chiiraq802:A good policy design that sets a framework for its deployment can checkmate this genuine concern. |
As gathered from evidences presented by various scholars of Ahlus Sunna Wal Jamaa The Holy Quran states: Say, 'O Prophet,' (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) “In Allah’s 'grace' and 'mercy' let them 'rejoice'. That is far better than whatever 'wealth' they amass.” - Qur'an 10:58 One tafsir of this ayah can be found as follows: Tafsir: Regarding this, there is a Hadith from Sayyidina Anas (radi Allahu ta'ala anh) where it has been reported that the Holy Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) said, 'fadl', (grace), of Allah denotes the Qur'an and 'rahmah' (mercy) means that you were blessed with the taufiq (ability) of reciting the Qur'an and acting in accordance with it.' - Ruh al-Ma`ani from Ibn Marduwayh Other tafsirs of the same ayah plus corroborating ayahs that strengthen this position can be found as follows: And Sayyidina Abdullah ibn Abbas (radi Allahu ta'ala anh) narrates that 'fadl' means the Qur'an, and 'rahmah' refers to the Holy Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) [himself]... - Maarif-ul-Quran The below verse also refers directly to the holy Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) as the 'mercy' of Allah; The Holy Quran states: And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad] (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam), except as a 'mercy' to the 'worlds'. - Qur'an 21:107 Sayyidina Ibn 'Umar (radi Allahu ta'ala anh), has reported that the Holy Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) said that is "I am the blessing sent by Allah so that I lift up the people, who obey Allah, and humble the other people, who disobey Allah. - Ibn Kathir The declaring of the Holy Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) as the 'mercy' of Allah is 'universal', and was not restricted only to those present there or living with him at the time. Instead, it included even the generations that will be born right through to the last day of Qiyamah. - Ruh al-Ma`ni And as expained by respected elders in the deen highlighting the specific use of the phrace 'mercy on to the worlds', these include the world of the angels, the world we were in, the world we are in now, the world we shall arrive to, and the world of other creatures in any form. Iblis cried loudly four times, 'first' when Allah declared him as cursed, 'second' when he was thrown out, 'third' when Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) was born and 'fourth' when surah Fatiha was revealed - Ibn Kathir in Al Bidayah wan Nihayah, Volume 2, Page No. 166. Thus a muslim should not find himself in the above group of people because shaytan (and his followers) is the only being not happy with the birth of the holy Propphet Muhammad (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam). Hence without any doubt the arrival of Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) is mercy not only upon us but all worlds and creations of Allah and it is source of rejoicing for his (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) followers. The days when Anbiya are born are days of 'Salam': The Holy Quran states: And 'salam', peace, be upon him the day he was born and the day he dies and the day he is raised alive. - Qur'an 19:15 Honouring the day the holy Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) is born is rewarding: Narrated 'Ursa; Thuwaiba was the freed slave girl of Abu Lahb whom he had manumitted (freed), and then she suckled the Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam). When Abu Lahb died, one of his relatives saw him in a dream in a very bad state and asked him, "What have you encountered?" Abu Lahb said, "I have not found any rest since I left you, except that I have been given water to drink in this (the space between his thumb and other fingers) and that is because of my manumitting Thuwaiba." - Muslims Volume 7, Book 62, Number 38 and Sahih Bukhari Abu Lahab freed Thuwaiba on the joy of the birth of holy Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) prior to his defiant stance against Islam later. So even the worst of Kufaar and greatest of enemy of Islam is given relaxation from his punishments due to freeing Thawaiba. Therefore imagine the situation of a mu'min who rejoices on Mawlid. - Sahih Bukhari The birth of the Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) is among the signs of Allah: We have learnt many of the miraculous events that happened to herald the birth of the holy Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) such as the 'extinguishing' of the Persion worship fire that had been kept burning for thousand of years, the collapse of 360 idols around the Ka'aba and the shaking of the throne of most of the world kings of the time, the destruction of Abraha's army among other events. The Holy Quran states: By your life, (O prophet) they are wandering blindly in their intoxication (misguidance)... - Qur'an 15:72 Allahu ta'ala has not bestowed on anyone in the whole creation an honour and rank higher than that of Sayyidna Muhammad Mustafa (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam). This is the reason why Allahu ta'ala has never sworn by the life of any prophet or angel, while in this verse, He has sworn by the age and life of the Holy Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) - which is the highest conceivable honour and deference accorded him. - Ibn Abbas (radi Allahu ta'ala anh), Maarif-ul-Quran Therefore his birth is certainly a major sign from Allahu ta'ala. What the holy Qur'an says about venerating, honouring, a sign of Allahu ta'ala: The Holy Quran states: ..whoever respects the signs of Allah, this surely is (the outcome) of the piety of hearts. - Qur'an, 22:32 So it can be seen that honouring the birthday of the Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) not only is it rewarding, it can also purify our 'eeman' before Allahu ta'ala. Analogy for "If the Prophet, (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) and the sahaba (radi Allahu ta'ala anh) did not do it, then I will not...": Ibn Abbas "Allah be pleased with him" reported: The Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) came to Madina and saw the Jews fasting on the tenth day of Muharram. They were asked about that. They replied: "This is the day, on which Allah made Moses and the children of Israel emerge victorious over Pharoah. So, we fast on it "OUT OF GLORIFICATION TO IT". The Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) said: "We have more claim over Moses than you." So, he ordered Muslims to fast on it. - In Sahih Muslim, Volume 2, Page No. 147, Hadith No. 1130 (Dar ul Kutab al Ilmiyyah). What is in focus here is the 'basis' for doing the action, not the action that was done. It can be seen that the holy Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) 'validated' the 'basis' for which the (later generation) Jews were performing the fasting even though their prophet, nabi Musa (alaihissalam), and earlier generation, did not do this fasting. In the case of mawlid Nabiy, there is even a stronger 'basis' for marking and honouring it because it is commanded in the holy Qur'an to rejoice on it. Creation of Adam (alaihissalam) honoured and connected to the term 'Eid': Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (saw) as saying: The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday, on it Adam was 'created', on it he was made to enter Paradise, on it he was expelled from it. - Sahih Muslim Book 7, Hadith 26 So Allahu ta'ala has attached honour to day prophets are born e.g. Friday as we all know today as a day of 'Eid', that is, of rejoicing among muslims. It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: "The Messenger of Allah (saw) said: 'This day is an 'Eid (festival) which Allah has ordained for the Muslims. Whoever comes to Friday (prayer), let him take a bath and if he has perfume then let him put some on. And upon you (I urge to use) is the tooth stick." Grade : Hasan (Ibn e majah Book 5, Hadith 1152) Narrated Abu 'Ubaid: Then I witnessed the 'Id with 'Uthman bin 'Affan, and that was on a Friday. He offered the prayer before the sermon, saying, "O people! Today you have two Eids together, so whoever of those who live at Al-'Awali (suburbs) would like to wait for the Jumua prayer, he may wait, and whoever would like to return (home) is ranted my permission to do so." (Sahih al-Bukhari Vol. 7, Book 68, Hadith 479) Narrated AbuHurayrah: The Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) said: Two Eids ('Id and Friday) have synchronised on this day. If anyone does not want to offer the Friday prayer, the 'Id prayer is sufficient for him. But we shall offer the Friday prayer. This tradition has been narrated by 'Umar from Shu'bah. Grade : Sahih (Sunan Abi Dawud 1073 Book 2, Hadith 684) UNDERSTANDING THE HADITH OF BID'A: It was narrated on the authority of Abu Najih al-Irbad bin Sariyah (ra) who said: "The Messenger of Allah (saw) delivered an admonition that made our hearts fearful and our eyes tearful. We said, "O Messenger of Allah, it is as if this were a farewell sermon, so advise us." He said, "I enjoin you to have Taqwa of Allah and that you listen and obey, even if a slave is made a ruler over you. He among you who lives long enough will see many differences. So for you is to observe my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly-principled and rightly-guided successors, holding on to them with your molar teeth. Beware of newly-introduced matters, for every innovation (bid'ah) is an error." (Abu Dawud & Al-Tirmidhi, who says it is an authentic hadith - hasan saheeh) THE BIRTH DATE OF THE HOLY PROPHET (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) Al-Muttalib bin ‘Abdullah bin Qais bin Makhramah narrates from his father, who narrates from his grandfather, that he said: “I and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, were born in the Year of the Elephant” Tirmidhi (Sahih) This is a well known event in Islamic history as occurring in the year 570 CE. The event has also been supported by modern archeological findings as a real event and the year is similarly set at 569 CE. Others are 568CE and 571 CE. Ibn Kathir (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “It was said that he [PBUH] was born on the twelfth of the month. This was stated by Ibn Ishaq. It was narrated by Ibn Abi Shaybah in his Musannaf from ‘Affan from Sa‘eed ibn Mina that Jabir and Ibn ‘Abbas said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) was born in the Year of the Elephant on Monday 12th Rabi’ al-Awwal, his mission began on a Monday, he was taken up to heaven on a Monday, and he migrated on a Monday, and he died on a Monday.” - Ibn Kathir Researchers have found that this date will more fit 9th of Rabi' al-Awwal when traced by way of calculation back to the year of the Elephant. This is why there is a variation in the dates. This is also not to say that the narration is wrong because the establishing exact year for the year of the Elephant could be important in getting an exact date also. However, the month Rabi al-Awwal and the day of Monday are not been in doubt. Therefore, this is why mawlud events are normally organized throughout the month to seek this blessing of honouring the birthday of the holy prophet (saw) and this is not strange to muslims as we similarly seek laylatul Qadr this way. WHAT OUR UNDERSTANDING SHOULD BE GUIDED BY: Understanding: That 'newly-introduced matters' should be understood as 'NOT' having any 'basis' in the religion. In other words, something that has a basis upon which it is built can not be considered a bid'a. Al-Harith ibn ‘Amr reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, sent Mu’adh to Yemen and he said, "How will you judge?" Mu’adh said, "I will judge according to the Book of Allah." The Prophet said, "What if it is not in the Book of Allah?" Mu’adh said, "Then, with the Sunnah of the messenger of Allah." The Prophet said, “What if it is not in the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah?” Mu’adh said, “Then, I will strive to form an opinion.” The Prophet said, “All praise is due to Allah, who has made suitable the messenger of the Messenger of Allah.” Source: Sunan al-Tirmidhī 1327 Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Ibn Abdul Barr From the hadith of Jareer (RadiAllahu Anh) in Muslim: The one who innovates a good innovation in Islam receives its reward and a reward similar to that of all those who practice with it after him without any lessening in their reward Moreover, Caliph Umar (RA) said after he gathered the people to be led by one Imam during the Tarawih prayer: “Praised is this innovation” (Sahih Bukhari). Through out history, this has been exemplified by other practices, once the basis is established, e.g. an example of one that is not performed by the holy Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) but which the sahaba (radi Allahu anhum) performed e.g. the compilation of the holy Qur'an into a unified book form because the basis was there as the holy Qur'an was being recorded on animal skins, flat stones etc during the time of the holy Prophet (saw) anyway and as instructed by him also and practices which the early muslims did not perform but which the latter muslims perform e.g. the use of public address systems during worship in a large mosque. The Prohibition Of Celebrating The Prophet’s Birthday (mawlid An-nabiyy)Prohibition? How? You people are taking your misconceptions too far. https://www.nairaland.com/8513242/support-honouring-birthday-holy-prophet |
Nice! Nice!! Nice!!! The security crises have by far outweighed the political gains for governors. In fact, with a bit of policy design, the governors can be put to check how they use the state police. ![]() |
She should repent publicly also so that Allah Almighty will forgive her else divine condemnation the likes of which came upon Lars Vilks, the Swedish cartoonist, even under the guards of policemen, will locate her as well. We were all living witnesses to it when Lars Vilks was bragging about and doing as he liked. At the appointed time, his period of grace expired and no one could help him. ![]() |
I strongly support Traore on this. Why using Africans as guinea pigs for experiments? Could he have scaled the strict regulatory requirements in the U.S. in order to test the same mosquitoes on Americans? A greater percentage of the people did not take his covid vaccines and they did not die from covid. They got even stronger. ![]() |
chiiraq802:👍 The weight/size of the ball, the re-throw strength and A being totally unaware of the impending danger. |
Block the export of unprocessed lithium and clip the value chain that leads back to all the criminal cells behind the dubious activities of lithium mining. Big kudos BAT!!! This is no small feat. Illegal lithium mining has also been contributing to the sponsoring of terrorism in the country. The effects of this policy implementation will be hugely positive. ![]() |
It should be made clear the reason for his arrest given that he has lived here for 35 years without any issues. If it is nothing beyond being vocal for his fatherland of Palestine, then this should be roundly condemned. Nigeria should not be forced by the powers that be to persecute innocent people. ![]() |
Isn't this better than trying to alter our DNA through his other dangerous experiments. Please keep it sane Bill. ![]() |
Now did he stop acquiring education after that point if we are after measuring his true potentials and not just trying to shame him? I don't know him o, I'm only trying to be rational about it since apparently he has not violated the rule of the game as set by INEC. ![]() |

Hypocrisy is when you show us pictures of the mother of Jesus wearing hijab as a mother figure for decency and chastity but you vehemently prevent same practice for your female students some of whom may be from muslim homes and are fundamentally protected by the constitution of the country to practice their religion anywhere in the country. I don't know when a landlord now has a say in what I practice for my religion? ![]() |
Will he also get a budget for his new role in order to run his campaigns? Asking for a friend. ![]() |
He extracts the hydrogen from the water for combustion. Hope you know that the whites are developing an internal combustion engine based on hydrogen. The smoke is water vapour. Man is a genius, but operating in an unstructured environment as usual. ![]() |

Sincerely ask yourself from your heart of hearts who is more christlike between these people and yourself and you shall find the answer to who he shall accept and who he shall reject among the people who claim to follow him, not to be seeking nairaland validations up and down. ![]() Righteousness2: |
Trump (and Netanyahu) was on an aggressive mission to accomplish all of these, plus more, for Israel toward the end of his first tenure. So one would think that it will be a prime project now that he has returned and the project does not even involve firing a single bullet, let's say. But why is that not happening? I don't think that I have heard him mention the word Jerusalem since coming back for a second term. Can you explain the deafening silence about the project? ![]() APOSTLECHUMA: |
Man, go and sleep, if truly you can sleep tonight. Macron doesn't even know you exist, so all your shouting ends here on Nairaland. Yen! yen!! yen!!! collect something disastrous from America the God of Israel, right? F-16, F-22 fighters jets? Name it. One question: why is Trump not pursuing his Jerusalem project again? Given that this was the last project he sought to complete before leaving office the last time. One would think that he would have jumped in on it as soon as he got in again given how aggresively he pursued it back then? You don't know anything!!! ![]() Righteousness2: |
Absolutely how the number one citizen of a state should speak. 100% support you on this Sir. ![]() |
If you are thinking what I am thinking then creating a number of new states could be the ultimate game changer to win a presidential election for an incumbent. Everybody wins! ![]() |
That impulsive need to say "the highest tax payers" instead of saying "among the highest tax payers" simply to make it sound all sweet and endearing. Why always trying to sound perfect but ending up hurting the truth? Na wa o. ![]() |
It is Buhari who passed away, may Allah forgive him and accept him, however, his 14 million voters are alive and watching keenly all of these developments. They no dey tell pesin na! When e hit u, you go know!! |
Shaykh Jingir is simply playing tribal politics here. He is also not helping Islam with this outburst. Even though I am not a fan of Peter Obi, I can't support Jingir on this. The prayer offered at shaykh Sambo's institution was a fair one. In fact, an average obidient would have taken offence with it because it spared no one. The prayer clearly mentioned that even if Peter Obi was a stumbling block to Nigeria's progress, let him die. Lacking no religious ground to take on shaykh Sambo, Jingir resorted to tribal sentiments while in the cloak of a religious leader. That is wrong. |
Saraki sure knows how to play politics the right way. Showing doings rather than seeking to hug the limelight where you have little to no contributions. Respect Sir!!! ![]() |
Dangote now eyeing the southern African market. Serious! This guy is a behemoth!! |
kolente:My first thought when I opened the thread. But on reading through the entire piece, I realised that Dangote was also an insider at NNPC having previously bought an entire refinery and was poised to take over their entire structure until Nigeria happened to him. He is entitled to let Nigerians know what he met on the ground as an insight into letting us know why the TAM cycles are scams. As for the battle of cabals, forget it, he has already beaten them hands down and wiped the floor with their asses. The era of the cabals is now history. You may call him the new cabal too and you could be right. But he attained that by sheer excellence and the framework under which he operates is open and transparent to all Nigerians to compete with him under the same set of open rules. So we need more expose from him. ![]() |
