Gentlemen please help a brother out with this issue
Check the frequency on the label of the generator if it's 60Hz instead of 50Hz.

I wish i can get a better technician to look it up. Those around me here are terrible. Bad review on them by people in the neighborhood.
Those so called engineers are the problems many people face.

My Tec Junior generator bought about 3 weeks ago makes way too much noise.. This has been so since I bought it, I only use it two days in a week. Any solution to this or is it normal?
NB. I bought it having seen how quiet some bigger tec generators I have seen are
It's normal.

EYESofHORUS:
Please gurus, come to my rescue.
My generator started shutting down after about 30minutes of been powered on. It later graduated to 10 minutes.

I changed the oil, clean the caburator and later changed it, changed the spark plug, but the issue still stays. I invited a so called technician to look at it. He came when i wasnt around and i was told he only retighten the plastic that hold the caburator and also drop some oil into the spark plug hole. He also pour some fuel into the caburator via the air intake of the cabutor before starting it. It worked for many hours.

Later the next day, same problem showed up with another package. A very loud and irritating noise when the choke is been pulled to the highest. Another technician was invited. The cow changed spark plug, changed starting coil went ahead to use 4minutes to glue up part of governors arm so it wont move. Gen worked for few minutes and went off after the idiot left. All this happen while i was at work.

I decided to service it myself when i found out on google that the piston head is probably full of carbon deposit hence the reason for shutting down. I disassembled the generator and discover the horrific look of the piston head. Its as black as a black. Super dirty.same as the head unit where the valves are. I have to scrap and wash it off with petrol before it came out clean. I install as told by the youtube video and everything is cool. I also scrap the glue off the governor arm and ensure it return back to normal.

I ensure i made no error, and coupled it back. Now the next issue now is my STARING CORD IS HARD TO PULL. I discover that happens if flywheel lock is broken but mine isnt. Its intact and was installed correctly. I also discover if i remove spark plug, the cord pull very easy and smoothly. What could have been the problem or where could i have been wrong during coupling?
You be engineer oooo. You can check this link out, I believe it will be helpful https://homebatterybank.com/why-is-my-generator-hard-to-pull-start/

Hello, Greetings everyone.
Please I need your help in determining the fault of my 3.5kva iTec(Zinox) Generator.

I have been using this generator for the past 6months without any issues at all, just constantly changing the engine oil (it still even kick start with one draw)

Just last night here, I put it on around about 9pm and by about 5am it made a loud noise “Brrrrrrrr” and went off itself.

I tried restarting it this evening, it refused to come on…plus the exhaust made some gun shot sound with sparks coming out of it.

please, What might be the fault??
Start by checking if the oil is not too much. Check and clean spark plug too.

Gptech, pls what are the differences between Sumec SPG, FPG, Ruby, ECO and Rugged series sir?
I think they are practically the same, just design differences. The rugged series is supposed to fare better in harsh environments due to its ip23 rating but it's generally advisable not to subject generators in such environments.

Good evening,
Please how good is Maxi gen. I intend to buy this from fouani or Sumec from electromart to power a 200L LG inverter refrigerator, a rechargeable fan, 55inch tv, 4 light bulbs and 1.5hp AC. I have a budget of 150k, Kindly advise.
Thanks.
Can't personally recommend Maxi for now. It's advisable to get something slightly bigger than the Sumec 3000E2.

Not advisable, unless you won't be pumping frequently.

You'll have to look for anywhere it's written. By the way, what do you intend to power with the generator?

Price tag 155k but I negotiated 150 after so many plea they sold it to me cos it was their manager that told them I'm was coming.

Can u pls explain the English above the starting and watt rating.

They poured 1 ltr of oando oil where I bought it but the Kazeem that helped me with the wiring was saying they shouldn't ve and ve that it is too much.

Pls advise on maintenance culture.

We currently do not ve light in my area so I would be using it on the average of 5 to 6 hrs per day until power is fully restored.
4 hrs in the night then 1 hr in the afternoon
Its not possible for 1 litre of oil to be emptied in the generator without spilling. Did they give you the empty can? Open the oil cap while the generator is on a level ground and see if it spills, if it does allow the excess oil to pour in a container until it stops spilling.
If you'll run the generator everyday, with your usage, it's advisable to change oil between 10-12 days.

Hi sir, I want to get the below Gen from a sumec outlet here in Akwa Ibom and would like to confirm what the guy said. He said it a 2.9kva gen and the last price is 100k.
Its not 2.9kva. Can you snap anywhere the power rating is written? I hope this dealer is a certified Firman dealer? This is Nigeria, even certified dealers can sell fakes, just be careful.

Hi boss.

I eventually got the gen on Saturday evening. Got a contact of one of their dealers via their service centre.
I finally resolved to the one below due to budget constraints.

But I would like to ask is this a 2.5kva cos from their outlet they said this is 2.5kva.
Surge/ starting watt is 3.5kva, while running /rated watt is 3.125kva.
How much did you get it?

Its possible repairer has damaged your battery in an attempt to remove the screen. If it's possible, get another battery to test. By the way, how does the phone behave, is it constantly on miui logo or it goes off sometimes. If it's constantly on the miui logo, do you at anytime notice a change in the screen brightness?

Good evening boss. So I followed through with your instructions. Even changed the engine oil. But the loud chattering noise still remained. Engineer later came and said both the smoke and sound where due to a damaged crankshaft and I'd need like 13k to fix everything.

Omo, I don go return the gen laikdis. I nor fit for stress in the name of cheap stuff. grin
The gen even seemed badly maintained cos the engine oil was practically dry before I changed it.

Planning to get to Benin soon to just buy a brand new Thermocool junior. smiley
Peace is priceless! Thank God for you grin. Many times awoof dey purge belle, many times sellers sell off because of the plenty wahala they have faced, even mechanics advise them to sell off problematic generators, na the buyers I pity.

Thanks bro.

Pls do u know any sure showroom where I can get the original generator around mainland side.

Their outlet (Fireman) posted on their site that is in ikeja said they are not open for now and the lady I spoke with said she is not sure when they would open.

Other dealers I am seeing are just like regular online store without showroom promising to deliver and I ve seen ur warning where u said neva buy online.

So I would appreciate if u can recommend any walk in store around
There should be other outlets on their site. It's better to even travel far not minding the cost to get an original.

It’s a synthetic oil, 5W-30

I am also suspecting the plug… cos it makes this popping sound and then goes off
Good oil. Yes, you should clean or change the plug. Are you sure the oil is still not too much? Oil should not be dripping out when the generator is placed on a level ground with the oil cover off.

You have to actually reduce the speed to achieve that.

Hey guys,

Please what could be wrong with my fireman spg3000. I change the oil from heavyduty to my vehicle engine oil ( Hardex), since then the generator refuse to start. I figured out I poured too much oil as large oil were seen deposited at the filter. So I had to drain some out to the full limit marked and then clean the oil filter and also the plug. I try starting it again, it worked! But for a few seconds. Then I tried again, it then make an explosive noise and never start:

What could be wrong please? Could it be the oil I used?

Please your input:
What's the weight of the oil?

Hello boss Gptech. So I've gotten this lutian 1.0kva gen. Seems to be working fine. Only problem is the excessive noise. Like it's really intolerably loud. And it smokes a lot. I'm suspecting the smoke is just too much engine oil though. But is there anything I can do about the noise?

And what else should I be checking for in the gen to confirm it's in good condition?
You should have gone with an engineer to check it for you. At that price, some parts may have been replaced hence the noise and smoke. Try reducing the running speed a bit if the noise with decrease

Hello GPTech.

I've decided to go for the Sumec 2900. 2.2kva.

Will this be good enough to carry my Tv, Laptop, Sound system and Small fridge properly.
Yes, it's even more than enough.
