Chai! Nah wa o. I'll move to a dedicated server or VPS then. This will give me access to SSH. Thanks for your help. dhtml18: Yeah right
I was joking about the SSH stuff earlier, but you really need it. You can even see that the instruction was written in linux shell mode. All those commands were executed on a linux shell. So to set this thing up on your server, you must enter the ssh console and start firing commands.
This one is not a simple matter of downloading a zip and extracting it anywhere. Plus you must have laravel installed too. . . . |

Oya, make me sef talk my own @op, open the bash console of your website via SSH and issue the git clone command, it will download the gaddamn script straight up. . . .
I am sorry to say this, but the op seem to be CMS installer to me.
@op, let us really try to help you. You need to give us the link to the github thingy you are talking about so that we can tell you the simplest way to install it. There are some that if you do not use composer, all the clone commands and download zip shall fail thee. Then you need to give us an idea of the kind of server you are using so that we can advise you on how best to install it - but from your talk, i suspect it is a cpanel type of host.
Or better still, get a real programmer to install it for you. |
Webmasters › Re: 7 Awesome Reasons To Start Your Blog This Year by GreatManBee: 7:27pm On Jan 05, 2016 |
Julius2214: You may be thinking that you have a job or you are a student, so you can’t blog. No! No! I’m a student, in my final year. From experience am telling you that blogging will even help you as a student. You’ll get to understand as you read on. Your job shouldn’t be a barrier also. It shouldn’t stop you from blogging. I’ve met a few people who have full-time jobs but are interested in blogging and I help them set up their blogs. You may be thinking about the possibility of combining your job with blogging. Ayeni Tobi of MissTechy dot com recently wrote a post on how she does this. She’s got a job, but very consistent on her blog. You can learn from her experience if you want to combine your job with blogging.
Back to the topic:
7 Awesome Reasons To Start Your Blog This Year
1. You’ll Become A Better Writer
Blogging is definitely going to improve your writing skills. Becoming a better writer lies on much practice, and how frequently you write. And then that is what blogging is about. This is one of the reasons it will help you as a student. Blogging has greatly improved my writing skills and other bloggers out there.
2. You’ll Make A Difference In The Life Of Others
One time or the other, we have all read a story, a blog post, or an article online that inspired us. You can change people’s life for the better through blogging. Inspiring young people to discover their true potentials, directing people to make better choices in their relationships, spreading the virtues of your faith. There are many ways you can help others through blogging. Your voice matters, making it heard will have a positive impact on others. Start your blog today to be an inspiration to others.
3. You’ll Meet New People.
I’ve enjoyed many benefits since I started blogging. Meeting interesting people is part of them. If you’ve been blogging for while, you’ll agree with me on this. People that are interested in your niche will always contact you to know more about it and you’ll end up making friends with some of them. Beneficial friends. You may also get to meet top bloggers in your niche. Meeting new people and making friends is fun.
4. You’ll Become A Better Thinker
You don’t get taught in school how to think, but it’s one of the greatest attributes every human must possess. Blogging fills that void, it helps you grow your thinking muscles exponentially. Before writing anything, you have to think so you can give your readers what they want from you. Now is the best time to think about having your own blog.
5. It’ll Build Your Confidence.
Blogging will make you confide in yourself, it’ll help you learn to voice your opinion without being scared of making mistakes. With time you’ll realize that your voice matters and you have something to offer others.
6. It’ll create opportunity for yourself and for your business
Writing about a particular topic consistently shows you are an expert in that field. When you become known in that area people looking for expertise will eventually contact you. One of my major services online is to set up blogs. I’ve been doing that even before I started this blog. But after starting this blog, I get to meet more people interested in my services because they see me as an expert.
7. You Can Make Money From Blogging
I know you’ve heard a lot about making money from blogging and that is the main reason some people go into it. Though it is true that you can make money blogging, but blogging is not a get-rich-quick scheme. (You’ve heard about that too). Create values and grow your audience before you think of making money from your blog.
So are you convinced? You want to start your blog? Don’t rush. Don’t jump into entertainment niche like others do and end up becoming a “copy-and-paste” blogger. Carefully choose a niche that is right for you. I wrote a post that will help you choose the right niche. Check my profile.
One more thing.
There are two major platform to set up your blog; Blogger and WordPress.
Blogger is a free service owned by google, where you can easily set up your blog in minutes and get a free sub-domain like yourblog..com.
WordPress on the other hand is divided into two; Self hosted and free hosted (). Just like blogger, is free and you’ll also get a free sub-domain like yourblog..
But to use the self hosted WordPress, you’ll need to purchase a hosting account and install the WordPress script.
If you already know about WordPress and Blogger, you should also know that using the self hosted WordPress is the best. There are many articles online supporting this claim. Personally, I don’t take bloggers on a free platform like and blogger serious. Especially those without a custom domain name.

Strahovski: See them.... When you want to convert western union or domiciliary account dollar to Naira they will be looking for 270 now that they are paying naira for dollar they are looking for 199.
Lolz.. The forex issue in the country has affected banks as such banks cannot work at 199 even if that is the official rate. Banks are 260 270.
CBN is clueless on how to handle this. Parallel market is supposed to be for BDCs and local exchangers not banks. So sir I advice you obtain a dollar debit card. Hello People, I'm sure we all know that the current exchange rate for a Dollar to Naira is 199 Naira. GTB seems to be charging me 270 Naira o. I use my paypal account to pay for a serivce yesterday and now when I will receive the debit alert. I saw I have been charged 270 Naira to one dollar because I sent a payment of $20 and I was charged 5,399.90 Naira. What could have happened? Is there any other bank that their rates make more sense?

Phones › Re: The type of phone you use is a reflection of who you are. by GreatManBee: 11:00pm On Jan 04, 2016 |
Toks2008: Phones they say are just necessities and not luxury but in many parts of the world especially in Nigeria, many people see phones as luxury and they tend to want to use the very expensive ones even when they can't afford it and knowing fully well that any phone can be stolen no matter how well you guard it.This has made me believe that indeed the type of phone we use goes a long way to tell us about who we are.
Some will say its a gift but then most times, the source of the gift is also a pointer to your personality So if you meet any guy or lady,it is very easy to know their personality just by taking a look at the cost of the phone the person uses in comparison with the person's financial status especially in Nigeria..How?
1.A Guy or lady who works but uses an expensive phone that costs higher than their monthly salary is wasteful.
2.A jobless lady who uses an I-phone 6 or very expensive phone is either a runs girl or has rich parents while a jobless guy who uses an I-phone 6 or a very expensive phone must be a yahoo guy or has very rich parent.
3.A gainfully employed man or woman who uses phones quite cheaper than their monthly salary is very prudent.
4.People who brag about their love for expensive phones irrespective of their income are proud and extravagant.
5.A very financially ok person who uses phones less than 10k is very secretive and could be hiding something.
6.Anyone who uses a phone that is binded by rubber or taped is terribly broke.

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: The One Golden Rule Every CV Must Follow by GreatManBee: 3:52pm On Jan 04, 2016 |
Handsome1: There have been tons and tons of How-tos on crafting a winning CV that will be just too perfect to be ignored by potential employers. Now, that’s all good stuff. But as with every form of knowledge, there is a basic, rudimentary and golden rule upon which the entire body lies. That one thing you can say is unarguable – the truth (if there’s any such thing). As far as writing a great CV is concerned, there’s just ONE GOLDEN RULE..not two or three, just ONE: “If it will not help you get that job, don’t put it in your CV.”
Now this may go off as a no-brainer, but you really have to see a typical CV of a job applicant in Nigeria to appreciate the wisdom laden in this statement. Details like marital status, state of origin, religion, ethnic group, LGA of origin etc will not help you get a job. If anything, they will greatly hurt your chances of even landing an interview.
How so? There are number of reasons, but I’ll stick to one which I think you may easily relate to. While merit is a major factor in recruitment, we cannot overlook individual sentiments and differences in the different choices of employers and recruiters. Different people have different predilection, and sensitive details such as where you come from, what religion you profess, your marital status, tribe, age and co should be completely removed from your CV. I hope you catch the drift. In addition, these details have nothing to do with your skills, experiences and ability to deliver on the job, so why add them to your CV.
There are other factors that you must consider in crafting a great CV, but this one rule is essential.

Ymodulus: Importation Contract Version.
I did a detail explanation of this business on this thread. I explained everything.
My experience:
I did souvenirs for the Peoples democratic party Minna Chapter. Governorship Aspirant for 2015 elections.
Alh. Umaru Nasko.
I knew his personal assistant. I also act like a boy boy to them loading recharge card , running errands.
Deals settled for party.
1. Flash Drive
I imported going to 2000 piecs of Flash Drive. The drives were Toshiba chip. They cost around N520 to get in as at that time for 4Gig , 8Gig , 16Gig via expressed
Corruption played
* I told the officials that a flash drive will cost 1000 per piecewe negotiated to around 900 and something I can't recall. However on the receipt I signed that eache flash drive were N1300 / Piece
* We budgeted for 16Gig, the person who gave me the contract ask me to mix 16Gig with 4 Gig and we cut the other money. I had no choice. I even went ahead to make 16Gig only 20Pieces and mix 8 Gig and 4Gig all together.
* I told them Samsung chip glad drive better than Toshiba and expensive than Toshiba by N40Naira. I was paid for Samsung. But I imported Toshiba and ate the N40 naira each. There was no way of verifying. Don't blame me. Blame the assistant who granted me the Job.
Matches Box We brought in 10,000pieces customised of Governor's aspirant pictures. Each match box was 45 Naira a piece. I made sure I added 10 naira of my own gain to it. The matches were distributed to Guni Local Government area. When you going to Kogi from Minna following Laipai area. You will pass this local government.
Hand Bands
Can't recall quantity but I think around 5000. However I can't recall exact quantity. A band goes for N250. They were glow in the dark bands.
Jacquard ( those stuff football fans cross around their neck in times of cold )
On the receipt I wrote 1000pcs of 95% fur jacquard. However I did mix up below par.
In the game of politics, your superiors wants to eat and you too have to play wise and eat too.
Customised Native cloth with Governors Picture Hahaha. The name of the tailor is even Buhari and we were die hard supporters of the Buhari. However we had to eat our own share of the local cake. Today we still hangout when am in town.
So sad, while I was an APC - Buhari Die Hard, I wanted Pdp to win in Niger State for personal reasons. .
But Apc ended up winning. Even though I have close ties to both parties state members, I enjoyed that of PdP well.
To have an idea of how to customise and approach organisations, so as to pull things like this read this thread...

Mediapace: These are the ten basic fundamentals you must know before Applying for google Adsense :
1.You must have Enough original contents : : Nowadays, website owners are lazy, they only do copy and paste from one site to another, before applying for adsense, you need at least 35 original contents in your website, even if you want to do copy and paste, make them minimal ,if you post copy and paste contents,to google it løoks like spamming their website,Some webmasters even go to the extent of copying and pasting without putting the Original website link. Stop it Now .
2.Pageviews : Though,Google Adsense doesn't use traffic to rank Who they give adsense codes to,you still need it,you need at least 5,000 page views per month due to my own experience, even if google accept you with less traffic, who will click the Ads?
3.Perfect load time :- Don't destroy your webpages with irrelevant images that increases load time, google Adsense bot hate sites that inconvenient members

Many of us couldn't achieve our 2015 financial resolution not because we are lazy or lack of good innovations or ideas but as many of my colleagues then will say "I have an Idea, but no capital",this was also my best quote or best excuse for not taking bold steps whenever am faced with issues related to my financial status. Although, i have moved over that bad mindset now and changed the kind of life and people i share and discuss my ideas with.

Romance › Re: 10 Areas Lovers Should Work On In Their Relationship (Emusmith & Oliviaarims) by GreatManBee: 2:10am On Jan 01, 2016 |
emusmith: Sub-Topic 10 Areas Guys And Ladies Should Work on In Their Relationship (Emusmith Vs Oliviarism)
Hi everyone. In few hours time, we will be entering into the New Year. Looking back, there were pleasant and unpleasant scenarios in our relationships. Oliviaarims and I, Emusmith, in this Collabo-thread wants to pinpoint some areas in our relationships, both Guys and Ladies should pay closer attention to in this coming year 2016.
Without much ado, from the Guy's Angle I'll list 10 areas:
Guy's Angle:
1. Guys, devote more time to understanding your lady.
Different strokes for different chicks. She needs you to understand what she isn't saying. If you love her, you will won't fail her.
2. Don't take her love for granted If you think you can now misbehave just because you've gotten her to fall in love with you; that's childish and immature, with all due respect. Instead, love her and say it often. That fertilizes relationships.
3. Be open to your girl.
Let her trust you. Lying tells her you ain't ready to trust her. Start from the small things to the big ones.
4. Don't be a player who sleeps around: but one that takes responsibility
Don't be a "player" who sleeps around. Responsibility is one thing you can't dodge if you wanna tread this path.
5. Arguing with her is an error.
Ignore her rash words. Ladies can talk. Two wrongs can't make a right. Be the man. Be the bigger person.
6. Enticing her with money and not being able to maintain that is foolishness
I would suggest you be plain and not exaggerate. Let her know your worth when you notice her commitment to the relationship.
7. Surprises can be wrongly-timed
She likes surprises but ensure it's at the right time. Don't take her to a place without pre-informing her of "her roles". That's will be an embarrassment.
8. Spend on her
Have you heard? You can give without loving but you can't love without giving. If you love her, you won't have to let her ask everything. If you're not giving her, you're giving someone else.
9. Effective Communication
Talk to her before making major/minor decisions. It tells her you care. Sometimes say, "I'm telling you firsthand, haven't told anyone else." She becomes you confidante. Your shelter, so to speak.
10. Learn not to remind her of her past when there is a quarrel
This is so unfair. Nothing hurts as much as this. Let her know that you love her despite her past life. Please do.
Thank you. #Hands the mic over to Olivia#
Olivia: Yes, nice points. Relationships are a vital part of human existence, man necessarily being a social animal. It's however a bit unfortunate that some people just don't seem to get it right. They go into countless relationships, which almost never lasts longer than the flicker of a candle light before it dies off.
From the Girl's Angle.
1. Be Indispensable:
Don't make yourself unnecessarily scarce, because soon enough, he'll fill up the role you were supposed to be playing. That holds him down.
2. Be Polite.
Some girls are just naturally rude and uncourteous in their manner of talking. Know how to make your requests, without making them sound like commands.
3. Be Calm
Listen. When there's an argument between u two and he's saying something, that shouldn't be the time for u to be struggling to be heard too. Remain calm and allow him finish talking before u say your piece.
4. Apologize.
When u find out that you're at fault, be quick to apologise and do it with all sincerity.
5. Make an effort to be truthful.
The more lies u tell, the less likely he'll trust u. But when u make it a point of duty to tell the truth always, he'd always give u the benefit of doubt whenever something fishy comes up.
6. Make him your buddy.
Make your significant other your realest buddy. Begin to see him as a friend. Tell him everything that can be told, even if it seems irrelevant. It would make for better understanding, closer bond, things to always talk about and fun in your relationship.
7. Don't flaunt your toasters in his face.
He already knows that you're bound to have a couple of guys wooing u. You could even discuss some of them with him and laugh together over funny pick up lines. But know the difference between telling him about your toasters for the sake of fun and flaunting it in his face to make him feel jealous and insecure.
8. Watch his ego in public.
When he's in public with you or in a gathering of friends, be careful what u say or do. It would be really embarrassing if you ignore him and perhaps turn your attention elsewhere. Let him have your full attention always. Try to take his side and defend him in an argument.
9. Pay Close attention to the things he always wants you to do and those he doesn't want.
Being in a relationship is very much about compromise. Definitely, there would be certain things you do which pisses him off and which he's made known to you. Work on avoiding doing these things and instead doing the things he likes.
10. Lastly, quit the "forming."
Like seriously, we girls like to form a lot. I agree it's necessary in certain occasions, but there's really no need doing that with your significant other. Let him know that you're his "personal person".. No styling, no fronting. Feel free to fart in his presence (but please, not after eating beans and egg). Eat eba with him. Get into a bus with him if he can't afford a cab at that point in time.. Go to the market with him to buy foodstuffs. Buy ur ice-fish freely. U can't cook with chicken and beef all the time.
Above all, try to be original and have the mindset of making your relationship work. The mind really, is the starting point.
Emusmith: Well said Oliviaarims, the mind is the starting point. Love starts from the mind and ends through our actions. In this year, 2016, let's do all we can to making sure our relationships stay stronger, heading towards marriage.
Happy New Year in advance! |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: How To Find Unadvertised Jobs Using Google by GreatManBee: 6:11pm On Dec 31, 2015 |
bodeoni: Most job openings at most companies go unadvertised—that is, they're posted on their site, but they're not farmed out to recruiters or posted on massive job boards. That also makes them harder to find. Thankfully, Google can do the job for you. Use these search strings to uncover matching gigs.
The market for new jobs is so competitive that most companies don't see a need to spend a ton of money hiring third-party recruiting firms or posting their jobs to the top of big job boards just to get candidates to apply. Between internal referral programs and word-of-mouth, posting a job to the company's "Careers" page is usually enough. To uncover those unadvertised openings, all you need is a little Google-fu. The folks at the Glassdoor Blog explain that all you need to do is cast your net over the major employee applicant tracking systems that companies use to post and manage responses to their job postings
Do you know what an applicant tracking system is? Wikipedia defines it as “a software application that enables the electronic handling of recruitment needs.” As a jobseeker, you refer to it as the electronic blackhole that eats up resumes. Specifically, it’s the system you interact with when you apply for a job on a company careers website. One of the more popular applicant tracking systems is produced by a company called “Taleo.”
With a little help from Google, you will be able to search company websites that are using the Taleo system. In this way, you will be able to find jobs that are not posted on (insert leading job board name here) and have an edge on your competition. Let me show you how.
In the Google search below, I am asking Google to look only on the Taleo.net website (where their system hosts various unadvertised jobs that are typically obtainable when a jobseeker does a search on a company’s careers website). I do this when I search: “site:taleo.net” Afterward, I ask Google to find only those webpages that have “careers” in the title. This is what “intitle:careers” means. Finally, I add in the job title “programmer” because that is the job I am looking for. Of course, just adding a job title is giving me too many broad results. I narrow it down by adding more keywords like “SAS” and “macro.”
In short, to search all sites using Taleo, for example:
site:taleo.net intitle:careers JOBTITLE OTHERIMPORTANTWORDS
Repeat the process for any other applicant tracking systems you know are in wide use, like Kenexa's BrassRing (brassring.com) for example.
