Bosses I bought a new Sumec Firman SPG 1800 last month and it consumes alot of fuel, like 5litres of fuel only lasts for 3hours, how can I adjust the fuel consumption please.

If it's not too late return it. I am sure it's original.

Don't know what you mean by very less noise. So long the gen is not sound proof and it's not an inverter generator, it will be louder than almost all smaller generators around.

A generator with around 5KW or 6Kva should do. Should be in the region 300-400k. Any of Thermocool or Sumec is good and big generators like are not silent.

Generator is similar to the SPG 3000E2 in fuel consumption. They have similar engine. I think the Rugged has a more turns on its coils because it's slightly more powerful than the spg3000. My neighbour uses it, just try and get the original fakes everywhere.

It should work, hope it's not steam iron. It's good habit to check the power of appliances before using them on generators.

Good evening boss Gptech and other elites in the house. A friend whose dad sells engine oil said he's been using what he termed "light oil" since 2 years ago and his gen is working perfectly fine. How true is his claim that road side engine oil is the same quality with factory made engine oil?

Avoid road side oil. Did he tell you the weight of the oil he uses? That he has been using it for 2 years means nothing for now.

Big gen, big noise. I don't think you can do anything about it except you mean the noise has increased from how it used.

I don't usually on daily, on a average of 5/7 days for 4-5 hrs and I change the oil whenever I see it's turning black. It has modified tyres (you can see from the pics) so I don't know if I need a "used car tyre" for putting the generator on instead of directly on the tiles.

Change after running for 60-70 hours. If you run 5 hours for 7 days constantly, it means you should be changing oil every 2 weeks.

Have you cleaned the spark plug? You may even need to replace it.

Use only dry Iron with less than 1000W. Generator will power the washing machine too. You may not use both equipment simultaneously.

Check the running speed, it's probably too low.

Dru23 is very correct, do it only in emergencies and drain out then replace after emergency is over. Mixing new and used oil is like using dead dry batteries with new ones.

If you can get one with a good battery, it's a great buy! Just ensure no part has been replaced and it's of course not a stolen phone.

Anyone from Sumec or Thermocool. Sumec SPG 2500 or ECO 2990.Thermocool TEC Bobo or Tec captain in no particular order.

A refrigerator in one shop, three desktop computers in another. An electric sewing machine in another.

A 2.5kva generator can carry those and even more more. If you calculate the amount you'll get the grinding machine!+cost of coil and other small equipment plus workmanship, I think buying a generator is cheaper. A generator will be more rugged, portable and easier to maintain too.

I see the man almost everyday and I can attest to his claims. @gptech and other bosses. How do I go about this? I saw a grinding machine on jumia for 70k . It has 5.5hp and that's powerful.

Best bet na to ask the man the process na . Of course dem go need coil and some other things. Lastly, a 1.5kva generator can power 3 shops too, it depends on the total load. What do you think the load is like on those 3 shops?

Boss, just got this sumec 3000e2 before I stumbled on this thread and it's now looking fake to me because I saw a post on here stating that shinny engine is another way to know a fake gen and this one looks shinny, though I haven't used it yet

Yes. Open the back cover of the phone, remove the battery connector, put it back, then turn on the phone. You can watch videos on YouTube for guide.

You don't check kva with HP, check the power of the generator, starting and running, it's written somewhere on it. And, you are better off knowing the power in watts than in kva because you calculate your load in watts not in kva.

3.8hp = 0.933*3.8 = 3.5454KVA

With this your formula, it means the Sumec SPG3000E2 is approximately 6KVA . Don't know how you arrived at this, but it doesn't apply here.

Modified : you did a direct conversion from mechanical power in Hp to kva , it's not the case ooo. The mechanical power from the engine is not equal to the electrical power from the coil. The electrical power is much less.
