Thank u very much boss.

He actually reffered to the yellow one in this picture as a 2.8kva gen.
Since this particular one is a 3.5kva then I shld be fine with it right.
Because the pump is 1.5hp, should go with the red one.

Thank u bro I spoke with one of Sumec dealers today for pricing and he said a 3.4kva is 178k and 3.3 kva 160k pics attached below (tho not exactly this but he said it looks like this) respectively.

I intend going to their showroom tomorrow in ikeja to make my choice.

For ur final input, do u think a 3.3kva would serve me cos 18k plenty small
Many of those sellers don't know the difference between kva and Kw, they use them interchangeably. The Red one is 4.25kva (3400W) max while the yellow one is 3.5kva (2800W) max. Now you know the reason for the difference in price.

Ogaboss Gptech,

Please me chose between Lutian LT3600 which is 3.5kva and Sumec Firman 2.5KVA SPG2900 both are Manual.

Which is better and stronger not minding the rated power and both are enough for my use.

Basically, we want know how strong is the lutian compared to sumec sir.

Thank you very much
Don't trust Lutian, go for original Sumec.

Hi boss Gptech. What do you think about this gen going for 20k. It's a lutian 1800s with 1.0 kva rated output. Would it be able to power one TV, small table top fridge, ceiling fan, standing fan, home theatre system and laptop?

Everything will never be on at the same time tho.
Can't say about the fridge sha. If it's possible, test it before paying.

Thank u very much boss.
I sincerely appreciate ur response.

With the brand and kva u re recommendingbit loos like it is way above my budget.

I ve cancelled AC from it patapata but the pumping machine and oda appliances still stays but won't be used concurrently.

Is there any gen that can work for my budget (150k).
I spoke with an engineer b4 stumbling on this thread so he recommended Constant ELePaQ 3000.
What's ur take on that and do u know any where around mainland (Ketu) that I can get original
The pumping machine is the main issue here, you need something big to power a 1.5hp. That Elepaq 3000 looks like 2.5kva generator. With around 170k or so should get your problem solved.

Hi Gptech,

I would appreciate ur honest review of this generator attached below

Intending usage is to power a TV, two fans, small freezer, 1.5 hp pumping machine, washing machine and an inverter AC not sure of the hp of the AC but the picture is attached below.

Pls note that all of this items won't b running concurrently but just a picture of what I intend using the gen 4

Or can u recommend a generator for me that can suit my usage/budget
My budget is btw 100-130k
Honestly, I can't give a proper review as I haven't used it before. But for your need, go for at least a Thermocool Major (3.75kva) or Sumec SPG 3000E2

Hello Prof,
I want to buy a 3kva Corolla generator in Abuja. The price is 115k and it comes with key start and also has a wheel. I want anyone who has a review on the quality of the product as well as ruggedly compared to sumec.
The dealers told me its better cos they are many fake sumec on the market.
Pls I will appreciate ur advice.
Tmx.
Why won't they say it's better when they obviously want to force it down your throat. Since they know fake Sumec is everywhere they could have made themselves different from others and sell only originals. You can't get an original 2.5KVA generator for 115k now. If money is not an issue you can experiment with this.

Gptech,
please, what's your view about Maxmech generators? I need a 6.5 - 7kva generator to power a fridge, freezer, 1.5hp & 2hp AC (both are LG GenCool, Smart inverter). I will appreciate your recommendation
Don't trust any right now except Thermocool and Sumec. If you are bent on the Maxmech, take a good mechanic with you to inspect it.

Thanks for your timely response but what if I put everything off before putting on the pumping machine. To pump water doesn't take more than 20mins and this would be done twice in a week at most. Can I still get Tec Bobo 2.5kva for it? I need ur candid opinion sir
Yes of course, you can get it.

Am very happy to find this forum...

I'm thinking of getting a generator tomorrow. My gadget: Tv, table size freezer, standing fans, etc.

Can 1.3kva senwei gen power the above listed gadgets without issues?
Thermocool junior is recommended for that size of generator, forget about Senwei.

Get something bigger like the 3.75kva Major.

Alright, thanks a lot. Btw, might sound weird but what do y'all think about buying a gen through AliExpress?
Not worth it! The shipping fee alone will cost more than the generator and many of the generators sold there are generic.

You don't have to turn everything on at the same time. That pump will stress the gen sha.

Hello house. Apologies for the length of this. I'm a student with the following appliances:

Home theatre system
Infinix 32'' Inch TV
Small tabletop fridge
One ceiling fan
One standing fan
One PS4 Console
Laptop
Phone/power bank

So I came across an Elepaq constant with 1.3kw rated output. (Picture shown below). It seems from checks online it's equivalent to 1.2kv rated; don't really get the discrepancy since 1.3kw should be equal to 1.6KVA?

So question is, would this be able to power my stuffs without hiccups? Everything won't be on at the same time tho (Like the PS4 and fridge would never be turned on at the same time). I don't even think I'd need it for the fridge since we do have relatively regular power supply. Just need the gen in case of periods of prolonged outages and for my laptop to be constantly charged.

I don't really trust the Elepaq I'm intending to get though given complaints I've read on this thread about brand new Elepaqs becoming faulty within a few days and the price is much more less than Jumia/Konga. (~68k as opposed to ~74-89k online)

I'd have just shelled out some extra cash for the Thermocool TEC junior but there's no reliable Thermocool licensed dealer around (nearest one's in Benin) and getting it from there and shipping down to Ekpoma would be a lot of stress + added costs.

So, should I just bear go through the stress of getting it or would the Elepaq be a reliable alternative?

How about the Senwei 1.8KVA manual starter?

Or is there any other better alternative in the 1.2-2KVA range?
Go through the stress and get the Junior. Better to be stressed now just once than to be continuously stressed with time.

Hi GPtech, hi everybody

I managed to get my hands on an old Thermocool BoboMax 2kva

This thing has top fuel efficiency, 3 litres of fuel lasts at least 6 hours for me

But it consumes a lot of oil, I topped it up and let it run for ~8 hours, but it then tripped the automatic shut off. Checking the oil levels told me that it did drop below the recommended amount. I topped it up again, ran another 8 hours and got the same result.

There isn't a leak. This engine seems to just be eating oil

Is this regular operating procedure for these things? Is it going to guzzle oil like this every 8 hours or so, or do I have a larger problem on my hands/need to fix something?

Thanks!
There's an issue somewhere, you are not supposed to be topping oil like that. When did you buy it? If it's still under warranty, take it to their service center closest to you.
