I don't have a TIN so I selected 'no'. If you haven't done any tax related thing in Nigeria , you wouldn't have a TIN as far as I know. I believe you can select 'no' as well.

I selected No but it didnt allow me bypass that level. it indicated that TIN is compulsory.

Please anyone who recently opened fintiba account with an idea on how to bypass this stage?

which means, judging from information I have gathered so far,
In rough estimate for a low budget Nigerian , this is what you should hold if you are planning to enter Germany for education.

1. Block Account = #3,600,000
2. Flight fee = #300,000
3. Pocket money = #285,000 (if you have block account)
4. Money for clothes and foodstuffs = #70,000

TOTAL = #4,250,000

This your list is based on clothes, which I think is actually not so important depending on which semester you are coming.
Clothing:
Jeans: it is cheaper in Nigeria.
Shirts: if you are into shirts, but as for me I am a t-shirt guy
Shoes: for ladies don't come with any high heels, you will end up not wearing it. But something durable with a flat sole.

As for thick socks(wollen) and Thermals, you only need them during the winter Months, and you can buy them cheap here.
Don't buy the Nigerian sippers ohh, you may end up living in a house with slippery laminate. Normal in-door slippers are also not expensive. You can visit the 1€ shop, same applies to head warmer.

FOOD: THIS IS IMPORTANT, unless you are not a food person.
You first three months trying to adjust to the kind of food here won't be funny. Basic things like normal Maggi will be a task buying it in the supermarket.
Try as much as possible to get enough ingredients for your best food. This will help in time of need when things start getting rough, you can always come home and enjoy a nice meal and feel happy and relaxed. Well if you are not into food then you can ignore this and fly in. Then you start eating bread and potatoes because you want to save cost.

Your contribution is always on point. Keep it up

Please let love lead.
From what happened above, this is what I will like to say.

For peace to reign

1. We must learn how to be polite when replying others to avoid unnecessary and prolonged reactions. No matter how dumb you think someone is, learn to be polite when replying or addressing them.

2. We should learn how to ignore some posts for peace to reign. Some people just like my brother Eldeee said will step on your toes. Even in Germany, you will at times be treated differently and unfairly but you don't throw stones at every dog that barks

Please, once we stick to these two rules, believe me, we go dey alright

I hope the PDF doesn't give you an heart attack.

Turkish airline allows 23Kg*2 and 10Kg*1. You pay (negotiate) for anything above.

The 40ft container doesn't seem like a bad idea tho!

Alright my brother. Thanks for keeping the group alive with information.

But USA student visa is extremely costly.
The only reason I considered Germany in first place is their free education.
After studies and saving some money, I will target moving to USA, Canada, Australia or Switzerland for my PhD.
I heard those countries pay very well (almost double what is paid in Germany ) with lesser tax

Lol. Ever thought of cost of living in those countries especially Switzerland?

Basalt went extremely far by involving her family but Let's call a spade a spade. The bolded part ain't nice at all.
"He will just kill himself, but What's my own"
shows that even if he kills himself trying to hustle, you don't care at all.
We should not be using provocative words on others who asked questions.

Even if the question appears dumb, we can choose to ignore and be calm.

Is it possible to save like 10,000 euros every year while doing my MSc in Germany?

Chaiii grin cheesy.
Basalt my fellow geologist, thank you for making me laugh so hard this night. I know you were joking shaa.

It's good we all have a financial target but things don't always work the way we expect.

Well, I am not in Germany shaa neither do I know how much one can save in a year but I think you should cut down your expectations to maybe 1 million naira in a year.
I personally think 10,000 euro is too high for a student, haba. You nogo dey study?

Hey everyone! Been a bit..

I moved to Germany as a graduate student in Applied and Engineering Physics at the TUM in 2017 and I can only give some tips based on my own experience.

1. Studying in Germany is pretty hands on, as there is no hand holding. And in terms of studying and getting a good grade, you are basically the architect of your life here, unlike what is obtainable in the US, Canada and other north American universities, there are no assignments that count towards the final grade as only the exams determine whether you'll pass or not.

Very informative

You should have collected proof of English proficiency from your school and save yourself unnecessary headache.
Aachen accepts proof of English proficiency.

I applied on 23rd February, the same course with you
