Good Morning Gptech. My generator now make a sound like there's a ring inside. It started today and i don't know if that may cause an issue to it, it's stilll On now though. Should i be concerned? I've checked the oil level and it's still full. I don't want to call a technician to work on it as i read here that there should not be any tweaking. I'm worried please.

Is the sound distorted? Did you change the position of the gen? It's possible that's how it sounds, changing the position of a generator affects the noise you hear.

Will recommend only Thermocool and Sumec Firman. You can get Thermocool only from their stores and Firman from Firman flagship stores or accredited sellers, don't just buy from any store, fakes are much more than the originals nowadays. Your budget should be at least 170k to get something that will fit in.

1. Will a 3.5kva carry my AC (at least 1), a tall fridge, washing machine, TV and other stuff like kettle, microwave, blender, iron (when I need them) and charge inverter?


2. I want copper coils only. Aside from their descriptions there is no way to tell which is copper or not.

Lutian particularly looks really cheap compared to others like thermocool and firman. These are the products I'm looking at though. Please your suggestions.

First, what's the power of your AC? is the AC inverter type or the regular one?
Secondly, I can't recommended Lutian, don't think the ones available now are even as good as the old ones.
Thirdly, generators are not cheap anymore, I know it's not easy but you can't put cheap and original copper in one sentence.
Lastly, never buy a generator online.
Modified : The last pics of the Firman generator for 200k is one reason you should be weary of buying online. That generator is 3.1KVA rated, 3.5KVA surge, but the seller is advertising it as 4.5KVA.

Why did you top the oil? Was the oil level reduced?

You should visit one of their flagship stores, don't have an idea of the price but they are available.

You just generalized and noise in this case is subjective. Which generator do you consider quiet? I know many people reduce the running speeds of their generators to minimize noise, you can't judge with that.

Don't know what you loved about the P30 pro, it's only similar to the s10+ and the Mi 9 in terms of performance. The Huawei is a totally different phone from the Mi 9, so what do you like about the Huawei?

Please the Thermocool TEC junior is 1.25KVA. Theres no 1.5KVA. Is the 1.25KVA still ok for my fridge, laptop, fan and 3 bulbs? Here is a clearer version of the specification of the fridge

It's same thing, the numbers are for marketing purposes, it will carry your appliances without stress.

.I mean I have reduce the all screw of the generator. Yet the fire is still too laud the way I wanted it. The only way I can achieve that is by removing that spring. But it vibrates. That vibrates is affecting the carburetor setting. There is no load on the gen and it's 2.5 kva. I really want low noise and economy friendly. But with the little little problem the generator has be giving me with hard starting. I think it's time to leave that spring the way it comes.

You mean you can't reduce the speed with the spring on? If that's the case then you may need to use your hand to pull the governor to adjust it.

it is a good Gen just make sure you get it from their showroom and don't do any tweaking to the Gen.

As in ehn, I am seeing its better to leave your gen the way it came. If you tweak to save fuel, you cannot load the gen to full capacity without the gen vibrating, that's because the power of the gen has been reduced. Some persons can't go through the headache of tweaking the gen back when they need the power, some even totally forget and are left with self induced issues.

Both generators are not original. Get the Sumec, and get it from one of their flagship stores, there are fakes everywhere. An original sumec 4.5kva is surely around the 200k region.

Here is my predicament.

I bought my generator not quite up to 2 yours and it's not heavy usage.

In other to lower the generator noise and fuel efficiency. I remove the governor spring and also lower the speed flat. The generator make very low sounds except for the fact it's vibrates and not running on a balance settings. I really do not care as I wanted a very low noise.

What I have observe so far is that the carburetor rod (bolt and screw) don't last as it always chop out. I guess as a result from the vibration. To unscrew them at times it's a nightmare. But still I don't care because of I don't want laud noise.

I don't know of this is bad for the generator? The generator make too much now if I put back that spring.

Of course it's bad for the generator. The vibrations will end up causing wears in other internal parts of the engine which could be fatal.

It won't be too much even if the generator is 10kva, what matters is they voltage produced, which is 2020-230V.

And yes, it should have oil shortage cuz it drops & I have to change it like every month. I was advised to do this once it drops low & never allow it dry completely.

If it drops and you use it regularly, then a month might be too long to change oil. I will advise you take it to a reliable mechanic for servicing.

If increasing the noise makes it work then manage the noise. Is the noise louder than other similar sized generators?
The normal way to change oil is complete replacement unless your engine is experiencing oil shortage, that's when you can top it.
