I believe she measured the actual passport but if you want to do it on your phone, there's always an app for that wink

It doesn't really follow this pattern. Every application has its peculiarity. A significant number of people get PPR in 60-70days.
Are we going to say Nos 2 & 3 are not applicable to them?
A lot more people wait over 70days to get PPR than the ones who get it in 70days or less. I believe he was just giving a general timeline based on trends and yes like we all know, no two applications are the same.

I just screenshot this now. When you click the ‘?’ on review of eligibility, the message as seen the second picture pops out.

On my express entry account, presently, these are the steps before the final decision. It shows your eligibility and the documents you used to claim you are qualified for the EE are reviewed before you get biometrics. I think what delays people are the background checks (criminality and security).
What comes before biometrics is the R10 check for completeness. At that point if your documents are not complete your application is thrown out. Scaling through that is different from passing eligibility. The biometrics request comes about a month post AOR, if eligibility is passed that quickly wait time would be way shorter than it currently is. It would also mean that nobody would get an ADR or be invited for an interview once biometrics request has been sent to them.

Your attention needed! I need you guys to look into my application which I have already submitted. For supportng documents for education(degrees/diplomas), I uploaded only my university certificate(I didn't add the scan of my ECA; I only typed my ECA number on another section earlier where ECA reference number was required). Should I be worried. I don't want the problem the person I quoted had.
Do not be worried as it wasn't expressly stated that you upload it anyway. They'll use the ECA number you provided to verify your ECA with whichever body you did it with. If there are issues with verifying, you'll get an ADR to upload a scanned copy of the ECA. I know lots of people who didn't attach it and have gotten PPR.

Edit: If you still can't sleep well at night because of it, raise a CSE.

Start the process now, don't wait till October or whatever. As to POF, a closed mouth is a closed destiny. Start identifying friends and family members you guys can seek help from and try to approach everyone of them at the right time when your application is set rolling.

Truth is, you never know who will come through for you until you ask.
You took the words out of my mouth.

Thank you bro,

But please forgive my ignorance, what does notarizing the letter mean?

I was thinking applying to the NYSC for a reference letter might solve all the problem, dunno if anyone has done that.
You need to look up the notary public close to you and have him or her witness and authenticate the contents of your letter. He/she will sign and put a seal on the letter, however, this comes at a small cost.

If you can get a reference from NYSC, that would be perfect. These Canadians are quite aware of the mandatory NYSC scheme so rest easy.

Hello all PLEASE i need help.

I just received my GCMS notes after almost 2 months and I’m in panic mode. My education and experience have not been met. My education and experience were not recognized. I attached WES document which was equivalent to master’s degree in Canada and my certificates when I submitted my documents initially. What should I do? Should I raise a CSE and attach documents again. My six months elapsed a week ago. Please what should I do? Plus there was a due date for 31st december 2018. Help me please.
Hi, we would need some more detail. If it's possible you can attach screenshots of your notes blocking out sensitive information.

Thank you bro, I have just played around the CRS calculator o, the difference was quite substantial, I will try to get reference letter for my NYSC year, do you know if my PPA can give this or must it be straight from NYSC?

As for my last Job, my salary wasn't really much and they even paid almost half the duration in cash, you just match to the cashier's office and she counts cash and gives to you, before accounts came much later. cry I can easily get a reference letter from them, the company has letter head and stamps, and is corporate affairs registered, dunno if those are enough?
Get the company to write the reference letter in CIC format stating clearly that you were paid in cash.

As for NYSC, you can get the reference letter from your PPA. However, there are people here who had challenges with getting reference letters from their PPAs so they had to prepare the letters themselves on plain sheets of paper listing their JD and attaching account statements showing payments of monthly allowance. If you are going with the second option, you might want to notarize the letter.

And please guys, for the work experience criteria,

I worked 2years and six months in a firm here in Nigeria here, this is not a popular company and as such no online presence, website, official emails and stuff, and I quit since last two years, what kind of evidence do i need to support my claims?

Also, is it permitted to have two totally different NOC classifications? I might want to add my NYSC teaching experience to make it 3 years plus, but that will be a totally different NOC.

And, if I decide to go with only the company work experience for simplicity sake, how much will it affect my CRS points? Having 2yrs & 6mos experience instead of up to 3years?

Finally, does paid undergraduate internship in a good company count as work experience?

Thank you all.
*You can get a reference letter from them. Also add payslips if you have them or alternatively you can attach your statement of account to the reference letter highlighting salary payments into it during the time you worked with them.

*You can combine NOCs as long as you have a minimum of one year experience for each one.

*Play around with the CRS calculator to see what your scores would be using 2years and then 3years work experience respectively. If 2years work experience gives you a score you consider low then by all means combine NOCs, it's allowed.

*Work experience gained before graduation wouldn't count whether paid or unpaid.

Ok, but what if I have most of my money in businesses and only decide to pull them together in a bank account say one month before submission? Will that effect me negatively, even if I explain?
You need to word your LOE properly and also include proof that the funds came from businesses you own.

Trust me when I say you are not going to be telling them anything new, they knew that you were lying about the job way back then and that is probably why you didn't get your study Visa.

Anyway, way forward;
1. fill all EE/e-Apr forms correctly.
2. Explain the truth in LOE and mention that you were misguided by a fraudulent agent.
3. Pray

Additional steps;
4. Find that agent and give him some slaps angry
5. Give yourself some too >:

Not bad.

Hmmm. Mr. Victor named the video presentation - "How to successfully relocate to Canada as a Permanent Resident Without Wasting a Kobo on Agents". I was enjoying this until I saw the optional 17,000 naira required to purchase the blueprint (a 65-page document detailing the A-Z of the PR process).

Quite funny. Seeing as our most popular page 1 here is a rich, informative 1-page document that is free for all.

ALHAMDULILAH ROBBIL ALAAMIN!!!!!!!!!!!

I decided to apply for US visa to run away and never look back but for wherehuhhuh? Agent nearly killed me….he didn’t ask for vital information just filled rubbish..my education history was wrongly mentioned,he said I should claim married when at that time the girlfriend I left Ibadan for had not seen me in 4months, and to top it all the purpose of visit is to “attend my friends babby shower” I just knew I can never get that visa

so I travelled home in my car in Dec 2017, and as I got to Benin…I had an accident my engine burst into two….i first had brake failure and then noticed that a lot of people were stranded on the road between Benin to Ore in Ondo state….i later heard that it’s a very common practice by the towing vehicle association on that road to pour some jazz during the festive period just to tow your vehicle to nearby mechanic shop…because there are so many vehicles and stranded passengers on that day with problem ranging from radiator, engine knock, tire getting bursted and accidents….the towing vehicle I saw agreed to tow my vehicle to a village for 100k…just few kilometres away and right there that I got tired of Nigeria….i saw people who have spent 4days on the road, I met a guy who just bought his car and was using it for Uber in Lagos…he bought two engines within 3days….so I paid just for my car to be safe, logged in a motel (my God, there was bed bug on the bed, tanwindin in the toilet and it was a mosquito infested area) couldn’t sleep overnight….

IELTS
the last one was done in Lagos….i was going nut a night to the exam…I was so angry that I didn’t pick my wife’s call…I really don’t know what came over me that day…even my confidant that night said there was a tone she doesn’t understand.
I laughed so much reading this, tears were rolling down my eyes.

Congratulations boss! Super happy you're getting out of this mess grin

In Earnest, I think this thread was open to share experiences and helpful notes whilst living in canada. In my opinion, I think sharing landing gist here is inappropriate. There are specific threads for that purpose.

For any avoidance of doubt, the thread is living in canada or life as a Canadian immigrant. It’s not landing in canada or requesting information on how to land, apply for Canadian immigration or concerns related to immigration process.

There are many relevant topics to discuss. Please let’s observe proper etiquette

Please how long will it take your Visa to come out??
Swansy10:
Invitation to apply for what?, which visa? Be more specific in your questions so you can get the answers you need. Though based on your questions one thing is for sure, you’re in the wrong thread.
I see nothing wrong with the above response.

Gregeal:
Calm down bro, I think u have an idea of what the question is. You can kindly refer the person to the express entry thread for more insight as we are all in this together.

To answer the question, I think it takes approximately 6 months give or take to process ur canadian FSW visa.
Now to this. If the OP puts out a question that isn't clear, nobody here should assume for him or her. Now you assumed he was talking about FSW when in fact he had a work permit in mind.

Bottom line is people should be clear with their questions on these online forums.

You can invest your money in treasury bills quite alright. However, the amount you say you have isn't up to what you need as a single applicant so I don't really get your question.

Can i buy tbills with the money now..or will it be suspicious.

If using tbills do u need to prove the source.

I anticipate your guidance
