As girls we can't deny that attentions come from the opposite sex but I find it strange when a married man or a lecture does it.Pretty girls are mostly the victimized ones and its something that has eaten deep into the educational system.One time I was on holiday, my phone rang and my lecture called me and towards the end of the call,he said he wants to spend 3nights with me,I laughed seriously and was shocked at the way he had so much confidence to ask me such.My reply was crazy, I said "sir,which church is the night vigil holding at".The man laughed and told me something is wrong with me.

Another lecturer did same when I went to his office on his call.He told me he wants to have an affair with me and I told him "sir,I appreciate the fact you like me but you are married and you are my lecturer.please sir I 'LD like to keep this official and I'll really appreciate if u understand.I promise not to tell anyone about this."

I then left his office. After a long while, he called me and appreciated me for displaying maturity and told me I had good training.He advised I should keep it up and call him whenever I have financial challenges.

2.Dont show any facial expression that will give him the impression that you are helpless.rather be strong and Dont say anything till he is done.

I wonder why people of no known culture and history are going about detracting this fine gentleman of a king. Even those who have a culture and history are also criticising him. They don't seem to realise that they are still living in the past with their archaic mentality of screaming "Oba no dey go transfer". Isn't it boring to be in the palace all day as if it's some kind of four walls of a prison?

The Ooni is simply rallying his subjects towards unity. I guess he wants development for his kingdom, a thing you can't get if you stay stuck in the palace. His detractors are claiming that the people he visits are the ones who suppose to visit him cos thats what First Class kings do. While they may be right, have we asked ourselves what such visitors come to do? They just show up during election campaign period, grease the palms of this kings and the rest is history- they never show up again. But here is an Oba, who knows getting his palms greased would be his own benefit alone without his people having a crumb from it, going about to meet the high and mighty in order to attract investments to his kingdom cos his dream is to turn Ife into a tourist attraction. Can having himself glued to his palace achieve that? I believe his visit to Fashola is to look at ways electricity can increase in supply to his kingdom for investors to find appealing.

I believe with time, he is going to be loved and his ways better understood by reasonable people who aren't stuck with archaic ways.

Remember how we all lashed at Ambode when he first assumed mantle of leadership. Aren't we the same guys praising him now?

Whether you are in the manufacturing or serviced based business, you can’t do without electricity. The fact that power is not constant and the high rate of electricity bills imposed by PHCN can send your business packing up.

Apply for a prepaid meter
Have a backup generator
Invest in renewable energy such as inverters and solar panels
3. Lack conducive Business environment : The Nigerian environment sometimes is not too business friendly due to some factors like bad roads, poor economic policies, unhealthy business laws etc

Create a working business environment and make sure your staffs / employees sticks with it
Understand the Nigerian politics , monetary and economic policies
4. Non Availability of loan or High Interest loans : Getting loans from the Nigerian bank is not an easy task , when you finally get one, the interest rates are killing , apart from the interest rates, there are also several hidden charges that will be incurred during the course of the loan validity.

5. Unqualified and unskilled labour : Getting qualified people to work with you is another big task for entrepreneurs in Nigeria. There are lots unskilled or unqualified persons applying for jobs.

Invest in training the staffs once they have been hired
6. High cost of Running business : The cost of running a business in Nigeria is relatively high.

Solution:

Avoid wastage
Look for alternative or cheap sources to running your business
7. Unstable political system: Due to the unstable political system in Nigeria, policies are bound to change which may affect businesses.

Solution:

Don’t get involved in the Nigerian politics as a business, be politically neutral
Understand the Nigerian politics and adjust accordingly

Hi everyone,

I'm happy to see how everyone's crying for the "common" tomato. Most people (wey get sense) will start preparing for next year by either farming, gardening, or preserving.

My first thread was on very cheap farming but here's another for preserving our darling tomato when it becomes cheap again.

With this method, one can store fresh tomato paste for over a year but guaranteed 1 year, that's if everything's done right.

What you need are
1. Tomato
2. Jam jar (it must be the sort you see in the pics....plastics won't work at all)

Step 1.
Blend your tomato or take it where it's grinded in bulk (you don't have to squeeze the water out unless it's spoilt)

Step 2
Put the blended tomato in a pot (small or big depending on the amount blended). Boil the tomato till all it's water has evaporated and has become paste (try not to let it burn).

Step 3
Let it cool down. Scope some paste into a jam jar till it's filled up, then seal it properly with its cap.

Step 4
Put the sealed tomato paste in a pot of water till it's completely submerged. Allow the pot of water to reach boiling point, then leave to boil for 10-15 mins (don't worry...it won't break). Take them out of the pot and allow to cool. Put then in cartons and store in a cool dry place. No need for fridge. #Shikenan

PLEASE NOTE:
1. No matter the amount of jam jars you put in the pot of water, MAKE SURE THEY'RE COMPLETELY SUBMERGED BEFORE BOILING.

2. JAM JARS WHICH KNIVES WERE USED TO OPEN THEM WON'T WORK. Only normally opened jam jars would work because they're still air tight.

3.Once you open the jar, use the amount you need then refrigerate.

Let me start by saying that there are terrible lies about starting a business. One of the dumbest lies is that business is for people who are illiterate. Jeeez! That’s pathetic. Another fat lie is that you need really huge amount of capitals. Another lie from the pit of……….ignorance!

Now, i want to debunk those lies by sharing this short stories of 5 Entrepreneurs in Africa Who Started a Successful Business with $100 or Less in hand. Guess what? They are smiling to the banks after just having started a few years ago.

1. Heshan de Silva (Kenya):

In 2007, Heshan de Silva dropped out of school and as things got worse for him in the US, he joined his parents back in Kenya to get his life back together.

Aged only 18 at the time, his parents gave him 10,000 Kenyan Shillings (US$116), which he used to start a new business. He targeted the bus travel sector in the country by selling insurance bundled with the bus ticket purchase. And it is widely reported in the media that by the end of the year, the business had made 90m Kenyan Shillings (US$1.05m). Isn’t that amazing!? Heshan has since invested that money in his new business, De Silva Group, a venture capital firm.

With an incomplete education, no capital, not even a great deal of life experience and yet Heshan made it in a short period of time. He was featured in CNN and Forbes Magazine as one of Africa’s most successful young.

2. Abasiama Idaresit (Nigeria):

Abasiama Idaresit graduated with an MBA at Manchester Business School and moved back to Nigeria in 2010 to start his own business. Today, he is the Founder and CEO of Wild Fusion, a digital marketing company.

Guess what? He started his company in 2010 with a gift of $250 from his mother and it took him 8 months to make the first deal. Just three years later, Visa, Vodafone, Samsung and Unilever as well as several large Pan-African corporations are his clients and his company is valued at over $6 million in revenue. Yes, you heard that indeed right; $6 million! And yes, he started in 2010. Wild Fusion has now become Google’s certified partner in Africa!

3. Axel Fourie (South Africa):

Take Axel Fourie from South Africa. By the time he was 27, he had tried unsuccessfully to set up several businesses. When his iPod was faulty and he was told by specialists that nothing could be done about it, he searched for a YouTube video online and learned how to fix the iPod himself!

He then put an advert into a local newspaper and offered to fix faulty iPhones and iPads. The response he got exceeded his expectations as he was flooded with calls and requests from potential customers. He knew he was onto something!

Axel opened his company iFix and started fixing iPods and iPhones from his university dorm. This was in 2007. Today, Alex runs a chain of 8 stores and employs 85 people. He has since expanded his business into manufacturing mobile phone accessories which he exports into 12 countries across Africa. Oh, we forgot to mention the amount of his starting capital. Here it is: Zero! (unless he paid a little for that newspaper ad).

4. Anna Phosa (South Africa):

Anna Phosa started her pig farm venture in 2004 in Soweto with about $100 in hand. She bought four pigs with that money after she was introduced to pig farming by a close friend.

A little less than four years later, in 2008, Anna was contracted by Pick ‘n Pay, the South African supermarket and retail giant to supply its stores with 10 pigs per week. This was a first breakthrough and the request by the retailer grew quickly to 20 pigs per week.

But the really amazing bit happened in 2010 when Anna signed a breathtaking contract with Pick ‘n Pay to supply 100 pigs over the next five years under a 25 million Rand deal – that’s nearly 2.5 million US Dollars!

She did not even have so much land or enough pigs! With a contract in hand, Anna received funding from ABSA Bank and USAID to buy a 350-hectare farm property.

Anna started with 4 pigs in 2004, today her farm employs about 20 staff rearing 4,000 pigs at a time. Her perseverance has made her a millionaire!

5. Jacky Goliath and Elton Jefthas (South Africa):

The venture ( De Fynne Nursery) started in 2001 by South African entrepreneurs, Jacky Goliath and Elton Jefthas, in Jeftah’s home backyard. Market demand grew fast and steadily which meant that they moved the nursery to a 0.5 hectare land in 2005, and in 2008 had to move again to a 1.5 hectare area outside Cape Town where they hosted 600,000 plants!

Today, the De Fynne nursery supplies its products to retailers such as Woolworths, Massmart and Spar in South Africa and it was reported that they since moved to a whopping 22-hectare commercial property. This is a simple start up idea on a shoe string budget anywhere in Africa where you have a booming housing & hotel sector and expanding city areas!

What are you waiting for? Will you allow your mum, dad, sister, brother, friend, enemy, the government, college degree or whatever to stop you? After reading this, do you still think that you need a million dollar to start that business? I don’t think so. Mama Emeka, my childhood neighbour collapsed while going to her store. We all thought it’s a product of her many enemies, since she was a known trouble maker earning her the alias ‘Trouble’. Emeka her son became an orphan and a drop-out as there was nobody to support him. Mama Emeka was said to be healthy that morning before her death which begs the question, what could have gone wrong. The only plausible explanation was that she must have died from complications of a chronic medical condition with hypertension being the prime suspect. Complicated hypertension kills silently and suddenly.

Hypertension simply means abnormal elevated blood pressure. Blood pressure readings are comprised of two values: one for systolic blood pressure and the other one for diastolic blood pressure; anything equal to or above 140 over 90 is considered high. It affects approximately 1 billion people worldwide and it is commoner among blacks. Studies shows that about 30 million Nigerians are hypertensive, affecting 1 in 3 men and 1 in 4 women. Unfortunately over 30% of hypertensives are unaware. These sets of people are time bomb waiting to explode just like Mama Emeka. Kaboom! And they are gone 6 feet under the ground.

Over 90% of hypertension is idiopathic, the causes are unknown. However, there are some things that increase one’s chance of having hypertension which include advance age, black race, stress, sedentary lifestyles, alcohol consumption, smoking, consumption of fatty food and extra large people with BMI greater than 30.

High blood pressure is usually asymptomatic, but when it presents with symptoms, the symptoms are usually vague. Vague symptoms of hypertension include headache, insomnia, blurry vision and palpitations. Untreated or poorly treated hypertension leads to heart failure, heart attack, stroke, blindness, renal failure and many more.

Routine blood pressure check is important(especially for individuals with increased chances) and this can be done in the hospital. One must know his number and it is easier these days that even mushroom ‘chemists’ now render blood pressure checking service at a cheap price. A way of showing love to your old ones is to make sure they get their blood pressure checked. You might be saving a life. To those who have been diagnosed of hypertension, yet you are not on drug and not attending clinic, I feel sorry for the loved ones you’ll be living behind. Stroke might just be knocking on the door. Please retrace your steps.

Eat healthy, avoid excessive salt intake and limit alcohol consumption. Extra large ones should emulate the popular comedienne Lepacious Bose. Hit the gym with the aim of maintaining a healthy weight. Who fatness don epp except for bullies?

What would you do if by 12am one night, your little child drinks some household poison like shampoo thinking its juice? Or you have just gone to toilet for the fourteenth time and you are feeling like you are about to pass out.

Of course, you will go to the hospital but before you are able to go to Hospital, do you know that your actions (or inactions) might even determine if you make it to the hospital, or if the hospital will be able to save you?

Are you prepared for any eventuality? Life-threatening situations require that you have something to use at home, just in case.

The must-have Items are:

1.Activated Charcoal- This has to be the best poison-absorbing substance known to man. (Forget Palm oil) It is sold in pharmacies everywhere and you don’t need a prescription to buy it. If your child (or you) accidentally swallows poison, you would regret not having this at home. To demonstrate how effective, it is, a professor once swallowed some poison intentionally, along with activated charcoal. The poison was in quantities that would have summarily killed him, but he was unharmed. He swallowed it to demonstrate to his colleagues how effective Activated charcoal is in absorbing poison. The professor’s name is Professor Touery.

2.ORT Sachets: You don’t want to be caught dead without this in your home. (no pun intended) If someone stools frequently as in diarrhoea etc. and the person doesn’t get two things urgently, the person might die. The two things are, hydration and electrolyte balance. When you hear someone died from diarrhoea, it usually isn’t the diarrhoea that killed the person but the loss of water and electrolytes. If the person is a child, amplify your alert times 10 because of their tender bodies. I would have said sugar and salt as an alternative but it can be cumbersome doing the mixing and getting the ratio right, so I choose this convenient, ready-mixed pack sold cheap at every pharmacy I know. Just add a litre of water and you are good to go.

3. Low dose Aspirin (75 mg): Warning- NEVER EVER GIVE ASPIRIN TO A CHILD BELOW 16 YEARS OF AGE- EVER. I will discuss the dangers in another post.

Now that we have that out of the way, this wonder-drug does erm… wonders. It is different from the aspirin widely used for pain, hence the “low-dose” name. It can be used to prevent a blood-clot; it might save your granny if you notice she’s having signs of a stroke probably caused by a blood clot. Daily use of this is said to prevent some cancers and in fact, by some, you should be taking this daily. Please talk to your doctor to know if this is for you.


4.Aloe-vera plant: This thorny plant has so many beneficial uses but the one I am recommending it for is for burns and scalds. If for example you spill hot water on your hands you can quickly go and cut its leaves, apply the gel sparingly all over the affected area and leave it. What it seemingly does is that when the burns heal, it leaves as little mark as possible and if it is just a minor scald, you might not notice anything when it heals.

5.Baking Powder: Baking powder is made of sodium bicarbonate a bit different from baking powder. It has so many uses but I will mention just the 2 that pertain to this article. 1. For ulcer. 2. For scorpion stings and bug bites.

Because of the way it interacts with acids by neutralizing it, baking soda is very good for stomach ulcers. Just drink a glass of water with 1-2 teaspoons to relieve symptoms.
To use for scorpion stings, put a paste of baking powder and water over the stung area, be it wasp, bee or scorpion stings. While most scorpion stings are not deadly, some, like the Deathstalker can be fatal. So, try and kill the scorpion and take it with you to hospital for the doctor to see.

The Anambra state Agriculture Team headed by the Commissioner for Agriculture, Mechanization, Processing and Exports, Mr Afam Mbanefo has praised the owners of Eagle Farms and Cattle Ranch for their entrepreneurial spirit saying that their efforts will help in transforming not only agriculture but the economy of the state. He was speaking during a facility visit to the farm and cattle ranch located at Umuchu in Aguata local government. At the ranch, cattle are raised within a confined perimeter and do not need to wander about in search of pasture.


It would be recalled that irresponsible cattle grazing by Fulani herdsmen has led to clashes between the herdsmen and farmers in some parts of Nigeria. Some confrontations have led to several deaths and destruction of people's farmlands and properties with the herdsmen being fingered as the aggressors. The most recent case being the killings at Nimbo in Uzo-Uwani local government area of Enugu state.


Mr Mbanefo called on Ndi Anambra to invest in cattle rearing and drive innovation in the agriculture sector saying that it's always better to start small and then grow big as the demand for beef not only in Anambra state but in neighbouring states guarantees good returns on the investment.

He advised entrepreneurs wishing to start cattle ranch business to contact the ministry as advisory services will be provided by Eagle Farms and Cattle Ranch under the guidance of the Ministry of Agriculture.

The Simplest Way To Calculate The Numbers Of Blocks U Need For Your Fence


The simplest way to calculate the numbers of blocks you need for your fence project, assuming you are fencing a land measuring 120 feet by 60 ft, a standard plot

This calculation is based on 9 inches block fence .
The measurement we are using is 120 ft (length) and since we have two lengths that is multiply by 2 which is 240 ft. (120 x 2) = 240

The breadth is 60 ft and also since we have 2 breadths that equal 120 ft (60 x 2) = 120
Then (240 + 120) that is 360 feet perimeter line fencing.

The calculation

(we are to convert this 360 feet to inches ) since a foot is 12 inches , now let us multiply 12 inches by 360 ft which is 4320 inches.

Now to get the line numbers of blocks that will go around the fence perimeters of 4320 inches or 360 feet, we would need to divide 4320 by 18 inches, since the length of any block be it 6 inches or 9 inches is 18inches.

Now 4320 inches divide by 18 inches is approximately 240 line of blocks , then we must multiply that by the numbers of coaches of blocks you want for your height, assuming 7 ft which is 9 coaches that means 240 multiply by 9 which is 2160 blocks and that is all you need anything aside from this is fake and fraud, this calculation is derive by me professionally and i have been using it without any mistake, but always remember to add 10 % of blocks to it because of broken blocks, and for this work, you only need 30 bags of cements, one bag of cement to 70 blocks, is standard.

for your pillars between the fence, let assume 6 blocks far from the next pillar, that means 6 divide by 240 which is 40 pillars, 1 bag of cement to 2 pillars standard, that is 17 bags plus 40 bags that is 47 bags is need by me to do this fence, if i'm in position and you should also to add 15 bags for floor blinding of the fence making 62 bags of cement.

Then, we need to minus the gate and the pillars that are also taking space in the fence.

The gate is 12 ft, let us assume the gate columns or pillars is 14 inches each, we have 2 pillars holding the gate, that is 28 inches or 2. 4 feet plus 12 feet that is 14.4 feet or approximately 15 feet.

Remember we already calculate the pillars that 40 pillars is need for the measurement.

Each pillar or column for 9 inches concrete is 9 inches square, 9 x 40 = 360 inches that is (30 feet + 15 feet = 45 feet ) / 18 inches = 30 blocks multiply by the number of coaches, 30 x 9 = 270 block minus 2160 blocks = 1890 blocks in total.

40 lengths of 12mm iron rod, since one pillar is equivalent to 1 length.

3 lengths of 16mm iron rod for the 2 big pillars holding the gate.

90 planks of soft wood for the framing.

1 truck of granite (granite would be use for the wall foundation and columns)

5 trucks of sharp sand
