I have a question, have you seen kitchen worktops which are designed with blocks/ concrete slab and also some tiles or marble on it.
Any tips on such worktops, what are the disadvantages over the wooden ones which gets constructed.
When constructing worktops, what kind of wood should be used that is not so expensive but yet stand the test of time.
Is it also true to say that tiling should happen before placing fittings on it such as lights, WC, railings, kitchen worktop or cabinets ?

i hope you know that some tiles scratch easily?

The problem is between two markets; The new Cattle market in Izom and the Old market in Lambata.
The new cattle market in Izom was formed just or centle in order to decongest the Lambata market.
The people of Lambata were not happy with this new market in Izom due to the fact that it will reduce their revenue base in the market.
But after some intrigues they allowed it to foster.
The problem now is that the people of Lambata do not want the market in Izom to open the same day with it (note that these two markets usually open everyone four days).
Since the cattle market in Izom want to exercise their independence from Lambata, they wouldn't take such command.
Then the Lambat people want to abolish the Izom market completely.
This is the little I know.
The fight is not solely between Fulani and indigenes. It instead a fight between two close communities of the Gwaris. But because 'cattle' is involved, everyone will run to the conclusion that it is between Fulani's And the locals.
The situation is now under control.

i was a youth corps member in the north when buhari lost the 2011 elections, so many of my colleagues were killed, wounded or their lodges burnt with all their belongings. so many female members, most of them yorubas were raped on the streets, slaughtered like rams and their corpses burnt in broad daylight. we might as well protest and die in the process than go up north to teach their children and face such experiences. any life that doesn't have something worth dying for is not worth living. biafra or a willing death. after anybody who has been destined to die in a particular circumstance must die in it. her time has reached and mine might be next. America predicted that Nigeria would break up on or before 2016 and went ahead to carry on military games on how they would secure our oil facilities when confused fighting breaks up nationwide. they stationed soldiers in Ghana and Niger republic during the last election after Obama has handed over his personal campaign manager to buhari thinking gej would let the country burn but gej shamed them all with his humility now it's buhari that would make that prediction come through by his acts of war crime against unarmed peaceful protesters. when ipob picks up arms probable supplied by America and her allies and tries to take the war and destruction to other parts of the country outside their home region against the poorly equipped, trained,demoralized and tribally divided Nigerian army, the whole country would burn like Syria, Libya and Yemen all rolled into one with confused fighting by soldiers, boko haram,Fulani herdsmen, Niger Delta militants, ipob etc. the Americans would seize our oil facilities and you would be happy for your blind support for the government. wisdom is needed to direct. let the fg grant them a peaceful referendum and try to defeat them through superior logic to the voters as the British did to the Scottish separatists. if the only language buhari understands is violence then you too ought to be concerned.

Nice observation. I saw that too and felt it looked a bit odd. I'll have a word with the Site Engineer about relocating the door before we start demarcating the walls.

that's the beauty of posting floor plans online for reviews. i also think you should have talked to your site engineer about an overhead tank ontop of the penthouse, the height would have been an advantage.

please, i think there's a mistake in the floor plan for the bungalow, the room beside the staircase have the door wrongly placed

If at a later time you think you will park on top of it, then you should have adequate pillars and beam.
You need beam on top regardless for the decking of the soakaway. There are several thread that
shows pictures of how its build... just do a search and you will see it including mine.

thanks, in the north it seems they don't use beams and pillars and the result is a high degree of collapsed soakaway pits. i have a client i washed my hands of his project because he insisted that what everybody does is a six by six pit without pillars or beams.that was in Niger state

only an American would think a 2500 square foot home is "modest", to the restof the world, that's quite large. tell me what you need and maybe a site plan and i would design something smaller but equally efficient for you.
