SENATOR IFEANYI UBAH REASSURES CONSTITUENTS OF HIS COMMITMENT TOWARDS PROMOTION OF SECURITY AND BUSINESSES, KICKS OFF INAUGURATION OF COMMITTEES FOR INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF SOLAR POWERED LIGHTS IN VARIOUS WARDS

In line with his legislative agenda of promoting security and businesses at grassroot level, the Senator representing Anambra South and Candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) for the 2023 Anambra South Senatorial Election Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah on Thursday, began implementation of his legislative plans to support the state in providing security for the citizenry. Senator Ubah kicked off the implementation with inauguration of ten-man committee that will supervise installation of the Solar Powered Lights in various Wards of the Senatorial District.

Speaking during the ceremony which commenced at Ukpor Town Hall, Ukpor in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Senator Ubah appreciated ndị Anambra South for their undiluted supports and for standing with him especially at this critical time that two of his Aides and some security personnel were sent to early graves by gunmen. The Anambra South Senator who was accompanied by some of his supporters and stakeholders reaffirmed that he will never be distracted in giving quality representation to his constituents. He further said that the solar powered lights are aimed at supporting the state in the security of lives and properties, and supporting businesses that operate mostly at night at the grassroot.

Senator Ubah and his entourage later visited Ozubulu in Ekwusigo Local Government Area and Okija in Ihiala Local Government Area to inaugurate the committees that will be in charge of the project implementation in various Wards of the two Local Government Areas. Speaking briefly in the areas, the Anambra South Senator further appreciated his constituents for their massive supports and maintained that the committees will ensure that the facilities are installed adequately in critical locations and also properly secured and maintained. He also urged citizens to remain law abiding and reassured them that his office will leave no stone unturned in attracting quality policies and programmes that will promote people’s wellbeing and support the institution of the state in taking proper care of various sectors of the economy.

The day’s event was rounded off at Senator Ubah’s residence in Ụmụanụka Otolo Nnewi in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State with the inauguration of committee that will be in charge of the project implementation in the ten Wards of the Local Government. Addressing the gathering, Senator Ubah appreciated ndị Nnewi for their overwhelming support. He also reassured them that he will always use instrumentality of his office to attract programmes that will promote their wellbeing and urged them to remain law abiding. The 2023 Anambra South Senatorial YPP Candidate further maintained that the Solar Powered lights are meant to support the efforts of the state in providing security for the citizenry and promote grassroot businesses.

Also present at the various events were YPP Candidates for various elective positions at state and federal levels in Anambra State and community leaders. The event is expected to continue in other local government areas of Anambra South Senatorial District on a later date.

Today, I join friends, family and well wishers to congratulate and celebrate Chief Olisa Metuh on the auspicious occasion of his 57th birthday anniversary

At 57, Chief Olisa Metuh already boasts of a very rich resume of accomplishments and has made tremendous impact in the lives of several people and institutions within and beyond Anambra State.

Chief Metuh, an accomplished lawyer, real estate mogul and politician, began his political career as the coordinator of the Igbo United Congress. While serving in that capacity, he was also a member of the finance committee of People's National Forum (PNF). He served as a pioneer member of the National Finance Committee of the People's Democratic Party and was later elected as ex officio member of the National Executive Committee (NEC) and later the secretary of the National Peace and Reconciliatory Committee of the party. He was later appointed as member of the People's Democratic Party Constitution Review Panel, later National Auditor and member of the party's National Working Committee, National Vice Chairman of the Party for Southeast zone and finally as the National Publicity Secretary of the Party; roles he handled with great dexterity and panache

Chief Olisa Metuh has also, through his foundation, touched the lives of so many in the society via scholarships, contributing his own quota for the betterment of humanity.

On behalf of my family and the good people of Anambra South, I wish to congratulate you on the propitous occassion of your 57th birthday. This is the first it kinds in this part of the country. No other sports club has this type of assorted sporting facilities which they have here. The highest you can see is, lawn Tennis courts and snooker table. Main while, by December 9th, a visit to the sports complex will clear your doubts.

In line with its principle of appreciating and encouraging philanthropy and community development, Nnewi Sports Club will tonight, bestow its Prestigious Award of Excellence on the Senator representing Anambra South and Candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) for the 2023 Anambra South Senatorial Election Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah. Speaking about the occasion, the Nnewi Sports Club President Chief Ifeanyi Ezekaka said that the award is meant to appreciate Senator Ubah for his giant efforts in youth, sports and community development and to also thank him for single handedly building an ultramodern facility for the club which is presently the largest and the best in South Eastern Nigeria.

Chief Ezekaka also described Senator Ubah as a great asset to ndị Nnewi, Anambra, and Nigeria in general. Speaking further on the efforts of the Senator towards Nnewi community development, Chief Ezekaka said that the Senator remains the largest employer of Labour in the town. He further revealed that even before joining politics, the Senator has impacted the lives of ndị Nnewi by building international facilities that employed the youths and promoted the economy of the community. According to him, some of the facilities the Senator built in Nnewi before joining politics include the Ifeanyi Ubah International Stadium and Authority Radio Station. Chief Ezekaka further described the Senator as a one in a million philanthropist whose acts of benevolence can be felt in all areas, including religion. He further said that the Cathedral Building of the Nnewi Catholic Diocese, which is near completion, was started by the Senator before he joined politics and is singly handedly funded by him.

The Nnewi Sports Club President also described Senator Ubah as a great force that partnered with the institution of the state to save ndị Nnewi, ụmụ Anambra and Nigerians in general during COVID-19 and He said that while the state and citizens were battling the pandemic, Senator Ubah convened prominent citizens to build ultramodern medical and isolation centers at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (Permanent Site), Nnewi and Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. He went on to say that the amazing part of both gigantic projects is that they were completed within a period of one year and handed over to the management of the aforementioned institutions.

Senator Ubah, who is fully committed to human capacity building and sports development, also assures them that he will never relent in putting in efforts towards promoting the wellbeing of the people. He also appreciated the club for their selfless efforts towards the development of Nnewi and informed them that the facility is part of his support for their selfless activities.

The new ultramodern facility donated to the Club by Senator Ubah will be officially unveiled on December 9, 2022..

The Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, yesterday, attended the Order of thanksgiving mass of the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, His Lordship, Most Rev. Paulinus C. Ezeokafor on the occasion of his 70th Birthday.

The order of thanksgiving mass, which was organised by the Catholic Diocese of Awka to celebrate The Most Reverend Excellency at 70, took place at St Patrick Cathedral Awka.

Many dignitaries from various walks of life were in attendance to celebrate with The Lord Bishop on reaching the septuagenarian age.

Eulogizing His Lordship, Senator Ubah acknowledged Bishop Paulinus as a clergyman whose dedication towards the Church is top-notch. He also labelled him a humanitarian whose love for the body of Christ and the church has also directly and indirectly affected the lives of so many persons all over the country.

Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah was accompanied to the thanksgiving service by a delegation of Young Progressives Party (YPP) Candidates in the forthcoming elections in the state amongst whom were Chief Chinedu Umeadi (Agunachemba Abagana), YPP candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial District, Hon. Peter Uzokwe, the YPP House of Representatives candidate for Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, YPP women leaders, some members of the YPP campaign organization and friends.

1, Ndi Anambra South were urged to make plans for mass return this Yuletide as Senator Ubah embarks on operation Secure And Light Up Anambra South billed to kick-start next week.

2, Operation Secure and Light Up Anambra South is a compendium of programmes with special emphasis on the improvement of visibility, communication, and information networking.

3, Every ward in Anambra South Senatorial District will have at least 50 high-powered solar street lights shining in their communities this Ember month.

4, A 10-man Committee from every ward in Anambra South Senatorial District is to be inaugurated.

Terms of reference.

° Identify the spots for the fixing of the solar streetlights.

° Get a home-based contractor to handle the fixing of the high-powered solar streetlights.

° Supervise the work and ensure that it is delivered within the stipulated time frame.

5, Delivery of Security gadgets/equipment and training of 119 youths (one per ward) in the 'train the trainers exercise' to be held in collaboration with the Nigerian police and Anambra State Government.

6, Briefing on the Journey so far at the Red Chambers and the Senator's numerous accomplishments ranging from critical bills, (one of which has already been passed into law), to school blocks, educational materials and equipment, erosion control and drainages, health centres, roads, market shops, cold rooms, toilets, solar-powered boreholes,houses for the poor/elderly, numerous empowerment and intervention programs, etc.

7, To commence the second phase of rehabilitation works on the Ozubulu axis of the Nnewi -Ozubulu-Okija Road project.

8, 500,000 Naira start-up business fund to 50 youths in Anambra South Senatorial District.

9, Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation sponsored Ward football tournament to kick start in December 2022.
