So many of the scams happening here would have been reduced if haste and diligent search was done. Every necessary steps has always been highlighted, but laziness won't allow the victim do the needful.

I will quickly highlight the steps once again. It will help you against scam.

Once a mobile number contacts you for a trade. Do the following;

1. Copy his mobile number and search the number on Nairaland search box.

2. Ask him for his/her Nairaland username. Also, run a search on that username.

3. Ask the client to quote you on Nairaland.

4. You can now ask for an escrow if you are in doubt. And observe the same procedure for the escrow.


The truth is that most scammers won't pass through the first step. It's only hardened criminals that can get to step 3. Then step 4 will fully expose them.

Today, I met my ex and she was kissing her new boyfriend in front of a store. I was watching them and she saw me then she asked me what I was doing there. I told her my wife is pregnant and I am here to buy baby stuffs and I am very very happy. I spoke as if they asked me that.

Did you saw the intonation of her replies to me before I responded similarly? Respect is reciprocal. If you want civilised response, then do the same. If she want to only post without contradicting views, she should build her own website, then post only, restricting public access. This is an online forum, it is preeminent that one should develop a thick skin, and be open to opposing views, even if it's not necessarily accepted, replied to or acknowledged. To deactivate an account because someone said something that is factual, but you dont like it's something weakling do. And who cares if she deactivated her account?

One thing is that she will not deceive gullible candidates to go to Ukraine with the hope that it will transit them to the EU. My homeboy whom I visited Kiev from Germany in January was deceived by agents with such lie, that he can visit all EU countries because the EU granted Ukrainians free Visa recently, until he landed and found it to be a lie.
