I keep saying it, at this point in time, men should be put to work. We need hospitals, we need infrastructures. People should be camped and given opportunities. If the operation in the Oil and Gas has is not halted, then you cannot shut down the economy of Nigeria when the majority of Nigerians are daily earners. Nigerian does not have more cases or deaths than the US but the US is opening, Italy is opening for business. Nigeria just shut everything down as if the economy is self-sustaining. People are poor. A country with a huge margin of disparity between the rich and the poor cannot shut down suddenly. There should be plans and arrangements. Buhari sits down in his Aso rock waiting for countries in the west to discover a vaccine to treat the people over which he presides. What happened to our virologist? How about our research centers? Is it not time to step up our game? The so-called treatment for this virus could be in the home of a herbalist right now. Why aren't we using our resources to the fullest? Chinese brought Tianshi and all those herbal drugs and called them supplements and Nigerians were stupidly buying it. This are the same herbs that you spit on when you go to your villages. Why is the government not using our herbs to full use? Why wait for westerners to breastfeed us? Those fools who saved their money in offshore accounts might just be disappointed soon.

Nigerians do not have hospitals. If you go to government hospitals, you will faint. I went there some years ago and pretended to be sick. I saw things that humans never saw on camera. The doctors show up at 10 am - 11 am and at noon to 2 pm they are out. patients rolling on the floor etc.
No X-ray machines, no blood testing machine (I mean I have this in my own house), when you have to go to do an X-ray, then go to a private specialist to translate the x-ray reading... As a health professional, I spit on the Nigerian health sector.

Speak up now for the government to create a stimulus plan because crime will be like it had never been. Some Nigerians with their servitude attitude. The crime rate will be absolutely unprecedented after this "stay home". People have bills to pay in May. Buhari should have asked Landlords to relax on rents for some months. The government should have consulted all registered businesses. The government should have enforced all top companies to pay their workers' salaries. Buhari should have consulted all state governments to reach out to the grassroots representatives to provide sustenance for daily earners.

Nothing stops the state government from liaising with bakeries to provide bread for people and have some people deliver it to homes. By this, the government can get concretized data.

I am very saddened that a Nigerian will give a fellow Nigerian indomie as relief in this period. Indomiehuh?? What will that do to an adult male? I saw a family given two sachets of Indomie. wonders!!

Some people have a box of indomie for the entire occupants of a 6 flats building. This is sheer evil. Wickedness at its prime.
God bless you. This our country is a major case study in institutional failure.
No sector of our entire system is working.
All our education in cambridge, Harvard, oxford and any other leading universities around the world are meaningless.
Outside Nigeria, you find Nigerians performing wonders.
But here in Nigeria, the bugs of lackadaisical attitude, pride and failure become the norm.
Where we suppose to look inward and provide solutions to our problems, we wait for the western world.
Our forefathers are better than our generation in the aspects of discovery of mental and intellectual property. This is even without them been educated in the western way.
We are too dependent on oyinbo's at the detriment of our own talent.
There is nothing stopping Nigeria to make available for the whole world, the cure for Corona virus. This is if we combine our heritage in herbal remedies with the western medicine and pharmaceutical education we have aquares around the world all these years.
Here we are waiting for a certain vaccine that we don't know the agenda of the people behind it.
Ordinary preparations for the evacuation of our stranded citizens is becoming a very herculean task to achieve.
Nothing is more showing that this country is being governed without the people as the primary reason for government than this season of lockdown.

Palliative support becomes so difficult to implement.
Testing for the virus infection is so slow that other smaller countries in Africa are ahead of Nigeria in numbers of people tested already.
Nothing is working in this country anymore.
People in government are just making money for themselves and their cronies.
