author=Newborn27 post=126658739]Wow!

This is deep!

I don't even know what to say or where to start from... truly you're courageous and strong.

At this point, if it comes fine, if not, fine. I'm not the one to make such plans. If I get what I want, oh.. why not but if not, men e go hard o. Like I said... In this year alone, I've had two suitors. A very responsible guy and a man but the thing with me is that I'm too picky. if I don't like you first, it will be very difficult. These two were not my spec and I won't trap myself in a loveless marriage all because of age or "time is going " , if it's not what I want, I won't do it.

Like I told you before, what tickles every one's fancy is different likewise what bothers them.
You may fancy all the bolded and I may not. What you want out of marriage is different from what I want. So it's not a one size fits all" thingy or compulsory that we all must like to do or have things the same way. That is why you will never see me envy married people or people with children because to me it's really nothing. Now, my Mom married at the age of 10 . Had all of us before 30 but died in her Early 40s. So of what use was her early marriage and child-bearing to her? Fine they use us to remember her but she as person, what did she enjoy in her life for achieving those? Just suffered to raise children that she didn't live to see even one grandchild? Abeg abeg.

Why? That's like saying I regret.. I have saidvit countless times that I've never regretted it for once . Ok let me even pause for a moment and try to remember if I ever wished I did.......... 🤔 🤔 🤔.... Ogbeni nothing like that o. Rather I've always thought that if I had married maybe by now I would have left the marriage cos e for don taya me and that's the truth. In fact.. sometimes I used to silently thank my stars that I'm not married with kids in this economy because I can't endure suffering and hardship with children. Not like Im wishing myself hardship but men in this present economy, everyone is facing it and someone like me can't take the heat with such responsibilities even when shared.
There's a friend of mine that always wish to switch places with me saying I'm enjoying because I don't have anything bothering me and I'll tell her I'm glad I don't have those bukata.

Stigmatization? LoL.. see so far e no affect my pocket, whatever anyone says in that regards does not bother me. it's when you listen or go close to people they'll stigmatize you. I don't keep companies. I'm a loner and it helps a lot to stay away from such. No be if I smile with you you come know wether I don marry or not. I feel free saying it here because no body knows me in person and it all ends here. Of course some people in the past have said some things like your twin is married you're here forming oge, but I didn't give a damn because when I look at their lives im doing far better than them and living life to the fullest. Abi What is life about? No be enjoyment? See it's all in your head o.life no hard reach like that

I love my family. They will never pressure you. My dad before he died would be like, if you do anyhow I'll take my daughter back ( referring to my in-laws.) So all his inlaws are pals with him. They'll be like ogor, oya make we go chill. He will tell you, don't stress them for me o. As for the single ones he'll make sure he provides our needs so we don't look outside. Even as a working class lady, my dad when he collects his pension, he will buy a bag of rice and share to every one of us in our various houses. He was still giving me money till his death in 2012 ( miss you pop). My dad na guy man. Him no send o.

Forget, this life is what you make of it. I try as much as I can to enjoy myself and make every minute of it count

I love this post. You are a free bird just like me. I'm a renegade when it comes to following certain cultural 'norms' grin Stay free and do whatever makes you happy. That's the most important thing in life. People take things too seriously but for real, nothing really dey this life like this. Bless you🙂

Travel / Re: Nigeria’s Train To Nowhere Shows How Not To Build Public Transit - Bloomberg by Grandlord: 7:22am On Aug 30, 2023
descarado:

Because from the womb you as a black man has been programmed to think only about you.

When you give out, u make the world know or you give out selfishly. You believe you have a reward. Even your kids that you train, you had hope they will look after you when you get old.
My dear, that's the black man's mentality.

Have you ever thought of how you will retire?
Planning towards it?

If you go to grocery stores where I lice, uou have small section where shoppers drop in anything they feel like after shopping for the hungry. They look for no glorification. You will not even know somebody put in something. There're days kids donate small token for the hungry. It's a ritual you grow up with and you just continue with it.
Children are encouraged to give out what they don't use anymore in schools. Little children. They will just tell their parents. Even though there are food and cloth banks, these kids are encouraged to see giving as serving the society. People that did outstanding deeds are honoured.
Kids are encouraged to pick dirt and put in designated bins. Fastwords to 60yrs later, you will see wrinkled oldies doing the same. You know why, cos they were programmed to do that from cradle.

It's all about money for the black man especially Nigerian. Nigeria will never be OK with such mindset. Tomorrow, if you are in their shoe, you will behave exactly like them.
It's psychological.
Nice one. Greed and selfishness are at the root of the problems of Africans. A super greedy people don't have any business creating a nation and nationhood.
Sometimes I wonder if greed is one of the primordial instincts or DNA, recessive in other races but still dominant in us blacks😁 I mean, it could be, sadly.

Well, before your group/clique gets out of power you should have already seen it and strategized on how to move to the new group in power. That way you stay afloat and on top of the game cool

I can do it without even interacting with them and so far, I'm right 9 outta 10 times. Sometimes I ignore the sensations and give people the benefit of the doubt, only to be proven right eventually. It's surreal.

That's the way see eh. I am on discord groups. This white and asian kids use Adderall to Study leetcode. Once you take Adderall you brain works ten times faster and you become seriously hyperfocused. The competition is so intense. It's all they spend their time doing. I am studying with an Indian guy who's still an undergraduate. He's in level 200 and has done 720 questions. He just got an internship at cisco.

My own is that after work I am so tired and I can't do more than 3 to 4 questions so my progress is very slow. By 1 am I start to feel sleepy even putting water in my legs and trying to study doesn't work for me. I just wish I could loss the ability to sleep temporarily and still function optimally.

It's super difficult to get Adderall in Nigeria.

If you find it anywhere please let me know. I need it for my ADHD.

This should work, but a map cannot be sorted, we would have to use some sort of ordered map.

Sure a map can't be directly sorted. What I meant was sorting it's keys/counts extracted into an ArrayList.
Programming / Re: A "Senior" Software Developer Could Not Solve This Coding Challenge, Can You? by Grandlord: 9:32am On May 29, 2022

This addresses the first part of the problem only, remember, even elements with a count of 1 should be in the output array, also hashmaps are not ordered by default so you'd have to address that too.

Sort the map based on the keys. Then proceed to extract corresponding values into the output array, in that order.

Simple stuffz

Remember my days at leetcode.

I just add identical values in the arrays to a new array

Later check the length of each array then form a new array depending on which is longer

I guess the dictionary or hashmap solution above would be more efficient than this method if you consider space complexity.
Your approach would require creating a new array for every new value but you could just use a
dictionary once and for all.

Does big tech companies even interview an applicant with zero experience?

Even the start-ups, how do they go about inviting 20 people out of 1000 applications?

What are the criteria?

DSA is important but if you have nothing to show other than "Software Developer" in front of your name in today's world, without referral through your network, you're just trying to cut a tree with a razor blade.

True though. But also alternatives to GitHub commits may include:
-Your rank on a competitive programming leaderboard.
-Contributions to open-source projects(This is also GitHub anyway)
-A degree from an ivy League CS program cheesy

But project-based interviews aren't easy either. Implementations can be nerve-racking and time-consuming. You need a lot of experience to stand a chance.

The up side is, they aren't like the puzzles and abstract stuff you get with whiteboard. At least you'd be working on something real grin

There are 2 developers:

Developer A: Data structures and algorithm guru. Has no evidence of real life projects or any contribution to any project.

Developer B: Has a very rich portfolio of complex projects with evidence by his git commits. You can see his coding style. You can see logic and good use of data structures and algorithms in his code base. You know where he is in terms of experience.

The truth is before you're even invited for that Data structures technical interview, there must hav been some kind of screening process (except you applied through refferal). Most often, such interviews are to further screen out applicants.

How do I know you can code if I've not seen anything you've done in the past and you have never worked as a developer before. Worse, I don't know you or anything about you except that you're calling yourself a softwarr developer in your application.

The easiest way to reduce doubts about your inexperience is to show what you've done. How? Portfolio of projects. Where? Github.

Well...top tech companies are big on the whole whiteboard(DSA) interview process. Especially when interviewing for a software engineering role.

They don't really care about the number of projects you've done or your GitHub repos, even if they might be used for screening. It is crazy but it is the standard.

Thankfully many other not-too-techy companies would do with just your projects and brute force programming skills grin

If only you used a bit more effort to read through the post, you'll have seen where I referenced "solid repositories" and I'm sure I mentioned "before recruiters go into the detail".

Good luck getting a job with 50 commits as a beginner without experience. Most times, you'll only get to Data Structures and Algorithm stage IF you don't get screened out with your 50 commits.

I never did Data Structures based interview even as an entry level applicant. Thats not to say its not relevant though. Many organisations are adopting take-home "real" application development.

True.

Many companies don't do whiteboard interviews. It's straight up project-based.

I think there's a subreddit where companies in that category are listed.
